Book 1 realizing
Chapter 1 First Day
Sunlight shines through a set of partially closed blinds onto a slightly cluttered bedroom as a pale individual looks himself up and down in a full body mirror. This is Zaiko. He's 14 years old and has sky blue eyes with short brown hair pulled behind his ears. He wore a black hoodie over a red shirt with red Levi's and black Nikes. He looked himself up and down before grinning.
"Light skin or not, I'm still me." He said grinning.
"Zaiko!" He heard his mother call from downstairs. He brushed himself off and walked towards the door. As he twisted the knob he looked back at his mirror one last time and smirked. Pushing the door open he stepped into the hallway
. . .
His room was the furthest down the hall with the bathroom being across from his. He walked past his brother's room and stopped at the door closest to the stairs. He put his ear to the door and listened. Nothing. It was silent.
"Guess Dad must be at the forge." he thought. He walked down the stairs and once at the bottom a plate of bacon and eggs floated over to him.
"Thanks Mom!" He called grabbing the plate as he turned the corner. Making his way to the kitchen he saw his brother mako already sitting at the table happily munching on his food. This made Zaiko smile as he sat at the table across from his brother. Mako had bronze skin and gray eyes like his mother. His gray hair slid down to his shoulder and a bang sported his forehead. Just as Zaiko stuck his fork into his eggs, Mako's head shot up and turned towards the clock on the microwave.
"Dude we're gonna be late!" cried his brother, jumping from his seat at the table.
"Come on!" said Mako, already pushing towards the door. Zaiko let out a long sigh as he pushed away from the table and stood. Stretching, he then turned towards the door to join his brother who was hastily stuffing a bunch of books and notebooks into a black backpack. On their way out their mother called from the kitchen.
"Have a good day." As the door closed behind him he heard her finish by saying
"No fighting!"
Once outside the two siblings made their way to the school. It wouldn't take long considering the school was only seven blocks from their house. Along the way they saw many different parents sending their children off with smiles on their faces.
Zaiko sighed. "Time to go to Twin Dragon High School." Zaiko complained. T.C.D high school is a school for benders and non-benders. The school believes that benders and non-benders have no differences hence the twin in the name. Once they were a block away, the school came into view. A black brick, 6 story building with a black iron gate and an iron bar fence surrounding it.
Zaiko shook his head. "What the heck is this? a prison?!" Zaiko complained.
Mako glanced at his brother and sighed. "Stop your griping Zaiko."
Walking through the seemingly foreboding iron gates, the two brothers found themselves in a large open courtyard. The ground was pretty much all concrete all the way up until the black brick exterior of the school. Students milled around, here and there all in excited conversations for the new school year. Although it seemed more or less normal, Zaiko couldn't help but notice the non-benders had completely isolated themselves from everyone else. Although, he could easily see why. The lively behavior seemed to only be shared between the benders in the school. Though the school prides itself on it's equality between benders and non-benders, it's not able to completely eradicate all the prejudice that's naturally spurred up between high schoolers.
The earth benders were playing catch with boulders, which seemed to get bigger and bigger with exchange. The firebenders were well… firebenders. Loud and aggressive and shoving each other around like a bunch of duffases. The waterbenders were gossiping about the firebenders, and the air benders, not surprising at all, were quiet and reserved. Zaiko rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"So this is our new school, huh?!" Zaiko started feeling a mixture of excitement and dread. Mako took a deep breath.
"Zaiko…" he started, but he didn't seem to hear him.
"All these benders use their bending without any kind of restraint." Mako turned and locked eyes with him. After a couple seconds of looking at him, Zaiko felt his sky blue eyes get caught in a storm. He sighed through his nose. "Fine."
Shortly after, a stocky man with sunglasses and a mean expression and a tall thin woman with long wavy gray hair and storm cloud colored eyes stepped from the front doors. The siblings turned to face them. All eyes turned towards the duo in expectant silence.
"All benders with me!" The man called. "Non-benders with me!" The woman commanded after. The benders lined up in front of the buff man and the non benders formed a line in front of the woman. First the non-benders were led inside through the doors. Then the rest of the students were herded inside. Zaiko turned to Mako.
"Remember. We're here to learn among benders and non benders, keep a low profile." Mako snickered.
"We won't keep low for very long," he said.
"W-what do you mean?" Zaiko asked nervously.
"All classes are to demonstrate their bending abilities!" Mako said, pumping his fist in the air as he read off of a brightly colored pamphlet.
"Where did you get that?!" Zaiko asked, glancing around for where they might be handing out that idealistic bullshit.
"Don't worry about it," Mako said. "Let's just hurry and go inside."
. . .
Inside was a mess. Children smashed together like waves in a stormy sea. Chaos manifested in the mess of new students. It wouldn't be long before the arguments started. Non-benders again found themselves isolated from benders and after 10 minutes of bumping and stepping on other people's feet, then having your feet stepped on. Followed by a disgruntled complaint and maybe a shove here and there. The non-benders were led away from the chaotic mob first through a separate set of double doors to the right. Then only the benders remained. The gruff man from before who had yet to remove his sunglasses was met with another instructor who then introduced himself as Mr. Kalanski. The two instructors herded the benders down a dimly lit corridor that opened into a colossal gymnasium.
"Weird, for them to talk about equality between benders and non benders. Where's that equality now?" thought Zaiko as he noticed a massive white sign on the wall that said Capacity 950 in all caps in big black letters. Mako glanced around.
"Dang man. there's only about 550 benders,"
"Not many benders," Zaiko noticed, raising an eyebrow. Before he could continue a loud female voice gargled from a P.A system breaking off their conversation.
"Welcome to Twin Crimson Dragon Highschool." she said in a much too excited tone for someone to be addressing a bunch of rowdy high schoolers. "I'll be brief and assign your classrooms to you now." Mako furrowed his eyebrows.
"Not much of an announcement…"
Still the bubbly lady continued on.
"All firebenders to rooms 106 through 112." she stated as she read off a sheet of paper.
"Earthbenders rooms 113-119."
"Airbenders rooms 120-126."
"And lastly waterbenders rooms 127-133." The lady paused and smiled after finishing. She was much too young to be a teacher. She was fit and had fluffy blonde hair which reflected like fire under the gymnasium's bright halogen lights. She wore a strikingly electric blue dress that made impossible to deny the rich person aura that was just oozing off of her.
"You will receive your class slips at the exits." Zaiko turned to his right and 20 feet away he saw the firebenders receiving papers from 2 instructors. One of them was the gruff man who had led them in. The other was a short woman with short black hair and red hair with a square face and slightly mischievous smile. Zaiko hoped he'd be in her class. She looked like someone who'd let him get away with knocking a few people's lights out. Zaiko turned to his brother and sighed.
"Well here it is. Wish me luck." Mako smirked, then lightly punched him on the shoulder before smiling mischievously.
"Do we even need luck?" Zaiko studied a passing group of firebenders and felt a grin spread on his face. A bunch of arrogant hot headed teens with something to prove? Something told him that this was gonna be a long year. He watched the firebenders as they prepared to leave the gym and sighed.
"We might this time." He muttered then went to receive his slip.
The person who built the school had weird design plans, well at least to Zaiko. You see the gym was basically the entrance to the bending side. 4 huge hallways branched out from it, 1 for each corner. In the corridor for firebenders (top left corridor) there were 6 classrooms and that was really weird to Zaiko. As Mako said there were at most 550 benders and judging by the huge horde of scrambling firebenders; himself included there were at least 125 of them. He walked past room 112. Completely empty. He studied the inside. 25 desks
"Pretty decent" he thought. He looked down at his slip. Zaiko lunar-108 it read. He kept walking. 110, 109, 108. It was in the middle of the hall. He glanced in and just as he thought once he took his seat the class would be completely filled. The lighting in the room was low and the desks were black. The seats were set in rows of 5 across and down and the only open seat was right in the middle of the class. He sighed as he walked into the room making sure he avoided eye contact with anyone as he made his way to his seat. There was a thick tension in the air. It felt like the world's biggest boa constrictor had wrapped around his lungs. Right before he could take his seat a boy with short blonde hair and amber eyes pointed back at the door.
"Sign in!" He told him. it sounded more like an order. Zaiko shrugged his shoulders and sighed walking back to the door. Now slightly annoyed. To the right of the door a clipboard huge briskly on a nail. Zaiko took a pen out of his back pocket and quickly but swiftly wrote his name on the last line. He then took his seat. Not too long after a man rose from flames from behind the teacher desk in the front of the class. He had tan skin and brown eyes. His hair was short and stopped at his shoulders. He wore a plaid shirt with a small silver cross necklace and black levis
"I am Mr. Stones!" His voice boomed. "I will be your teacher." He said sternly.
"Heh, what a fiery entrance Mr Stones." Zaiko smirked. Mr Stones walked to the clipboard and ran his finger down each name.
"Zaiko? Is it?" His eyes sharpen. "Flattery will get you nowhere."
Zaiko flinched. "M-my apologies sir." Mr Stones then walked back to his desk and stood in front.
"Well then as I was saying." He started.
"Everyone stand up?"
"For what?" Zaiko heard some kid behind him ask.
"Just stand up!" Mr Stones ordered. Now clearly irritated. The kids did as they were told.
"Every beginning of class you are to pay your respects to Avatar Zuma," he told them. Zaiko closed his eyes. While he kept his eyes closed he kept feeling a small pinch in the back of head. Almost like something was trying to pull his thoughts away. The temperature in the room seemed to drop too. Maybe 10 degrees? No one else seemed to notice though.
"Alright class." Mr Stones said pulling Zaiko back to reality.
"Take your seats; time for rules and regulations."
Zaiko sighed through his nose and took his seat. While sitting he looked around at his peers trying to get a feel of his classmates. One In particular caught his eye. A girl sitting in the front left corner of the class. She had caramel skin and long black hair that draped to the middle of her back. Her eyes were emerald with a bang covering her left and wore a red crop top with black leggings. His blue eyes began to shake.
She must have felt him gazing because she turned to face him. She waved and turned back around. Zaiko caught a glimpse of her name on her slip sitting on her desk. Terri-ann Woodfel-1-
"ZAIKO!" Stone's voice boomed again, breaking Zaikos' train of thought. He had completely forgotten Mr stones were even talking.
"I have no time for slackers or class clowns." He said sternly, tapping his finger on his desk. He looked every student in the eyes.
"If you have a problem, the door is right there!" He told them pointing at the door to express his point. Zaiko brushed his hair behind his ear and closed his eyes.
"If he's going to be like this the whole day I'm not going to make it." He thought.
The airbender corridor was adjacent to the firebenders so Mako had some relief. Although he was disappointed. There seemed to be way less airbenders than everyone. Out of the 6 classrooms the kids seemed to filter into the rooms 120, 121, 122 and 123; leaving 124 and 125 seemingly empty. He cautiously looked down at his slip, making the bang on his forehead bounce. Mako Kisame-123. It was the last classroom on the right adjacent from 125.
The room was bright. He had to squint just to keep from catching a headache. Once his eyes adjusted he noticed the room was huge. 25 mats laid out in a circle around the classroom but as Mako looked around he noticed there were only about 11 maybe 13 people there; and that included himself.
"Half a class on the first day is not a good start." he thought as he sat on the farthest mat from the door.
"Hello children,'' a familiar woman's voice said from above. He looked up and was shocked to see his mother floating down from the ceiling. Her bronze skin gleamed in the light and her gray eyes studied the kids with mystery. Her gray hair curled to her shoulders and she wore a gray suit and dress pants. Mako's first thought. When did she have time to change. Earlier she was wearing a navy blue jumpsuit, but now she was sporting a gray dress suit as if it was second nature.
This led him to his second question. How long has she been there? It had only been what? Two hours? His last question. How did she get past the mob of children and make it to class before him? It took everyone 10 mins just to separate again. He would never know the answer to any of these and he knew his mom would never tell either. As she touched the ground her eyes fell on Mako. He jumped. She winked and put her finger over her lip silently telling him not to say anything. She smiled warmly.
"Mom's the teacher.. I guess I can't complain,'' Mako thought.
"My name is Ms Kisama." She spoke. Mako froze. He took his slip and Making sure no one saw the last name on his slip, put it in his pocket. She looked at each student in the room.
"Before we start class, let's pay our respects to avatar Zuma.'' she said. The class closed their eyes and it became dead silent.
"So how about we introduce ourselves,'' a mysterious person said, breaking the silence that had fallen upon the class and startling everyone.
"That sounds like a great idea." Ms. Kimase said.
"Why don't you go first? since you gave the idea." She said this with a smile but mako knew there was a sly smirk hidden behind it.
"Fine," the boy huffed.
"My name is Imura Mirozaki."
"Excellent next." For the rest of the introduction Mako barely paid attention. He even went as far as to lie about his last name claiming it was Lunar the same as his brother.
He didn't want to ruin their mothers secret and he didn't want people to think That she would show favoritism. Though he knew that would never happen. His mother didn't seem to mind this at all. In fact she chuckled at his introduction replying with
"Nice to meet you Mako Lunar." After introductions he studied his peers and groaned. That Imura guy rubs me the wrong way mako said to himself. Mako dropped his head and let his hair fall over his eyes.
This is gonna be a long day, he thought to himself.
…
The two siblings met up again at lunch. At the end of each corridor there was a set of stairs they went up and down. Following the stairs up would lead you to the cafeteria. Down the stairs…well nobody knew yet. The lunch room was about the same size as the gym they were taken to earlier in the morning. Tables were scattered all around but there were banners for each element on each wall. Fire was on east, air on the west, water on the south and earth on the north. Each area had its own respective entrance. Mako walked in from the west entrance and saw his brother leaning on the wall to the right causing him to jump.
"W-why haven't you gotten your lunch yet?" Mako asked him, still catching his breath. Zaiko looked at him and then pointed at the elemental banners around the room
"They want us to sit with our respected element huh? Mako observed. studying the filling cafeteria, Zaiko nodded.
"I'm guessing you're feeling rebellious?,'' Mako asked. Zaiko grinned and Mako sighed.
"Well, let's get lunch!" Zaiko declared. They joined the huge cluster of kids that started to form 4 lines in between the fire and water banners where the serving stations were located.
"They even serve us like that", Zaiko complained. He had a look of complete disgust on his face. Mako chuckled.
"Oh shut up I'll get my lunch and then join you." he told him. Once they both got their lunch just as Mako said he came and sat with him. Zaiko had looked at his food and tossed it into a trash can while looking for a table. He wasn't interested in prison food.
They had found a lone table right in the middle of the lunch room. Of course being the only two sitting alone they were receiving a mixture of shock and dirty looks. The siblings didn't seem to notice. As they sat together, Zaiko noticed terri-ann walking pass. Her hair swayed with her hips as she walked and her emerald eyes glistened in the light so beautifully he swore he was looking at an actual gem.
He watched her in awe before turning around and noticing the look on his brother's face. Zaiko blushed. his cheeks bright and hot with embarrassment
"W-why are you looking at me like that?'' he asked. Stumbling over his words. Mako almost laughed
"Don't play stupid with me if you like her, you like her." he said with a shrug. Zaiko rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Leave it to you to say something like that," he laughed. "
Yep, I'm gonna do that." He said it like it should've been obvious.
"Besides, we only have each other in the end." Zaiko paused to consider what his brother said.
"Yea true" he finally answered as they raised their hands into a fist bump.
…
After the bell rang for lunch to end everyone left in a hurry, flooding back down the exits like a dam leak. Zaiko on the other hand had already made himself a plan. He was gonna do it. He was gonna talk to terri-ann. He scanned the remaining people and prayed she didn't leave yet.
"Don't be gone don't be gone" he said frantically looking through the last couple of kids. Then just as he prayed he spotted her…..walking towards..HIM. his face grew hot as he met her halfway. What would he say. he hadn't thought that far ahead.
"Um…hi Terri-ann." he said. He tried to at least sound confident but it came out like a squeak.
"Hi Zaiko,'' she responded with a warm smile. Zaiko was never good when it came to talking to females, he froze trying to think of what to say next. Sweat started to form on his forehead, his lips moved to form words but nothing came out. He unfroze when she laughed. She asked him for a piece of paper. He was confused but reluctantly took out a folded piece of paper out his front right pocket (what else was in his pockets) and handed it to her. She quickly wrote something on it and handed it to him. Zaiko looked at it faster than he intended to. He looked down and his eyes became the size of dimes when he saw it was her number. Has someone really heard his prayer? He was still getting over the shock when he finally swallowed and put the paper in his pocket. She winked and a small smile played on her lips.
"Let's hang out after school," she said as she walked past him. Her hair just like before swaying with her hips in rhythmic harmony.
Less than a minute later, the boy from Zaikos first hour (Mr order barker) walked up to him looking as if he had just punched his little brother. He grabbed Zaiko by his shirt collar.
"Do you know who I am ?'' he growled. Yea someone who's gonna get if you don't let me go Zaiko thought but instead he stayed quiet.
"You really don't know who I am. The boy smirked.
"I'm Yaiko Mura of the Mura clan and I'm terri-ann's boyfriend!"
Now laughing didn't really help the situation, but Zaiko couldn't help it, the guy was funny. This guy? A clan? Next he'll tell him to call him young master.
"You won't be laughing after this." The look in yaiko's eyes became deadly serious.
"you me agni kai after school don't chicken out" Yaiko growled. He let go of his shirt, glared at him with anger one more time and then left. The only one who now remained in the lunchroom was Zaiko. He brushed his shirt off and looked at the floor.
"Man what drag" he sighed pulling out his phone. He dialed a number and called it. It rang for 4 seconds and then a voice on the other side said "hello."
"Yeah mako, someone wants to fight already,'' Zaiko told him, then he filled him in.
. . .
Nothing ever stays quiet in highschool. news about Zaiko vs Yaiko spread across the benders like wildfire. Two hours before the end of the day and whole aura of the school had changed. It was like a shaken soda bottle waiting to be opened. When news got back to Terri-ann… let's just say run. She was in the gym in between the fire bender corridor and the water benders. She was accompanied by her friend Toya, a water bender and friend since middle school. Toya was a milk chocolate colored skin girl with short straight black hair. She wore small hoop earrings and way too much lip gloss. She chose a black tank top and pink leggings for her outfit. It was Toya who informed Terri-ann of the rumors that had found it's way to her class. You see all she knew was two fire benders were supposed to fight after school. No one knew the exact details but one fact never changed no matter the story. Yaiko Mura was one of the fighters. Terri-ann slammed Yaiko's number into her phone and waited. After a long dramatic silence Yaiko spoke on the other end.
"Hello?"
Terri-ann had to grit her teeth. "Why are you starting fights for no reason?" Her voice began to rise. "We haven't even been in school that long!" Terri-ann was pissed. Ignoring the clear anger in her voice. He responded with his own.
"Why does that guy have your number!" He demanded to know. Terri-ann clenched her fist. She didn't have time for this shit.
"Because I get a good vibe from him, besides you're acting like I'm not a loyal woman. So why are you so angry?" She waited for his response.
"Are you trying to tell me I have no reason to be angry!?'' Yaiko began to yell.
"I never said… you know what? Bye. I hate when you get like this." She said and hung up the phone. She sighed heavily and rubbed her temples.
"Girl, are you ok?" Toya asked. Terri-ann could've felt her friend's concerned gaze even without looking. Terri-ann just stared at her, feeling hopeless as she put her head down.
"I just really hope this doesn't get any worse than what it is" terri-ann thought to herself.
. . .
Zaiko had told Mako over the phone that he was going to fight, not because of Yaiko's verbal assault, not because Yaiko's reasoning was stupid. He straight up said he was fighting for Terri-ann.
WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN.
At first Mako thought Zaiko was fighting for her love. The pure thought of that almost made him want to hurl. Zaiko was not one to fight unprovoked but that didn't make his ego any smaller. He nearly believed his brother was doing it just to prove he was stronger. Mako had noticed that grin from the gym this morning. He couldn't wait to show off. The last bell rang and the gym was flooded from all four corners. Kids smashed into each other pushing and shoving, practically killing each other just to be the first outside. In the sea of kids Mako happened to catch a glimpse of Terri-ann. The look on her face made Mako want to run for his mommy. Her normal gleaming green eyes had now darkened with anger. Her hair stood up like angry octopus tentacles. It was a sight not to behold. She had another girl with her..and she wore way too much lip gloss. (Her mom better not be a… nevermind). A loud boy with blonde hair and amber eyes soon snatched Terri-ann away from the girl and dragged her towards the door.
"Found Yaiko" mako muttered to himself. That's when it clicked. "He's gonna do what she wants to do right now," Mako said. "beat the hell out of him." He walked out the set of double doors from earlier that morning and was instantly blinded by sunlight. Through his pained eyes Mako could see that a good majority of the students left and went home. mako smirked. At least a good handful of the kids wouldn't feed into this shit. On the down side enough of the kids stayed to form a huge circle in the courtyard. There was no way out. Yaiko and terri-ann walked past, him and terri-ann locked eyes for sec. She looked like she wanted to slap the hell outta yaiko right there but she kept walking. The circle parted for the duo to enter as they stood in the center. Mako hadn't even joined the crowd yet he was still standing by the door. "Come on man, where are you?'' Mako asked out loud. 6 seconds later, Zaiko stepped out the door and his look tells mako he's ready. are you sure? Mako asked. Zaiko looked at him and grinned as he walked past him. "Dude, you worry to much"
Zaiko stepped off the last step of the small stairs and made his way towards the circle. As he did he noticed that a lot of kids had their phones out to record. Typical zaiko thought. Just like for yaiko and Terri-ann the circle parted and allowed zaiko to enter quickly closing behind him. As he studied the crowd he knew one thing for sure. Low profile was Gone regardless of what he did now. Yaiko began to laugh. "So you show up After all." He scoffed. "good I'm going to enjoy this." Terri-ann shook her head tired of his cocky attitude and joined a group of kids and mako finally did the same. Yaiko got into stance. "Hey let's make a deal!"he sneered. Zaiko followed by entering his stance. "Shoot it,'' Zaiko called. "if i win,"yaiko told him, `` you must never talk to terri-ann again. but if you win she is no longer my girlfriend. Zaiko looked at him dumbfounded. The stakes were dumb (and yaiko) but he gave him the thumbs up anyway. Yaiko grinned. "You have my word as a mura!" He mockingly Bows. "Begin!" the entire crowd called. Taking a deep breath Yaiko jabbed his right hand and a quick powerful fireball shot out but Zaiko simply side stepped. as it shot past him it quickly dispersed. That was weak, he thought. Yaiko ran until he was 10 feet away, jumped, and sent a high power fire ball with his foot. Zaiko stepped forward and did something that surprised the crowd, he raised his right arm and let the ball slide into it. spinning quickly he shot it right back at him just as fast. Yaiko didn't have enough time to do anything except block, he raised his arms to protect himself and was blasted clean out of the air sending smoke into the air. Once the smoke cleared everyone could see the surprised look on yaiko's face. Smudge and soot smeared his cheeks. "I'm not going to go down that easily, you'll have to do better than that,'' Zaiko said. He took a deep breath and this time he sent a fireball with his left hand. Yaiko ducked. Zaikos fire shot over his head and dispersed after a few feet, scaring a kid into dropping his phone. The crowd cheered and began to chant. " "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" Yaiko got up and charged until he entered mid range and once again jumped into the air. Only this time he sent volleys of spin kicks creating multiple slashes of fire towards zaiko. Zaiko ran forward as the slashes hit the ground behind him. Yaiko landed back on the ground, kneeled on one knee and glared at zaiko. He ran forward and when he got close enough to punch zaiko he swung his fist to burn zaiko up close. "It's over now,'' Yaiko declared. Zaiko dropped his guard and sidestepped him easily then chopped yaiko in the back of the neck. On contact fire flared up for a sec and then yaiko fell to his knees. Zaiko brushed his hair out of his face. "Man your way too sloppy," Zaiko said, taking a deep breath. "H-how did this happen" yaiko said to himself. "Well a deal's a deal," Zaiko said, brushing his pants. "you're as single as a pringle,'' he laughed. Yaiko clenched his fist and got to his feet. He swung his fist in an attempt to strike but in mid swing an air blast pushed him back and mako walked into the middle of the circle. "This battle was over once you fell, take this as a lesson don't let your pride get you embarrassed again" mako said calmly and sternly. Zaiko heard everyone's phone make a ping noise which let him know no one was recording anymore. He looked around at everyone in the crowd, their faces full of surprise and joy. Then mako tugged his arm. "Um dude,'' he pointed behind him. Zaiko turned and saw terri-ann leaving the school grounds. "Go man i'll handle things here mako told him crossing his arms. Zaiko ran through the crowd of people in pursuit and behind him he heard his brother yell "alright kids shows over go home!"
. . .
Zaiko didn't mean to follow her home but the way things played out it might have seemed like he did. Just as she crossed the street a block ahead of him he pulled out his phone and called her number. He hadn't realized he remembered it. Not too far ahead he saw her stop and pull out her phone to answer. "Hello" he heard her voice say on the other line. It was soft but full of pain. "Hey you turn around," Zaiko said to her in a joking voice. She turned and when she saw zaiko her expression went from shock to sadness to happiness all at once. When zaiko had finally caught up with her she rushed him with a tight hug. Her hair smelled like coconut and her breath was soft. "Zaiko, I am so sorry" she told him. Zaiko could tell by the tone in her voice that she seriously didn't expect any of that to happen.
"Hey terri you don't have to say-
Zaiko was stopped by intense throbbing in his head. He grabbed his head and shrieked in pain. Terri-ann gasped and kneeled next to him."Zaiko are you ok!?"
Then to her surprise his eyes turned white and he spoke in many voices at once.
"The cycle continues"
And with that his eyes changed back to normal as he passed out right into terr-ann's arms. Looking around terri-ann saw no one outside and there was no sign of help anywhere. Panicking
She quickly took zaiko's phone and called the contact labeled mako. The phone rang for about 5 seconds before someone picked up.
"Um hello is this mako this is terri-ann yaiko's ex." She sighed. Zaiko's knocked out"
