Fireheart spun around when he heard a splash and a muffled yowl. He barely saw the flash of gray fur before he dove in, trying to save his friend.

Graystripe how do you always get into these situations? You still have an apprentice and you have friends so don't be so clumsy next time. Fireheart swam like a fish until he grabbed Graystripe by the scruff of his neck. Maybe more than a friend waiting for you…

He quickly shook away these thoughts. It's time to save him, not moon over him like she-cat! After pulling Graystripe out of the water, Fireheart placed him on his back and went as fast as he could to the camp. Once he got there let out a huffing yowl.

"Yellowfang!" Fireheart pulled Graystripe with him into Yellowfang's den. "He fell into the lake! Can you save him? "Of course!" Yellowfang snorted "This something I learned when I was an apprentice!"

Yellowfang brought the two warriors into her den. Fireheart vaguely recognized the scent of thyme and soon went over to Graystripe to start drying his pelt. Rasping his tongue over his friend's head he felt a light purr rumbling in his friend's throat. He must be having a good dream. He's never done this before when we share tongues.

Still a small voice cut into his thoughts. Maybe he was holding it back, maybe he does like you. Fireheart shook his head lightly and buried his head between his paws wondering what Graystripe would think.

What would he think of me after learning about what I think about him? All the times I've thought he's handsome... I have to keep him safe even if that means never being able to love him.
