Chapter 11

Badgermon digivolves into DarkGulomon

Coildramon slinks away and puts Milo above the pit, "Danger."

Coildramon uses a tendril to close the pit with him in it. DarkGulomon attempts to lash out the pit after him but Coilydramon uses most of his tendrils to pull him back in. The pit closes slowly, Coilydramon manages to hold him back long enough to lock him back in the pit. DarkGulomon can be heard trying to break out and rip the walls apart.

Lilithmon slowly claps, she gets up and starts to walk towards them "Oh my… Good job locking him away. Although, I don't know how long it will hold him. So, what's the next part of your plan hmm? You are outnumbered and outpowered"

They screaming and ripping start to get louder, DarkGulomon can be heard attempting to break out of the pit. LadyDevimon surround him on all sides, Coilydramon's tendrils are starting to wither weaken, "Tired." Milo sees a way out on the side of the room, it looks like a laundry shoot that leads down. Milo asks, "Coilydramon can you give it one last burst, follow my lead."

Coilydramon uses, "Hydra's Dream"

A burst of green vines and toxic fumes spread throughout the room. It blinds everyone, Milo makes a run for Kayden and drags him to the shoot. Coilydramon reverts to Coilymon and follows them both down.

A moment later DarkGulomon breaks out of the pit and rips through the doors out into the mansion where he causes untold damage to the delicate objects around. Bakemon are heard screaming in terror, "Oh great demon king! Why?!". DarkGulomon eventually finds his way down to the basement and hunts down his targets.

Earlier…

Rei and Leokumon were dragged from the dining room by the authorities in the Dark Area. Soon they are face to face with the mighty AncientSpinxmon deep inside the basement. They are surrounded by an audience of different residents of the Dark Area sitting in their places. On the side they see a jury full of DemiDevimon.

Rei thinks, 'Oh this doesn't even hide how rigged this court is!'

Leokumon mutters to her, "This is why I hate the Dark Area, they discriminate against anything that doesn't belong. They don't even know us."

AncientSpinxmon slams his paws down like a hammer, "The court is in order. You will be judged by our peers in the state of law how does the jury plead?"

The jury, "GUILTY!"

Leokumon shouts, "But we didn't even have the chance to-"

AncientSpinxmon shouts, "SILENCE!" stomping his foot down. "Warden read the charges and their sentencing."

"With pleasure" Cerebusmon steps up and faces Leokumon, "Leokumon you are sentenced with the crimes is assault against an officer, burglary of the first, second and third degree, indiscriminate digicide, digislaughter, jaywalking and… simply being alive. You are sentenced to death by deletion pit. Any last words?"

Leokumon, "Bite me doggiemon."

Cerebusmon starts reading the chargest for Rei, "You crabmon, you are also sentenced to deletion pit for being rotten and expired. Any last words?"

Rei opens her mouth but nothing comes out but a small squeak. She thinks, 'This is just how I am, why do you judge me like this.' Rei would frown if she could, 'is this what this world is like leokumon?'

Leokumon responds, "It's a place full of both the good and the bad, we are just in one of those bad places"

AncientSpinxmon addresses the court, "The sentence has been read, court is adjorn. Warden escort them to the executioner."

Both Leokumon and Rei are pulled away, Leokumon shouts, "This isn't right and you know it! What have we done to you?! This whole trial is unfair, at least give us a fighting chance!"

AncientSpinxmon seems to consider his words, "So you are willing to fight for your right to live hmm?"

The warden stops in his tracks, "You can't be serious these two have broken so many laws! They must be deleted!"

"Silence warden." He looks towards the two Digimon that are chained up. "I won't make it fair in the slightest, and you will probably suffer a worse fate than being deleted. Are you sure you are up for this?"

Rei nods vigorously and Leokumon shouts, "Of course! Anything is better than deletion!"

"Very well, warden undo their constraints."

Cerebusmon grumbles in discontent, "I'll find you and make sure you suffer tenfold of the humiliation you gave me!"

They are both released from chains, "You have 10 minutes to run before I release what was brought from that world. If you find your way out of the maze I will consider letting you go." AncientSpinxmon slams his paw again, this time a black hole swallows them both up and they drop down somewhere in the Dark Area maze. Behind them are zombies of different kinds ready to hunt them down and feast upon their data.

Leokumon says, "We need to get going fast!"

Rei nods.

Behind them they hear Cerebusmon, "Not so fast, did you really think I'd let you go without a fight. Heh heh." Three dobermon show up with him.

Leokumon exclaims, "Didn't your boss give us 10 minutes to run?"

Cerebusmon states, "He said he'll give you time to run from them, not me. Come on boys!" The dobermon are released on them.

Leokumon grabs Rei, "RUN!"

They both make a run for it, one of the dobermon charges at them but Leokumon gives him a slap causing the dobermon to knock down the other dobermon.

"What are you doing you idiots, get up and get them!" Cerebus shouts.

Both Rei and Leokumon run in random directions, the maze is disorienting and unkempt. Traps lie everywhere as they barely evade spike falls and sticky traps. Luckily Leokumon has a keen instinct for sensing danger due to his experiences over the years. However Rei is not. She struggles to keep up with with him. "Come on Rei, we got to keep going."

Rei trips over her own two feet with Leokumon's yanking. 'Leokumon… why do you do so much for me? Are partners worth it?'

Leokumon says, "Of course! I'd do anything for you Rei! Now get back up. I'll… I'll carry you as far as we can go!"

Leokumon attempts to carry Rei but she's too heavy in her rookie form and causes him to fall over. "I'm not leaving you Rei, if we can't run then I will fight for us both. If I fall… You have to keep going got that?"

Rei looks at leokumon.

"Finally stopped running huh?" Cerebusmon growls. The dobermon appear behind him with hungry expressions in their eyes.

"Come on doggiemon! It's you and me!" Leokumon gets in a battle stance.

A memory flashes over Rei, it's a game store holding the first ever Digimon national championship. Her rival was that guy she saw in her memories, but younger. "Prepare to lose peasant"

Cerebus at the same time, "Prepare to lose digiscum"

Rei gets up like she did all those years ago, she feels the battle spirit take over her. She remembers that day clearly now, she took her digivice and let out a battle cry. 'Lets do this!'

Cerebusmon lunges at Leokumon who fends him off while the dobermon surround Rei who breaks her tail off and uses it to stab at them. The fight is short, but they don't stop. Rei manages to throw a dobermon into the spike pit before she is overwhelmed by the other two. Leokumon kicks them off her but Cerebusmon tackles him to the ground and sends a hell fire his way.

"Gah!" Leokumon goes down, but he gets back up shrugging off the pain, "Nothing hurts more than knowing what my partner's been through! This is nothing!"

In the background the sound of a gong plays, Cerebusmon smiles, "You are out of time, digi scum!" Cerebusmon lunges towards leokumon but Rei tackles him down with the two dobermon on her back. Leokumon does his best to fight them off and manages to kill one of the dobermon. It doesn't take long until some feral zombies come around the corner and bite at them. Leokumon tosses the other dobermon as bait and Cerebusmon backs away disappearing into the shadows.

Rei is badly injured and it doesn't take long for the zombies to finish the dobermon and switch their focus to him. "Rei… I know it looks bad. But… I'll fight to the end for you. So don't give up here."

She remembers saying those exact words during their fight at that championship to Kyu, "I know it looks bad, but believe in me! We will fight to the end."

Rei gets up, even more fired up than before a voice inside her says, "Consume their data" she asks 'how?'

Rei runs at the zombies and bites the ferals back, their data is disgusting but she is absorbing a good amount of it. Leokumon backs her up and absorbs as much data as he can. They both fend off the zombies for now. Behind them Cerebusmon appears with more backup than before, "Now, I know you have to be deleted. Go! Rip them apart!"

Leokumon and Rei fight back-to-back until they are surrounded and injured, Cerebus approaches them laughs. "Who has the last laugh now digiscum?"

Rei has another memory, the first time Kyu digivolved during the match somehow. In the worst times, as long as they remained determined they will win. The voice inside tells her, 'Do it, Digivolve'.

Both Rei and Leokumon are consumed by light.

"What? This can't be right? Those things can't digivolve right?" Cerebusmon exclaims.

Trilomon Digivolve into… Gigatrilomon

Leokumon Digivolve into… Cyberneomon

Cyberneomon says, "of course we can, we want to live!"

Gigatrilomon, "Rawr!"

Cerebusmon shouts, "KILL THEM, RIP THEM APART!"

All the Digimon back fight both Gigatrilomon and Cyberneomon who expertly start tossing them and defeating them one by one. Eventually Cerebusmon is the last one left, it charges at them both which Gigatrilomon and Cyberneomon together execute him.

"Just like old days huh?" Cyberneomon smiles.

'When did we fight hordes of Digimon back to back?' Rei asks.

"I guess you don't remember everything" Cyberneomon shrugs. "lets get going, I can hear juggernauts getting close." Cyberneomon uses his new ability to scan for the exit until he notices three more entities that aren't zombies in the maze. "I see something 2 kids and a Digimon, I think that's Milo and Kayden. The zombies are not that far we need to run"

Special Ability: ?

Much is unknown about this Digimon, it is said to have come from an alternate dystopian universe to warn of great dangers to come. It can scan for locations and get layouts of an area. It is incredibly fast and strong. It's blades are known to slice through even the thickest of armors. As far as we know Leokumon is the only one who can become such a Digimon. It seems to also be capable of dodging bullets in slow motion.
