Hey, I'm back from the dead after uploading my borusara short story lol. Unlike the short story this one's gonna have chapters so look forward to it! I'm also currently writing another Uchiha family fanfic as well! Once It reaches about 12k words I'll publish the first chapters. These might be delayed though since I'm going on a week-long vacation on Sunday, so I'm sorry about that :( Most of my written fics or future planned fics are within the Naruto universe but this time the story takes place on Demon Slayer, and as you expect it's heavily giyushino centric :) I won't spoil anymore so please look forward to the story with me haha. If you have any recommendations or criticisms about my work please do let me know in the comments, I'm pretty open-minded about these sorts of things!

If you told Shinobu that she'd survived the war against the demon lord Muzan himself alongside his strongest underling, she would've laughed. She knew her physical capabilities well, and even normal civilians could see that she of all hashiras lacked the strength to properly fight them off. Sure she could outsmart them, but physically? Nope. It was a bitter reality she had come to realize long ago from the moment she join the corps. After her older sister died during the encounter with the upper moon 2, her whole turned upside down. Every day she trained and trained, her very own purpose of existence becoming shrouded with bitter revenge. It was no different than death. Her blood overflowed with wisteria poison, ready to be consumed as a honey trap by demons, but that didn't matter to her. All that mattered was that she was to avenge Kanae. So she was quite in turmoil once she found herself not only alive but married with a child on its way. She had been so engrossed with revenge that she never really expected herself to live this long so she hadn't even thought of the possibility of starting her own family. Yet here she was almost a year later, doing exactly that.
On the wooden deck of the butterfly mansion, a woman with a butterfly hairpin could be seen. She caressed her large belly over her kimono, yearning for the child in her stomach's arrival. As much as she loved her child, she was tired of being pregnant. Nausea, cravings, soreness, lack of movement, and all that comes with the price of her belly full just made her done with it. 'Well I'm already 8 months along, it wouldn't be much longer.'
She's finally avenged Kanae, and now it seems that all there was left for her was to fulfill her utmost greatest wish for her; to have a family and be happy. She smiled, eager at the thought of finally being able to embrace her child. She stood up, one hand durably supporting the bottom of her large stomach She was to be even utmost careful now that her child was to come soon. She jolted in surprise when a cold large hand firmly gripped her shoulders. "Shinobu, be careful."
She chuckled at the sight of her husband. "Ara-ara, but I was?"
Giyuu knows her wife of all people knew her body or anyone's body as a doctor well like it was her own, but he was a worrywart, and no matter what he wanted to make sure both of them were safe at all times. His eyebrows scrunched, and his blue eyes which used to be dull were now full of life once more. "Yes I know, but I can't help but worry."
Now people might think it's even a wonder how both of them got together. Anyone who knew them or saw them together a couple of years back would've popped their eyes off. The relationship from their peers' eyes was nothing but a joke, but secretly at night that was a different story. Yes, you heard that right, they had a rather unique "friends with benefits" kind of relationship for a while, away from the prying eyes. All of that nightly secret "workout" had suddenly blessed them with an unexpected child. After the demons were gone forever it didn't take long for their relationship to skyrocket, and eventually, marry. Now they were patiently waiting for their baby's arrival, longing to finally be able to complete their family of three.
Shinobu knows after this child she wouldn't have another one. Her womb has greatly weakened due to the continuous consumption of wisteria poison for the duration of her pregnancy. Heck, it was supposed to be impossible to even bear a child in such states in the first place, but for some reason, her child survived. Aoi suspected that the child might have adapted to be immune to the poison. If she did try to consume more poison in hopes of a second child also being immune to the toxins in her blood, her body might just give up and she'll die, which she can't risk of doing now. She was grateful enough to be alive as it is. Her miraculous child, whom she loves dearly. As if knowing their mother was thinking of them, the child in her womb kicked. She smiled again, stroking her abdomen, cheery at the child's activeness. "Ara, are you happy to meet your papa, my child?"
Giyuu's lips curved up, his sole hand reaching for her stomach, gently caressing it. It seems as though life couldn't get more merry-go-round right?
Kanao, and Aoi, who had been blissfully watching their master from afar finally spoke. "Shinobu-sama, lunch is ready."
"Oh is that so? Ara ara thank you, Kanao and Aoi for preparing the meals for today. I'm sorry if I couldn't be of help though."
Aoi, noticing the sudden mood swing, nervously but proudly dismissed her thoughts. "Ah don't think of such things, Shinobu-sama! You are with child now so it's important to eat regularly and keep activities low! You have done more than enough for us, so now please allow us to repay you."
Shinobu felt tears forming in her eyes. Her hormones had made her emotional, so even gestures as simple as formal greetings were enough to move her heart. "Aoi.."
Did she really deserve to live so happily after all that's been sacrificed? After living in a tough world shrouded with demons and losing most of their comrades, friends, and family, it seemed like all there was left for them to do was live happily ever after like the stories you hear in fairytales. So why do they suddenly find themselves in front of the past?
Before even more of them could utter a noise, a sudden white light flashed, blinding their eyes closed shut. Instinctively, Shinobu protectively shielded her belly with her arms while Giyuu quickly hugged her into his embrace. Just as swiftly as the light came it disappeared. "What was that?! Shinobu are you-"
Shinobu groggily opened her eyes, dizzy. "We're ok, Giyuu, don't worry."
Giyuu however tightened his embrace, unwilling at the risks of anything happening to his wife and unborn child.
"Shinobu-sama, Tomioka-sama, are you guys ok?" Aoi concerningly asked. She rushed to her master with Kanao trailing behind her. Though she didn't speak Kanao let out a sigh of relief to see that her master was doing well. "Ah, It's ok Aoi, everything's ok." She felt a pang of pain coming from her belly, but didn't want to further worry everyone so instead, she lied.
They were all suddenly stopped short when they heard a young girl scolding them from afar. "Hey you guys, what are you doing here?! No one's allowed in the mansion without permission!"
"Ara ara, Shinobu, we shouldn't be rude, they might be patients!"
Shinobu's eyes widened. 'This voice, It can't be.' She has to be mistaken, but she knew she wasn't. She knew to whom the voices belonged, after all, it's familiarity and calamity had driven her insane all these years, haunting and mocking her for being weak. She froze on the spot, unable to build up the courage to turn her head. Noticing this, Giyuu lowered his head to her ears and with such love whispered. "It's ok, Shinobu, everything alright."
Hearing such comforting words for him, Shinobu slightly let loose the tension that plugged her heart.
Aoi couldn't believe what she was seeing in front of her, fresh tears trickled down her eyes. "Kanae-sama.. Shinobu-sama.."
Younger Shinobu surprised at the revelation that it was just Aoi, exhaled. However, something felt off. Aoi looked.. Older? Well for one she was way taller than she remembered, and her face was chiseled up, signifying the girls' maturity. 'That can't be, Aoi wasn't this tall was she? Why is she crying from seeing Ne-san? Who's that girl with a butterfly hairpin with bangs next to her?'
confused, she looked over to her sister, only to find that her sister was just as bewildered as she was. Her eyes widened when she noticed two people behind the two odd yet familiar girls but couldn't quite look closer as their backs faced them. A man with short spiky black hair tightly embraced with one arm a women, whose hair was tied up in a bun, neatly held together by the same butterfly hairpin as hers. Her mouth widened, and her brows furrowed. 'Why do that women have my hairpin?!' Shinobu's hairpin was one of a kind, which was given to her by her parents the moment she came to the world. It was also unique as well, her parents made sure of that as they were customed made.
Kanae, though confused, clasped her hands. "Uhm, excuse me but you guys.."
Kanao, as straightforward as she was, got impatient and decided to step forward herself, blurting out what they all have been thinking. "I think we traveled back to the past."
Younger Shinobu baffled, couldn't help but yell accusingly. "Future?! What do you mean future?!"
"It's true, Shinobu-sama, it seems that we have traveled to a time when we were once younger."
"Liar! Your lying, there's no such thing as time travel!"
"But it's really true, please trust us, master.."
Kanae stood still, watching her sister argue with the girl who strangely looked just like the young girl they have rescued recently, Kanao. If what she said was true then she really was her, but older. She wasn't as vocal at the moment but deep down she was even more perplexed than her younger sister. Kanae was greatly optimistic, where unlike the others hashiras dreamt of a future where she was to be married and build a family of her own, so the future was in her high interest. She dreams of it happening not only for herself but for everyone as well. She knows it's foolish, and that it'd never happen, but it doesn't stop her from dreaming anyways. Even if it doesn't happen to her, she hopes it'll come true with the girls at least. She observed Aoi's reaction, which to her was odd. It was like a deadman was brought back to life in front of her, and that's when it hit her; Most likely, based on her reactions alone, she probably ended up dead in the future. Softly she bitterly scoffed, but oddly enough she wasn't as sad as she thought she would. Well, deep down I guess she sorta expected it to happen one way or the other.
She was about to stop her sister from arguing any further when a butterfly hairpin caught her eyes. She saw a woman with the same hairpin as her sister in the embrace of a man with one arm. The Kocho's hairpins were special, especially the sisters. They were memoirs from their late parents after all. Unnoticed by anyone, she trembled. If what they said was true and that they really were from the future then this girl could only be one person.
Shinobu's head was dizzy and her knees got weaker. It was too much for her. She's been trying to endure for a bit longer with the current situation they found themselves in, but she can't take it anymore. She held her stomach more firmly as pain aroused her. Water trickled down her thighs. Her abdomen throbbed with nothing but pain. 'This pain that many women warned me about.. Am I gonna give birth now?!' "Ahh.."
Giyuu panicked and held Shinobu even closer. "Shinobu, are you alright?"
At his concern, Aoi and Kanao snapped out of their thoughts and hurriedly made their way to their masters' side. "Shinobu-sama, are you alright?"
Younger Shinobu's eyes widened even bigger as her name was uttered but were instead directed to someone else. 'That woman is me?'
Kanae stopped trembling, her heart pounding. She was really happy to know her sister was still alive. If her suspicions that she was dead were true, knowing her personality she expected Shinobu to take revenge for her, even if it meant dying. Her delight only increases seeing that her younger sister was with a man, who no doubt cared for her deeply. However, her glee was short-lived after noticing that the older Shinobu seemed to be in pain. Without much thought, she steps forward, concerned for the womans well being. At that moment the couple's faces were finally facing theirs and Kanae got even more shocked than she already was. There with a pained face was Shinobu, tightly clutching her rounded belly.
Kanae and younger Shinobu stood dumbfounded at the sudden realization that the older Shinobu was with child. Kanae unlike Shinobu who froze quickly ran to the older Shinobu's side. "Shinobu! Are you ok?!"
Though in pain, Shinobu looked up at the older girl with tears welling up in her eyes. "Ne-san.."
To comfort her, Kanae patted her back with one hand and the other supporting her belly. "It's ok Shinobu, take deep breaths, Where does it hurt?"
Shinobu, unable to speak further from the excruciating pain, lightly patted her abdomen, indicating the pain was indeed coming from her womb. Kanae frowned at this, worried that something has happened to the child. "Then, let's get you inside."
Giyuu who was watching the sisters the whole time had enough. Though he only has one arm, he was a former Hashira alright. He hoisted Shinobu up gently, face stricken with panic. "Please lead the way, Kanae."
Kanae yet again was shocked to find out that the man and Shinobu's lover was none other than the water hashira, Tomioka Giyuu, but she couldn't let that affect her now, not when her sister and niece/nephew was in the line. Swiftly she leads the way into the mansion, entering the closest room nearby. "Aoi, please help set up the futon."
Aoi, though from the future, knows the mansion's structure and where things were stored quite well so that wasn't a problem at all. She looked over to the younger Shinobu who looked confused at all the events quickly passing through her. She smiled and patted her on the head. "Please stay outside for the meanwhile with Kanao, Shinobu."
"Kanao? I uh.. Forget it. Nee-san, I can help.."
"I know, but it's best if you don't see these for yourself. Don't worry, it'll be alright. I know things are confusing right now, especially for you, but I promise to you as your older sister that it'll all be ok."
Shinobu was really weirded out by that; that her older self was going to give birth to a child that shared her blood. It was hella weird the longer she thought of it, but Shinobu felt this overwhelming emotion she has not quite pinpointed yet for the child residing in her older self's belly. Begrudgingly she obeyed her sister. "Ok."
Kanae smiled at her sister and then she shut the shoji closed. Kanae looked collected on the outside but on the inside she was really tense. It'd be better to have as much help as possible but she didn't want her sister to witness all this. Besides who wants to watch yourself give birth? For now, it was up to her and Aoi. As a medical specialist of course she's helped mothers give birth, but never would she have thought the day would come when that mother would be her sister! The pressure and expectations she made for herself heightened with that fact. "Kanae-sama, everything is ready."
Kanae popped from his thoughts to see Shinobu already in the comfort of a futon with Giyuu holding her hands, uttering words of comfort and love. Supplies needed such as buckets of water, towels, and a scissor was all diligently prepared as well. She looked at the older Aoi, satisfied. "Ok, then let's start the procedure."

"C'mon Shinobu, I can their head!"
Shinobu, clenching her husband's hand almost destructively, just wanted everything to be over with. The repeated pain of contractions and the sensation of your private part being ripped open as you imagined is not a pleasant experience. "Damn it sis, do you think I'm not trying?!"
Kanae, sheepishly flinched. "Just a few more pushes!"
Giyuu felt his hand slowly breaking under his wife's grasp, but compared to what she was going through now, it was nothing. He's already lost an arm, he wouldn't mind losing another one if it meant easing Shinobu's pain. Truly he felt bad since after all, it takes two people to make a child but in the end, only the mother pushes the child to the world. He wishes he was the one experiencing it all in her stead instead. "Hear that Shinobu? Just a little bit more-"
A vein popped on her forehead. She was sick and tired of everyone telling her to push one more time. She loved her husband though he was an airhead most of the time, but right now, she really can't deal with him. "Shut up for a second will you?"
Giyuu shivered at the look his wife was giving him. Shinobu was all sweaty, bloody, and haggard but Giyuu thought she couldn't have looked any more beautiful. Even if she lost all her limbs, or that her face becomes deformed, to him no one would be able to surprass the beauty his wife held. He rubbed her hands gently in hopes to calm her down, which seemed to have worked before yet again she screamed.
'Baby can't you already come out and spare your mother the trouble?!' Shinobu gripped the futon tightly to the point that it might snap and rip. She closed her eyes, gasping for air, toes curling. She wanted to take a rest however another contraction hit her. This time however she was determined to end it all. She yelled with her might, and with all her strength pushed as hard as she could. 'Just come out!'
Her hard work was finally rewarded with a piercing cry, heard by all as it echoed throughout the mansion. "Wahhhh!'
At last, it was done, the baby was born. Shinobu slumped on the pillow, body covered in sweat and lungs gasping desperately for air. Though her eyes were shut tight tears trickled down her face. Giyuu froze, not knowing what to do next. He peered down to where the wail was to see his child, THEIR child. In his eyes for now the child just looked like a pink mushed-up blob, but he was amazed at the beauty of their birth. They had quite a strong lung to which he was glad. For all his life Giyuu was so used to those he loved being taken away he had forgotten the feeling of the joy of a new existence brought to one's life. He trembled, his hands silently reaching for the child in the air. What a sight it was for Kanae as the water hashira shed tears of joy. Well not like she was any better, Kanae's tears wouldn't stop flowing the moment she held her sister's child in her arms. After cutting the cord, she handed the child to Aoi for a quick cleanse.
"The child.. How are they..?" Shinobu weakly mumbled under all the strain.
Kanae wiped the tears off her face with her elbow. "It's a very healthy baby boy."
Shinobu, satisfied, allowed herself to sink into the futon deeper. Giyuu caressed her cheeks and kissed her forehead. "Thank you.."
Shinobu was about to tease him about having two cry babies now but Aoi suddenly appeared at her side, kneeling down with the newborn in her arms. Shinobu didn't have the strength in her left to elevate herself and properly hold the infant, but with Aoi's support the child now lays on her chest, crying. She patted his back soothingly, whispering nothing but words of love. Her eyes wept heavy tears once more. She never thought she would even be alive and deserving to experience such blessings life. Slowly the boy quieted down at his mothers' efforts. Giyuu's large hand also found its way to his son's head, patting it softly. They were so small that Giyuu's hands were bigger than his head. He was afraid to hurt him with how fragile he was, so Giyuu made sure to only touch the boy lightly.
Kanae who watched the family of now three from afar couldn't help but feel her heart full at the sight. Finally, after all the siblings went through, her sister can live happily away from the demons' influences just as she wishes. Her dream, which her sister had now fulfilled came true. 'For as long as we dream nothing is out of reach. Please continue to dream, my dear sister.'
Shinobu, finally pleased her son came to the world healthy and well, felt all the pain and fatigue her body had endured till now. Her eyelids closed as her eyes lost focus. Then everything went blank. Unlike in the past, it wasn't unpleasant nor scary, for this time was rather content.

Kanao watched as young Shinobu paced crazily over and over the halls, fidgeting nervously. When the screams from the other side intensified, her small figure would swiftly turn and her sweat would largen. Kanao wasn't any better. She was trembling and sweating. She was scared of what might happen to her master. She heard from many women childbirth was brutal and cruel and that on occasions it took the mother's or child's life. Shinobu had a frail body to begin with, so her worry kept intensifying by the minute. When a sudden cry could be heard from the enclosed room it seems as though time has stopped. Shinobu's heart dropped, eyes widening. "Hah.. The child is born.."
It was weird to say so when the person who just gave birth was you, just older. Her heart brimmed with emotions she so desperately suppressed as a demon slayer. Though she wasn't the one to give birth the child was fully hers, so she couldn't stop but let teardrops fall from her eyes.
Kanao rubbed her back lightly. "Congratulations, Shinobu-sama."
Shinobu couldn't help but laugh light-heartedly. This Kanao was older than her, and unlike her younger counterpart that was emotionless, was a mature young lady. It felt weird to the fourteen-year-old, to be casually congratulated for a birth she took no part in yet. She could only silently nod her head in reply.

And that's the end of this chapter! My goal for this fic is at least 5 chapters with a minimum of 3k words, but idk we'll see haha, Anyways don't mind how indescriptive or how poor my word choices are, I'm not the brightest tool in the shed, and I ain't even gonna blame it at the fact that English is my 3rd language. I'm just stupid and that's that. I'm a big sucker for a giyushino child troupe but I barely find any, so I decided to take it under my own hands and make one myself! Hope you guys enjoyed it! I'm planning on publishing my stories on AO3 once I am able to make an account so please look forward to that as well :)
