The first battle of the final war.
Two ferocious men, locked in a bout to the death watched over by a pair of sisters.
The younger one, Goll, was cheering on one of the brave warriors in the ring, When she'd heard a ringing. That of a smartphone
"Brunhilde! Phones aren't allowed! Please put it away before you get in trouble!" She whined, Distracted from the bout. Only be thoroughly ignored by her sister. Who would check her phone. And reading through it, Suddenly her expression changed from one of neutrality to that of shock.
The full rosters of representatives between gods and man.
While she knew humanity's representatives, and thus blew over those in a heartbeat, The list of gods participating in the ragnarok got her about ready to quake in her boots.
"S-sis? Is something wrong?" Goll asked her dear elder sister. As Brunhilde wordlessly showed her the screen.

Goll would feel a sense of dread overcome her at the sight of the gods' warriors…
"That's a stacked list…" She said, before looking back at the humans, she had some curiosity about a couple of the names. "Huh? I never heard of this one… or the one right after him." She spoke, catching Brunhilde's attention.
"Huh?" she asked, Her face going from one of serious consideration for who to send out in what order against whom, To that of of a dopey teenager as she looked at her phone. Noticing the final two names on the list of human fighters. That dull face then changed to one of abject rage.
"What….The….FUCK?!" She shouted through gritted teeth in a panic.
Goll was shocked to see her sister response
"W-What do you mean? Didn't you pick the team yourself?" she asked, now thoroughly bewildered, To the point the pair were distracted from their current fighter, Lu bu being thoroughly at a disadvantage.
"I did! But not those two idiots!"
The two would hear a loud bang from down the hall, The hefty oaken door flying past them and being crushed against the stone wall opposite from where that door was.
"Awe! And here i was thinkin' we'd be gettin' a warm welcome!"Came a lighthearted cheery voice"Don't tell me you didn't miss me Brunhilde!"
The Valkyrie's face grew to annoyance while her younger sister was still about ready to wet herself from nearly being crushed between a hardwood door and the cobblestone that made up the building.
"There's no way i'll allow this you absolute buffoon!" Brunhilde shouted her lips warping into a ferocious scowl. "I chose the team i did for a reason! If i wanted you two fighting by my side i would have welcomed you to join in the first place!"
The soft voiced man laughed. "Well, things are set in stone now, yer not getting rid of us!"
Brunhilde sighed. "Alright, Even if that were the case, What happened to my other fighters?" Asked the valkyrie as Goll finally got her wits about her. And took to looking at the men,
As she took a look at the man joking and smiling, Her mind seemed to go blank. The voices around her became a blur as she observed him.
His body was lean but very obviously strong. His long hair seemed to be dyed in four sections, One golden blonde, One brown, One red, and one platinum blond, He had a face even girlier than Hlokk, with the most beautiful eyes she's ever seen.
Back in reality, The man would notice the young girl's face going red as a tomato.
"Ey hilde! Is yer sister sick or somethin?" He'd ask, As Brunhilde would look to Goll And immediately her annoyance would reach it's apex.
Of course this gods damned pretty boy had to barge in and leave his disgusting imprint on her impressionable mind…
"Goll , Don't be rude, " She said sternly, trying to keep a cool head about things. Her words did seem to get to her sister.
"Oh-Ug-uhm….Bueh" Said the red faced girl, flustered as all get out to be in the man's presence. Causing him to chuckle a bit
"Poor thing's so ill she can't even form a word." he said, scratching his head. As the other man made his way into the room proper.
"Cu, For as much of a playboy as you are you sure are dense. " He said calmly, Looking far more serious. He would turn his eyes to the elder sister of the pair of girls. "Brunhilde, It's been a moment." He said with a solemn voice.
Brunhilde would grumble at the other Irishman, But gave him a courteous smile.
"Fionn, I suppose it has…" she said, turning her eyes to the match. "Why don't you and Cu take a seat, And watch the rest of this match with Goll and i, We can discuss your places on the team momentarily." Her temper evening out a bit as she remembered a few things, Namely from the look she gave to Fionn's scarred thumb…
Even if these two joining went against her plans she supposed if she had to have a few of her underlings beaten up then replaced, there were far worse options than what she was presented with….
"It'd be an honor to sit in with a Valkyrie!" Cu spoke as he leaned over the balcony to see Lu bu take this final swing against Thor. Fionn would wordlessly lean his back against the wall, and watch, as Goll suddenly remembered what she was here for, And began to root for the soon to be defeated human.\
_
After the match Brunhilde was walking to her chambers, Younger sister following in tow.
A loss for humanity, already they were behind… Her thoughts raced back and forth as she walked, before she heard her sister speak.
"So- uhm, What do you think is next for Randgriz and Lu bu?" She asked causing Brunhilde to pause in her stressed filledstomping.
"What do you mean? 'What's next' ? " she asked,
"Huh?"
"...There is no 'next' for them, This is a battle of souls, If one dies in the afterlife, their body crumbles away into nothing and floats away to niflheim. Unable to repair itself, or be reborn…"
"W-What?" Asked Gool, shocked. "S-So you got our sister killed? Just so humans could have a chance at winning?! H-how could you?" she continued, Starting to tear up.
Before Brunhilde could explain herself another voice filled in for her.
"Your sister knew what she was getting herself into, Goll." Fionn spoke, his braided hair wisping behind his bulky, muscular body. "She fought at Lu bu's side til the end, she shares your sister's resolve to save humans., " He continued
"Fionn, I appreciate the effort, but don't butt in , this is a discussion between sisters." Brunhilde spoke dismissively to the man.
"You're far too blunt, just telling the girl to toughen up after witnessing the death of someone she was so close to won't help her at all. " spoke Fionn as he knelt to Goll's level, looking her in the eye with a serious glare. "Thirteen fighters, Thirteen gods… And thirteen Valkyries… A perfect number for the battle of Ragnarok… " He said as Goll did the math, Realizing immediately what the man looking her in the eye was getting at. "When your time comes, Will you carry your sister's resolve? And the resolve of all the others who fall along the way?"
"Y-You can't just ask me that!I-I-." Goll sobbed out
Fionn put a hand on her shoulder. "You've never seen a real battle up close and personally before, and you're scared. But as long as I'm alive, and on your side. Your sister will be borrowing my wisdom, to ensure as few sacrifices as necessary are made. "
Brunhilde looked at the interaction, and felt her anger melt with Goll's anxiety. The girl sighed. "How can i trust you… If i've never heard of you, not even once in my eighteen hundred years of being alive, how can i know you two will do well?"
"Ah? You haven't told her of us? Brunhilde?"
"I considered informing her of you… But Cu-chulainn on the other hand…" That got Fionn to smile, and burst out in a thunderous laugh.
"I suppose i get that! The man's always had a way with words around women!" Brunhilde would chuckle along.
But Goll didn't feel like joking around right now.
"Please! Stop laughing! Tell me what you and your friend can do! I need to be sure my sisters' lives aren't wasted on fights they can't win!" she shouted with angry tears in her eyes, Sobering the mood between Fionn and Brunhilde.
"Very well." Fionn spoke standing to his full height. "I believe I can display it best while we make our selection for match two" Goll would wipe her eyes, and move with the pair of them two Brunhilde's quarters. Wondering just what kind of person this was, if his presence made Brunhilde willing to release some of her control on the situation.
