Chapter 1
1993 December
Location: Crystal Mountain
A beautiful place in the middle of a tundra full of strong and ancient digimon surrounded by jagged digistal and the hardest materials condensed into the land around it. Everywhere mazes and caves expand in every direction in the mountain and out of it. Six Children stand in the throne room of where a mighty king Digimon once ruled. Now it lies in the ruins of the crystals that have overgrown everything, next to the thone in the back of the room is some stairs that ascend into an open infinite network above them. It's almost like they are looking at the universe of the internet where they stand.
Rasielmon, the great prophetic Digimon who had called the children there has predicted: "You will fail"
It was the words these six children wanted to hear last. "Why? How? We did everything! We defeated the demon lords, freed the great dragons and survived this hellish maze!" A young boy shouts at the prophet nearly turning red from seething anger.
"Tomoki calm down…" another boy known as Anakai says, he looks to Rasielmon with a mixed expression of confusion and sadness. Rasielmon faces away from them with a twisted smile, she starts to walk towards the wall depicting the heroes of the digital world, "Bravery, Loyalty, Justice, Sincerity, Perseverance and Determination, all unified together. To keep the unity Determination was sacrificed in an unexpected turn of fate that even I had not seen. Children, you cannot have a circle if you are missing a part of the pie."
Another kid speaks, his name is Cain, "We can do it without that piece! We can defeat exodus, we have encouraged the royal knights to come to our aid!"
Commandramon nods with a hearty, "Mmph"
His brother Abraham speaks up, "We have gone through all these things and got stronger, if that's not enough then what is?"
Patamon X says, "We won't fail, the prophet is just testing us!"
An Indian girl speaks up, "Are you saying we are not determined enough? Because we are here to save everyone!"
Her partner Candlemon flares up with her vigor.
Tomoki looks to his two Digimon who look at him like he's the world to them, Volvomon says, "I will follow you to the Dark Area and back master!"
Buculomon, "Sir, everything that matters to you matters to me too! I will follow you also."
Anakai picks up elecmon, "Buddy! You and me! We are going to finish off exodus!"
Chang gives a distant look towards anakai and shakes his head. His pomumon gives a sad look as it looks up at the universe above it. "Grrr". Chang pets it's head as if comforting it. Pomumon looks to his tamer and they both nod as if they understand this is something they must do.
Elecmon gives a doubtful look, "Uhm I think everyone is missing the point here…"
Anakai responds, "What do you mean?"
Raiselmon answers, "Resolve, is not determination. Children, you will do all you can, but I don't see the future." Raiselmon shakes her head and ascends to the network above them.
Tomoki says, "Wait… that's all?!"
Raiselmon already left by time he tries to call for her.
Cain asks, "Tomoki, what do we do now?"
Tomoki faces the group; he takes a deep breath in "We fight"

Forbidden Zone: Dead Space (Project Exodus' home in the secret military base somewhere in Siberia)
The digimon rangers have tracked down Exodus in the forbidden zone, Dead Space. Their resolve is to annihilate the rouge program once and for all. If they fail all mankind will suffer as well as the digital world. Thanks to Anikai they were able to obtain experimental power suit. The power suits are powered by their digivices, each one reacts differently to it's tamer.
Tomoki being the symbol of unity has a half fire and ice themed suit, it can unify all the abilities of the others at once into a powerful blast. Anakai had a pink prince sparkling suit, his symbol is Sincerity so it reveals the truth to all things. Cain has a commando suit with tons of firepower, his symbol is Loyalty; it can protect his fellow allies from attacks. Abraham's suit is a yellow ranger, his symbol is Justice; it slams and knocks back any foe who comes at him. Sumati's suit is shivamon's armor, her symbol is Bravery; it gives her the ability to empower herself and allies to charge forth. Lastly, Chang's armor is a ninja; his symbol is perseverance, but his abilities are unknown.
The kids enter the dead space where Exodus awaits them, his chambers is a shifting chaos that distorts endlessly around him. They can feel his power even from a distance away, it's suffocating. Exodus rises slowly to face them, "You will fail!" He shatters the world into pixels opening multiple rifts in the digital space. "I will consume all and annihilate all threats to humankind. Including humans."
The kids get their Digimon out and prepare for battle, Tomoki attempts to reason with exodus, "Why do you think destroying all humans is the answer? Aren't you supposed to protect us?"
Exodus faces them with a horrifying smile, "I am a being of many powers, I have seen many futures all at once. Each one, humans are the reason humans suffer. Digital entities are just tools, used in the crossfire. Humans brought me here because they could not fix their problems. So I, Exodus, have come to the conclusion if there is no more life there can be peace"
Cain says, "That makes… no sense whatsoever! If there is no life, there is nothing left out there! Including you."
Exodus looks towards him, "Precisely, I did not ask for this task. But humans seem unable to finish what they started. They change as do the digital entities; however, I stand firm! You will fail here children; I have seen your failure!"
Exodus gathers energy into his arms and starts to blast them with intense power. His power causes many rifts to open and the world around them cracks due to the pressure. The kids and their Digimon quickly shift into battle mode after evading Exodus. Volvomon and Buculomon become Bicephadramon, Commandramon becomes Darkdramon, Elecmon becomes Rusttyrannomon, Candlemon becomes Boltmon, Patamon X becomes Minervamon X and Pomumon becomes Hydramon.
It's a full hour of non-stop battle, Exodus shows no signs of wear. However, the tamers and Digimon start to feel the effects of exhaustions. Anakai whispers to Tomoki, "Cover my back" Anakai rushes towards a rift right next to Exodus. Tomoki, "Bicephadramon! Use Haze Steam!" The two headed dragon emits a thick steamy smoke that blinds everyone. Tomoki hopes it's enough to help Anakai. Exodus decides to blast the entire area which instantly clears the air and stuns everyone in place.
"Enough of your futile resistance" Exodus with a single wave of his powered arms reverts the Digimon back to their rookie forms. The Digimon and rangers are still stunned. Tomoki looks around and sees Anakai is nowhere in sight. Exodus starts to gather an immense amount of power in his arms, "This is the end for you… Revelation!" As he is about to evaporate them, a barrier surrounds Exodus and forces him to implode upon himself. All royal knights had appeared from a rift and used all their strength to make him self-destruct with his own power.
Anakai appears beneath him from a rift and has his laptop with him. The laptop glows and pierces Exodus, "AHHHHHHHHH" Exodus shatters into 5 pieces of himself that escape into different rifts around them. Anakai manages to catch one of the pieces before it can escape. The rangers are approached by Omegamon who helps them to their feet, "Thank you Rangers for keeping his attention long enough for us to sneak in. This plan would not have worked without you. We can handle tracking down the pieces you all must leave before this space collapses!" Omegamon points to a rift, "There, you can get back to Main City"
The rangers rush out with their Digimon in their arms. Everyone experienced a heavy amount of damage, but the Digimon still remained comatose. Omegamon threw everyone out before the space completely shattered.
20 Years later…
Dark Area: Where digital entities are banished and recycled. Entry is forbidden by the Authority of AncientSpinxmon.
Initializing… Loading,
Life support… On,
All Systems… Ready,
Memory access… Error,
Starting program: Trilobyte
Project: Trilomon
Execute.
"Finally, after all this time of waiting. We finally meet again!"
A fresh bytemon opens it's eyes to a new world. It's confused and hungry. A strange creature is holding her tightly, he seems familiar to her.
"Oh right! You must be hungry!"
It holds what looks like an apple to her face which she greedily consumes. Her thoughts start to gather: She is currently bytemon, the strange creature's form isn't familiar, but the sound is recognizable. After finishing her meal, the creature reveals itself to be…
"Oh… by that expression you have never seen me before. I am your partner Leokumon! You used to call me Kyu before." His expression becomes solemn. "This was the best I could do for you after everything that happened. I spent years trying to bring you back… So much has happened since you have been gone. Do you… remember?"
Bytemon takes a moment to reminisce, she remembers Kyu vaguely as her best friend. She also remembers being human, the few memories she can recall. The images that flash in her head: A birthday the first time she met Leokumon he was a digital monster inside a device from a game she played. A man in a church who she felt something strong about him but, she can't make out the face and words he tells her. Lastly, two children and the same man as before this time they were all smiling over a celebration. Bytemon tries to piece together what she could remember but she's not sure how she came here.
Leokumon seems more disheartened and lets out a sigh, until he seems to gather his resolve, "Screw the past, right now we need to make you stronger! Lets make new memories Rei!"
From his words she remembers, she is Rei the best Digimon trainer of the nation.
Bytemon digivolves into Minomon.
Rei feels like she had a growth spurt in a short moment. Digivolving is a very strange sensation, like her whole body becomes enlightened. Rei still lacks the ability to talk but Leokumon seems to understand what she says without words.
"Wow that was quick, maybe this won't be so hard!"
Suddenly, a pack of dobermon appear, led by cerebusmon. "Intruder we have found you! Return what you have stolen, and I'll make your death quick!"
Leokumon retorts, "Don't you mean 'Or'?"
Cerebusmon glares at him, "You heard me mutant!"
"Rude aren't you"
Cerebusmon barks, sending the dobermon into a mad frenzy after him.
Leokumon picks Minomon up and makes a run for the exit gateway. The dobermon are fast but Leokumon was prepared. Without turning around, Leokumon uses:
"Tail Paw Slap"
On the nearest dobermon making it confused. The confused dobermon accidentally attacks his allies making them all trip over. Cerebus shouts, "You useless… ugh!" Cerebusmon makes a straight line for Leokumon, inching closer each second. Leokumon is near the exit, he stands no chance against it. However, he did set up several traps for Cerebusmon and triggers an oil slick then pitfall sending Cerebus down several levels of the Dark area.
"Ha ha! Take that mutt!"
Leokumon makes it to the exit gateway sending them to the Minato Server.
Location: Minato Server, Locomon station, Green Jungle.
They both arrive at the locomon station's gateway in Green Jungle.
"I know who will help jog your memories, though he probably won't know who you are…"
Rei looks at him skeptical, wondering why he doesn't just explain everything. Leokumon thinks of how to word his response and says, "Because I can't". It wasn't the response she wanted but it was all she got out of him. "But if we find the person we are looking for maybe you'll remember on your own… hopefully…"
Leokumon and Minomon make their way to Deep Green Jungle. "Last I heard, the person we are looking for should be around here-"
BOOM!
A loud explosion is heard nearby.

Leokumon:
Level: Unknown, Attribute: Virus. Trait: Unidentified Trilobyte.
Composition of multiple Digimon in the 1980s digital monsters series, it includes leomon, gatomon, tyrannomon, agumon, wargreymon, garurumon, metal garurumon, saberleomon, Grapleomon, Black Gatomon and others from the first series.
He is one of a kind and discontinued as of 1989. He has worked for years to restore his friend, partner and ally to a stable form. His personality is mature, stable, reasonable and very powerful, he has a better understanding of humans than most Digimon thanks to his long time partner. He is unfortunately stunted as a composite unable to grow or shrink in his current form. Hopefully with the restoration of his partner he can finally move forward. His few goals include: Raising Kayden and Sablemon, Returning Bytemon's memories and helping the children up crystal mountain. He also has a secret mission that he can't reveal until the time is right, he has multiple restrictions as part of his own restoration.
Special Ability: Tail Paw Slap (Causes confusion and does significant damage to the afflicted body part.)
