Chapter 1: Job

BPOV

I was going to get a job, at a sports store no less! I know! I don't know a thing about sports. So how do I expect to get a job at a sports store? I have no clue, but I'm going to try my best.

I pulled into the parking lot of Newton's Olympic Outfitters and hoped this interview would go okay, that is when I saw him he was the most beautiful boy I'd ever seen, and then he started walking toward me! I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there, "Hello my name is Edward Cullen," he said in a velvety voice, "You must be Isabella Swan," he said, how the heck did this angel know my name? "It's Bella." I said, "How did you know my name?" I asked in what must have been a frightened voice because he said in a comforting voice, "Well you're someone new here which does not tend to occur, also your father Chief Swan has not been able to keep from talking about you since you told him you were coming." Suddenly, he inhaled seeming to have the intent of speaking to me some more, but he froze, if I didn't know better I'd say he turned to stone, and just stood there for a whole minute seeming not even to breathe, then suddenly he said, "I have to go" and walked away, to fast I thought, and then I sighed because I was so fed up with this small town called forks already that I was making up things to worry abust to have something exciting happen in this town. Oh! Dear reader, I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself I'm Bella Swan, daughter of Charlie Swan, or as he is known to the good people of forks, Chief Swan, it was from forks that my mother escaped with me when I was a baby, ever since then I have been forced to spend a month in forks every year until three years ago when at the age of fourteen I had finally put my foot down ever since then Charlie has spent two weeks with me in the blistering heat of Phoenix instead, but now I have come back to this dreary town to complete my high school education, all because my mother Renee remarried, she married a minor-league baseball player, Phil Dwyer. I didn't mind Phil, okay maybe I thought he was a little too young, but he was a good guy overall, when my mom married Phil, he had to move around a lot for work, my mom stayed with me at first, but she was unhappy, so I had decided to move back in with Charlie, I had arrived yesterday today was Sunday, Charlie had given me a truck! I know! It was old, and a little beat up, but it ran great, and that's what matters, it cost quite a bit in the gas department, which was my primary motivation for getting a job, and that's what led to the current moment of me walking into Newton's Olympic Outfitters.
