Chapter 14

Theoden looked at the battlefield and sighted with relief the battle was over. They had won the battle, but it was a hard win. Many men and elves had lost their lives. He saw movement and his sight turned to a small group and he recognized the elf prince, his companion and their animals surrounding the two bodies of the dragons. Not knowing what to say he continue looking .

Viridis and Draco kneeled in front of the two bodies and slowly touched them trying to wake them up while knowing that it was impossible. A long howl was heard and they turned toward Draco wolf as the animal cried for their lost companions.
- Viridis, Draco are you ok- a voice was heard behind them and they turned and saw Legolas approaching with Severus, Sirius, Aragorn, Haldir and Gimli
- We are alive, but ok, no we are not- Draco answered
- We...we lost Icarus and Zephir
- No- Sirius said
-Oh, boys I am so sorry
- Sirius...- Aragorn looked at the two elves curiously
- All their animals, aren't ordinary animals- Severus answered
- We got that- Gimli said
- Yes, however, what you don't know is that we four have small part of magic left from the world that we came- Sirius said
- Some magic users magic resonated with animals. These animals are called familiars and we make a bond with them that facilitate our bond with the magic. The familiar bond is very rare and not all magical can have it. - Draco answered
- If...if the bond is suddenly broken, it hurts us bad- Viridis finished
- Will you be eventually ok?- Haldir asked
- Yes, we will- both boys smilled and set the corpses of their familiars on fire. They didn't want to leave their companions among the dead orcs. The group slowly watched the dragons bodies being consumed by the fire until there was nothing left, but the ashes. Viridis and Draco conjured two jars and put the ashes in them and tucked the jars in their clothes.

Gandalf slowly approached the young elfs and gently touched the shoulders of the boys. The elfs stood up and turned toward him.
- Gandalf, we will grieve another day, let us go and confront Saruman now. This is our best chance as after this defeat he is powerless.- Both young elfs said
- What you say is true- Gandalf nodded- who is going to go to Isengard?
- I- king Theoden sed
- I will follow my king- Eomer sed
- Aragorn?- Gandalf looked at the ranger and saw him, Legolas and Gimli nodding
- I'll go with you also, however Draco, and the Lothlorien elfs will escort your people to Edoras.- Viridis stated
- Viri are you sure?- Draco asked
- Yes, the people need protection and I will also be ok with Aragorn and the others around me- he smiled
- Kiddo, I am sorry for the loss of the dragons- Sirius sed
- Thank you, Sirius- Viridis smiled

Isengard

Theoden and his group were almost at Isengard as they were travelling through Fangorn, when they noticed that as closer they were to the tower the wetter it was becoming until finally their horses were walking in water.

- Gandalf, what happened here?- Gimli asked
- I don't know, Gimli, The last time I was in Isengard, the orcs were making their mines- the white wizard sed
- Welcome my lords to Isengard-a new voice was heard

The members of the Fellowship turned toward the new voice and saw Merry and Pippin. Both hobbits looked in good health and in good spirit if you counted the fact that they were eating, drinking and smoking.
- Hello, you two- Aragorn said with a smile- I see that you two are in excellent health, while we were worried for your well being.
- I told you they were alright- Gandalf sed
- Merry, Pippin what happened here- Viridis asked
- Viridis, you are alive- the two hobbits jumped toward the elf which scared the elf horse and the animal reared his front legs.
- Be careful you two- Legolas said
- So what are you doing here?- Viridis asked
- We are under orders of Treebeard to watch for any guests while he and his ents keep watch over Saruman

The hobbits then came closer to Viridis steed and the elf helped Merry to mount his horse while Eomer did the same with Pippin. The now extended group entered the inner ring of Isengard and stopped in front of the Black Tower, where they were met by Treebeard.
- Hello, young master Gandalf- the ent said
- Treebeard, I see that you and your ents have imprisoned Saruman- the white wizard said
- Yes, the rainbow wizard is caged in the tower.- the ent answered Mithrandir

The group looked toward the tower and saw Saruman and Grima on the top of it. The Rohirim saw the slimy black haired man scarily looking at the wizard next to him.
- Grima, you can come back to Rohan with us, you will be treated fairly I promise- Theoden said
- Fairly, this worm worked for me, his life is finished- Saruman stated
- Don't listen to Saruman, you still have a choice- Gandalf said
- He doesn't, his life belong to me- Saruman answered

Grima looked with hate at Saruman and then took a hidden knife from his clothes and stabbed the corrupted wizard in the back, shortly after that his life also ended from an arrow through the heart fired by Legolas. Everybody watched how the dying wizard came closer and closer toward the edge until finally he lost his footing and plunged in the abyss. Saruman the Whit one of the five Mayars of Arda finished his life impelled on a huge water wheel, the only thing remaining standing from what were once the orcs mine of Isengard. Pippin with his keen hobbit sight saw a black stone falling from Saruman clothes and jumped in the water. He took the stone and looked at it, however his gazing into the stone was stopped by Gandalf who took it from his hands and gently covered it in clothes.

Edoras three dats later

A day ago the king entourage has returned from Isengard. As the tower was close to Fangorn forest Theoden has left the management to the smallest of the black towers to the ents. In time the forest would again grow in the circle and the only thing that would remind that once this place was inhabited would be the tower which would rise like a spear from the forest. However, this time was still far and many kings of men would see their reign come and go before the forest returned to its past splendour.

Merry and Pippin were having the time of their life. Yesterday the king has returned from Isengard with the two extra hobbits ridding behind Viridis and proud rohirim warriors had given up their lives for the protection of their homeland and tonight their sacrifice was being remembered together with the celebration over Saruman defeat. Outside the city the surviving Lothlorien elfs were preparing themselves to return to Lothlorien.

- Thank you again for the help, Rohan will not forget it- Theoden said to Haldir
- Of course, after all we have the same enemy- the Lothlorien marksman answered
- So you are returning to Lothlorien, any chance for some of you to stay?- Aragorn asked
- The usual four will stay with you, Aragorn, however, we must return to bring news of Saruman defeat to the Lady herself and to prepare the Golden Woods and Rivendell incase Sauron forces step on our lands. After all we don't know how much time we have left- Haldir answered while looking at the humans
- Understood, Haldir, safe journey my friend- Aragorn sed.
- Haldir- Viridis and Draco stood before the elf commander -
Yes my prince.
- Please take these back to Lothlorien, and in a sunny day with light breeze, climb to the summit of one if the highest trees and please release the that a part of our dragons will always watch over Lothlorien- Viridis and Draco took the jars with the ashes and gave them to the elf.
- My prince, it will be done- Haldir bowed to the young elf and he and the surviving elfs departed toward the forest.
- What the elf meant when he said that the forest and Rivendell were preparing for something?- Gimli asked.

The four Lothlorien elfs looked at each other and asked themselves if they should tell their companions the truth, especially as this would impact Aragorn the most.
- The elfs are troubled about the shadows that are coming from Mordor- Severus said
- We 5- he indicated all of them plus Legolas- can feel HIS power grow a little by little each day and this worry us. Gimli- Severus said while looking at the dwarf- many elfs have seen the signs that our age is coming to an end and each and every elf must decide for himself what his or her future path is.
- Bah, let's leave the serious discussions for another day and go enjoy the festivity tonight- the king sed and he and his entourage plus Gimli and Aragorn left the five elfs by themselves to follow them.
- Nicely done- Legolas murmured
- Thank you. Now let's go- with that the five followed the group.
