This plot has been stuck in my brain for weeks and I can't help but post it. This is my first ever fic and so I ain't really confident in writing skills but I'll try to do my best. Well, this story follows the ending of DBZ when Goku left once again to train little Uub. As I've said, I ain't really a professional writer, but I've wrote plenty of stories but those written in my language. So if you notice grammatical errors and typos, you may notify me. Thank you.

Chapter 1

After 10 years since Goku and Vegeta defeated Buu, Goku went away to train Uub - leaving Chichi and Goten alone in their tiny house in Mount Paozu. Chichi was used to him leaving and not even explaining himself. She got used to being alone and not having a husband at all. Throughout those seven years - raising Gohan and Goten alone, she felt like she was being punished by God for being a nagging wife. She have always wanted to be the perfect wife, the best wife, but too bad, she was never like that. She realized what she lacks in maternal and even marital matter.

Sometimes, she wonders if Goku had even think about her for once in his life. Thinking about it, maybe, he did really care about her but not how much he cared about fighting. She had to admit that her husband's addiction to fighting gets to her all the time, but she loved Goku the way he is. The reason why no matter how she tried to restrain him, he would still do things on his own. Sometimes, it hurts loving him but she can't do anything. She fell in love with Goku. End of the story.

Chichi hadn't seen Goku since he left with Uub. So when she suddenly appeared in front of her after years of training that Uub kid, she doesn't know how to react in front of him.

After 4 years of living with Uub, Goku suddenly rushed in front of their old home - looking so young and mighty. He seemed to be living in after life and nit in a small village occupied by people like Uub. Chichi was stunned the moment she saw him again for 4 years. Those 4 years, he never really came home, not even once. Maybe, he went to Gohan or even meet with Goten, but she had never seen him for those years. Gohan would always explained that Goku was just scared to talk to her and so he never really bothered her. His alibi is ridiculous!

Seeing him in flesh, smelling his natural scent - sent her to another dimension. Memories of yesterdays flashed in her mind, one by one. Those memories she had with him, both agonies and euphorias came into her mind. No doubt, no matter how many times Goku went away, no matter how many times he left her she would always find herself - waiting for him at the corner.

Has he decided to come home? Has he realized that staying and training with Uub isn't that necessary? That there's more important in life than training? Is he coming back for good? Those thoughts filled her mind. She can't think properly. In fact, she was just staring at Goku who was also looking at her like she's some kind of a joke.

"Goku... " Finally, his name went out of her lips.

Tears strung her eyes. Oh, she missed him so much. She can't believe she's seeing him in flesh.

"Chi --"

She cut him off by hugging him - as tightly as she could. Goku stopped moving before encircling his strong arms to her waist. Chichi smiled. She is contented with this hug. Who knows when will this be ever happening again?

After a minute of doing nothing - just hugging, Goku pushed her lightly and she gaped at him.

"Chichi, is Goten here?"

The smile on her lips has slowly faded. Chichi expected him to ask her how is she doing. Of course, as his wife, she expected him to at least check on her. She sighed. Of course, this is is her husband. He cared about his sons more than anything. More than her. Pain started enveloping her system.

"He's at school."

She looked away and went to the kitchen - trying to busy herself because suddenly she was not comfortable with Goku's presence. It's ironic how she wanted to see him, but right now, she suddenly wanted him to get away as far as he can.

Goku followed her all the way to the kitchen. He seemed to be in hurry and she concluded that he will leave before she knows it. Again. Typical Goku.

"I was about to use Instant transportation to him but I realized he won't like it. So, I came here to check on him."

Chichi stopped doing her kitchen chores and decided to face him. There must be something so crucial that he needed to check on Goten. She knew Goku. He won't be here just to check on Goten and Gohan. There must be something behind this.

"Tell me, why are you looking for Goten? He is doing his thesis now! I don't want you disturbing him out of your maniacal spars. I tell you, Goku! Goten is very busy!" Her voice is stern and she started sending daggers and glares towards his direction.

Goku can only scratch the back of his neck - smiling awkwardly. He must be having a hard time fighting the urge to tell her what's going on, well that's what Chichi thought. He looked away.

"Well, Chichi, this is really important. I need to talk to Goten. If he'll be home, tell him to meet me at Capsule Corp."

Her eyes widened at the mention of the corp but before she could even yell at him, he used instant transportation to wherever he want to go. The words she wanted to yell at him died down in her throat.

What the hell is going on? Why is Goku looking for Goten? Normally, Goku and his friends would only go to Capsule Corp whenever they were trying to figure out something or whenever they were plotting a plan, or whenever something bad will descend upon the planet.

When Goten arrived after 30 minutes since Goku left, she told him to go to Capsule Corp to meet his dad. Goten rushes to Capsule Corp and is not even able to change his clothes. Chichi shook her head. When it comes to Goku, Gohan and Goten would always forget things, they just fly to their father in speed of light.

It was already around evening when Goten and Gohan arrived at their small house. It startled Chichi because usually, Goten would only be out for an hour and he would always make sure that he will be home to her earlier than possible.

She found Gohan and Goten in a rush. Gohan is helping his little brother in changing his clothes.

"What's going on Gohan? Why are the two of you in a rush?"

Gohan looked at her and she can't explain the emotion playing in his eyes. Goten on the other hand didn't even give her a glance - too busy putting on his orange Gi.

"Gotta explain later, mom but we really need to go."

No, her mind screamed!

Chichi rushed to Goten's side and before her son can step a foot, she was immediate enough to refrain his movements. Goten looked at her with a pleading eyes - telling her to let him go for once. Chichi knew how controlling of a mother she is, but right now, she feels like something is off.

"Mom, please..." Goten pleaded. He looked at her with those puffy eyes - trying his best to request something she can never give.

She looked at Gohan who was having the same puffy eyes. Now, the two of them were pleading her. She was trying to think of something that would come up to this situation. Why are they in a rush just right after Goku arrived?

Her eyes widened. No need for explanation. Chich found out what's going on. Goku just came back to take Goten with him - leaving his thesis at school. The idea enrages her and suddenly she wanted to burst. That Goku! How dare he!

"No, Goten! Just where the hell are you going? You promised to finish your thesis this semester!"

She grabbed Gohan's shoulder using her other free hand - cornering her sons at place.

"My thesis can wait, but this can't. Please, understand."

Chichi shook her head instead. Her head is throbbing with all the things that kept coming since this morning.

The door went opened - revealing Vegeta, Piccolo and Goku. It was Goku who was holding the knob and shock washed over him when he saw Chichi sending daggers at him. Her eyes says she was mad.

Chichi let go of her hold to Gohan and Goten and went straight to Goku's direction before grabbing him by the collar of his orange gi - dragging him inside their house.

"So, this is all your doing! You came here to take Goten away from me and then for what!? Leave me miserable alone in this house?!" She started yelling at him.

"Isn't it enough that you left us for Uub and now, you're taking Goten too?!" Tears started coming out of her eyes - realizing she was so stressed about this whole set up for years and she needed to burst - even for once.

Goku held her hand lightly before putting out her grip on him.

"Chichi, I was not planning to take Goten away from you. We just have to do something very important. It's a life mission and I can't do it alone. I needed our sons' strength in this fight." He tried to explain but Chichi's mind can't take anything that moment, especially at the mention of "fights". All along, it's all about that word. Everything is about that word!! Nothing matters but that word. She was so mad and no words can convince her right now!

She pushed Goku away from her and looked at him with all the anger she carried for years.

"Kakarot, just tell her the truth and so we can all go! We don't have the time in the world to be gawking at each other. We're wasting our time here!!" Yelled Vegeta.

Chichi's eyes went to him, the saiyan prince just glared at her in return.

"Truth? What are you trying to say?" She uttered - trying to find an answer to Vegeta.

"Well, woman you see the whole multiverse is on the verge of falling and the supreme priest called for us to save it." Vegeta blurted out - not refrained. He spilled the tea.

Chichi looked at Krilin and Piccolo who are also with them outside their house.

"Yes, Chichi. The whole multiverse is in chaos. We still don't have an idea what's going on, but we are really in a hurry." Krilin seconded.

Chichi bit her tongue. She wanted to say something. She wanted to voice out something. But thinking about what she wanted to say, she'll only sound ridiculous.

"You can go Goku, but you can't take Gohan and Goten. No, I won't let you take the two of them somewhere who knows where. I don't care if the world, or the universes will fall! I won't let you take the two of them! Go with your friends, but you're not taking my sons!"

Now, she knew she did really sound ridiculous but who cares? They're taking two of her sons! She can't let them go. No! Never! Se once let go of Gohan and he ended up almost dying. She once let Gohan fought Cell and that ended to Goku passing. If Goku hadn't sacrificed himself, Gohan would have died. She once let Goten and Trunks fought Majin Buu but out of frustration about Gohan's news death, she died.

"Chichi, are you crazy?" Came Bulma in the picture, who pushed her husband aside and entered the house. She realized Videl and 18 are both outside as well. Why is Videl letting Gohan go with them? Is she insane? She's sending her husband outside space to fight monsters.

"The whole universe will fall without your sons' help! Wake up! I can't believe your ridiculousness!"

Bulma glared at her before gesturing Goku and her boys to go but Chichi was fast enough to held Goten's arms.

"Mom, don't make it any harder for me. I am not a kid anymore. You don't expect me to just cling on to you forever!"

"You have to finish your thesis! You're about to graduate!"

Chichi find herself - uttering nonsense. The thesis! That's the only thing she can say.

"Who cares about that, mom?!"

Her hold on Goten loosen just right after hearing how his voice sounded. Tears stung her eyes as she eyed her son - who just raised his voice on her. She couldn't believe it. Goten will never raise his his voice on her. This is not her Goten. This isn't Goten.

"The world is in chaos! What's the point of graduating if the world will end?!"

She shook her head - tears streamed down her face. Goten was not even showing any signs of regret with the way he yells. It felt like, he had been keeping this outburst inside him for a long time and this time, it went out.

Goten went near her - eyeing her with the emotion she can't name. Since, when did Goten grew up like this? He changed so much and she wonders when this change happened. She was too busy dealing with her own pain without even knowing that Goten grew up and changed into a fine young man.

"For once, let me do things on my own. No wonder, Gohan didn't come back to you, when he can because you are too hard on him! --"

"Goten!" Gohan scolded Goten when his little brother started making their mother remember painful memories of years ago. Chichi on the other hand couldn't move. Goten had hit her where it hurt the most. The memories of losing her 5 year old son and not being able to hold him for half a year made her insane. She thought, she lost her mind during those times. Gohan have confessed to her, on how he was about to go home, but decided not to. He told her that he didn't come home for he was thinking about his Dad. And so, he continued his self-training alone in the woods with animals. It must have been hard for he was just a kid who knew nothing about the world. Gohan grew up since then. Chichi didn't really know that maybe... Maybe.. It was her who pushed Gohan away.

Her heart hurts and she's having a hard time breathing. The tears in her eyes kept falling like water falls.

"All my life, I have been doing everything that pleases you because I know how much that meant to you. I took physics because you wanted a scientist for a son, and even when I struggled solving those equations, I never give up because I wanted to make you happy!"

"I wanted to give you the best." She heard Goten's small voice. It breaks her heart to listen to his voice - sounding so disappointed and in pain. Disappointed at her, and probably the reason why he was hurting right now.

Goten's outburst shook her world and she didn't know what to feel. He looked too hurt and in pain and she didn't have an idea how to ease his pain. One thing is for sure, she knew, all those pains he was feeling right now, was caused by her. Her and her tantrums all along. Her and her controlling nature. Her and her protective self.

But was it wrong to be protective of her sons? Was it wrong to worry about them?

The whole house was silent as they all listened to Goten's pains. Gohan was watching his mother's face, Goku who was just looking at Goten. Even Bulma and the others didn't say a thing.

"I've always wanted to train in martial arts and be like Dad. I wanted to save people. I wanted to travel around the universe and met a lot of strong beings. I always wanted to go away..."

"... But I couldn't because I was afraid you'll lose it. I know you've been depressed about Dad leaving, but that doesn't mean, I would do the same thing." Goten looked away from her before looking at everyone around them. Voice as low as the breathing of everyone.

Chichi wiped away her tears. Realization hit her hard. All this time, it was all her fault. Probably, the reason why Goku kept on leaving them was all because of her. Maybe it was her fault. No, it is really her fault for being too nagging, for being too hard on the three of them.

"I just wanted to protect you, Goten." She said.

"No, Mom. You're just protecting yourself! You're just afraid of being left behind. I know, this didn't start with Dad. It started way back when you were still young, when your mom left you."

The memories of losing her mom flashed to her eyes and the pain came back. The pain of not being to see her mother as she grew up came back like a lightning. It struck her and she can't breathe. She tried calming her nerves but to no avail, her ribcage seemed to be in a tight grip. She would always wonder how it felt to have a mother, to have someone who will love and cherish you the way you wanted to be cherished. She wondered how it felt to have someone brush your hair, to have someone to feed you, to have someone who takes care of you cause she had never experienced those. She promised herself that she would do anything for her off springs and so when Gohan was born, she was too protective of him. Too protective.

Maybe.. Maybe she went too far. Now, she can't blame anyone but herself.

When she finally found herself - still breathing, she looked at Gohan and Goten who were both looking at her - mirroring the emotions she had in her eyes.

"I guess, I can't do anything?" Her voice is very low cause she was afraid, she'll just stop them again. She doesn't want to stop them anymore.

"Can y'all stop this drama already? We're running out of time!" Vegeta shouted and Chichi was more than thankful that he intervened. The deafening silent was almost killing her.

"Kakarot, get your shit together and fix whatever you need to fix in your fcked up of a family after this battle!!" Vegeta then yelled before storming out somewhere.

Other Z-fighters followed him - leaving Goten, Gohan, Goku. Bulma looked at her with pity before following the rest.

Chichi's eyes went to Goten who only glanced at her once before leaving her. For awhile, she knew Goten wanted to apologize or something but he was too shy to do so. She smiled sadly before gazing up to her eldest.

"Take care of Goten, Gohan."

"I will, mom. I'm so sorry for his behavior. I'll talk to him later."

She reached for Gohan's cheek and her eldest leaned down to her touch. Gohan will always be the sweetest and she loves him and Goten so much.

"Take care of yourself, mom! We will be back for you. You just have to wait for us and we'll certainly come home to you."

She smiled sadly. For how long is she going to wait for them? She doesn't want to think of the worst possibilities but she can't help it. She had a bad feeling about this battle. She will just pray that all of them arrive home safe and sound. Even if it means, the three of them will eventually drift away from her, she will swallow the pain, as long as they come home safe. She'd trade her life for their safety.

She nodded her head to Gohan and for the nth time, she let him go. Watching his steps away from her, she realized how she would never get used to seeing them walking away from her. Goten and Gohan is her life. When Gohan married Videl, she cried so hard - thinking of how Gohan grew into a fine young and that he was about to build a family of his own. She cried watching him - getting married cause she won't be taking care of him from that then on, cause Videl will do the job.

"Chichi--" Goku wanted to say something but she stopped him.

With a trembling lips, she said: "I will never forgive you if something happen to Gohan and Goten. I don't care if you don't come back breathing, just make sure, my boys will come home to me alive and breathing."

She watched how pain crossed Goku's eyes but she couldn't care less. For now, her everything is her sons and nothing more. Goku would always leave her anyway. She's done waiting for him. She's done waiting for him to come home.
