It was about a month or so after Xena, Gabrielle and the others returned to the village after the war between the Amazon's ended. Dispite the events everyone seemed to be moving on relatively well. Hoping that with time to horrible events surrounding the war would be forgotten. So life returned to normal for everyone within the village. It was a sunny day as Gabrielle sat on the steps of her and Xena's house. She smiled to herself as she looked out at the happy village. She then closed her eyes and just relaxed. After a bit Gabrielle's smile grew when she heard footsteps come up to stairs and move behind her. Gabrielle tilted her head up as she opened her eyes.
GABRIELLE
Hey.
She saw Xena standing behind her looking down at her.
XENA
Hey yourself.
Xena sat down on a step above Gabrielle and Gabrielle leaned against her as the two watched the villagers.
XENA
Whatcha doing over here by yourself?
GABRIELLE
Nothing. Just enjoying the scenery. Doing a little thinking.
XENA
What about?
GABRIELLE
Just how not long ago everything got so crazy, so fast.
XENA
Yeah.
GABRIELLE
I'm just glad things are finally returning back to normal.
XENA
Me too.
While Xena and Gabrielle talked, Amarice came walking over.
AMARICE
Hey Gabrielle, Xena.
Both Xena and Gabrielle greeted their friend.
AMARICE
Oh here this came for you Gabrielle.
Amarice handed Gabrielle a scroll.
XENA
(Joking) So have you been deligated to bringing us our messages now?
AMARICE
(Joking) Apparently. Hey at least this time I'm not interrupting anything.
XENA
(Joking) That you know of.
Gabrielle playfully slapped Xena's leg.
GABRIELLE
(Joking) You're awful.
Amarice smiled as she shook her head.
AMARICE
I've got other stuff to do so I'll catch you guys later.
Amarice walked off as Gabrielle looked at the scroll she just received.
XENA
Huh it's got the same seel as the last letter you got from the council.
GABRIELLE
There's only two left right?
XENA
Yeah Gianna and Luna. And they were the two on your side during everything that went down.
GABRIELLE
Wonder what they want.
Gabrielle opened the scroll and read it out loud.
SCROLL
Queen Gabrielle,
We of the council wish to thank you for all you've done for our people. We would also like to offer an official apology for what transpired during the summit. It was most regrettable how things played out during the meeting and we hope you can forgive our foolishness for the things that were said.
Xena scoffed when Gabrielle got to that part.
XENA
Regrettable my ass. The way they treated you was more like you were on trial than attending a summit.
Gabrielle patted Xena's leg as she continued reading.
SCROLL
We have since learned the truth behind the tragic events leading up to the war. During the final day of battle, The goddess Artemis graced us with her presence and explained that the true culprit behind everything was her brother the god of war, Ares. Which as she explained was due to some sort of vendetta that he had against you and the warrior princess, Xena. It would seem that we were all merely pawns in the gods scheme. But thanks to you, our allies and Artemis herself it appears as though Ares plans failed. We are now in the process of reforming a better council. One that is much more in tuned to our people. And you queen Gabrielle have our upmost respect and support. We are currently settling back in the sacred tree that Artemis has graciously restored in its entirety.
XENA
(Slightly Irritated) Why didn't she just do that when it happened? She could've stopped the whole war from even happening to begin with.
GABRIELLE
You know how sneaky Ares can be. I'm sure he probably found some way to hide it from her.
XENA
(Sighing) You're probably right. I am definitely not gonna miss him just popping up at random times for a while.
GABRIELLE
You and me both.
Gabrielle continued reading.
SCROLL
If you ever find yourself in need of anything please do not hesitate to call on us. You have more than proven yourself a worthy queen to our people and you will have our aid and support should you ever need it. We wish you well and may Artemis continue to watch over you.

Gabrielle smiled as she looked up at Xena.
GABRIELLE
It seems like everything worked out in the end.
XENA
Looks that way. And now that your name is cleared of those ridiculous accusations we can just relax and enjoy life in the village.
GABRIELLE
Sounds like a plan to me.
Xena and Gabrielle spent the rest of the day with their friends. Most of which were in awe and envious of Gabrielle and Xena actually meeting Artemis.
FAUNA
So what's Artemis like?
GABRIELLE
She's quite kind and beautiful. With long, flowing brown hair and grey eyes. She wore a leather headband with feathers and was dressed in a leather top with no sleeves and a small piece of golden chest armor. She had a fur wrap that hangs on her waist. Under which she wore tight brown pants with a gold color pattern up the leg. Along gold colored boots and gauntlets. And on her back she carried her bow and arrows. It really was incredible to see her in person.
SKYLA
Luckyyyy.
CLOVER
You and Xena always seem to get to have all the fun.
KAI
You can say that again.
IRIS
True. Things certainly haven't been lacking excitement since the two of you arrived here.
GABRIELLE
Well if you ask me I think I've had enough excitement for a while.
Everyone at the table they were sitting at laughed.
AMARICE
Oh please Gabrielle if things were just normal for you and Xena we all know that you'd both be so bored you wouldn't know what to do with yourselves.
XENA
Hey it's not completely our fault trouble seems to follow us anywhere we go.
EPHANY
(Joking) More like you two see trouble up ahead and run right for it.
Xena shot Ephany a disappointing look as the group laughed. Meanwhile Valassca who was sitting at the table across from the group rolled her eyes as she returned to reading her scroll.
GABRIELLE
Valassca why don't you join us?
Valassca glanced up at Gabrielle for a movement.
VALASSCA
I'm fine here. I have no desire to join your rowdy little group.
SKYLA
(Joking tone) Hey that's not nice. Fauna and Iris aren't rowdy.
The group laughed as Valassca sighed and got up.
VALASSCA
(Muttering to herself) Why I thought this was a good spot to read is beyond me.
Valassca walked away as Skyla looked at the others.
SKYLA
Was it something I said?
XENA
Nah she's just always like that.
Skyla shrugged as everyone carried on with the fun conversation. As it got late everyone parted ways. The sun was low and the sky had begun to become dark when Xena and Gabrielle walked through the village arm in arm.
GABRIELLE
This place looks amazing even at night, doesn't it Xena?
XENA
Sure dose.
GABRIELLE
Hey you wanna go sit by the waterfall for a while?
XENA
Don't see why not.
Gabrielle and Xena went and sat by the falls. Gabrielle smiled as she watched the fireflies dance around them. Xena held her arms around Gabrielle as she gave her a small kiss.
XENA
You know I'm pretty sure no one else is coming over here tonight.
Gabrielle smiled already knowing what Xena was getting at.
GABRIELLE
Mmm a little swim sounds good to me.
After the two got out of their clothing, Gabrielle yelped and laughed as Xena grabbed her from behind and swiftly picked her up. After kissing Gabrielle's neck and shoulders few moments, Xena walked them into the water. The pair stood in the cool water that came up to Xena's chest. Gabrielle smiled as she looked at Xena, knowing that no matter what she would always have Xena heart. She reached up and lowered Xena's face towards her as they met for a passionate kiss. Gabrielle felt Xena run her hands up her stomach and over her boobs. She sighed happily as Xena continued to massage her chest. Gabrielle then began to let her hands roam Xena's body as well. Gabrielle chuckled as they got dressed and headed home. The Amazon queen and her warrior princess entered their home and made their way to bed. A weight finally lifted off Gabrielle's shoulders with things returning to normal once again. As only time would tell whether there would be any lasting impact of what would become known as the great Amazon war. But for now there was peace. As years from then people would still be telling stories of what happened during the great campaign within the domain.
