What if there was an alternate ending to ROTS? What if Anakin had succeeded in killing Palpatine?
I wanted to create a happier ending story for Anakin and Padme, so join me on the journey to giving them a better deserved ending than the movie. Hope you all love it! FWI there will be characters from TCW featured in this story!

Our Happy Beginning
Chapter 1: The Prophecy Fulfilled
"I have the power to save the one you love!" Palpatine weakly exclaimed to Anakin, who was watching the horrific scene in front of him. Master Windu was using his saber to block Palpatine's force lightning, having it reflect back onto Palpatine, deforming his face and weakening him. "Don't listen to him, Anakin!" Master Windu said, putting all his strength into pushing more of the lighting back on Palpatine. Anakin looked back and forth between the two, confusion and turmoil etched all over his face.
Part of him told himself he needed Palpatine, if he truly could save Padme then he needed to live, on the other, he'd be betraying the Jedi by aiding Palpatine. Was he willing to make such a sacrifice? To betray the order and by extension the only person who had also always been there for him, his mentor and father figure, Obi-Wan. "I can't hold on any longer..!" Palpatine's weakening voice broke Anakin from his thoughts, his face slowly becoming more wrinkled and deformed. "I'm.. too weak, Anakin, help me!" he weakly cried out, his eyes now taking on a yellowish hue.
Anakin's gaze snapped toward Palpatine, still feeling severely conflicted on what he should do. Master Windu's voice broke through his thoughts, "I am going to end this once and for all." he raised his saber to strike down Palpatine. "No!" Anakin heard himself shouting before he could stop himself, he ignited his saber taking a step toward Windu. "Thank you my boy… thank you." Palpatine wheezed. Mace, in shock, turned his saber toward Anakin expecting an attack. As Anakin raised his saber in an attack, at the last minute he plunged his saber into a stunned Palpatine's chest.
Anakin pulled his saber away, disigniting it, his blue eyes widened in shock at the sight of Palpatine's limp body. "You did it, the prophecy has been fulfilled." he turned to look at Windu, he gulped.
"You did it Anakin, you've restored balance to the force." Mace laid a hand on Anakin's shoulder, "We must announce that the war can finally come to an end." he quickly exited the chambers to inform the council. Anakin stayed behind in the room still looking at Palpatine's body in disbelief, somehow, he felt lighter. As if a giant weight had been lifted from his shoulders, he let out a shaky and breathy laugh. He rushed out of the room, needing to see the one person whom he'd done all this for. Hopping into his ship, he quickly took off into the bustling Coruscant city streets.
Pulling up his ship at record speed, Anakin quickly hopped out running into the living room. "Padme!?" he called out, looking around for his wife.
"Ani?" Padme walked into the room, a look of confusion and worry on her face. "What is it, what's wrong?" Anakin could only smile, crushing her into a tight hug, mindful not to crush her swollen stomach.
"It's over, padme, the war, it's over!" he exclaimed, showering her face in kisses. Chuckling over her husband's over- enthusiasm, she lightly pushed him away trying to better understand what he was saying.
"I don't understand, you're saying the war is truly over?" she asked, trying to confirm that what Anakin said was true. Before Anakin could answer, a beeping noise alerted them that a message had arrived. Padme made her way to the holotable, opening the message. A hologram of Bail Organa displayed on the screen.
"Citizens of the Galactic Republic, I come before you today with a heavy announcement. Earlier today, the Jedi Council made a startling discovery. Chancellor Palpatine is dead and has been found guilty of treason against the Republic, he was found guilty on the charges of secretly conspiring with the Separatists as a Sith Lord, and for the destruction of thousands of lives across the Galaxy. An investigation on his crimes are being held, and others whom were a part of his treason will answer to it. With that being said, I am happy to announce that the war has finally come to an end, we will continue to fight any threats that remain or appear. The Jedi Order and The Republic will continue serving the people of this Galaxy. Let the reign of the Republic continue on stronger than ever."
