Chapter Two: Help In Unlikely Places
The day was frustrating. The locals of Baton Rouge for the most part seemed friendly enough but we figured out pretty fast that the vamps weren't in the city.
"If their nest isn't in the city than more then likely it's in the bayou." Sam said as he read through newspaper reports on his laptop. Bayou... yeah that sounded like it was going to suck.
"Aren't there like alligators in the bayou?" I asked trepidation clear in my voice. Sam hummed and then responded "And snakes. Big snakes."
I felt the blood drain from my face.
"Great." I said. All I could imagine was the damn movies Anaconda and Lake Placid.
"I'm sure we could find some locals that know the area, from what I understand there are a few Cajun families that live in the bayous."
I sighed and got up. This was starting out pretty damn shitty. I got completely blown off by that hot Andrea chick and now I had to ask for help from some redneck bayou people.
"We'll let's go find us a bayou guid." I groaned and Sam only chuckled. Some brother taking enjoyment from my misery.
It had been hours and every time we asked about a swamp guide we either got the stink eye or told they don't do swamp tours during this season. I was ready to just run in guns blazing but Sammy wouldn't let me.
So while Sam was in the room doing more research to see who we could get to help us out I was back in the same bar nursing a bourbon. I was glaring at the brown liquor in frustration when someone sat across from me.
I looked up and met a pair of green hazel eyes that looked so sultry and sexy that I almost fell out of my chair.
"I heard you're looking for someone to take you out into the bayou." Andrea said as she arched a delicate, full, dark eyebrow.
I cleared my throat and took a sip of my liquor before answering.
"Maybe I am." I told her and she sat back and crossed her arms under her perky breast. She was dressed in a sleeveless blouse with a cardigan over it. It was light and off white and the sweater had stripes of different colors. She had on a pair of black, tight jeans and black boots that looked like military grade combat boots. She was hot as hell.
"Look I know what you're doing." She said as she leaned over the table to speak a little lower. My eyes instantly went dow to the neckline of her shirt where I got a little peek at the nude color bra she had on under the top. I quickly averted me eyes to her face and smirked. "And what's that sweetheart?" I asked as I threw back the bourbon I had been nursing.
"You're a hunter and your looking for a pack of vamps." I almost spat the alcohol out at her words. She leaned back and smiled contentedly.
I sputtered and coughed and looked at her wide eyed. "What?" I asked dumbfounded.
She just smiled making her pretty pouty mouth lift a little in the corners
"Look I'm not an amateur," she said with an eye roll. "I know another hunter when I see one."
"You're a-" I ran a hand over my tired face.
"Look sweetheart we really don't -" she interrupted me.
"Look I know where the nest is and I know the bayou, you need me."
I narrowed my eyes at her. "I thought you said you were from Virginia." I asked suspiciously.
She smiled impishly. "I was born there." She said. "My mother died when I was three months old and my father brought me here to be looked after by my gran. Who I might add lived in the bayou all her life." She then stood up and leaned her hip on the table.
"I grew up in these bayous and I know how to handle myself in a fight."
I groaned. "Okay fine." I wrote down the name of the motel and our room number on a napkin. "Meet us here tomorrow morning." She took the napkin and smiled seductively. "Will do."
She turned to walk away before I called out.
"I'm Dean Winchester." She froze and turned around her eyes wide in surprise.
"Like John Winchester?" She asked. I sat up ramrod straight. "My dad," I answered shortly.
She snorted. "We'll damn what are the odds."
"My name is Andrea Blackwell. You've probably never heard of me but my dad would hunt with yours once in a blue moon."
I sat in stunned silence. "I met him once, you're dad. Seemed like a real hard ass." She then turned away from me. "Anyway I'll see you in the morning Dean.
Once she left the building I sat there completely unsure what to feel. On the one hand I'd love to have a night with her cause damn, on the other she seemed a little dangerous like what Sammy said the other night was very true and that woman would eat me alive. I sighed and got up, paid my tab and walked back to to mine and Sammy's motel.
The next morning
I woke up early the next morning and drove my dad's old pick up to the magnolia motel on highway 59 where Dean said he and his partner were staying. I assumed the guy he was working with was his brother Sam. It was still kind of trippy how I had actually ran into John Winchester's boys after everything that happened with our dads. Not even a week after John was killed, my dad died. I was almost positive the yellowed eyed demon was responsible and I saw it as my familia duty to kill the son of a bitch and hopefully the Winchesters would be welcoming of some help in the matter.
I pulled up the motel and found room 9A on the bottom floor and parked next to a very nice '67 Chevy impala. I recognized it vaguely as the same car John had driven when I had met him when I was seven.
'That must be them.' I thought has I pulled in.
I got out and knocked on the door as loud as I could. It was barely six in the morning and I wasn't sure if the Winchesters were morning people but the sooner we get to the nest the better we'd be. When I didn't get an answer I yelled as loud as I could has I banged on the door again.
"WINCHESTER WE'RE BURNING DAYLIGHT!"
Suddenly the door was jerked opened and an angry and disgruntled Dean with serious bed head was there, he had on a pair of sweats that he looked like he just jerked on since they were backwards and he was shirtless. In his hand was a .45 smith&wesson. I lifted my hands in surrender and gave my man eater smile that I knew made men go weak in the knees.
"Good morning sleeping beauty." I said. The man before me was a fine specimen even when he looked like he'd love nothing more than to strangle me.
"What do you want?" He growled. I smiled and moved to come into the room. Dean moved aside and let me in and that's when I saw the other man, Sam. He was young and handsome like his brother although his hair was longer and had a Zac Effron vibe. He had deep chocolate brown eyes that were different then his brother's green.
"You're Sam right?" I asked as I walked over to extend my hand. Sam seemed like I had woken him up as well but he didn't seem as hostile as Dean.
"Uh yeah." He said taking my hand shaking it. It was strong and firm but gentle. My father always said you could tell a lot about a man by two things; his handshake and the way he treated his mother. "You're Andrea right?" He asked me. I smiled and looked over at Dean.
"Aww you've been talking about me Winchester?" I asked and winked at him. He glared at me and I had to admit that it was fun picking with the man.
"What are you doing here Andrea?" He snapped. I raised an eyebrow.
"You told me to come here to meet you so we could go after the nest remember?" I said slowly as if I was speaking to a imbecile.
"I know that!" He snapped. "I mean at this ungodly hour!"
I huffed and put my hands on my shapely hips.
"You don't wanna be in the bayou at night Dean, it's easy to get lost and the next thing you know is that you're gator food."
I then looked to Sam. "I also thought we'd get breakfast before heading out." I then clapped my hands as I plopped down on Dean's bed.
"Come on children time to get dressed."
The brothers looked at one another then Dean sighed. "I call the shower first." Then he grabbed his clothes and went to the motel bathroom.
I then looked at Sam and as he eyed me curiously I smiled and said. "You're brother is really fun to mess with."
My comment earned me a laugh from the youngest Winchester and he instantly warmed up to me.
A/N: So updates may be kind of slow on this story but I've already got a rough out line for the second book in the series so here is hoping y'all like it. Tell me what you think about Andrea, I'm interested in your thoughts.
