Author's Note: So here is the next story in my DC/Cartoon Network crossover series, the Teen Titans series. For this story, we will be covering Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz) joining the adventures of CN's beloved star child, Steven Universe.

Since the original Steven Universe show was a musical, I thought it would be best to make this a musical story too. This won't be in every chapter, but they will come. For every song that didn't come from the original Steven Universe show, it will be a parody with different titles and lyrics. The original songs will belong to their respective owners.

The song featured here is a parody of "The Midnight in Me" from Equestria Girls: the Legend of Everfree.

I hope you all enjoy this story. This took a lot of brainstorming. Any and all comments are welcome.

Agoraphobia. It's a fear of whatever might cause panic or helplessness. It's an anxiety disorder that comes from one or more panic attacks. Unfortunately, poor Jessica Cruz suffered from agoraphobia. And it all started when she was 12 years old.

After months of anticipation, Jessica was finally able to go on a camping trip with all of her friends. As the senior member of the friend group, Mandy Monroe (who Jessica often looked up to) took it upon herself to be the leader to watch over them. It made sense considering that she was 16.

On their first night of the trip, the girls sat around a campfire which lit up in the dark forest. They talked and laughed until all the attention was focused on Jessica.

"So Jess, I hear your big sis is about to go to college?"

"Yeah." Jessica said. "I'm proud of her."

"Sounds better than my relationship with my sister." Said a blue-haired girl with freckles. "You mention her bad cooking one time in front of her boyfriend, and suddenly, you get the silent treatment for a month."

"Ouch. Did that really happen, Beth?" Jessica asked.

"Yep."

Another girl sighed. It was a brown haired girl with dark skin trying to raise her phone up. "I wish there was a signal here."

"Aisha, we're in the middle of the forest." Mandy said. "You won't find an outlet for at least twenty miles, much less a signal."

"That ain't stopping me from trying." Aisha said standing up and raising her phone high into the air. She began to walk around trying to get at least one bar on her phone.

"How long do you girls think she's going to look?" Jessica asked.

"Probably until we go back home." Mandy said earning a laugh from the whole group.

"AAAAAAHHH!" Aisha screamed catching everyone by surprise.

The girls all turned their heads to Aisha to fell backwards and looked up in fear and a huge figure that towered over her. All the other girls shared her fear as the colossal figure stood at a tremendous height giving out a monstrous growl.

That's when it struck.

"NO!" Jessica screamed as she shot her head up from her pillow. She took several deep breaths and felt cold sweat falling down her face. She had just relived the most traumatic experience of her life which happened three years earlier.

After regaining her senses, Jessica buried her face in her hands as she remembered what happened next. As far as she knew, all her friends didn't make it and she was the only one who made it out.

That same day, Jessica sat across the desk of an older woman with dark skin and short, black hair. She frowned silently with the nightmare still haunting her..

"It happened again, didn't it?" the doctor asked. Jessica nodded. "Have you been practicing your breathing exercises?"

"Yes, but they don't help." Jessica said. "I still can't get what happened out of my head."

"Well, would you like to talk about it?"

"Same as before, Dr. Kane. I'm having the time of my life with my friends, then… something comes out of nowhere. I don't know if it was a very large man or a wild animal. And then, it goes after my friends and…" Jessica lowered her head deeper down silently sobbing. "It's been three years. Why can't I get over this?"

"Fear isn't something to get over instantly." Dr. Kane said. "Some events can linger on your whole life. What matters now is how you let it affect you." Her words failed to convince her patient. "Ms. Cruz, I understand that this will be our final session, right? You're moving in with your sister in Beach City?"

"Yeah." Jessica said. "I could use a change of scenery."

"I do believe a tranquil town could help you," Dr. Kane said, "But don't forget, you're the only one who can completely overcome your agoraphobia. Remember, being brave isn't the same as being fearless."

"I don't know what that means, but thank you Dr. Kane." Jessica said before the session was over and she went on her way. She said her goodbye and headed right out the door.

The next day, Jessica's parents drove her all the way to the coast town of Beach City. It was a long stretch of land that pointed out into the bright blue ocean. At the end of the land was a large hill that ended with a cliff and a lighthouse on top.

Jessica's parents stopped their car at the front of a music store. The sign read "Sara's Serenade". This was definitely the place. She hugged her parents goodbye and watched them drive off before facing the store. She took a breath before entering through the front door.

The inside of the shop had various instruments hanging on the wall and a clear area near the back where lessons are held.

"Sara!" she called out. "It's me! Jessica! Your little sis!"

Just then, a woman ran down who looked older than Jessica, but looked somewhat similar. Sara smiled and went to hug her.

"Welcome to my home." Sara said breaking the hug.

"You live in your store?" Jessica asked.

"Technically, my home is right above this store." Sara said. "Opened up this here establishment just last month. So far, business is good."

"That's good to hear." Jessica said. "By the way, thanks again for letting me live here."

"Are you kidding? I'd do anything for my baby sis." Sara said. "Don't worry though. I haven't lived here long, but I can already tell a lot about this town. The people are nice. We get some occasional problems now and then, but what town is flawless? And when summer officially starts tomorrow, this will be the perfect place to relax."

"Thanks." Jessica said softly. "If you don't mind, I should probably go unpack." She took her suitcase and headed upstairs.

"Okay. Take care." Sara waved as her sister left. She then sighed. "Good luck."

Suddenly, the door behind her opened and alerted her. When she turned, she smiled seeing an older, heavier man with a bald head with long hair growing from the back and a white undershirt.

"Morning, Sara."

"Morning, Greg." Sara said. She reached behind her desk and pulled out a string guitar which she passed to him. "Here's your guitar back, with fresh new strings."

"Thanks." Greg said. "Say, did you have someone else here? I could have sworn I saw someone else through your window."

"That was just my sister, Jessica." Sara said. "She's nice, but she tends to be easily anxious. My parents thought some time in Beach City might ease her nerves."

"How much have you told her about this place?" Greg asked.

"Not much." Sara answered. "She needs time to settle into her new room first. I'm planning and telling her more tomorrow. Though, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure about the crazy stuff in this town myself. Does your son really own a pink lion?"

Greg laughed. "Yeah. The little schtu-ball has some pretty crazy adventures lately. Don't worry though. Hopefully, it won't upset your sister too much."

"Thanks." Sara said.

Later that night, it was time for bed. Jessica didn't get the chance to leave the house. She much preferred to wait until the next day. She just sat in her room, went over her phone, and waited until the sunset.

As dusk started to begin, Jessica took one last look at Beach City. She couldn't help but smile at the light of the sunset that shined over the town.

"It is pretty." Jessica said. Her adoring smile slowly dropped as she sighed to herself. "I really want this to work. I really do."

Jessica looked over and saw a guitar that was left beside her bed. With a slight chuckle, she took it and began playing it. After a moment of music, she began to sing.

Jessica:

There was one a young girl

Who was as happy as can be

All her friends all loved her

And her family was carefree

Then one night, suddenly

All the love turned into fear

And no matter how hard they help

They can't make that fear disappear

If I could have the nerve

The courage can grow once more

Then, that girl will be happy

Like she was long before

But for now, the whole world

Is tearing her apart

And that girl

REALLY NEEDS A FEARLESS HEEEEAAAAAART

A FEARLESS HEEEEEEAAAAART

That girl just needs a fearless… heeeeeeeaaaaaart

Once she was done, the night had finally shadowed over the city. Jessica placed her guitar down and rested herself in her bed. She closed her eyes and readied herself to sleep.

Jessica was just about to fall into her sleep, but a bright glow interrupted her. She turned herself, but the glow still lit up in the corner of her closed eyes. She opened her eyes to investigate the glow, which came from just outside her window.

Jessica looked out and suddenly felt confused. Outside her window, there was a green ring that was glowing a bright light. Curious, Jessica opened her window to get a better look at it. She saw that on the top of the ring, there was a lantern-shaped symbol etched.

"A ring?" Jessica asked. "What's a ring doing…"

Jessica was interrupted when the ring suddenly flew right at her. In the blink of an eye, it forced itself around Jessica's right middle finger catching her by surprise. She gasped and fell back on her bed before raising her hand up to see the glowing ring around her finger. That's when a robotic voice called out to her.

"Hello, Jessica Cruz. You have been chosen by the Guardians of Oa to be part of the Green Lantern Corps."

Jessica's eyes widened greatly. "Did… Did you just talk?"

"Indeed. I am your Power Ring. I shall be your tool as you protect the galaxy from the forces of evil."

"No! No, no, no! I did not ask for this!" Jessica shouted. She grabbed the ring with her free hand and tried to pull it off of her. No matter how hard she pulled though, she had no luck even budging it. "Come on! Get off of me!"

"I'm sorry. This Power Ring can only be removed after a basic briefing by either a Guardian of Oa or a fellow officer."

That didn't stop Jessica from trying to force the ring off herself. She continued pulling with all her might before she tripped and fell off her bed. She lost consciousness right after.

When Jessica woke up the next morning, the back of her head was throbbing. She rubbed the sore spot until she suddenly remembered the ring. She held her own hand in front of her face again seeing that it was still there.

"Ring Power is now at 88%." Said the voice from the ring.

"Oh. You're still on me." Jessica said too tired to keep fighting. "Look, whatever magical destiny this is, I don't want any part of it. You said only certain people can get you off my finger, right?"

"Correct. Before initial removal, you must have a full briefing by either a Guardian of Oa or a fellow Green Lantern."

"Okay then. Where can I find them?"

"One second please." The ring blinked green for a few seconds before making a beep. "Found. The Green Lantern team of Ch'p and G'nort are detected just approximately 500 miles."

"500 miles?" Jessica asked jumping up to her feet. "That's like a whole day away! How am I going to…"

Jessica stopped her question when her eyes caught something outside, something that was entirely impossible.

Jessica and Sara raced to the beach to join the scared crowd that murmured to themselves out of fear and confusion. Everyone stared at the same thing beyond their sandy shores: nothing but more sand. Not a drop of water was within sight. The ocean had completely disappeared. Only a couple of boats were left along with some other junk.

"What's going on?" Jessica asked.

"I don't know." Sara assured. After the discovery of the missing sea, she didn't pay any attention to the new ring.

"Hey!" shouted the town's mayor. "It's those magical ladies!"

The mayor then walked up to confront four unusual looking women. One was very tall with a black-and-red color scheme, a square head, and a pair of shades over her eyes. She also had two gems, one in each palm of her hand Another was a thin girl with a very pale complexion. She had on a blue shirt with a yellow star on it. Along with the sharp hair on her head, she also had a gem implanted in her forehead. Lastly, there was a short, purple girl with long hair, a gray, sleeveless top, and black pants with purple stars on them. Like the other girls, she also had a gem, but it was barely visible above the cut of her collar. They were accompanied by a small, normal looking boy with blue pants and a red shirt that had a yellow star on it.

"What's going on here?" the mayor asked the tall one with the visor. He spoke through a megaphone.

"The ocean is gone, obviously."

"That's right! Now, it's just a desert! No one wants to take a vacation to Desert City! We're gonna lose all our summer business! As mayor, I demand you explain this immediately!"

The tall woman fiercely swung her hand knocking the megaphone out of the mayor's hands.

"It was Lapis Lazuli."

The thin one then let out a blue light that also displayed a blue projection of a blue girl. While everyone had their attention on her, Jessica then kept her eyes on the three strange-looking women.

"Sara, who are they?" she asked her sister.

"Oh, them?" Sara replied nervously. "Okay. There might be a couple of small things that I failed to mention about this town… but it was only because I didn't think they'd be that big of a deal."

"Sara." Jessica insisted.

Sara sighed before answering. "Okay. The truth is, Beach City does get some strange inconveniences from time to time. Sandstorms on the beach. Kids trapped in pink bubbles. It was never really as big as a missing ocean. But usually, these women and the kid with them have it all under control. They call themselves the Crystal Gems; Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. Don't know much about them though. Most of the time, they keep to themselves. They're often accompanied by that boy, Steven Universe. I think he's their trainee or something. Sorry I didn't tell you all this sooner."

Normally, situations like this would make Jessica feel anxious and her knees shake. But the more she looked at the Crystal Gems, the less anxious she was. She has failed to shake even once. Instead, she felt calm, but also a tad familiar.

"Do I know them?" Jessica asked herself.

"Recalculating Ch'p and G'nort's position." She heard the voice from her ring. "Approximately 700 miles to your right."

Jessica turned to the right where the empty beach laid. She looked out in the distance before suddenly realizing.

"Wait. You mean the only two people within a thousand miles who can get you off me are out there, along with the missing ocean?"

"Correct. This entire planet's seawater appears to have converged at a singular location. Around that same area, you will find Ch'p and G'nort."

Jessica gulped as she knew what it meant. In order to find the only people who can help her, she would have to go to the center of trouble. At first, she was frightened, but then her mind calmed down as she realized she could accompany a certain group of people who, for some reason, could help her through it.

If these Crystal Gems would go and get back the ocean, then Jessica Cruz will join them.
