Grizzly exits the limousine with a thinking look on his face, looking in at Lucifer. "You stay here. No tricks,"
Lucifer smiles as happily as he can. "I'm not gonna do anything alright!?" He says sounding a bit annoyed, but takes a moment to collect himself.
The heroes quickly gather outside. "So what did he want? You look worried, sir," Water Force says with a little clap on his arm.
"It is something we could never have expected," Grizzly says nodding his head. "He wants to enroll into UA. In the hero course," Upon hearing this the other heroes all look shocked at each other.
Loudmouth looks around, stomping over to the limo and slamming his fist on the hood, making Lucifer jump a little inside. "WHAT!?" He says stomping back. 'He went all the way there just for that?' Water Force thinks with a shaking head.
"So what are you going to do, Principal Grizzly?" Water Force asks with crossed arms. "I don't think it's a good idea."
Grizzly nods. "I think... I will speak to him more. And find his motivation for this," He says turning to the limousine and getting back in.
"No... we won't 'burn it to the ground'," Lucifer mutters to himself as Grizzly gets in.
"To UA, if you would," He says to his driver, wondering who Lucifer was speaking to.
The driver looks back at Lucifer who's just sitting there... looking rather menacing. "Are you certain sir?" Lucifer notes him staring and smiles at him giving him a little wave as if to say 'hey how're you doing?'.
"Yes... drive slowly. I wish to speak with him," Grizzly adds closing the window to get some privacy as they begin driving towards UA LA taking a detour, Water Force and Loudmouth driving in a car behind them. "Who were you talking to? Burn it to the ground? Who suggested that?" Grizzly asks still looking prepared to fight.
"Azazel. As I'm sure you know I have a similar quirk to my dad and siblings. It allows me to channel the powers of a demon from another realm of sorts. I don't quite know how that works or where he is really. But I can talk to this demon. I don't like doing that a lot though," He explains making little circle-gestures around his head. "He's a bit crazy,"
Grizzly nods. "I see. Are these demons the reasoning for your family's villainous nature?"
Lucifer shakes his head. "No, it's definitely mostly the upbringing. Azazel is more evil than I am! I can assure you of that. The only time he ever took over my body completely he nearly burned down the manor with my family in it for fun. Of course, my brothers stopped him. I don't really... want to talk about it. I want to be a hero. That's more important to me than why my family is evil, or even why Azazel is!" He says clenching his fists.
Grizzly eyes him suspiciously. "I see. As for allowing you into UA I simply cannot allow it. The Brimstone family is too dangerous. For the safety of my students, I will not allow it," He says crossing his arms firmly.
Lucifer looks distraught. "I... I thought you'd understand... I guess not. I'm not bad! I'm no villain! I swear!" He says followed by a sigh as he leans back.
"The promise from a villain doesn't mean much," Grizzly sternly informs him. "You have been behaving for now. But tell me... who's idea was this? It seems ill-planned for the most notorious crime family in the world. Your father put you up to this?" He asks staring down at the little boy, fully expecting the bubble of 'niceness' to break anytime.
"The words of a villain can't be trusted?" Lucifer says gritting his teeth. "I'm NOT a villain! DON'T CALL ME A VILLAIN!" He says stomping his foot making Grizzly really tense up. "I want to be a hero to help people. That's all I want! But... if you won't listen to me..." He takes a deep breath to collect himself. "then I'm afraid..." He leans forward, giving Grizzly a menacing glare. "We'll have to do this the hard way," He says, Grizzly's eyes tightening as he is ready for an attack before Lucifer reaches down in the pocket of his hoodie pulling out a paper, having a hard time doing so with his handcuffs. He holds it out to the giant bear-man. "Here,"
Grizzly looks at the top. "This is… the US constitution?" He asks glancing over the paper.
Lucifer smugly leans back. "The 14th amendment. 'No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.'. You can't deny me the right to take the entrance exam based on my background," he says and Grizzly seems to visibly relax as he was obviously ready for a fight.
He lets on a little smirk. "Well, that may be true. You want to play this game? Fine. UA LA has a minimum education requirement for entering and from what I know, the Brimstone family does not attend school," He says leaning back and Lucifer smirks almost happy to have this challenge and again he begins fishing around in his pockets.
He hands Grizzly a grade paper with many signatures. "Here. My report card from homeschooling," He says and Grizzly looks suspiciously at it.
"This cannot be valid!" He says and Lucifer scoots over, Grizzly almost forgetting he is supposedly a villain.
"Alright well here. English, a C+, signed by the Poetry villain Megalingual. Offical masters in literature and linguistics from the University of Manchester prior to becoming a villain. Math, a B-, signed by the Mathemaniac who has a doctorate in higher-dimensional mathematics from Oxford. Again. Prior to becoming a villain." he is about to keep going down the list when Grizzly relents.
"Alright alright. I understand. But if I from what I know, all educated teachers who turn to villainy have their license to teach revoked in all fifty states,"
Lucifer smirks. "That's true! BUT! The 'campus', that being the Brimstone manor, is a piece of private land owned and governed by my father. It has been officially recognized as different from the state it's in! They are allowed to teach from there,"
Grizzly grunts. "Very clever. Al-" He starts before Lucifer pulls out something else. Again...
"And finally here is my official criminal track record,"
Grizzly nods. "Very well, so you have not committed any crimes. But this says little as you're still a juvenile,"
Lucifer starts looking around his pockets. "I have that one too. Not as much as a candy-theft on there though,"
Grizzly holds out his hand. "It's alright. I get it. So none of these things have been recorded. So anywa-" Lucifer gets out his phone bringing up a video to show Grizzly. "What is this?"
The video is inside the Brimstone manor with Lucifer seemingly hiding the phone. "Hey, dad?" Lucifer's voice comes from the phone.
"Yes, my little devil?" The authoritative voice of Beelze Brimstone echoes. Grizzly is a little shocked at how calm and normal he sounds.
"I'm 15 now! Why am I never allowed outside of the manor? Mephis had his debut when he was 13!" Lucifer points out and his father chuckles lightly.
"Well, my little devil. You will have your debut someday soon I'm sure. I'm glad you're finally showing interest in this," The video cuts off.
Grizzly raises an eyebrow. "So you have never been outside of the Brimstone manor?" He says clearly able to see that Beelze had no clue he was being recorded, and thus no reason to lie to Lucifer.
"Once. When I was 6. But that was before I got my quirk," He says leaning back. "Alright, I'm out of trump-cards. If this isn't enough to convince you I'm probably just gonna cry," Lucifer says throwing himself back in his seat crossing his legs, sitting like a mafia-boss of sorts.
Grizzly suddenly bursts out laughing. "Bwahahahaaaa! You know... I was prepared to allow you to take an entrance exam when you showed me those grades. You really went beyond what was expected didn't you?"
Lucifer gives a toothy grin, showing his tiny fangs. "Plus Ultra right? That's the motto of UA LA too?" he says before slumping down. "Man... I was not actually thinking you'd let me get this far. Heroes usually jump at any chance to mess with my family."
"You're not quite out of the park yet. We WILL have to be careful with you. As you said yourself, Azazel, the demon inside of you is evil," Grizzly informs as they pull up in a parking lot outside of UA.
"HEY! I'm WAY more than evil! I'm strong! REAL FREAKING STRONG!" A voice echoes in Lucifer's head. He naturally just ignores it. "Don't ignore me, Lucifer!" "I'll ignore you when I feel like it," he says and Grizzly's ears jerk back just as he exits the limousine to see the other heroes standing around looking restless. "I was talking to Azazel. He's... bragging."
"I see..." He says joining the other heroes, Lucifer just naturally waiting in the car.
As Grizzly closes the door Lucifer starts gleefully wiggling in his seat, throwing his hands in the air. "YYYYYYES! I did it!" He yells happily. "Those other pros need to give the go-ahead too don'tcha think?" Azazel comments and Lucifer looks out the window at them.
Loudmouth crosses his arm stomping his foot. "I'm up the freaking WALL! What did he say!?" He says.
Water Force looks at the blonde hero. "Yeah... I was ready to attack the entire trip. It was kind of suspenseful."
Grizzly crosses his arms. "He is a clever fellow. He had pretty much everything planned out. On technicality, we cannot deny his request to take the entrance exam. His records are clean, his grades, while given to him by villains, are legitimate due to those villains being well-educated. He definitely expected us to try to deny his request on technicalities,"
Loudmouth once more stomps his foot. 'Now it's his foot?' Water Force thinks blinking a few times. "Of course we can! He's a BRIMSTONE for crying out loud!"
"You can't really do much that isn't out loud," Water Force comments and Loudmouth glares at him.
"OI!"
Grizzly crosses his arms seemingly in deep thought. "In the end it is my decision. I see two options. The first: We allow him to take the entrance exam. In doing so he may pass, and be enrolled. UA LA is constantly supervised by many many pro heroes such as us among many veterans. If we deny him we have no choice but to let him walk. And that would leave a potentially dangerous villain on the streets. Thus... we choose the lesser of two evils. And allow him to take the exam," He says very analytically.
Loudmouth slams his fist into the pavement, shaking it as he stands. 'It hurt?' Water Force notes. "You want him to take the entrance exam? With the other students?! That's CRAZY!"
"Not as crazy as letting someone dangerous just walk. We can keep an eye on him at UA LA," Water Force says and Loudmouth reluctantly agrees, mumbling something about a table to hit.
Grizzly gestures for Lucifer to be let out and he happily gets out with a smile. "I take it this means I'm in?"
"You are indeed going to be taking the entrance exam, but in order to ensure the safety of our students your test will be graded slightly differently,"
"Alright! I have a good feeling about this," He says tapping his fingers together pretty suspiciously. "If I can pass then I'll be closer to becoming a hero," He says sighing in relief. "I'm looking forward to it! I've always wanted to see the Grounds!" He says as Grizzly cannot help but find him kind of charming. Not at all what one would expect from a boy raised by the Brimstone family!
