Bonjour!
Hope everyone's having a good week so far and that the weekend may serve you better! Apparently from what I heard the Sonic fandom imploded from certain events and on my part I am pretty shocked, but unfortunately stuff happens which is out of our control. I will just say this: keep things to yourself and out of the public view. If it'll make anyone uncomfortable then don't even put it up on social media because that'll make it worse. So yeah the last several days was crazy I'll admit that.
Away from that here's another Knuxikal one-shot! Pretty short and simple so hope you enjoy! ^u^

Lipstick
Knuckles the Echidna stood proudly above the Emerald Altar doing his duty of protecting the Master Emerald and its servers, the Chaos Emeralds. Violet eyes glittered upon the sunny day on the floating atoll of Angel Island, small clouds passing in the sky above as the guardian stood in front of the gems with a serious look on his face. Ever since he was born Knuckles committed himself to performing the lifelong task of keeping watch to the mystical gems, although the echidna did not know why he had to do it as his past was a mystery. Regardless he didn't question it and did it with honor and strength.
With arms crossed and gaze set out towards the land, Knuckles was a powerful guardian that almost no one should mess around with. Dedicated to ensuring that the Master Emerald and its servers remain on the island, he is always at the ready day and night.
"OOF!"
Well… almost at the ready.
And almost no one should mess around with.
"GAH! TIKIE-HAHA! OKAY OKAY HAHA!" Knuckles laughed upon being tackled to the ground and nuzzled affectionately by a smaller orange echidna. Giggling on her part she raised herself up and look down at the emerald guardian with a smile. "Hi Knuckie~!" spoke the sweet voice of Tikal the Echidna.
The two got up from the ground with Knuckles dusting himself off. "I didn't even notice you there hehe. You're starting to surprise me more every day." he said.
"Yup and I will keep doing it to show how much I love you." Tikal replied. Knuckles gave another smile. "And I'll love you as well my princess, though this does show that I gotta be more vigilant to my surroundings."
Tikal wrapped her arms around Knuckles' neck and played with his quills, enjoying the purring sound he emitted as the smaller of the two grinned. "You are doing a wonderful job my guardian. If anything this is to add some excitement so you do not get easily bored."
"Yeah I guess you're right. So did you enjoy your time with Amy?" Knuckles asked. Tikal nodded joyfully. "Yes I have, but I did wish for you to come." she frowned looking at him. The emerald guardian shook his head. "Sorry but I didn't want something like last time to happen and if anything this seemed more like a girl thing so I wouldn't fit in."
"I understand, but I did get something new that Amy said would make me fit in more with the modern times." Tikal explained. Knuckles raised an eyebrow. "Oh really, what would that be?"
Tikal didn't say anything… but her eyes became half-lidded as she smiled suggestively and pulled him in closer, batting her eyelids. "Care to take a guess my love~?"
Knuckles gulped and blushed heavily. Even though they have been together for a while now he still gets flustered around the echidna princess, especially when she becomes bold and forward which is a contrast to her shy and gentle nature.
"U-Uh… d-did you put makeup on or s-something?" Knuckles stuttered. Tikal giggled again in her soft melodic voice. "Well you are correct Knuckie, but can you figure out what it is?"
The emerald guardian couldn't think straight with how close they are, noses touching and all. Every time Knuckles look at her he is simply entranced by her beauty. Semi-long eyelashes complimented her gorgeous blue pools that stared at him with love and adoration, a tan muzzle with a cute petite nose and an innocent smile. All in all she was very beautiful and Knuckles was incredibly lucky to have her and no longer be the last of his kind.
Another soft laugh came from the echidna princess which interrupted his train of thought.
Along with a soft pair of lips upon his own, his eyes watching her own close in bliss. Just as his own closed as well.
Strong passion and warmth flowed through their bodies during the exchange, Knuckles wrapping his arms around her while Tikal pulled him in. Their thoughts only focused on each other with great feeling and emotion that indicated an everlasting bond and trust, Knuckles dedicating his life to cherish her while Tikal ensured his feelings of solitude go away. It was a slow kiss, their lips caressing each other softly and with great care. The echidna princess raised her hands to stroke his quills eliciting a soft purr out of him while the emerald guardian massaged the small of her back, the latter also emitting sounds of affection.
It lasted for several minutes until in the end they separated, eyes slowly opening as they looked at each other. But not before Tikal sneaked in a few kisses upon his face, Knuckles feeling her silky lips. While they were quicks pecks they held a large amount of affection that made Knuckles' smile raise higher as he sighed. A few soft smooches later Tikal pulled back and giggled once more. "I believe you may not be able to figure it out, so let us have the Master Emerald find out for you." she said.
Knuckles was confused. "The Master Emerald? Why would I need help from it?"
Tikal smiled and gently grabbed his chin with her hand turning his head towards it. The emerald guardian's eyes widened.
The Master Emerald is a large gem that can bestow anyone with incredible power when called upon directly, but in this case… they just had to see the vibrant reflection of it to which Tikal's question was solved.
Knuckles gazed at the several kiss marks on his face that displayed in a bright pink color.
"U-Um, I guess I was right that it was makeup hehe." Knuckles rubbed the back of his head blushing. Looking back at Tikal he looked at her lips and noticed them being the same color as the kiss marks on his face. "How did I not notice this?"
"Well Amy introduced me to this thing called lipstick and if anything I wanted to try it out. She said that she uses it to get Sonic to pay more attention and I wondered if it will work the same with you." Tikal's eyes saddened a bit. "I see that it did not work…"
Knuckles panicked a bit seeing his lover get depressed. "N-No I didn't mean to not notice! I just paid more attention to how beautiful your eyes are!"
"R-Really?" Tikal looked back up hopeful. The emerald guardian smiled. "Y-Yeah, I was lost in them to not notice anything else and I do apologize for that. Honestly you don't need to add much of anything to yourself so that I can pay more attention. Just you being you outside and in is all that I need and nothing else."

"OH KNUCKIE~!"
"ACK!"
Tikal tackled him once more and smothered him in love again. If anything the red echidna's face will be ending up a mix of red and pink in the end. Nonetheless Tikal will still take advice from the pink hedgehog as she does know how being a modern girl is like, but for Knuckles she will be forever grateful for the words she heard him say.
Always be yourself outside and in.

'I hope this washes off or I'll never hear the end of it.' Knuckles thought as he felt Tikal's angelic lips.

Alright looks like I'm getting close to having made 50 works and if anything I might plan something once I hit that magical number. No I won't be turning 50 lol, I'm still far away from reaching that point in time.
