{Leah POV}

I could not believe that this was happening. I was in Italy! Sure, I was here on account of Bella, but I was here. I had given up hope of going anywhere after I had changed into a wolf. But Bella brought me along. When she was first brought to the Rez I wanted to keep my distance but after I began to have conversations with her, I couldn't brush her off. She had not wanted to be a vampire. The choice was taken from her. That leach Edward Cullen had dazzled her to the point she was almost mentally broken when he and his family left. She had been completely dependent on him. Bells had told me everything that had happened. It sounded like this Jasper dude had not tried to attack her but was trying to get her away from the room at her birthday event. It also sounded to me that Alice was into Bella, hard. Rosalie and I were very similar in personality. Emmett was a goofy teddy bear. Carlisle loathed what he was and tried everything he could to be as kind and helpful to those around him stranger or family as possible. Then Esme sounded just like my own mother. Then there was Edward. He loathed himself just as much as he loathed that he was a vampire. But the fact that they left Bella with this danger looming. The danger that killed my father and got Bella changed. I won't forgive him.

"Leah!" Bella called.

I looked around and saw Bella waving me over to a cafe. I was entranced with Italy. Tuscany was gorgeous in the twilight. It must be a sight in the daylight. I couldn't wait. Bella was going to help me find an apartment and then help me get into a university around here. She was going to find the Volturi tonight. I would go with her to corroborate the story.

I joined her at the table she was at. She had ordered some pasta and pizza for me. I was grateful. I spoke very little Italian but hopefully here I would adapt quickly. She told me that she had ordered a cab with the waiters help to get us to Volterra. The food arrived quickly, and I was famished. It smelled delicious. The food disappeared in quick order and no sooner was I done there was a cab pulling up near us. I paid the check, and we entered the cab with our luggage. The drive to Volterra only took half an hour. The driver even dropped us off in front of the historic castle. Bells paid him as I got my luggage out. After he was away from us, we headed towards the castle door. We entered and saw down the long hall was a reception desk with a lady clattering away at a computer.

"Ciao." the lady greeted.

We both greeted her back. Bella asked if she knew English and she did. Gianna was her name. We conversed with her for a minute and Bella asked about the masters. Gianna said she'd call down for an attendant. She did and told us someone would be with us shortly. A couple of minutes passed when the elevator dinged. A gorgeous blonde woman, vampire, came off the elevator. She was dressed in a very tasteful business dress in blue and white. High stilettos in white adorned her feet. She greeted Gianna and in turned Gianna brought her attention to us. She greeted us and spoke English. She was Heidi and said she would take us to the Masters. She wrinkled her nose at me and apologized, something about the smell of wet dog. Good. Her odor was just as offensive to me as mine was to her.

Before I knew it the elevator dinged, and we were being shuffled off. Heidi took us to a large ornate heavy looking door. She opened it with ease and we entered. The smell was atrocious. It was all powdery and sickenly-sweet like cotton candy perfume and sweet grass but there was an underlying faint metallic blood smell.

"Heidi, my dear, who have you brought." A voice asked.

I looked to the voice and saw a vampire. He was probably early 30ish looking but from the air around him said he was much older. His hair was longer and black, he had roman features and there was a slight accent in his voice that I couldn't place. Heidi reached her hand out for him, and he took it in his. That was strange but then again Bella did warn me what little she knew of the Volturi. He dropped Heidi's hand and approached us.

"Ladies." he greeted and held his hand out to Bella first.

Bella hesitated but then gave him her hand. He gave a confused look. Then released her hand. He then turned back to the dais he had come from. I noticed that there was two more men up there. One was older, 40ish with white-blonde hair and a scowl. The other was younger 20ish with longer dark hair, and he looked both sad and bored. The man sat in the middle seat and addressed us.

"It's not every day that I cannot read someone's mind. I am intrigued." he said to Bella, "Just why are you here?"

Bella introduced herself. She was Isabella Swan, and she was here because the Cullen's more specifically Edward Cullen ran out on her and left her to fend for herself as a human against two nomadic vampires named Victoria and Laurent. She knew about the vampire world and Edward had no inclinations to ever change her, he had in fact stopped her from being changed once before after James, Victoria's murdered mate, had bit her. She showed him the bite on her arm. He had enthralled her to the point of barely functioning and then left her. Then Laurent came for her. He was going to kill her, but he was stopped before he could finish and was destroyed by the local shapeshifters. She was then left to change alone with the help of the shapeshifters and was now in Italy to learn what she needed to and see if she may have a place among them. She also let them know that Edward had never been able to use his gift on her either.

"Brother, perhaps Eleazar should make a visit so we can know what Miss Isabella is gifted with." he said to the blonde, who nodded.

"The Cullens must be brought in." the blonde growled angrily.

"Now, you." he addressed me.

"I am here as an emissary of my tribe. I am Leah Clearwater. I am a shapeshifter." I declared proudly and calmly.

My wolf was near the surface. The middle vampire approached me then. He offered his hand to me, and I gave it to him. He held my hand for just a couple minutes. Then he released my hand with a grin.

"Oh my. What to do?" he said and turned back to the other two, "Isabella seems to be telling the truth. The Cullen's must be brought in. Demetri!"

What was going on? Were we in trouble? Bella looked to him in distress. He informed us that we were not in any trouble. We were perfectly fine. He then made introductions to whom he and his brothers were. He was Aro. Bored and sad was Marcus and Caius was the angry one. The door behind us opened in.

"Ahh, Demetri. Perfect timing." Aro greeted as I turned to the newcomer.

Everything stopped for me. I gripped Bella's hand. My left hand flew to my face as I gasped. I stared at him in wonder and amazement. He, this Demetri, was my imprint. It barely registered with me that he was right in front of me. His hands were cupping my face, whispering Italian as he lightly kissed me. He was tall, over 6 foot. His hair was black and slightly looking like bed head. He had an olive complexion, and his eyes were bright red. My wolf yipped in my mind and wagged her tail excitedly.

"What is going on?" Caius growled.

I barely registered that Bella spoke. A clearing of a throat pulled Demetri's attention to them. I glanced up and noticed that Aro was there. Demetri offered his hand and Aro accepted it. Then he released it. He moved to Marcus who had sat up and was taking a bit of interest in the room. He offered his hand to Aro, who nodded and released it.

"Caius, Miss Clearwater and Demetri are bonded. They are mates. Just as Miss Swan said, Miss Clearwater imprinted on him. That is an equivalent of a mate bond for shifters." Aro informed him, "Miss Swan you have two mates out there. Marcus can show bonds. You are part of a triad."

"Yes sir." Bella said respectfully.

"Now, Caius would you do the honors of setting a date and having the Cullens brought here by Demetri? Miss Clearwater would it be difficult to meet with the Elders and Alpha of your tribe? A video chat if it would be better?" Aro asked of me.

"A video chat would be better. My tribe is of humble means. And the current chief is in a wheelchair and Old Quill is very on up in age." I mentioned.

"Very well. Heidi will you please show our guests to their rooms?" he asked of her.

Heidi smiled and moved forward. We followed her. Demetri nodded and I took that as he would be with me shortly. After the door closed Heidi was grinning ear to ear. Apparently, she was happy for Demetri. He had been mate-less for so long. He was over one thousand years old and had never come across anyone that was a match for him. That was a long time to be alone.

(Jasper POV)

A heavy sigh escaped my lips. Peter called. He had a feeling. His knower was going off. Alice and I needed to be in Volterra when the Cullens were called to go. Alice had a vision just moments before Peter called that the Cullens were going to be called to Volterra soon and it was concerning Bella. She and I were of the mind that Aro knew of Bella and that they had left her human. She had known about them. He probably wanted to know if this had happened before or if this would happen again. Alice finished up her meal of coyote and waited for me to speak. I looked over at her and handed her the phone. I wanted her to call Carlisle. She did and waited for him to answer.

"Alice?" his voice came through the phone.

"Carlisle." she greeted.

"How are you both?" he asked.

"We're good. Um, Volterra will be calling. I had a vision, and they know about Bella." she told him.

Carlisle was quiet for many minutes then he sighed heavily. Even over the phone line I could feel his emotions, they were so palpable. Alice stiffened then. A vision was overtaking her. I pulled the phone from her hand and told Carlisle she was getting another vision. He and I were waiting patiently for it to end. When it did, she motioned for the phone.

"Edward, is heading for Volterra. He means to kill himself since Bella is no longer with the living." she informed him.

"Thank you, Alice." he said wearily.

"Get tickets now." she said and hung up and began ordering flight tickets for Tuscany.

She got the last two for the earliest flight. We would arrive before Edward. We sped home to pack and get the the airport. Everything whirled around us and before I knew it the plane was taking off with us headed for Volterra.
