Chapter 3: Cullen
BPOV
I got the job!
I know I'm as surprised as anyone, but the times that I was available ended up working perfectly, with when they needed me, I pulled into the driveway of my dad's house, it was a small humble place I liked it, I had decided not to tell Charlie about my strange encounter with Edward Cullen, I might mention that I ran into him but I would not tell him about the abrupt way he left.
"Hi dad." I said in a neutral tone, "Hi Bella," he said as I walked into the kitchen, I saw him in the living room watching TV, "Have you eaten yet?" I asked, "No," he responded as I walked to the kitchen to start on dinner, I decided on steak and potatoes as I was putting the steak in the oven I said to Charlie, "I met Edward Cullen today," I wondered what he thought about the Cullens, "Oh that's nice," he said, "He was nice" I replied "A little strange, but nice," I said, and then Charlie smiled! A real genuine smile! Then he said "most people in this town like to start rumours about them just because they look a little different," he explained "I'm just glad that my daughter isn't one of those people," he said, I understood his point of view because in Phoenix I was the one that people started rumours about, I hated it! So I promised myself that I would never start a rumour about anyone. If I say something about someone it's because I have proof. If I don't have proof I don't say stuff, that's my rule. "That's so horrible!" I said "sure is," Charlie responded "the Cullens have never been any trouble, but people just make all these assumptions," he said, "I don't like it one bit," he finished, " I know what that feels like," I admitted, "it never feels good when people say things about you that aren't true," I continued, "it feels like you get knocked down over and over and right as you're trying to get back up someone knocks you down again," I said, "I know that feeling to Bells, everyone knows it and everyone hates it, but instead of putting a stop to it like they should they make other people feel the same way as a release," he finished, "wow." I said that was probably the longest speech Charlie has ever given, "that actually kind of makes sense," I said as I pulled the food out of the oven, as I was serving the steak I said, "O.M.G! I totally forgot to ask! How was your day dad?" "It was okay bells, I had an early lunch today so I'm pretty hungry," he said to which I immediately responded with: "well then it's a good thing that dinners ready dad," I brought his food, (which he immediately gobbled down) to the table as I was eating I said, "I think I'm going to turn in early today," to which Charlie responded "Oh. Are you sure Bells it's sunday you should really get out," "I'm sure dad," I said, "It's a school night," I continued, "I don't want to be tired on my first day," "well ok Bells have a good sleep," he said, "night dad," I said, as I walked up the stairs.
