This is a story I wanted to write about the time when Sofia was fourteen years old where she gets to meet new allies and battle the forces of evil. And this also focuses after the events of Elena became Queen of Avalor. So without further ado, enjoy the story.

A long time ago, before the time of the Protectors, lies an ancient magical kingdom of Avaria. Avaria was one of the most legendary kingdom in all of the Ever Realm. The Avarians were magically enhanced people known for using the magical crystals as they forged them into magical artifacts and powerful weapons unlike anything the world has ever known.
Then the Darkness came as it began to destroy the kingdom and it's people. The King of Avaria leading his army of Avarians to fight off the Darkness but they paid the price. After the battle, the kingdom of Avaria falls into ruin and the people were vanished. Avaria's kingdom and it's history became the stuff of myth and legend throughout the entire Ever Realm.
But some say the Avarian magic still exists in the Ever Realm. Would those who would seek the ancient magic to protect it's secrets or used them for their conquest for power? The mystery remains...
It was a bright afternoon in the kingdom of Enchancia. Fourteen year old Princess Sofia was playing with her teenage stepsiblings Prince James and Princess Amber at the field.
It's been four years since Sofia have saved both Mystic Isles and the Ever Realm from Vor and became a full Protector of the Ever Realm. Since then, she adjusted her new life as the Protector and as time went by, she knows how to handle some obstacles.
"And that's the game!" Sofia said as she and others sits on the ground, drinking their water bottles.
"It's such a beautiful afternoon today, isn't it guys?" Amber asked.
"Yep. A very good afternoon it is." James said as he stretched his arms. "You guys want some snacks from Chef Andre's kitchen?"
"Oh yes, I'm so hungry for snacks." Sofia said.
"I'm hungry as well, so can you get some for us, James." Amber said.
"You got it." James runs to the castle to get some snacks. The girls then lay their heads down as they watched the clear sky.
"You know, this reminds us of how we get to see Mystic Isles for the first time in our eyes." Sofia smiled.
"Yeah, those good memories." Amber said as she noticed Sofia adjusted her Enchantlet on her right wrist. "Can I ask you something Sofia?"
"What is it, Amber?"
"How is it feel when you became the Protector of the Ever Realm for the first time?"
Sofia sighed as she began to talk. "For the first time, it was hard at first but I just did a few steps with the help of Chrysta and that's where I got my Enchantlet."
"That's very impressive." Amber smiled and begin to think of something. "You know, I always wonder if I can become the Protector like you."
"Really?" Sofia wondered. "And mind tell me why would you want to be a Protector, dear sister?"
"It's because that if I become the kingdom's future queen, how am I suppose to defend our home from evil forces that plots to threaten our kingdom. Probably I want to have one of those Enchantlets."
"You know, I'm sure Orion, Vega and Chrysta can help you to be a Protector." Sofia said.
"Really?" Amber asked.
"Of course. They can help teach you how to get the Echantlet and use it to defend the kingdom." Sofia smiled at her sister. 'Would that be fun?"
Amber shrugged. "Guess I can try someday."
"I'm sure you can." Sofia said. James came back from the kitchen with three apples in his hands.
"I'm back. Brought you some apples." James said as the girls take their apples leaving James his apple.
"Thanks James." Sofia, Amber and James took the bite of their apples.
"So what are you girls talking about while I was in the kitchen?" James asked.
"Amber dreams of becoming the Protector and future queen of Enchancia." Sofia explained.
"Really?" James asked, raised his one eyebrow at Amber.
"That's right. I'm going to be both the Queen and Protector so I can defend our home from evil." Amber said, proudly.
"Good luck with that you'll have two jobs in one." James snickered as Amber smack him on the head with her hand. "Ow!"
"Jerk." Amber huffed angrily and turned her back on her brother. Sofia giggled, seeing her siblings were arguing funny. After she eats her apple, Sofia stands up from sitting on the ground.
"Hey guys. Wanna go play chess back in the castle?" Sofia asked the two.
"Sure thing Sof." James said before facing at Amber. "Winner gets to have some jiggly wiggly pudding."
"You're on." Amber said as the two stands up and race back to the castle. Sofia giggles and shook her head as she went back inside the castle to join them.
Somewhere far away from Enchancia, lies the dark fortress that was on the bottom of the dark mountain pass.
Inside of the fortress is the tall elderly wizard around in his forty's has fair skin, with black eyes, short dark greybeard and wears a crown with a cyan jewel over his bald head. He was dressed in his golden vest over his dark purple long sleeve suit with matching pants, orange belt and golden boots. He was looking at the maps, like he was searching for something or someone.
The doors opened, revealing a hooded figure came in. The figure was a woman has white eyes, dark brown skin and short shoulder length dark hair. Her face was covered in dark tattoos. She also dressed in her dark grey corset over her dark suit with a grey right shoulder pad, grey fingerless gloves, dark matching pants and boots. She also has sheathed twin swords on her back.
"Ebony, old friend." The wizard said, looking behind the hooded figure. "How are you?"
"I was suspecting somebody who hired me from my years of best hunting game, and it turns out that it was you, Lord Amon." Ebony smirked as she stepped inside.
"Forgive me for not finding another bounty hunters because those idiots would do nothing for my use, but you on the other hand are the greatest hunter that I can count on."
"Touché." Ebony agreed. "So Amon, mind telling me why do you need me for?"
"You see, my prisoner has escaped from my island with the help of the mercenary I once hired who betrayed me."
"And who is this prisoner and the traitor you spoke of?"
"The prisoner is the girl name Alina." Amon said, showing the picture of the girl. The girl was around fourteen years old like Sofia's age that has light fair skin, blue eyes and long blue hair. She was dressed in her white ragged clothes with golden bracers, barefooted and has a azure blue circle amulet with golden winged part around her neck. "She has a amulet with magic that is far more powerful unlike any other. I need it to enhance my powers so I can conquer the whole world with dark magic."
"And the traitor?" Ebony asking about the traitor.
"Sloane. That wretched bodyguard I once hire her to watch the girl, but she turned against me and she and the girl escaped together from me." Amon said as he and ebony walked to the balcony of his fortress. "Those fools think they can escape me? I don't think so. The people from different kingdoms have no idea what the girl's powers is capable of."
"So what would you want me to do?"
"I want you to go find where the girl and the traitor is heading and when you do find the girl with the blue amulet, bring her to me alive and unspoiled." Amon said.
"And what of the traitor?"
"Destroy her at all costs." Amon said. "There will be no mercy on her."
"This would be the new hunting game for me." Ebony said before she evilly smirking. "I like it."
"That's why I like you. You strive to hunt down your prey and claim their lives and end it." Amon said as he placed his hand on Ebony's shoulder. "I knew you're the right hunter for the job."
"And rest assured, I'll do what needs done, even if it means I'll kill anyone who gets in my way." Ebony smiled as she turn and left for her biggest hunting game.
"Happy hunting!" Amon said, smirking.
It was now evening and somewhere at the far side of the Peppertree Forests in Dunwiddie is a two girls riding on the horseback.
The first one in front of the other is a young girl around fourteen years old that has light fair skin, blue eyes and long blue hair. She was dressed in her white ragged clothes, golden bracers and was barefooted. She also wears her azure blue circle amulet with golden winged part. The girl's name is Alina.
The second one in front of Alina is a tall woman holding the horses reins. The woman was very tall with fair skin, brown eyes and long dark brown hair. She dressed in her leather brown corset over her grey long sleeves with matching pants, brown belt that had the sheathed broadsword, brown bracers and her knee brown boots. She also has a blue cape over her back. The woman's name is Sloane.
A few months ago, Sloane once serve Lord Amon as his right hand bodyguard who's tasked is to get the girl Alina with her amulet. Amon believed that Alina's amulet is the key to his immortality and also harness it's great powers. Sloane on the other hand, could not bear to see Amon's true nature, so Sloane freed Alina and together they escaped from an island and they been running ever since.
"Where are we at now, Sloane?" Alina asked.
"It seems we're in the forests of some sort." Sloane answered.
"Is there a way we could find people around here?"
"That I'm not so sure." Sloane said as she looked around the forests for the people. "It's been a few days since we're escaped from the island. We couldn't get the chance to find help for shelters."
Alina then spotted a gateway that leads to the village of Dunwiddie. She tap on Sloane's shoulder to get her attention. "Hey, look over there." Alina pointed out.
"The village!" Sloane smiled in awe.
"Do you believe there could be people there?"
"Only one way to find out." Sloane and Alina went inside of the gateway to Dunwiddie Village. As they stepped through, Alina and Sloane sees people were walking and talking outside. Some shops were still before closing for a night.
"Looks like everyone was busy at their things before they closed their shops." Alina said.
"I believe so, but we need to find people who can point us directions." Sloane said before she spotted two people walking. A woman and the girl. "Let's go asked these people over there." The two went to meet the two people that is Mrs. Henshaw and her daughter Ruby. "Excuse me."
"Oh hello." Mrs. Henshaw greeted the two. "How we may help you two?"
"You see, we're came from our long way journey and we're looking for the place to stay for the night. Is there any place we could settle here?" Sloane asked.
"Of course we do. There's the castle not far from here is on that side." Mrs. Henshaw pointed out the castle.
"Who's live in the castle?" Alina asked.
"King Roland, his wife Queen Miranda and their children Princess Sofia, Prince James and Princess Amber." Ruby answered.
So that's the castle where we can find the royal family to help us?" Sloane asked.
"Yes, and may I asked what business you both have for the royals?" Mrs. Henshaw asked.
"Let's say we want to avoid some... obstacles that we have encountered and we're so tired from our journey." Sloane explained. "Anyway, thanks for directions."
"Thank you." Alina thanked both Ruby and Mrs. Henshaw as the two left.
"Good luck." Ruby waved, wishing them luck. "Nice people, aren't they Mom?"
"They sure are." Mrs. Henshaw nodded before she and Ruby headed back home.
Inside of the Enchancian Castle at the dining hall, Sofia, James, Amber and the family were having dinner and telling their stories.
"And that's how my father got jiggly wiggly pudding all over his face!" Roland and his family laughing together, after hearing his funny story.
"That's the funniest story I ever heard!" Sofia laughing.
"Yeah, way funny." James added.
"Yep. Tilly was the one that tells that to everyone in the castle and it never gets old." Roland said.
"I agreed." Miranda happily agreed.
"Me too." Amber added. As then, Baileywick came in to the family.
"Your Majesties, you have two visitors that wanted to see you. They at the throne room." Baileywick said.
"Visitors?" Sofia asked.
"Let's go see who it is." Roland said as the family went to the throne room. As they make it there, they see Sloane and Alina at the throne room. "Greetings ladies."
"Greetings Your Majesties." Sloane said as she and Alina bowed to the royal family. "My name is Sloane and this is Alina."
"What brings you two here to our castle?" Miranda asked.
"We came from our long journey to rest here. I'm afraid it's very dark outside and we have no place to go." Sloane said.
"There's no need to worry, Sloane." Roland said. "We have a guest room for the two of you."
"Your kind gesture is very appreciated."
Sofia noticed as she look at Alina's blue amulet around her neck. She then walked to Alina. "Your amulet. It's so beautiful."
"Thank you." Alina smiled a little.
"And I really love your hair color. It's very majestic." Amber said, admiring Alina's long blue hair. James rolled his eyes.
"I'm Alina." Alina introduced.
"I'm Sofia and this is James and Amber." Sofia introduced herself and her siblings who waved at Alina.
"In the meantime, Baileywick. Would you mind escort our guests to their guest room so they can rest tonight?" Roland said to Baileywick.
"Of course, your majesty." Baileywick then escorted the two to their guest room. "Right this way if you please."
"Once again, thank you for your kindness, your majesties." Sloane and Alina bowed as they headed to the room.
"I haven't seen Alina's amulet like that before. That's something new. I hope it was magical as mine." Sofia thought herself as she and others left for bed.
On the walls outside of the castle gates, Ebony was using her spyglass to see Sloane and Alina settled in the guest room inside of the castle.
"The two ladies are settling in the castle of the royal family." Ebony thought herself, smirking. "Til tomorrow, I will deliver Amon's prize and assassinate the bodyguard." Ebony then jumps off the wall and went to the darkest woods.
