Hey everyone, I apologize for my absence.

Well, someone on ao3 asked me for another genderbent Lukanette fanfiction so I decided to finish "Knight in Shining Armor".

So here you go, another exciting story with the shining star and the muse.

Just to note there are slight mentions of abuse, torture, bullying, and violence but nothing graphic.

Also I apologize for the hiccups. The hotel I am staying at currently has internet that constantly fades in and out...It sucks. So without further ado...

When Marin and Luci were small children, being a kid was certainly not all fun and games. Marin would reflect on his grade school days and think about playground games and snacks, but he also remembered all the times he was bullied and teased. But Marin was still strong in his own way, having such a big heart even if bad things happen to him.

Although behind every strong man is an equally strong woman, Marin was never alone. There was a young girl with beautiful blue hair and a warm heart that would always take a stand for him—his best friend.

Even if Luci would get in trouble with the teachers, she couldn't take it anymore. And Luci was always known for righteous anger with all the injustice in the world. Sometimes she wished the heroes in the cartoons existed, but right now, she couldn't wait around as she spotted two boys trying to beat Marin up.

Luci grit her teeth and ran head first before those boys could touch Marin again. Both her fists flew into their faces and landed direct hits that knocked both boys to the ground. The two rowdy boys didn't look so tough now. They were sitting on the ground, rubbing their faces. Luci turned to Marin, who sat on the ground looking stunned.

But when Marin saw Luci smiling confidently against the bright sunlight, he smiled back with gratitude. And then Luci turned to the two bullies and glared at them.

"I am Marin's knight in shining armor! Don't you jerks ever forget that!" Luci cried.

With that, the two boys ran away in fear, and Luci paid no mind to them and held out her hand for Marin.

She always was his knight in shining armor. Even years later.

Luci would never hear the end of it from her brother now. Julien had been ranting and raving ever since Luci protected Marin from a criminal and ended up breaking her hand. Her guitar-playing hand was now in a giant cast that looked like a baseball glove but was much less practical.

"You're out of control Luci! Thanks to you we have to cancel the concert! What you did was really brave and really stupid!" Julien cried.

Even though Luci was relaxing in bed, Julien was still pissed at her. At this point, she felt comforted that her guitar-playing hand would heal with time. She did not regret what she did for a moment because Marin was her one and only muse.

She had already told Julien she would play for the next concert, but that did not ease Julien's anger.

Marin learned just to let Julien have his moment as well, even though this moment lasted almost the entire day. At first, Julien kept praying the injury wasn't serious in the hospital. And then denial turned to anger. Still, it was a somewhat relaxing afternoon for Marin as he baked cookies and made blueberry lavender milk.

When everything was perfect, Marin placed cookies and milk on a tray and walked to the sleeping area.

"Well, I hope our fans won't be heartbroken!"

That was Julien's final say before he headed out of the sleeping area. He thought he was effectively wracking Luci and Marin with guilt as Julien marched away. Still, Marin smiled as he set the tray beside Luci. He ensured her glass of blueberry lavender milk was extra large with a long straw. And Luci was super eager to eat Marin's cookies again as she took two and shoved them in her mouth. She knew she would be fine with her muse around giving her cuddles. With his cookies and blueberry milk, Luci would heal quicker than when the doctor suggested. After she gulped down some milk, Marin took her non-injured hand and stroked it softly as if he was using his non-existent healing skills. He gave her a warm look with his bluebell eyes, and Luci couldn't help but stroke his round cheek with her free hand. Then Marin remembered Julien.

"Julien, there are plenty of cookies and milk for you to eat as well," Marin called.

There were three minutes and no answer, so Luci took a moment to give Marin a sweet kiss on his cheek. Then there was a sound of familiar groaning.

"Fine!" Julien cried.

Marin and Luci giggled, knowing they would finally have peace. This was good because Marin would do anything to make his shining star feel better. Still, Luci's love for her muse was unwavering even though she was injured. She laid Marin on the bed with her uninjured hand, and Marin obeyed. Luci then kissed him sweetly before nuzzling her face on his shoulder and placing her bandaged hand on his beating heart.

"I love you Luci," Marin whispered dreamily.

"I love you too, my muse," Luci whispered back.

They continued with the cuddling and sweet kisses for a while. When the sun started to set, Luci yawned. Marin got off the bed and was eager to make dinner for Luci and her family. But both of them heard familiar footprints from an enigmatic captain who peeked through the door and smiled.

"Captain Anarky!" Marin cried as he nearly dropped the apron.

"Daddy!" Luci cried.

Marin smiled sheepishly while Luci moved to the edge of the bed, ready to be by her boyfriend's side, but Captain Anarky chuckled again.

"You two kids are still as adorable as ever," the captain said.

Luci and Marin said nothing until Luci sighed and relaxed back on the bed, realizing her father wasn't there to yell at her boyfriend. Marin relaxed his shoulders as well.

"I was just making dinner Sir," Marin said.

The captain quickly raised his hands and shook his head. "No need my boy!" Marin was nearly taken aback again. "I already ordered takeout. You just stay with Luci and help her heal. She certainly is the happiest girl alive with you around."

With that, Luci held out her good hand and gave Marin such an enamored look. Marin set the apron aside and took her hand as she dragged him into bed with her. "I feel better already," she noted. "I will be able to play my guitar again tomorrow."

Marin blushed. "As long as you continue resting Luci!"

Luci laid him down with her good hand and rested her head against his chest. Marin smiled at his beautiful girlfriend, and Captain Anarky winked before leaving the couple alone.

They lay in silence as Luci traced patterns on Marin's chest. She drifted into slumber as she heard the beautiful melody of Marin's kind heart. Marin kissed the top of her head before slowly falling asleep to Luci's soft breathing.

Floating into the dream world never felt so nice.

Marin was still sleeping. But the place he slept on felt so stone cold. His hands were over his head and tied up with rough rope. He had a headache from the tears streaming down his face earlier, and the villains who captured him kept placing his crown back on his head every time it fell off from the torture.

There was no sound except his soft cries for hours. He could only dream about being somewhere safe—a place of flowers and quiet sunsets. Everyone was happy and safe in the kingdom where his parents ruled. And the girl he was in love with was always beside him and smiling. She was the strongest knight ever, and he always knew that everything would be ok with her around.

"Marin! Marin!"

Marin wondered if he was in so much pain that he was dreaming again. He groaned as he rolled his head over.

"Prince Marin!"

Marin opened his eyes and tried to sit up despite being tied to the stone-cold bed. He heard Luci on the other side, and then she broke through the wooden door without hesitation.

"Luci!" Marin cried. His eyes flooded with tears again as he tried to release himself from the ropes that tied him.

Marin was almost convinced he was dreaming again until he heard her beautiful voice fill his ears again.

"Marin!"

Luci ran to his side and placed her gloved hand on his cheek, which caused him to smile for the first time in forever. When a tear rolled down his eye, she wiped it off with her thumb and quickly drew her sword.

"I'll untie you!" She said.

Luci gently cut the rough twig-like ropes that bruised his wrists. Marin felt a rush of relief, even if it would take a while for the circulation in his arms to be normal again. But he found the strength in his arms again when he saw Luci hold out her hand for him.

"Let me help you up Prince Marin," she said, smiling at him as if they weren't in a dangerous place.

The prince and the knight looked like they were about to cry happy tears from reuniting.

"Am…Am I dreaming?" Marin asked.

Luci quickly sat beside Marin. "No, you're not dreaming Prince Marin," she assured him. "I'm here."

Marin's body shook slightly as he slowly touched Luci's face. He could feel her and see her aquamarine eyes shine like jewels.

"Oh Luci. I missed you so much!"

Even though Prince Marin's freedom was granted by his knight, the prince couldn't help but wrap his arms around her and cry again. But Luci allowed Marin to cry as she ran her hand through his sapphire blue hair. They were the only ones inside this castle. The villains that inhabited this run-down place did not stand a chance against her and her blade. The prince was free to cry as long as he needed. Even though this abandoned castle was filled with fallen enemy soldiers, it seemed more habitable with a knight like her and a fair prince like Marin. And Luci noticed the grey clouds outside were clearing up, and golden sunlight was coming through the window.

"I'll get you out of here Marin." Luci continued to comfort him. "Your parents will be awaiting your safe return."

When Marin released his hold on Luci, she took his hands to help him back on his feet, but Marin squeezed her hands with his own.

"Wait!" Marin cried.

Before Luci could respond, Marin rested his head against Luci's chest and wrapped his arms around her waist. Luci couldn't help but go with the prince's request to listen to her rapidly beating heart. Her heart always beat faster around the handsome prince ever since they met, ever since she became a knight of the royal guard. And right now, the young prince was rendering a strong knight like herself speechless and flustered with his affection.

Marin finally smiled as he listened to Luci's heartbeat.

"Hearing your melody…." Marin started. Luci gasped in response.

"Hearing your voice after all the pain I endured…."

"Knowing such a kindhearted, strong, and beautiful knight like you Luci…."

Luci blushed and shook her head as she held the healing prince.

"My feelings are overflowing," Marin said.

Luci couldn't help but giggle a bit as she stroked Marin's back. But then she placed her hand under his chin and lifted his head to see his beautiful bluebell eyes.

"You can pour your heart out more when we get home," she assured him.

Marin blushed and nodded as Luci took his hand. The knight and prince ran freely through the empty halls, and then they found the window that Luci climbed into. Luci asked if Marin was well enough to climb out, but Marin was more ready than ever. The two of them used the rope to climb out, and the formerly captive prince could feel golden sunlight on his face. The sunlight may not have cured the scratches on his face, but it did warm his heart.

He couldn't help but fall to his knees and look at the flowers swaying in the breeze. It reminded him of when he first met Luci. Even though princesses from other kingdoms were visiting, he bashfully gave Luci the most beautiful blue flower he could find, and the rest was history.

He snapped out of his daydream when Luci brought her white horse for them to ride away with, and Marin stood back up on his feet.

"Luci wait!"

"Hm?" Luci cried.

Marin quickly took her hand and caught her off guard as he placed his family ring on her finger. Luci's mouth dropped, and she wanted to tell Marin that he shouldn't do something so bold, but Marin seemed so sure of himself as he smiled warmly at her and held her hand.

Marin moved in to kiss Luci on the lips, and Luci couldn't bring herself to say no. Their lips met, and Luci placed her hands on Marin's chest as he pulled her closer.

Luci ended up enjoying the kiss a bit too much. She didn't want to ride home with Marin just yet. But her beloved prince was finally safe with her so she didn't mind just living in the moment with Marin for now.

Everything truly faded into a beautiful light as Marin and Luci woke from their dream while giggling. Marin looked down and saw Luci smiling with those beautiful aquamarine eyes. Then he was caught off guard by Luci booping his nose with her finger.

"Hello there, my muse," she said.

Marin chuckled again and lifted her slightly, pressing her forehead against his.

"Hello there, my star," he said.

Marin and Luci wouldn't let Julien and the other members of Kitty Section down. They insisted the show would go on, and Marin and Luci arrived at the concert with Marin carrying Luci on his back. He set her down next to the standing microphone.

"I can't thank you enough Marin," Luci said.

Marin bashfully rubbed his neck. "Anytime Luci, I love you. You know that."

Luci quickly cupped his face with her free hand and kissed him before it was time to start the show. Marin promptly moved down the stage so he could play Luci's electric guitar.

The crowd was super ready to see Luci and the others, and Luci gestured for the audience to calm down for a moment.

"Good evening everyone!" Luci cried through the mic. "I am so happy that all of you came tonight."

The audience cheered in excitement again, and Luci took a moment to smile at her bandmates and most importantly, her boyfriend. Marin felt confident playing guitar for Luci after all the guitar lessons she gave him.

Luci turned to the crowd again and pumped her fist with her free hand.

"This is for all the starcrossed lovers out there," she said.

Marin smiled dreamily as he played the melody on Luci's guitar that complimented her lyrics. She shined so brightly in the night as she sang a song that moved everyone. A song that made the stars shine brighter that night.

"So bring me the night,"

"Send out the stars"

"Cause when I'm dreaming you don't seem so far"

"Darken the sky"

"And light up the moon"

"So that somehow you'll be here with me soon"

"Bring me the night"

"Bring me the night"

"That brings me to you…."

Luci turned and flashed a smile at Marin for a moment. Marin was overjoyed that he was able to help Luci shine tonight at the concert.

She may have always been his knight in shining armor, but Marin would always be her hero.
