Joyce walked into her home groaning as she laid down on her couch with her dirty clothes from work still on. Joyce laid down on the couch groaning in misery as she flicked a dolphin bobblehead. "Donna, darling. Look what happened to me." Joyce cried as she flicked her dolphin bobblehead. "I was once the Under Secretary of Water Leisure, but now I'm nothing but a janitor for a stupid fast food establishment." Joyce wept as she kept flicking Donna. "It's all that boy's fault." Joyce's demeanor began to change from one of sadness to one of anger.
Joyce remembered how she was so close to destroying that stupid town to make room for a sixth Great Lake, but instead she was stopped by that white haired boy after he sang one little song. Oh how she hated thinking about that stupid white haired boy, she couldn't forget his name Lincoln. Oh how she hated him if it wasn't for him she would have succeeded and been promoted to Over Secretary of Water Leisure, but instead she was fired and forced to get a new job as a janitor. Joyce wanted nothing but to get revenge on Lincoln, she wanted nothing but to see him suffer for what he did to her.
"But how am I supposed to get my revenge?" Joyce asked her bobblehead Donna as she flicked her. "Those townies would run me out the minute I showed up, and I doubt that boy has done anything illegal unless ... He Has!" Joyce cackled as she got a devious idea. "There has to be some dumb law still in the books that says something that, that boy did was illegal. I just have to find it."
In an attempt to discover anything Lincoln did that violated Michigan law, she searched through every legal document and web page she could find. She spent countless hours looking, and she was not going to rest until she discovered evidence that the boy had committed a criminal offense or until she had read every Michigan statute, whichever came first. Joyce searched desperately and was beginning to lose hope when she finally discovered it—a dated legislation from the late 1800s that was still on the books and stated that what Lincoln did was illegal. It was an absurd law, but Joyce didn't care as long as she could use it to exact revenge on Lincoln.
"Darling Donna Finally, I found it." Joyce laughed maniacally as she prepared to exact retribution on the lad who had wronged her, but she had a thought that would spoil her great fortune. "But those police in that town must all despise me. Furthermore, no honorable police officer will detain a child in violation of an outdated legislation from the 1800s." This was going to be a very difficult challenge for Joyce to get through, and she sighed in frustration. "Unless I get some not so respectable officers," Joyce said while sporting a cunning grin. "There must be some dishonest police officers outside of Royal Woods who would take a little bribe in exchange for apprehending a child for breaching a law that hardly anyone is aware of."
Joyce called several times, but each time they would hang up on her, either because they didn't want to arrest a child for a law they didn't even know about or because they wanted to help the woman who tried to flood an entire town. Joyce contacted another police officer, hoping that this one wouldn't hang up like the others, as she kept calling every police station in Michigan.
"Hello, I want to tell you." Joyce was about to keep speaking only for the policeman on the other end of the line abruptly ended her sentence.
"You must be Joyce word travels fast, and I've heard that you've been calling every police officer in the state hoping to find one that would arrest a child from a town called Royal Woods, am I correct?" The officer asked his voice was calm yet threatening.
"Y-Yes." Joyce paused mid-sentence, fearful that this officer would end the call the same way the others had.
"I could hang up just like all of the others have, but I think me and some others could arrest this kid, but we're going to need something in return." The officer said in a commanding tone of voice.
"What do you want?"
"Money, how much can you give me?"
"One Hundred Thousand Dollars." Joyce said with a smirk she still had a lot of money from when she was the Under Secretary of Water Leisure, and sure this was almost a quarter of all of the money she had, but this would all be worth it in the end when that stupid boy would be rotting away in a prison cell for the rest of his miserable life.
"You have yourself a deal." The officer said as he cracked his knuckles. "Me and my pals will have this kid locked up, and then we'll be expecting the money."
The police officer hung up and got up from his seat and looked at the six other officers sitting around him, they all had devious smiles on their faces. Sure it was wrong of them to arrest a kid who only wanted to save his home, but he still broke the law. They didn't care if it was a law that no one knew about, they were getting paid handsomely to arrest this kid.
The others cheered as the officer spoke in a firm voice and cracked his knuckles with a cruel grin on his face. " Watch out kid Norman's coming." The officer got up while the others followed him, Norman was planning on arresting this kid and than getting his reward money.
In Royal Woods Lincoln was waiting for school to finally end, he and his friends were going to the big celebration after school, and Lincoln felt like he couldn't wait any longer. Time seemed to slow down each second felt like an hour. Soon after what felt like an eternity school finally ended and Lincoln plus other students running through the halls and out of the school. Running through the hallway Lincoln was quickly tackled and pinned down by his sister Lynn.
"No running in the halls, Stinkin!" Lynn barked at her brother as she had her pinned down.
"Come on Lynn, did you have to tackle me? Also, why did you go after me when everyone else is doing the same thing?" Lincoln asked his sister, pointing out all the other students who were running through the hall wanting to leave school wanting to enjoy the weekend as soon as possible.
"He has a point." Liam said agreeing with his friend.
"Fine, I'll let you go, Stinkin." Lynn groaned as she let her brother up. "I'm going to the celebration with my teammates, so I can't spend all of my time watching you Stinkin."
"Does she always call you that?" Liam asked his friend.
"Yes." Lincoln responded as he and Liam walked out of the middle school and met up with their friends. All of them had already told their parents that they weren't taking the bus since they would head to the middle of town after school, where everyone else in Royal Woods would also be heading.
A couple of miles away from Royal Woods Joyce was sitting next to Norman in his police car, with seven other police cars following them. They all had one destination in mind: Royal Woods. All of them, especially Norman, couldn't wait to get to this nowhere town, arrest this kid and get their reward money from Joyce.
"I'll exact my vengeance on that child soon, Donna, darling." Joyce said as she flicked her dolphin bobblehead, which made Norman grunt in irritation. He was eager to collect his prize money and leave Joyce behind. She had already begun to irritate him. Driving closer and closer, Joyce and Norman both had devious smiles across their faces as they saw a sign that said welcome to Royal Woods.
In the middle of Royal Woods everyone was gathered around in the middle of town, as Mayor Davis stood in front of them about to give a speech. "Everyone, a few months ago our town was at risk of being destroyed to make room for a sixth Great Lake." Mayor Davis spoke as everyone in the crowd remembered when their homes were at risk of being destroyed. "But thanks to all of you we stopped Joyce from flooding our homes!"
All of Royal Woods cheered as the celebration was about to stop, only for them to see someone who they hoped to never see again. "Hello people of Royal Woods. I am so glad to see you all here." Joyce smiled as everyone in the town glared at her wondering what she was doing here.
"Why are you here?" Albert asked in a threatening tone of voice. He wanted Joyce to leave as soon as possible.
"You already tried to flood our town once. We're not going to let you destroy our homes." Grant yelled at Joyce.
"Why did you come back!?" Ms. Carmichael asked Joyce.
Everyone in Royal Woods started talking with each other, everyone wondering what Joyce was doing here.
"Relax, I didn't come here to flood your town. I came here to arrest someone in this town who is a lawbreaker." Joyce stated, causing everyone to stand in complete shock, as Joyce looked over at Lincoln. "Lincoln Loud."
"Lincoln never did anything Illegal!" Clyde stated defending his friend.
"Clyde's right, Lincoln saved our home. He's a hero!" Stella yelled.
"A hero?" Joyce laughed. "He's a criminal who broke the law, see?" Joyce said, showing everyone a printed page of the law that said what Lincoln did was illegal.
Seeing this the citizens of Royal Woods talked with each other, some thinking Lincoln needs to be arrested for breaking the law while most thought that Lincoln shouldn't be arrested for a law that they didn't know about.
"That's not fair!" Rita yelled in defense of her son. "No one here knew that was a law, I doubt anyone else in the state knows about this law!"
"We're not going to let you arrest Linky." Leni stated.
"He saved our town, who cares if he broke an old law that no one knows about." Zach stated in defense of his friend.
Lori then walked over to her brother and stood next to him as she glared at Joyce. "My brother stopped you from flooding our town, and I will not let you arrest my little brother.
"I know you all see him as a hero, but what he did was still against the law." Joyce stated. "If you let him go free, then that means you think criminals shouldn't be arrested if people think that they're good. He still broke the law."
Everyone in the town didn't know what to think most of them still thought that Lincoln shouldn't be arrested, while some were starting to believe that even though Lincoln saved their homes he still needs to be put in prison for breaking the law. The Louds especially didn't know what to think.
"Incoln broke law." Lily said shocked.
No one knew what to think and Lincoln felt terrified as he saw some police officers he had never seen before in Royal Woods start to walk out of their vehicles. "Officers, arrest this child." Joyce ordered as the police officers marched towards Lincoln. Lincoln could feel a shiver of fear crawl down his spine as he saw the main officer a tall and extremely muscular man who was walking towards Lincoln ready to handcuff him. Lincoln gulped as he saw all the police officers and Joyce surround him.
"You're under arrest." Norman said in a threatening tone as voice as he got ready to handcuff Lincoln.
"LINCOLN RUN!" Stella yelled in a state of urgency. Lincoln ran as fast as he could, and seeing this Norman got angry as he saw Lincoln duck under him and run right before he could handcuff him.
"Don't just stand there grab him!" Norman yelled at his fellow officers. The police officers chased Lincoln, with Lincoln trying to avoid them.
"Got you now!" a female officer yelled as she tried to tackle Lincoln. Desperately Lincoln jumped into the air and grabbed a tree branch and used it to fling himself through the air. When Lincoln landed, he saw another officer standing right in front of him. The officer tried to pin Lincoln down but Lincoln was smart and ducked under the officer's leg and kept running.
Lincoln didn't look back as he kept running as fast as he could, Lincoln knew that he couldn't slow down because if he did the police officers would arrest him he could do nothing but run.
"You can't run forever albino!" Norman yelled as he and the other officers kept chasing after Lincoln all across Royal Woods
Two officers tried to tackle Lincoln but he jumped as the two of them leaped to tackle him causing the two officers to tackle each other.
"IDIOTS!" Norman yelled out in anger. "Can't one of you catch one kid!?" Norman started charging at Lincoln at full speed until he finally caught up to Lincoln. "I got you now!"
It filled Lincoln with terror as Norman was about to grab him. Norman laughed triumphantly, only to feel something pulling him back. Norman looked and saw Lori trying to hold him back. "Let me go!"
"Lincoln Go!" Lori yelled. "I can't keep him still for much longer."
Norman yelled furiously as he threw the Lori to the ground, and then he saw Lincoln escape into a forest on the outskirts of Royal Woods. Seeing that Lincoln had run into the forest, Norman got out his pistol and fired at Lincoln.
"Shot him!" Norman ordered.
"But he's a child!" Another officer questioned. "You aren't going to have us shot a kid?"
"I do not care! Fire!"
Norman was still shooting as Lincoln the officers hesitated for a bit but soon began to shoot at Lincoln, everyone in Royal Woods who could see what was happening where in shock these officers were shooting at a kid.
Lincoln kept running through the forest as fast as he could. He didn't know if the police officers were still chasing him and he didn't want to take any chances. Soon Lincoln was so far in the forest that no one could see him.
Everyone who was on Lincoln's side celebrated and begun to taunt Joyce. "You're never going to find him!" Luna taunted.
"Seems that you and your big bad police officers couldn't catch one kid." Nadia taunted.
Joyce grinds her teeth in anger. Seeing everyone taunting her and the officers for failing to catch Lincoln. He might have gotten away this time, but in Joyce's mind, they would find him. It was only a matter of time.
"This is Katherine Mulligan coming to you live, to say that this horrible woman, and these officers failed to catch one little boy." Katherine Mulligan taunted.
"Even with all of your police officers, you still couldn't catch my son." Lynn Sr. taunted, but mostly just happy that his son escaped.
"That brat! I'll hunt him down and I'll find him! No matter what." Joyce said in a sadistic tone of voice. Joyce and the officers begin to walk into the forest to find Lincoln.
"Hurry up!" Norman yelled as he ordered the other police officers to hurry up, he wanted to catch this albino as soon as possible. Seeing this the citizens of Royal Woods began to get worried about what might happen to Lincoln, they knew he was safe but the question was for how long?
""I really hope they don't find Lincoln." Rusty said, nervous that Joyce would find his friend.
"Me too Rust me too." Liam said, hoping Lincoln wouldn't be found.
"What can we do now?" Lana asked as she looked up at Rita.
"There's nothing we can do. All we can do now is hope for the best." Rita sighed, hoping her son would be safe.
Lincoln is sprinting alongside a long road that cuts through the forest running and running Lincoln begins to grow tired so he stops running and begins to walk, he knew he couldn't stop but he couldn't see Joyce or any of the officers so it seemed it was safe for him to slow down and walk instead of run. As he walked across the road, Lincoln had a thought that Joyce and the police might use the road to find him, so he walked off the road and walked into the forest where the tall trees surrounded him. He hoped he would not get lost.
Continuing to walk through the forest Lincoln was starting to grow tired as he walked further into the forest, Lincoln looked up and could see the moon glowing in the night sky, taking a look at his phone Lincoln saw it was a bit pass 9 PM, Lincoln sighed as his legs felt tired from walking for so long. He felt that he was so deep in the forest that Joyce wouldn't be able to find him, still he had to be conscious so he kept walking until he saw some bushes that he could hide in while he got some rest.
While laying in the bushes, Lincoln saw he had gotten a text. He checked and saw that Stella had texted him.
"Are you safe?" The text read.
Lincoln texted Stella back telling her he was alright, and that he was safe. A couple of seconds later, Lincoln got another text from Stella.
"Me and the others have been talking and wherever you are, don't come back to Royal Woods it isn't safe Joyce is still after you, so you need to stay hidden and don't let her find you. I'll text you back when it's safe to come back home. Good luck." Stella's last text read.
After reading Stella's last text, Lincoln sent Stella a thumbs up emoji. After that turned his phone off before laying down hidden in the bushes as he fell asleep.
