Okay, I have been thinking about this for a long time, but I decided to write one of my ideas for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. Now, this is my first time writing these characters so it will take me a while to get used to writing them. I remember at the end of Season 1 when Kobayashi decided to visit her family and ended up inviting Tohru and Kanna to go with her. They did and the episode ended. While I'm fine with the way Season 1 ended, I couldn't help but wonder how the meeting would go. I'm sure lots of people have their own ideas of how it went and I decide to write mine version. Oh, and since Kobayashi's first name was never told, though I could have sworn I saw her possible first name somewhere, I will just go with a random first name for her. So here's how I think the meeting between Kobayashi's family went.

"I'm home."

Kobayashi smiles as she remembers her childhood home. It has been a long time since she was last here. She turned to see Tohru and Kanna take off their shoes before she heard someone walk up.

"Oh! Honey! What a surprise!" Her mother said, surprised to see her daughter.

"Hey, mom," Kobayashi said, smiling.

"And who are your friends?" Her mother asked.

"Greetings, Mrs. Kobayashi. I'm Tohru, Miss Kobayashi's maid." Tohru said, bowing.

"Oh? You hired a maid?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked, surprised.

"Yeah. She a bit of a hand full, but she does a great job around the apartment." Kobayashi smiles.

"And who are you, little one?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"Kanna," Kanna said, causing Mrs. Kobayashi to smile.

"Well, aren't you a cutie?" She said, rubbing Kanna's head.

"Kanna lives with us," Kobayashi said, surprising her mother.

"Oh? You took her in?" Her mother asked.

"Yeah. She didn't have anywhere to go, so I invited her to stay with us." Kobayashi said.

"Oh? And how old are you sweetie?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"9," Kanna said, remembering that she could use her real age.

"My goodness!? 9?!" Mrs. Kobayashi asked, shocked.

"It's a long story," Kobayashi said, not knowing how to explain that her new friends were actually Dragons.

"Kobayashi takes good care of me," Kanna said.

"Yeah. I do." Kobayashi said, seeing her mother coo over Kanna.

"Well, I hope you're not causing too much trouble for her." Mrs. Kobayashi said before getting up.

"Anyways, I'm getting some meals ready. Would you like to have some?" She asked.

"Sure. The train trips were kind of long." Kobayashi said, feeling a bit hungry.

"Would you like some help? A maid must serve everyone." Tohru asked.

"Would you? I might have made too much again and getting the table ready is a hustle." Mrs. Kobayashi said, sighing.

"Where dad?" Kobayashi asked.

"He's at work. He should be getting home soon." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

Kobayashi nodded before following her mother into the living room.

"Your mother is very nice, Miss Kobayashi," Tohru said.

"Thanks, but please remember..." She started.

"Don't worry, I'll be on my best behavior," Tohru said, sounding confident.

Kobayashi smiles and nodded. She then notices Kanna walking around the living room, looking amazed at the house. Kobayashi had a feeling that this visit was going to be great.

Later,

Kanna was surprised when Kobayashi took her to her old room.

"This is my old room. I stay here when I was little." Kobayashi said, looking around.

'Wow, I'm surprised that mom and dad didn't change anything since I moved out.' She thought before seeing Kanna running up to her old bed.

"Oh." She said, looking around the room.

Kanna then spotted a picture on the dresser. It had Kobayashi and her parents when she was younger.

"Kobayashi." She said, making the young woman turn to her.

"Is this you?" Kanna asked, pointing to the picture.

"Yep. I don't much different, huh?" She said, looking at the picture.

"I found a book of you when we were moving. Lady Tohru seems to like it." Kanna said.

"Yeah. I saw how she was acting before I remind you two about what we were supposed to be doing." Kobayashi said, sighing.

"And we remind you when you were reading," Kanna said, surprising Kobayashi.

"Right." She said, embarrass they caught her at the time.

Kanna then walks up to the bed and climbs on it.

"Wow, it's soft," Kanna said, sinking into the bed a bit.

"Yeah. It was the best mattress my parents could get at the time." Kobayashi said, smiling.

"Oh, there you are."

Both Kobayashi and Kanna turned to see Mrs. Kobayashi walking into the room.

"Hey, Mom, just showing Kanna around," Kobayashi said.

"I see. Your maid is very kind and very good at her job. I'm happy for you." Mrs. Kobayashi said, smiling.

"Thanks. Tohru does a good job." Kobayashi smiles.

"Oh? Sounds like you're close to her." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"Well, she is my friend," Kobayashi said.

"Oh? She speaks highly of you. Said that you save her life." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"Um, yeah I did," Kobayashi said, hoping Tohru didn't tell her she was a dragon.

"And she told me that you offer her to stay with you. That's very sweet." Mrs. Kobayashi added, smiling more.

"Yeah," Kobayashi said, looking away.

'Though I made that promise by accident. I don't regret it, however.' She added in thought.

"Anyways, your father will be home soon. Care to join us downstairs?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"Sure. Ready, Kanna?" Kobayashi said, then ask the young dragon.

"Yeah," Kanna said, hopping off the bed.

She then took Kobayashi's hand, surprising her for a second. Kobayashi just smiles and walks with the young dragon back downstairs.

"My, my, I was hoping to have a grandchild one day, but I see that young girl really loves my little maid." Mrs. Kobayashi said, smiling before following them.

Later, Dinner,

"Wow! This looks good!" Tohru said as she looked at the food.

"Thank you. I get a bit carried away in cooking at times." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"It's how you won me over." Mr. Kobayashi said, chuckling.

Everyone gave a small prayer before eating their food.

"So, where did you two meet?" Mr. Kobayashi asked his daughter and maid.

"Um, well..." Kobayashi said, trying to figure out to explain it.

"We meet in the mountains. I just got away from a pretty bad fight and was badly injured." Tohru said.

"A fight?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked, surprised.

"Yeah. I rather not go into detail about it. I was stabbed with a sword and I escaped." Tohru said, surprising them.

"A sword?" Mr. Kobayashi asked.

"Yeah, then I meet Miss Kobayashi, and she pulled it out of me. I tried to warn her that the sword was dangerous, but she pull it out without any trouble." Tohru said.

"Really?" Mrs. Kobayashi said, looking at her daughter.

"Well, I did do that. I wasn't sure what I thinking at the time, but..." Kobayashi said, hoping her parents weren't too mad at her.

"She invited me to drink and we started talking. That's when she offered me to live with her as her personal maid." Tohru said.

"I see." Mrs. Kobayashi said, surprised.

"I decided to rest up first before trying to find her. It turned out that she had completely forgotten about it the next morning until I helped remind her." Tohru added.

"She did, huh?" Mr. Kobayashi said, looking at his daughter.

"I..." Kobayashi said, feeling like a child again.

"Oh, honey, please tell me you didn't get drunk again." Mrs. Kobayashi said, sighing.

Kobayashi looks down, making both of her parents sigh.

"Honey, we told you to be careful about how much you drink." Mrs. Kobayashi said, sighing again.

"Sorry," Kobayashi said, not able to look at her parents.

"Still, I'm very grateful for what she's done and I have done my best to be a maid," Tohru added.

"Oh? You weren't a maid before?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"No, I was a traveler before. I didn't have much in maid skills until Miss Kobayashi taught me the basics." Tohru said.

"I see." Mr. Kobayashi said, thinking.

"What about you? How did you come to live with my daughter?" Mr. Kobayashi asked Kanna.

"Kobayashi let me stay with her after my parents banish me," Kanna said, surprising them even more.

"Banished?!" They shouted.

"Let me explain, Kanna's real parents thought that she would be able to grow on her own but Kanna wanted their attention. So she decides to pull pranks to get it. However, one of her pranks went too far and she was banished from her home until she learn her lesson." Tohru said.

"They kick her out because she pranks them?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked, shocked.

"Yes. I found Lady Tohru living with Kobayashi and she offers me to stay with them. Kobayashi has been taking good care of me." Kanna added.

"Yeah. I do." Kobayashi said, glad that they were both keeping the fact they were dragons a secret.

"Kobayashi has been like a mother to me," Kanna said.

"Though I'm not old enough to be her mom," Kobayashi said, looking away.

"From what I saw, you make a great mother." Mrs. Kobayashi said, smiling.

"Mom," Kobayashi said, looking down.

"Kobayashi even let me go to school," Kanna added.

"Is that so?" Mr. Kobayashi asked.

"Yeah. It's lots of fun! I made lots of friends too!" Kanna said, rising her hands.

"What grade are you in sweetie?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"3rd Grade. Class 2." Kanna said.

"Oh? And how are your classes?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"They're lots of fun!" Kanna said.

"Well, I'm glad to hear that you're doing better with our daughter." Mr. Kobayashi said, smiling.

"Yes, we're very proud of Melio." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"Meilo?" Tohru asked, confused.

"She didn't tell you her name?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"No. We always called her Kobayashi." Tohru said.

Kobayashi sighs. It wasn't that she hated her first name. She was never comfortable with other people using it. She really hopes that Tohru doesn't call her by her first name.

"Well, then, if that's what you want to call her, then we won't change your mind." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"Just know that we are trusting you to watch over her." Mr. Kobayashi added.

"Don't worry! I'll protect Miss Kobayashi with my life!" Tohru said, proudly.

"Let's not go that far," Kobayashi said, sighing.

"So, honey, how long are you staying?" Mrs. Kobayashi asked.

"Until tomorrow. My boss give me a few days off to visit you. The trip is long, and I want to make sure we're rested for the trip back." Kobayashi said.

"Okay. It's good to see you again after all these years." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"Yeah. It's good to see you too." Kobayashi said, smiling.

Kanna wanted to sleep in Kobayashi's old bed and Kobayashi didn't mind. She was too big for it anyways. However, there were no other rooms, and she wasn't thrilled to use one of her brother's rooms. So, Mrs. Kobayashi pulled out some sleeping bags for her and Tohru to use downstairs.

"If you two need anything, the kitchen is over here." Mrs. Kobayashi said.

"We'll be fine, mom," Kobayashi said, sighing.

"Very well. Oh, and Tohru?" She said before making the dragon maid look up.

"Yes, Mrs. Kobayashi?" She said.

"Shouldn't you remove your horns? Aren't they going to get in your way?" She asked.

"Oh, don't worry about it. My horns never get in the way of anything." Tohru said, cheerfully.

'At least Tohru is keeping her promise about being a dragon from my family. I'm not sure how mom and dad would react to learning that I'm living with real-life dragons.' Kobayashi thought.

"It funny, when Melio was a little girl she wanted to try having a sleepover. It seems she finally has the chance." Mrs. Kobayashi said, smiling.

"Yeah. Sleepover. Yay." Kobayashi said, hearing her first name again.

"Well, here. Just in case you get a little hungry." Mrs. Kobayashi said, placing a plate of cookies and two glasses of milk on the table next to them.

"Thanks, Mrs. Kobayashi." Tohru said.

"Yeah. Thanks, mom." Kobayashi said.

"Of course. Well, good night." Mrs. Kobayashi said before walking away.

Once her mother was gone, Kobayashi sighs. She knew her mother was being nice, but she seems to be treating her like a little girl again. But she wasn't upset by it.

"Wow, I think your mother is trying to spoil us," Tohru said, taking a cookie.

"Yeah, that's mothers for you," Kobayashi said, taking a cookie as well.

"Tohru?"

"Yes?"

"Thanks for not telling my parents that you're a dragon," Kobayashi said, smiling.

"Sure. You have a nice family." Tohru said, nodding.

Kobayashi looks around her old childhood home, feeling some old memories returning.

"Miss Kobayashi?"

She turns to Tohru and smiles.

"I'm fine. Just remembering a bit of my childhood." She said.

"Oh, right! Chibi Kobayashi. You were so cute." Tohru said, smiling.

Kobayashi sighs. But she knew that Torhu would have found out sooner or later.

"I'm a little sad we're be leaving tomorrow, but I understand." She said, eating another cookie.

"Yeah. Didn't plan on staying for too long, but at least I got to see them again." Kobayashi said.

"Kind of wish you got to meet my father differently," Tohru said, sighing.

"I won't lie. Your father scared me when I tried to speak up." Kobayashi said, remembering her first meeting with him.

"But I think I got him to understand that you're grown up and can make your own choices. Of course, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it again." She added.

"Well, don't worry. I'll make sure that won't happen again." Tohru said, recalling how scared Miss Kobayashi was when her father fired a warning shot.

Kobayashi then smiles before facing Tohru.

"But, I won't let you leave again. My life wasn't the same when you did. Kanna did her best, but it felt empty without you. The apartment, I mean." She said.

"I'm sorry for being gone for so long. I never wanted to leave you. I'm sorry about that." Tohru said.

Kobayashi smiles and started to pet her head, surprising her.

"I already forgave you, Tohru. I know I said it before, but welcome home." She said.

"It's good to be home," Tohru said, smiling.

The two stay up a bit more, eating the cookies and drinking the milk. It was almost like they met for the first time all over again.

And stopping here. So how was it? I couldn't come up with any names for Mr. and Mrs. Kobayashi, and I'll leave the looks of them to all your imagination. As I said at the top, I gave a random first name to Kobayashi since it was never told what her first name was. I still swore I read something that gave a possible first name, but I'm not too sure myself. I'm thinking that the next family member they'll meet will be one of the brothers I thought of. As far as I know, there wasn't any mention of siblings in both the anime or the manga. But I felt like I can do more. However, this is only one of many ideas I have for this series. And yes, I have thought of a crossover for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Danny Phantom. But I'm going to do that one later. Hope to see you all in the next chapter.
