Prompt: Starting a new tradition
"Not all traditions have to be for sad events," Amity said.
Luz looked at her in surprise. "Huh?"
Amity smiled a bit. "Sorry, I was just… thinking about your tradition with your mother. The anniversary… of your father…"
"Ah," Luz whispered. The two of them were seated on the Noceda family's porch, gazing at the stars above. "Yeah, I… I know. But I've never really had any traditions based on good things."
"We can make one," Amity suggested.
Luz looked at her in surprise. "Huh?"
"We can make our own tradition," Amity said, reaching towards Luz and clasping her hands in hers. "Maybe an anniversary for the day we met?"
Luz grinned. "You mean when you almost got me dissected?"
Amity laughed. "Okay, maybe not that day. How about the day we got together?"
That day was definitely important to Luz. "Alright," she whispered. "Yeah. That sounds good."
"What should we do on that day?" Amity asked.
"Spend the entire day together," Luz immediately said. "I want to just be with you."
Amity smiled. "That sounds amazing."
When their one-year anniversary came, they remembered what they had talked about back then.
They spent the entire day together, and it was amazing.
Luz was glad to have such an awesome girlfriend.
