Chapter 5

Location: Locomon Station- Green Jungle

Frankie, Milo, Yvette and the other Digimon make it to the station. They had to go the long way around which took them several hours of navigating pass swarms of digital zombies and jungle hazards. Frankie had a mild concussion that got better through out the journey there. Yvette managed to calm Frankie down by persuading him to trust in Hina that she'll watch over them. It was enough for the dazed and confused Frankie who was running at fumes. They were exhausted to the point they could barely even speak.

Leokumon and the others travel down the tunnel that leads straight to the locomon station just as he said. They hear a slight rumbling of a cave in behind them, Leokumon knew their time was short and they needed to board the next locomon soon. Hina notices Yvette sitting down on a bench resting and calls out to her.

"Yvette!"

Yvette sits up and waves them over, "ah good job, sestra! Everyone in good pieces?" Hina nods. Kayden looks over towards frankie who has a nice size bump on his head, then over to Milo and Yvette who look like they are about to drop right there.

"Man you guys look like donkeymon poop. What happened?"

Milo says, "The zombies are here, the jungle is slowly being consumed by the contamination. We barely made it here, the jungle is swarming with them now"

Frankie looks towards Kayden, "Right now, I still don't forgive you for earlier. But, we really have no choice but to move forward. Let's… move pass our differences and please… for the love of god let me make the decisions from here on out Kayden. We can't risk our lives like this. I nearly died to a juggernaut today."

Gatormon says, "But you didn't, and once again I won't let you die. I'll protect you!"

Frankie sighs, "The point is we shouldn't have been in that… oh nevermind here comes a grandlocomon."

Grandlocomon makes a stop announcing this is the last pick up in this area all other lines are closed except for Crystal Mountain. The emergency evacuation has already begun for all residents, the Digimon rangers are setting pick up points for those who can still make it at certain points in different areas.

Kayden visibly sneers, "Digimon Rangers… what a joke."

During the ride the kids and the Digimon all collapse from exhaustion, Rei and Leokumon remain awake and alert. Rei stares at Kayden, something feels familiar about him but she can't quite remember. She looks to Leokumon for answers but he remains silent and deep in thought. Rei pokes Leokumon, "Hmm?"

"Kayden, looks familiar. He looks like someone, but it's not coming together yet."

Leokumon smiles, "Good, I hope you do remember who he is. Before you left, I promised you I would protect him until you came back."

Rei asks, "Why?"

"Because he is someone important to you and me, I hope you remember him… You really liked him before, and he wasn't always like that. When he was smaller the rookie would go out with the biggest smile and both of you would play together a lot. Kayden used to be a sweet rookie who liked to run around and explore everything. But when you left everything fell apart around him he became lonely and isolated. He couldn't cry, he couldn't smile, he couldn't feel anything. Sort of like a hollow statue. His heart lost the fire to live, and he ran away from home. You made me promise to watch over him, so I did and still do. You told me that everyone has good days and bad days, when we have bad days we should make twice as many good days to make up for it. So I gave him that partner because I only two really bad days. One is when my body shattered and the other is when you didn't wake up"

Leokumon pauses for a bit and takes out a broken device.

"I had been waiting a long time for this day, this is where it all started for me. Where I was born and where you took care of me. I hope this helps you remember me Rei."

Rei takes a look at the device, she recognizes it as Kyu's device. She remembers the endless nights of battles, cleaning poop and feeding him. Her mother gave this to her, 'I wonder where she is now?'

"We should also get some rest while we can, it's going to be a long walk up the mountain."

In another seat out of ear shot of Rei and Leokumon's conversation. Kayden and Sablemon tend to their own wounds.

"Hey boss, do you think we are too im-pul-sive?"

Kayden looks surprised, "What do you mean? Are you letting Frankie get to you? I wouldn't worry about him, he's a worrywart!"

"Earlier when you were knocked out, trilomon got in the way and was taking a beating for us. I felt really bad… Like, it hurt right here. I didn't like it boss. And then BanchoMamemon said some stuff and it makes my head parts think" Sablemon twitches his tail as he says this.

Kayden, "Oh… yea… I think that's guilt. Uhm… Everyone's alive!"

"Are we the bad guys boss? I feel like I'm hurting others even though I'm trying not to boss… I don't wanna be a bully. I'm not a bad guy, it just ended up in my bag you know" Sablemon starts to tear up.

"Don't cry!" Kayden hugs Sablemon and thinks for a bit, "I.. I think you are right, but this is how we always lived! You can't just tell a Garurumon to change his stripes like that"

"But Garurumon can evolve boss, he can grow into something better"

Kayden huffs, "Well yea! So can we! We are better than a stupid garurumon or whatever he can become. We got each other, and that's all we need!"

"But boss, without leokumon or Rei I- I don't think I could have protected you alone. Hina just stood there reading a book and Bugsy just cried the whole time… They didn't even try to help!"

"Well! Well…" Kayden goes silent. "You are all I have, Sablemon. What else can I do? They'll just abandon us sooner or later."

Sablemon frowns.

Milo walks over, "I won't abandon you… because you didn't abandon me Kayden. I know Frankie said some harsh words but, he's just worried. I was really worried about you."

Coilymon speaks up, "Ally. Together."

Hina chimes in behind them, "I didn't do anything because if Banchomamemon wanted to kill us he would have done it. I can't speak for Bugsy, but we are all in the same train aren't we?"

Sealomon nods, "Safety in numbers am I right?"

Yvette speaks, "In Russia, when I used to be what you call… urchin. Our motto: Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend. Then we may stab each other in back, but we lived to see next day. So that's alright."

Donnimon just yawns and goes back to sleep with Gatormon. Elmurtemon is a blanket for both Frankie and Bugsy who are knocked out in the back part of the train.

Kayden coyly smiles and mutters, "Thanks guys…"

The rest of the train ride is silent, Milo chooses to sit next to Kayden with Coilymon wrapped around him like a scarf. They all get as much rest as they can before they arrive at Crystal mountain.

Meanwhile, In the skies over Green Jungle.

CrysPalesdramon scouts out the new infected zone for survivors. He spots what looks like a large crater where the jungle gateway used to be. He clears the area with a single breath of ice, he finds remains of an incendiary grenade canister. On it says, "If found please return to Sablemon, If this weapon was used against you please don't return to Sablemon." He spots old tracks made by children.

He follows them around to the mamemon bunker. He knocks on it.

"Yea? Who is it?" Says a mamemon bouncer.

"Cryspaledramon, I come searching for survivors and children. You need to evacuate the area immediately"

"We ain't leaving" Mamemon says stubbornly.

"Very well, have you seen the children that walked through here?"

"Was he a rude deliquent, with a squirrel, a tiny leomon and some sort of crabmon?"

"Uhm, I'm looking for the delinquent the others I don't care"

"Never heard of them" Mamemon slams the door shut.

Cryspaledramon knocks the door down, "How rude, now that we are face to face. Tell me where they went."

"Over my dead body" Scoffs the mamemon. The mamemon start to gather and grab their weapons.

"With pleasure." Cryspaledramon freezes multiple mamemon in their places and shatters them with his tail. This time in a stern calm voice, "Tell me where they went"

Banchomamemon approaches, "what do we have here?"

Queenmamemon stops him and gives him a worried glance. She nods.

Banchomamemon starts to speak up, but his 'gal' puts her hand on his cap. "We got to protect those kids, What if-"

Queenmamemon places her hand on him as if she says believe in the system.

"Alright…"

He faces Cryspalesdramon, "They went to… They went… Go to hell!" Banchomamemon puts up a fight but Cryspaledramon defeats him and freezes him.

"How foolish"

Queenmamemon walks in front of Banchomamemon to stop Cryspaledramon from finishing him off. She draws a mountain and points in the direction of the locomon station.

"Hmm there is only one mountain area close to here and that is crystal mountain correct? If you are lying I will come back here and crush you all" Cryspalesdramon flies away.

"Why…" Banchomamemon utters.

Queenmamemon hugs him as he fades away to nothing.

Digimon Entry- Coilymon

Level: Rookie, Type: Data, Attribute: Plant

Special ability: Plant Manipulation.

Few Digimon are unable to make words and Coilymon is one of them. Around the digital world it is a nuisance causing massive amounts of brambles, weeds and dandelions to grow uncontrollably. It makes living in a Forest impossible because of the density and speed in which it grows trees. That said, it can communicate with plants, seeds, nuts and fruit. It is also used to communicate between plant Digimon in forest that could be on the opposite of the world or right next to each other. Coilymon doesn't feel pain, however it does hear the cries of vegetation when they are eaten. Sometimes it cries with them. Coilymon is also one of the best poker players around the digital world due to it's abilities, never play games with Coilymon because you will probably lose. Also if you are a fly type Digimon be aware it is also a venus flytrap, it has been known to accidentally close it's head on it's tamer because they were mistaken for food.
