For Jack it's sort of a family tradition, for Sam it's her dad's imminent demise that forces her to think about being a mother.

All devices did not reorient to search for eventual aggressive Goa'uld activity until Late March 1997. Making it so that Earth did not miss an unexpected visitor. Absolute AU.
