Author's Note 1:
All love goes to Cove over on YouTube. I asked him if it was okay if I used his challenges and ideas and he said yes. Cove is a great dude and writer. This is the first chapter/Episode. I was going to do the whole 1st episode and elimination and challenges but I decided to just end it there for now and finish Episode 1 soon. But this is just more of a prologue before the excitement. All credit goes to FreshTV, CakeTV, and whomever else does Total Drama. But all challenges, season name and all ideas goes to Cove. I'll just say this if I continue working on this fanfiction this will be very different from many others. Either good different or bad. I added 200ish more words after I finished it up just to bring in more dialogue and such. I posted this on Ao3 and wanted to also post this on here. I hope you like this
Summary: Months after Pahkitew Island, Chris gets bad news from RottenVT. But things change in a year.
The season and episode opens at a airport as we see the plane from the last episode of "Pahkitew Island" which had Chef Hatchet, Chris McLean, Shawn, Jasmine and Sky, land and as the doors open Shawn, with his briefcase of money, and Jasmine walk out as they walk off together. Sky and the almost entirely bald Dave leave next, as Sky looks remorseful towards Dave, but Dave just stomps away in a different direction as Sky looks at Dave 1 last time before heading another way. Chef Hatchet Chris McLean leave last as they carry their own bags with Chris wearing sunglasses. As they talk about "Pahkitew Island" as they go out the doors of the airport.
Chris: What a wild season eh, Chef?
Chef: You crazy man. I can't believe the producers agreed to all your crazy ideas.
Chris: Psh Chef, come-on the producers love me. I am the only reason why their company hasn't failed yet. People watch Total Drama, not because of the contestants, but for me and all the chaos I bring.
Chef:(Who shakes his head obviously not 100% agreeing with Chris)Whatever man. At least hopefully I can do something next season. If we get renewed for another season.
Chris: Come on buddy. Of course we will get renewed. The fans will love this season. I mean who doesn't love seeing kids almost dying from everything. Even if they hate the contestants and all their "quirks" it'll be ratings gold. And like I said the producers absolutely love me.
As they leave the airport it cuts to a card saying 3 months later. After the card it shows a big building with the name "RottenVT" plastered on the front. But after a couple seconds it cuts to the inside in a meeting room with Chris McLean looking pissed as several people are sitting in chairs while Chris McLean stands in the front.
Chris: You cannot do this, Total Drama is the heart of this company. If you do this, this company will fall without Total Drama.
A Man stands up from his chair and starts walking around the table. He's the man in charge of "RottenVT".
The Man: We don't have a choice, Mr. McLean. We have been losing money left and right because of the low viewership and it doesn't help that we have been giving the winners 1 million dollars per season. And we have a lot of lawsuits thanks to your insanity from Pahkitew Island. You are insanely lucky you haven't been jailed again for your actions. I can't believe we allowed you to starve those poor teenagers all season! You almost killed all of them by exploding the plane, which do I need to remind you that wasn't the plan. You once again almost killed 6 of them again when Pahkitew went nuts instead of you know taking them to safety, which was the plan if the island went nuts. You poisoned 7 of them with that disgusting food drink thing. And constantly put them in harm's way, more than you ever had done!!! (The Man then slams his hand on to the table and glares at Chris, before he composes himself and sits back up, rubbing his forehead). But the company needs a break and for right now, Total Drama is canceled. We won't announce it, but we need to rebuild the name "RottenVT" and you can't be a part of it right now.
Chris: You will regret this!!! Without Total Drama this company will die, you need Total Drama. Sooner or later you will need me back.
The Man: Yeah probably, but as of right now we don't need Total Drama. So if you can please kindly leave the building and we might stay in touch. Good day.
Chris glares at everyone in the room as he storms out of the room. As the door closes behind Chris, the screen cuts to black and a title card saying: "1 year later!!!!" After the black screen it cuts to a office with The Man with his hair now white. He's pacing around his office as someone stands in the office with a board showing a downward spiral of money.
The Man: How long do you reckon before the company is at negative?
Nick: (Who looks at the board): With the rate of viewerships, I say 6 months. If we are lucky maybe 7.
The Man sighs and finally sits down at his desk and puts his head into his arms. As he does this his computer wakes up from sleep mode and the man in charge looks up and sees a folder called "Total Drama Pics" and he gets an idea. He holds up a finger to the other man and hits a switch on the phone and speaks.
The Man: Amanda, can you arrange for Chris McLean to come on down as soon as possible?
Amanda: Of course sir.
The Man in Charge turns to the other man and the other man stares in disbelief.
Nick: Are you sure, sir? Is this the best option?
The Man: (He gets up from his chair and looks out the window, pondering the question): Chris McLean told me over a year ago, that I would need him again. And he's right, since I cancelled Total Drama our viewership has been slowly dying. It was already on the decrease before the cancellation but it was never this bad. Chris McLean is the only one who can save this company. Do we have enough money to pay the winner, Chris Chef, and work out all the problems?
Nick: It's possible, sir. But we might not have enough for the winner, unless we raise money during the 6 months.
The Man: Than that's our 2nd main priority. Now I just need to make lots of calls.
After his line it cuts to black again and another title card saying: "4 Months Later!!!" as the black screen ends, it shows Camp Wawanakwa back to its full glory as it cuts to the dock and shows Chris standing next to the sign of Camp Wawanakwa. The dock and sign are still wet and aren't fully dry yet. Chris smiles his signature smile at the camera.
Chris: Welcome back to Camp Wawanakwa. It's been over a year since Pahkitew Island ended, and things have drastically changed but I'll get into those changes in a bit.(Chris than leans on the still wet sign before stepping back)As you can see we are back on Camp Wawanakwa, which the producers somehow managed to bring it back to the surface. But that's a whole 'nother problem I'll get to.(Chris than walks off screen and into the campfire ceremony, where everything is gone, the grass and everything around is still wet and dripping)And that's another problem we'll get solved. As you can see the island is still wet, the producers took their sweet time bringing Wawanakwa back to the surface. (All of a sudden Chris puts his finger on his ear)It was a joke jeez. Yes, yes I'm going there right now.(Chris than takes his finger off and walks off screen again and is now in the middle of where the cabins should be, but the only thing are just random pieces of wet wood all around).
Chris: I believe the producers are solving this problem right now.(Chris than puts his finger to his ear again)Wait, you are dropping it now, now.(All of a sudden a very much very familiar looking hotel falls out of the sky and lands right next to Chris, who jumps out of the way anyways)Are you kidding me? That could have killed me!(Chris than runs his fingers through his hair while still keeping his finger on his ear) More of a heads-up would have been nice!(A loud clang can then be heard in the distance). And that's the mess hall. Wait now, I haven't even explained everything yet. Okay, okay fine. (Chris than looks back at the camera and sighs)Like I said there are some changes.(Chris than walks back off screen and back onto the dock. As the camera than shows the ocean with a boat coming towards the island, and Boney Island behind the boat)
Chris: This season we brought back 16 original Total Drama contestants from Island World Tour that did not compete in All-Stars. The producers managed to look over their contracts and found interesting stuff, to force them back. But to bring in more viewers we are also brining back 2 All-Stars to be team captains of the 2 teams this season. But I'll explain that soon. We got a whole lot of things needing to be explained, 16 contestants, 2 All-Stars and a whole lot of changes. This is... Total... Drama... Wawanakwa Strikes Back!!!!(As Chris says these magical words, the camera backs up each time showing a view of Chris. But after he says the last words the Island than briefly shakes, causing Chris to get off guard a bit before fixing his stand).Heh.
Author's Note 2:
Thank you for reading. Like I said I planned for this to be an entire episode but I instead just made it short and do the rest of Episode 1 later, which is why this chapter is Episode 1.1, it's the 1st episode but just the beginning. No reveal of contestants yet or all the changes. Once again all the ideas and love goes to Cove over on YouTube.
