SHORT AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I am adding this author's note in after writing episode 15 of this story. I have remembered multiple times and remembered once again that there is a weird age discrepancy between Annie and Roman, Felix and Roman, Joan and Kai, etc. When I was writing IFC, Annie was born about 3 years before any of the others. With Annie now being 17/18 in the story, that age discrepancy makes things a bit weird to have romantic relationships between them. To be completely honest, I just started writing and imagined them all as the same age. So, my executive decision as the author is to now declare that all of the Hargreeves' siblings' children are the same age. I did not intend for such a strange age discrepancy problem to appear, and I should have written a note to take care of it earlier. Thanks for the understanding!
Nevertheless, I will provide a brief description of my original characters, their backstories, and the general situation the story starts out in. Characters like Klaus, Vanya, Diego etc. are not my own, but belong to Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba in their entirety. Annie, Roman, Quinn, Joan, Kai, Lucas, and Lewis belong to me.
The artwork for this story was done by piquestbrd on Fiverr, so a big thanks to him for bringing these characters to life.
Anyways, now for an introduction of the general plot/character schemes.
-This story is set eighteen years after the Hargreeves siblings return home from Dallas at the end of season two. I in no way expect season three to follow this story (or In Full Color) in any way, so you can consider it an AU type story.
-The entire Hargreeves family (now new and expanded obviously) now lives in the Hargreeves Manor. Five is the 'leader' you might say of the family, and is in charge of the children's training. He is in no way like Sir Reginald Hargreeves in this manor, but runs this new 'umbrella academy' with the children's best interests truly in mind.
-Allison and Luther are married, and have been for sixteen years. They have two children, Roman and Quinn, who will be detailed further in this introduction.
-Five and Dolores (a real life girl, just so you know), another one of the 43 born on October 1st, 1989, are married. They have three children Lucas, Lewis, and Joan. Soon after they were married, there was a mishap which transported them back in time to the Tudor era, where Dolores was assaulted by King Henry VIII and became pregnant with their daughter, Joan. Joan is one of the main six and will be detailed later in this discussion.
-After returning home from Dallas, Klaus won the lottery and moved to Bali, Indonesia, where he had a run in with two commission agents (unbeknownst to him at the time) who were in disguise as college students, their real mission being to keep an eye on him, as the commission was keeping tabs on the entire Hargreeves family. Later on, he found out he had a daughter, the product of the very confusing beach party where he met these two agents, the daughter of the female commission agent, Brunhilda. They dropped the girl, who Klaus named Annie, off to herr father where Klaus raised her for two years alone and then moved back to his family.
-Vanya now owns a music store, and has written several children's books based on the kids. She has a dog named Harlan. She has a strong relationship with all the kids and is their favorite aunt.
-Diego is still traumatized by many things. At the end of the last season of In Full Color, he lost Lila after a battle in which she tried to murder all of the kids (who were newborn babies and a toddler at the time). She had bluffed that he wouldn't hurt her because she was pregnant with his child, which the family blew off as a lie and disposed of her without regard. Diego is haunted to this day, wondering if she had truly been lying or not. Beneath his hard outer shell, Diego is a softie for all the kids and enjoys occasionally taking them camping or on trips. He has been very influential on all of them and cares deeply for them and their wellbeing. He now works as a volunteer firefighter in the city and has for several years.
-Lila had wanted to destroy the kids before they could grow up because the timeline, as shown by the Infinite Switchboard, had them growing up to destroy the entire Temps Commission, and in turn, killing her. After the Handler's death at the end of season two, Lila had been placed as the new Handler by the leaders of the Commission. In 'In Full Color', Lila tricked Diego into helping her with her plan, knowing he would hate the idea of a new class of the Umbrella Academy. He didn't follow through, and the family got rid of her.
-The Children (Annie, Roman, Quinn, Kai, and Joan) have spent their lives perfecting their abilities. It is nowhere as intensive as the original Umbrella Academy had it. Whereas Luther, Diego and the others grew up with no freetime, now relaxation, and no normal life, these kids have a decently normal life, aren't traumatized by their upbringing, and their training is only one part of their life, not the whole of it.
Now that the plot is set up, I'll detail the six main original characters a bit.
A. Annie The Mojo
Full name : Annie Gloria Gaynor Hargreeves
She is the daughter of Klaus Hargreeves and a commission agent named Brunhilda Schnieder. She has the ability to commune with the dead like her father, and also to give and take life with a touch of her palms (at the cost of falling into a 24 hour coma anytime she does it). She may also materialize ghosts (which she did for Ben, which is important to Kai's story), but this power does not work, however, if she was the one responsible for their death originally.
Personality wise, she's basically just like Klaus, without the drug history. And female. She likes rock music, volleyball, and the color black.
B. Joan The Ember
Full name : Joan Elizabeth Hargreeves
The daughter of Five and Dolores Hargreeves (though her biological father is the Tudor King Henry VIII, via sexual assault on her mother in a time travelling mishap.) Five has raised her as his own daughter. She has fire powers (just as her mother Dolores does), and a photographic memory.
Personality wise, she is like Five, but more calm. She can have a temper (those redheads! jk), but is also really good under pressure and knows how to hold it together. She is great at manipulation, if need be. She enjoys reading and history. She is intrigued by her Tudor family heritage, but feels guilty and feels a need to hide her interest for fear that it might hurt Five's feelings (as he knows he isn't her real father).
C. Quinn The Muscle
Full Name: Quinn Alex Hargreeves
The daughter of Luther and Allison Hargreeves, the twin sister of Roman. She has super strength just like Luther, and as a smaller side power, can talk to apes. She is super laid back and chill, but doesn't shy away from a fight if she feels her loved ones are threatened. Her and Allison tend to squabble a bit, because their personalities and outlooks are just so different. She's like Luther, but not whiny and annoying. (if that leaves anything, lol).
D. Roman The Whisper
Full Name: Roman Luther Hargreeves
Roman is just an all around sweetheart. Shy, but charming. The son of Allison and Luther, and the twin brother of Quinn. He has the ability to completely take over someone's mind, filling their brain with his own consciousness. It's like Allison's rumoring ability, but on steroids.
He's an absolute heartthrob. Annie and him have become like the 'new' Allison and Luther as they were as kids, and Klaus absolutely loves it. He likes music (probably because of how much time he spends with his aunt Vanya) and the outdoors. Sort of a loner, but not weird. Introverted, but definitely has social skills.
E. Kai The Typhoon
Full Name: Kai Aristotle Hargreeves
The son of Ben and a deceased Hawaiian girl. Annie, as a young toddler, had used her powers accidentally and reincarnated Ben. With his new body and newfound freedom, Ben set off to travel the world. He met a woman in Hawaii, fell in love, got married, had a son, and then the woman died in a car accident and he moved him and Kai back to his family. Kai has the ability to control water and the seas, and to communicate with sea/marine creatures.
Kai is a lot like Roman, but with a tad bit more of an edge. He can be cocky sometimes, definitely not as humble as Roman. But at heart, he's a good guy and wants the best for those he loves, and would fight for them if need be. He enjoys the outdoors, doing really well in everything academic, and playing volleyball.
Lucas
Full Name: Lucas Thomas Hargreeves
The son of Five and Dolores Hargreeves, the twin brother of Lewis. He had his dad's spatial and time jumping abilites. He was just like a mini Five, just as if you cloned his father to make him. But now, he's a ghost, for reasons that will be revealed in this story.
