Author's note: So thank you for the reviews (I'm actually surprised that anyone read it) . I don't think I am a great writer or anything but I do enjoy it so I am sorry about any errors I may have. Also I will try to upload a few times a week. I'm not overly busy with life or anything so it should be an easy promise to keep. So thank you for reading.
Chapter 3
Sookie has been on her own for the most part since she was fifteen. She does have her brother Jason, they aren't particularly close but they aren't at each other's neck either. He did make sure she was fed through high school. He being five years older than her was already out in the real world when her gran died. She took care of her and Jason since their parents died. Sookie was only six and doesn't remember much about either of them. Some people said that gran was too old to take care of such young kids. Some even wondered why she didn't give them up. She didn't let anyone tell her what to do though. She made sure Sookie and Jason had the best life possible.
Sookie decided to text her brother for the first time in a while. Hey, how have you been lately? I haven't seen you in a while. She really wish they were close since they are the only family they have but life had other plans. Jason is always out of town on some business trip of some sort.
Sookies phone started to ring. She looked at the caller ID, it was jason.
"Hello"
"Hey sookie, how have you been"
"Good. What's new with you"
"Nothing much Sookie. Just been working like crazy. Anything new with you? You seeing anybody"
"I just got a job at a hotel a few weeks ago. It is a little sketchy but the people there are easy to work with and are very nice. And I have been talking with someone for about a week but it is a little weird because he is my boss"
"Does he make you happy Sookie?"
"Yes he really does"
"Then that is all what matters. It doesn't matter how you met. I would love to meet him one of these days"
"Yes we definitely will set something up"
"Hey Sookie, I have to go. I will keep in touch"
Sookie's heart warmed up. It was nice to hear her brother's voice. Even though they aren't close she does love him very much. It also is nice hearing him support her.
The doorbell suddenly rang. There was no one there but there was a bouquet of black roses. She picked them up to see a note in them. It may be your day off from work but not your day off from me. Meet me at the hotel shortly after dark. Where something nice. -Eric. Well at least now she has plans. She looked at the clock. It read 6:20 pm. The sun went down around 7. She went to her closet to look at what she had that may be considered nice. She decided to go with a mid thigh length white dress. It had a blue floral design. She actually never wore it. She bought it on sale and never had found an occasion. She threw on some white flats and then left.
As she walked through the door of that hotel everything seemed still. There was only one thing that mattered at that moment. Eric. As their eyes met she smiled. He approached her.
"Shall we get going?"
"Where are we going"
"You'll see"
They walked out to his car. A very expensive one at that, not that it was surprising. Pretty much any movie or tv show that has vampires are rich. I guess it's not just a weren't in the car long, maybe five minutes at most.
"So what do you think?"
"It looks a little out of my budget"
Eric chuckled at her comment. They were at a very expensive looking restaurant.
15 minutes later
We were seated at a table away from most other people. The walls were painted a deep red. The tables have lacey white table clothes. Sookie ordered a sweet tea while eric ordered a red wine.
"Can you even drink that?" Sookie asked curious
"No but it be odd not to order anything"
"It definitely would"
"You know you are really pretty"
"Thanks" Sookied said trying not to blush
Suddenly everyone was screaming in chaos. Then Sookie could smell. Smoke. There must be a fire. Before she could think even more Eric picked her up and rushed her out.
"You are just surrounded by bad luck aren't you"
"Are you blaming me for a fire"
"No, just wrong place at the wrong time"
"If you say so"
"Hey how about you come back to my place"
Sookie nodded. She was a little shooking up after everything. She didn't trust herself to make the long drive back home.
