Chapter 1
She sat with her legs crossed facing the wall, in the big empty open room, designs similar to Naboo and Coruscant Jedi temple before its destruction.
The dawn sun hitting through the window slightly, the orange hue enhancing her smile, as she grabbed the box sticking her arm into it.
Her baggy dark brown and blue robes splayed on the floor. She rolled up her cloak's sleeve.
"Hey kiddo." A woman with a frail older voice walked in.
The young girl looked slightly up as strands of wavy hair fell on her face.
"Hi Maz."
She'd scoop them behind her bright amber waves, stuffing some into her half braided hair.
Maz stood holding her cane. She would Analyze the girl.
She'd continue to surf through the box with a smile of innocence like a child.
"You look just like him."
Staring at the girl with gleam and warmth, remembering memories of her old acquaintance.
Her figure stood slightly away from the sun's light near the door's dark shadow.
Her smile turned into an expression of confusion as she stopped looking through the box.
"Like who?" The girl would ask.
Maz would say with a warm smile "Like Anakin."
Her smile would return looking at Maz.
She'd continue speaking, walking closer to her "I've seen many faces but that's one I'll never forget."
"I know."
Picking up stacks of books, placing them to the side of the box. She'd grab a slightly worn medal.
"This was my great grandfather's"
She'd say with her precious smile, her hazel eyes glimmering in the sun, as she touched the medal and its engravings.
"Yes it was…" she'd smile softly, her small eyes would squint at her.
"You must've known my whole family." The girl stared with wonder, still looking through the box.
"Well, I did know some more well than others." Maz sighed subtly.
"Well there was my Mother, my GrandFather, my Great GrandMother, and My Great Great Grandfather."
Maz would say "Don't forget Luke, and Anakin's Mother. She was the First Skywalker."
She'd smile "Right. But Anakin was the first Jedi in my family, right?"
She'd say hesitating on the information being true or not.
"He was. He was also the first Sith." Maz would look directly at her.
"Oh…" the girl would say, pausing.
Maz would say realizing something as she stared at her.
"You know…it seems to be a generational pattern."
"What do you mean?"
Maz continued "With genetics certain traits can skip generations."
The girl looked confused. "Oh?"
Maz continued "Maybe so does the darkside."
"Anakin was one, then it skipped, Ben solo was, then it skipped…-"
Maz would pause, her eyes slowly looking at the girl who'd now have a serious frown.
"Maz…?" She'd get worried as she scooted closer.
"What're you saying…?"
She already knew the truth of what Maz meant she was refusing to accept what could be her fate.
She looked down at her hands that lay on her thighs.
Maz got closer slowly lifting her chin up
"You are compassionate, and a kind person, traits the Skywalkers have. You will be strong enough not to succumb to it."
She'd grab the girl's hand, trying to reassure her.
A small wave of fear rose over her, she ignored what may come.
"It will be fine. I will not fall like my fathers before me."
She'd turned around quickly packing up the box.
She stood up leaving the box. On the verge of tears trying to calm her heart rate she looked at Maz.
"You cannot tell anybody." She'd say with desperate eyes.
Maz looked at her surprised "Adeline…there are people who can help, this isn't something you should-"
She interrupted Maz "No, at least not yet…I need time. Promise me you won't tell anyone."
Maz sighed worriedly, she gave in saying softly "Okay."
Adeline got up, her frown going back to her warm smile. Walking towards the door.
"It may not ever happen. You shouldn't worry." She tried to lighten the situation.
Adeline stopped, she turned around "I know. It's just a coincidence."
She turned back walking. Maz still stood, now holding her hands on top of the cane's stump. Looking at the box.
She'd worried in her years of living she'd never witnessed an early sign of what could be. She was conflicted on whether to tell the Council or keep her promise to Adeline. She wasn't sure if it could even come true.
Like Adeline had said it was truly a coincidence. Merely an observation she had made. She may be thinking now it was a mistake to ever mention it.
Adeline walked the hallway, as she passed by the glass stained windows and pillars, other Jedi's stood around in the hallways, she'd greet them by nodding her head as she passed by them.
She had a look of determination as she walked around the corner
seeing cloaked figures, an older woman in blue robes with a brown cloak, and a taller man with tan robes and a brown cloak as well.
Adeline walked up to them. The woman's smile grew as she hugged her "Hi, darling" she'd chuckle looking back at her.
"Hi Mother." She'd look at the man nodding at him "Uncle." The man cleared his throat holding his robes,
"Hello young one." he'd say soothingly. She'd jokingly make a sour face at him.
Her Mother spoke, her pale skin, dark raven hair, and hazel eyes partially glimmered in the light. "What can I do for you dear?" As she held Adeline's hands.
Adeline remembered glancing at 'historical books' she suddenly wanted to learn more about her family's past without them being aware.
"I wanted to request to take a starfighter to Coruscant and Naboo." She'd say with assertion.
Her Mother made a slight frown "I'm sorry Adeline that request has to be taken up with the Grandmaster."
Adeline pulled away standing straight up; her stance was a response to not getting her way with her Mother.
"Fine." She'd say with slight annoyance.
She'd speak feeling small guilt. "There's only so much we can do on The Council".
Adeline held her hands in her robe, in a professional manner.
"I will go ask Grandmaster then."
She'd smile softly trying to break the tension arising, as she saw the look on their faces.
Bowing at them individually.
"Master Skywalker, Master Cadru."
She turned around, walking into the hallway behind her that was shadowed; covered by the sun.
Lynn stared at her daughter worried, having a difficult time reading her emotions. Malcolm could sense her worriedness.
"Should I be this worried? She's just a child."
He tried to ease her mind "I remember us at that age, a rebellious bunch we were."
She raised her brow "We…?" Malcolm chuckled "Ohh yes, I remember you being the rebellious of all."
They'd turn around as they teasingly made faces "I think the General would disagree. I saw how much you hated when he was around me…" She'd say grinning, as the chitter became indistinctly.
Adeline walked with a cold look in her eye. She saw the Grandmaster walking slowly alongside the vined-covered pillars near the squared balcony-like room as the Grandmaster looked down, seeing the floors below of the beautiful nature like architecture.
Adeline bowed "Grandmaster Skywalker."
The older woman said "Hello granddaughter." She'd start to walk slowly down the hallway Adeline had come from.
"I have a request that Master Cadru said I should address you with." Her robes were pure white as her gray cloak surrounded her "It must be very important then."
Adeline sighed trying to keep up with her "I wouldn't say that, but I believe it's to avoid a Council meeting." Adeline continued, "I would like to go to Coruscant and Naboo."
Rey stopped in her path, "Very strange you'd want to visit places you never had an interest in until now."
Her old happy smile grazed Adeline.
How bad Adeline wanted to roll her eyes but couldn't.
"What brought you to have this sudden interest?" She'd say.
"A- academic mission about the history of the planets." She'd say making something up.
Rey looked at the ground thinking. Adeline worried she'd reject the request so she blurted out jumping in front of Rey.
"I know I'm just a Padawan but I assure you my intentions are nothing more than simply knowing the major historical events that happened."
Rey sighed looking at Adeline "Very well."
Adeline grinned.
"But- Master Skywalker will go with you."
Adeline whined "Whyyy?"
"You are still a Padawan, Master Skywalker and I outrank you. And it's for your safety."
Adeline huffed "I understand Grandmaster. I will get a ship ready." Rey nodded "I will inform him."
Adeline bowed feeling the rage and annoyance, she thought to herself it's just teen moodswings . She walked along heading to the hangar, while comming for R2 to meet her there.
