One beautiful day in Toad Town, a young Toad had arrived home.

Maggie commented, "Mom! I'm home!"

Maggie's mom (C.C.) smiled, "Well, hi there, sweetie! Home early today, huh?"

Maggie admitted, "Ms. Ingletoad just wouldn't stop talking! Blah blah! So I snuck out and came home!"

C.C. told her, "You naughty little scamp! You'll never grow up into a fine Toad with such bad behavior!"

Maggie groaned, "Fine, Mom, whatever. So, is dinner ready yet?"

C.C. confirmed, "Yes, dear, it is. But call your dad before we eat."

Maggie nodded as she went out of the room, "Dad! Dinner's ready!" A pause. "Dad?"

Maggie screamed in fear as she ran up to her mom.

C.C. was confused, "What is it, dear?!"

Maggie stammered, "I - it's Dad… He's…"

All of the sudden, the house shook as a nearby wall was destroyed. Out came a bloated Toad by the name of Niles.

C.C. cried out, "NO! Honey!"

The newspaper took Niles' picture and reported, 'The Blorbs! Mushroom Kingdom Marred by Mystery Malady! The Blorbs! It comes without warning! First, you balloon to blimp size! Then the rolling! You roll away! Oh, the horror of the Blorbs! As of press time, the cause and cure are unknown… Day by day, the number of blorbed Toads swells… Seeing how grave the situation is, Princess Peach convenes an emergency meeting at her castle…'

Speaking of which, Peach had just concluded the powerpoint slide. Toadsworth was upset.

He commented, "Oh! How absolutely wretched… Such a thing has never happened in the history of the kingdom!"

The Toad Council that Peach had gathered were chit chatting.

One of the Toads (Andy) stated, "Soon the entire Mushroom Kingdom will get the blorbs… We've got to find the cause and get this place back to normal."

The other Toad (Bert) added, "Yeah, obviously; but we've never dealt with something like this. I have no idea what we are going to do! I suggest we panic!"

Andy replied, "Pull yourself together, man! We need to do something! My son… He also… He also has the blorbs…"

Toadsworth started to say, "Princess! We still await…"

Peach pointed out, "Yes… We've sent word to the Star Sprites for help, but… We've gotten no response."

"Pardon me!"

Everyone perked up.

Toadsworth breathed, "Oh, glorious! I daresay our Star Sprite has arrived!"

That's when Starlow came in and floated in front of Peach.

She apologized, "Sorry I'm late! This castle is huge!"

Toasdworth perked up, "Princess… This thing is…what?"

Starlow greeted, "Nice to meet you! I'm Starlow! Peach sent word of trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom… So, as a representative of the Star Sprites, here I am!" She turned to the council and added, "Hello yello!"

Toadsworth commented, "Mercy! Such pep! Such verve! Such unswerving confidence! So you'll be able to cure the blorbs, then! Correct?"

Starlow stammered, "Oh… Uh… Well…"

That's when she told them all the truth. The Star Sprite couldn't do much, the blorbs were out of their power. Toadsworth was in deep thought.

Toadsworth mumbled, "Hmm…"

Starlow told them, "Well, I did some research on similar afflictions, but… The blorbs seem to be in a class all of their own. It seems to be incurable… If we could just find the cause, we'd have a place to start…"

The nurse (Georgia) commented, "The medical staff did what we could to ease the swelling… But as far as we can tell, we can't reverse their effects…"

Bert replied, "You docs gotta do something! This is a national emergency!"

Georgia snapped, "Thanks for the news flash! Obviously we wanna help!"

The council started to argue.

Peach got in the middle of the fighting, "Hold on, all of you! Before we lose our heads, there is someone we can count on!" Everyone perked up as they looked at the princess. She further added, "May I suggest we ask Mario, Luigi, and Violet?"

Toadsworth responded, "They should be here by now, Princess."

Meanwhile, Greg opened the castle door. He allowed Mario, Luigi and Violet to come in. Violet was about the same age as the twins. She had short brown hair, green eyes, wearing a snowflake necklace, a purple long sleeved blouse, black caprice, and black sneakers.

Mario greeted, "Hey Greg, sorry we're late."

Greg shook his head, "Actually, you're right on time. They need you three in the council room."

Luigi replied, "Let's see what's going on."

Violet agreed, "Right."

With that, the three of them went into the council room. Everyone looked at them.

Toadsworth commenter, "Ah! Master Mario! Master Luigi! And Master Violet! We've awaited your arrival! Let us resume the meeting."

Toadbert opened his book and read, "Now then, going on what little information we've unearthed… The cause may be a mushroom sold by a local merchant."

Mario pointed out, "Gonna have to narrow that down. I mean, there are a ton of merchants on Toad Avenue alone."

Peach was a bit taken back by the information, "Oh dear! A mushroom? You mean to tell me that a mushroom caused the blorbs?"

Luigi stated, "Sounds logical but like Malleo said there are a ton of merchants out there."

Toadbert nodded, "Well, yeah, we interviewed all the blorbed Toads we could… And they all said they'd brought Blorb Mushrooms."

Violet repeated, "Blorb Mushrooms?"

Toadsworth realized, "Not a local variety, of that I'm quite sure. What kind of rapscallion would sell such a thing?"

Toadbert answered, "Well, according to one of the witnesses, it was a fellow in a cape…"

Mario frowned, "Not much to go on. But it sounds like Fawful again."

Violet was the one to frown, "Fawful?"

Luigi realized, "Oh right! You weren't there the first time. Fawful was an apprentice to Cackletta. They had planned to steal the Beanstar and Peach's voice so they could awaken the Beanstar. The reason for that was that the Beanstar could only be awakened by a pure and beautiful soul."

Mario teased, "Weegie had a boyfriend during that time!"

Luigi blushed out of embarrassment, "Would you stop that?!"

Peach perked up as she remembered, "Oh yeah, that's right! Peasley had a bit of a crush on you!"

Luigi was completely embarrassed as he looked at his girlfriend. Violet was laughing heartily.

Violet asked, "Wait wait. Peasley had a crush on you?"

Luigi answered sadly, "Si, it was a long time ago though. Are you mad?"

Violet was about to explain but then they heard something. A familiar laugh… Everyone paled as Mario, Luigi, and Violet jumped in front of Peach. There, at the end of the table, was Bowser.

Bowser huffed, "Peach! So I'm an outcast, huh?! What'd I do to deserve this?!"

He punched through the table, walking over to the princess. Mario, Luigi, and Violet were blocking him.

Peach demanded, "What are you doing here?! We're in an important meeting here! The kingdom is in danger!"

Bowser told her, "I happen to live here too, you royal genius!"

Mario activated his Firebrand, "Not for long! Back off! Now!"

Bowser laughed at him, "Oh please! I'm not scared of you."

Luigi activated his Thunderhand, using it as a shield to protect the princess. Violet had activated her Aurora Nine, using it to stand with Peach.

Luigi stammered, "Y - you should be!"

Violet hissed, "Who invited you anyways?!"

Bowser griped, "Well, excuse me, sacred violet ice, but this is between Peach and me!"

Violet paled at that statement. Why wasn't Bowser still affected by what happened a few months ago?

Mario huffed, gaining Bowser's attention, "Hey! Eyes on me!"

Bowser laughed, "Bring it on then!"

Mario fight Bowser, alone. It didn't take him long to trounce the Koopa King. Peach was able to freeze him with her wish power and Starlow was able to do the same with her star power. With a flick of her wrist, Bowser was thrown out of the room.

Violet sarcastically asked, "And you didn't do that last time…why?"

Peach giggled as she panted, exhausted. "It tires me…"

Mario remarked, "Good job, Peach!"

With that, Mario went over to his girlfriend and kissed her gently. Peach returned it, happily.

Luigi stated, "Aww…"
