Chapter 2

It's been about 2 weeks since Sookie has been working for her boss Eric. It has been great so far. Sookie feels like she can trust him even though he is a vampire. I mean it is the first time she can truly be herself around someone and be completely honest too. I mean the only other person who knows about her talent is her brother Jason. The rest of her family isn't with her anymore. Her and Jason aren't particularly close but they are the only family they have.

Sookie is looking through some apartments in Shreveport while waiting for her shift in a few hours. She may have looked for a job a few cities away for an excuse to leave. Maybe this job was her first step in a new life. But for now it is just her living on her own a short drive from where she grew up.

She slammed the paper on the table. She walked to the kitten to heat up some microwave meal before she left for work. Then she got changed. Blue jeans, a gray tee shirt reading night owls and some half torn up sneakers.

An hour later

She opened the door eagerly to start working. She greeted Pam with a big smile.

"Hello Pam, how are you tonight"

"I am fine Sookie. Eric wants to see you in the back"

Sookie took a deep breath and made her way in the back. She approached Eric and smiled.

"You wanted to see me?"

"You really aren't afraid are you?"

"Of you? No why would I be, you've been nothing but kind."

Eric smiled. Walked up to her and stroked her face. Sookie smiled and her blue eyes shined bright like diamonds. Eric then kissed her on the forehead then walked back to his desk.

Sookie felt butterflies. Her boss just kissed her…well it was on the forehead but still. Is she falling for him? Would there be a point in pursuing a relationship? She is human and will age when he will not. There isn't a logical reason to try but then again there isn't anything logical about love.

"I would love to get to know you better" Eric said

Sookie didn't say a word. Just went over to him and kissed him firmly. Eric then pushed her against the wall. Then they both just looked at each other smiling. Eric moved the hair blocking her face.

"You are beautiful you know" Eric said

"Now what" Sookie asked

"Well I guess we are an official couple now. And I guess you are officially mine."

"Yours?"

"Yes, it just means no other vampire can take you"

"Oh" Sookie began to look sad

"What is the matter" Eric asked concerned

"There isn't any logic with this relationship is there? I am going to get old and die and you aren't going to age a day. Is there a point to try when it is going to end in failure?"

There was a long pause.

"Of course there is a point. I felt something as soon as a laid eyes on you. And if the aging thing is what scares you that can be fixed. Not now but when we are more certain. But for now lets see where this takes us"

That is exactly what she needed to hear. She leaned up and kissed him. And all they could do is smile.

"Okay I probably should get back to work now" Sookie said as walking to help Pam at the counter

"You look happy" Pam said with a smirk

"Yes I think I am"

"You know I have never seen him so interested in someone before. I don't think he ever loved anyone besides himself of course. And knowing he admitted it within a few weeks. There must be something about you."

All Sookie could do was smile. She thinks she made the right choice. And maybe she finally found the one. And so what if he is a vampire? He loves her and she loves him and that is all that really matters.
