Chapter 6- Lothlorien

The foursome were living in the Golden woods for few months now. At first the adaptation was difficult. They had to learn the customs, languages and much more, Galadriel had asked Haldir to help with their training. At first he was not very happy with his task but he found out soon enough that the four new elfs were fast learners and good students. Draco was amazing with the bow, Sirius was very good with the sword and Viridis and Snape with both weapons. The boys had become quite efficient with tracking and they could shoot easily and accurately and Viridis had worked some arial maneuvers with Zephir. He could hit a target when the dragon was flying a, doing barrel rolls and even H had managed to find a way to lit his arrows with dragon fire without burning them. Zephir was exhaling fire in a circular motion and he was shooting an arrow in it. Th results were spectacular and now each elf of Lothlorien knew that when Viridis mounted Zephir while caring his bow they stopped what they were doing and went either in the highest of trees or the big meadows to watch the aerial acrobatics.

One day a few months after their arrival Galadriel called the four in the throne room. She had decided to tell them about the Rings.

- Hello, my son how are you today?- she asked Viridis
- I am good mother, what is going on?- answered the young elf
- Viridis, Draco, Severus, Sirius it is time that I told you about the Rings of Power. You see long ago the elfs were gifted with three rings, the dwarfs were gifted with seven and the men with nine, but the ruler of Mordor, Sauron made another ring. The One Ring whose objective is to bring into the darkness the others rings and to rule over everything. He has almost succeeded, he either took or destroyed the Seven, the Nine felt under his power long ago and we hid the Three. The story I am about to tell you is the story of a great battle. You see at the end of the Second Age a great alliance was made between the elfs and men. The alliance only objective was to destroy Sauron. One thing that I forgot to tell you is that Sauron put a part in himself in the One.- when Viridis heard that he frowned that sounded suspiciously like a... He returned his attention to his mother and continue to listen- the One rings is also known as Isildur bane- Galadriel continue - Why?- Draco asked
- You see Elendil, the last king of Gondor was killed by Sauron and his blade was broken. Isildur attacked Sauron but was thrown next to his father. In one last desperate attempt Isildur took the broken blade of his father and cut Sauron fingers. The Lord of Mordor vanished and Isildur took possession of the One. But this is when the strength of men failed them. The only way for the ring to be destroyed is in the fire of the volcano where it was forged. Isildur had the chance but he was corrupted by the power of the ring and he took it with him to our dismay. He was killed on his way to Gondor, his corpse thrown in the Great river and the rings was lost forever.

Severus noticed that Viridis was in deep through and started to observe the face of the young elf.
- Viridis what are you thinking?- he asked
- Mother, if I understand correctly, Isidiur had a chance to destroy it but for some reason he did not take it- after seeing the Lady of the Golden Wood nod he continue- you also sed that 16 rings felt very easily under its power and finally that Sauron put a part of himself while forging it. Sirius as a member of one of the darkest families in England do you know what I am thinking about.- Sirius started thinking and soon enough he gasped

- Horcrux- finished Viridis
- Excuse me, but what is a Horcrux- asked Draco
- One of the darkest pieces of magic ever invented. It is a way to cheat death, Draco-explained Severus
- Basically the process of making a horcrux is very dark and gruesome. It require a murder that is so awful that your soul breaks. Then with a ritual the broken peace is put into a vessel. If the original body is killed, the spirit continue to live in the vessel and with time it may become strong enough to return to a real body. So basically Sauron is alive and the only way for him to die is if the ring is thrown into Mordor volcano. That makes things easier and very difficult at the same time.

Galadriel was following attentively everything that her son was saying. She was amazed by his reasoning, but also she was very disturbed by the amount of knowledge on the subject.
- How do you know all that- she asked him
- You see in England there is a Dark wizard that has given himself the name of Lord Voldemort. He and Sauron have the same ambitions and goals and both had taken steps to live forever- everyone now was listening attentively
- Voldemort is scared of death even his name means flight from death and had divided his soul 8 times. He trough that they were seven but he had made one accidental vessel that he had no knowledge of. Before coming at Hogwarts for the tournament- he looked at his three companions- I decided to hunt them after destroying the accidental one- he then looked at Galadriel and Celebon who had arrived not long ago- they were difficult too track because they were scattered across England and I had to dig deep into Voldemort past to have an idea of what they were. Ironically one of the vessels was a ring that was owned by his family. Sauron has only one object which make it easier, hat it is making it hard is the method of destruction, the person tasked with destroying it has to literally walk into the heart of the enemy territory to destroy the Ring. Voldemort vessels were difficult to destroy but they did not require a specific location. These methods were basilisk venom and fiend-fire which is similar to Hell fire. One is almost impossible to find and to survive an encounter with the King of Snakes and for the other you need an excellent focus because the fiend-fire can easily get out of control. So long story short all of his vessels are now destroyed and dear old Michael can have a shot if he wish after all Voldemort is mortal once again. Mother I am not offering to try to destroy the ring because i do not know the method of creation of the ring. What if by trying those two methods, i inadvertently make the ring stronger.
- Can you give me an example of what you mean son?- asked Celeborn
- Sure, Ada. Here in Arda the best blade smiths are the dwarfs right?
- Yes, but this acknowledgment stays in this room. In front of a dwarf, I'll denied it with all my heart
- Fair enough. In England there are many magical races and the best blade smiths between them are the goblins. The goblins in England are not like the ones here. They are more like the dwarfs. Fearlessly protective of their gold, amazing craftsmen and warriors. To be named goblin friend is the highest honour among the humans. The best weapons and jewellery is goblin made. Their weapons can become stronger. Look at my sword- he gave it to Celeborn- it has been soaked in Basilisk venom, even the smallest cut will kill because the venom will go into the blood stream and has survived Zephir's dragon flames and fiend fire. It is one of the strongest weapons that I know of. I was able to take advantage and make it stronger because i know who has made it and the properties of the goblin weapons, but the ring is different. Voldemort was not the maker of his vessels like Sauron. We do not know if the only purpose of the Ring was to conquer or if can become stronger while exposed to certain substances. What will happen if i try to destroy it with the same methods that I destroyed Voldemort vessels and instead i make it resistant to fire and deadly to the touch?

Celeborn who was about to say something stopped. These were valid points and he shivered thinking about the outcome. There was a knock on the door and an elf bringing a letter entered and gave it to him. He opened the letter and looked at everyone in the room.
- The One Ring has been found and it is in Rivendell. Elrond has summoned a consul to decide what to do.
