Prologue : Appearing from nowhere
"Are you okay ?" asked Monkey D. Garp.
While he might not seem like it, Garp was a Vice Admiral in the Navy, and one of the most famous marines. Some people believe he's too old, and should retire. Nevertheless, even at 66, the Hero of the Marines is one of the most feared marines, for he was the one to take down Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King. But that is not the point here.
Garp was wandering around, as he does every morning, when he heard a little girl crying. He ran to where the child was, and asked :
"Hey ! Are you alright ? Do you need any help ?"
She did not answer. Instead, she curled up in a ball, and began rocking while crying.
'She seems to be around Luffy's age' Garp thought.
"What's your name ?" he asked, trying to get her to talk so that he could help her.
"C-Cat" she responded, still crying.
"Alright Cat, my name's Garp ! And how old are you ?"
"I'm 8 !" and as she said that, she showed 8 fingers. She was not crying anymore, which was a relief for Garp. He smiled.
"Wow ! And do you know where your parents are ?"
She cried again. "I don't know where I am ! I don't remember many things ! I was reading a book at home when I felt sleepy and then I was here !"
"It's okay don't worry ! What else do you remember ?" Garp was trying his best to comfort the young girl, and he hoped they would find her parents soon.
"There's nothing else I remember. I just have this drawing I did, and I know it's my home !"
Garp took the drawing, and it was quite well drawn. However, it was nothing he had ever seen. There were huge fields, a big sun, and no water at all, as if she didn't come from an island at all. He decided to ask people about the little girl, and about that drawing. The best answer he got was "Maybe she comes from another dimension".
After a while, Cat asked 'Mr. Garp' if she would be able to go back to her home.
"I'm sorry Cat. I don't think it will be possible. No one knows who you are and where you are from, and you don't remember anything…"
Garp was heartbroken when he saw the young girl's face. So, he thought about a solution she might like.
"Do you want to meet my grandsons ? They are around your age, maybe you will get along well."
"Okay" she accepted.
