AN: Hey, y'all. I decided to write this one-shot because I haven't written a fanfic for Smallville. I do apologize for it being so short and if the characters seem slightly out of character. I'll do better when I write a Lana Lang x Chloe Sullivan fanfic.
Now on with the story.

Clark sighed as he tried to fall asleep. He had been laying in bed next to his sleeping wife, Lois, for the last four hours. He was beyond tired. Even though he was a Kryptonian, he did get worn out from time to time, and not just mentally, but also physically.
He had a very long day. He had to write an article about President Lex Luthor and whatever he was planning on doing. A new villain showed up, who tried to blow up the entire city of Metropolis and he stopped him, but the villain, a man named Carris Petrusevska who had become the new Firefly killed himself. Clark was unable to save him. Clark knew that he couldn't save everyone, but that didn't mean he couldn't try his best to do so.
As he was about to fall asleep, he heard his phone ring. He groaned softly. He had a feeling he knew who it was. Clark grabbed at his phone, picking it and looking at it. It was Batman. He answered it.
"What's going on? Don't tell me that another new villain is trying something." Clark said. He loved being Superman and a hero to boot, he didn't love whenever new bad guys showed out of the blue. That was a real pain in his ass.
"I'm sorry, but that's pretty much it. There's a whole group this time. They're threatening to take out Central City. The Flash is already. We need you here now. I wouldn't call you if I didn't have any other choice." Batman aka Bruce Wayne said. He had to contact Clark. He needed his help. Badly.
"I understand. I'll be there soon." Clark replied. He got out of bed, kissed Lois softly on her forehead, left a note on her bedside table, letting her know what was going on. And less than five minutes later, he was wearing his Superman suit, flying towards where the rest of the Justice League would be.

Superman and the other members of the Justice League managed to stop the bad guys in Central City. But it did come at a great cost with two heroes losing their lives during the huge battle. Two days later, the funerals for the fallen heroes were held.
