Esdeath, the notorious general of the Empire, had always been a fearless and ruthless warrior. But tonight, she was in for a terrifying experience that would shake her to her core. As she lay in her bed, her eyes closed in sleep, her mind began to conjure up vivid and disturbing images.

Suddenly, she found herself standing in the middle of a dark, snowy landscape. In the distance, she could see a large building, looming eerily against the night sky. She felt drawn towards it, as if compelled by some unknown force.

As she approached the building, she could hear strange sounds coming from within - the sound of doors creaking, footsteps echoing down long hallways, and a faint, haunting melody. Suddenly, she found herself standing in front of a door, and she knew that she had to go inside.

As she pushed the door open, a blast of cold air hit her face. She stepped inside and found herself in a long, dimly-lit corridor, with doors on either side. She hesitated for a moment, but then she heard a voice calling her from the end of the hallway.

"Esdeath," the voice whispered. "Come and play with us. Forever and ever."

Esdeath felt a shiver run down her spine. She walked slowly down the hallway, feeling as if she was in a dream. Suddenly, a figure appeared before her - a man with a wild look in his eyes, holding an axe.

"Here's Johnny!" he shouted, lunging towards her with the axe.

Esdeath let out a scream and bolted upright in her bed, covered in sweat. She realized that she had been dreaming - but the dream had felt so real, so vivid. She looked around her room, trying to calm herself down, but she couldn't shake the feeling that the nightmare was still somehow with her.

Suddenly, she heard a voice in her head - the voice of the man from her dream.

"Esdeath," the voice whispered. "I'm coming for you. You can't hide from me."

Esdeath let out another scream, convinced that she was losing her mind. She leaped out of bed, ready to face whatever horror awaited her - but then she heard a soft knock on her door.

"General Esdeath?" It was one of her soldiers, sounding concerned. "Are you all right? We heard you shouting."

Esdeath took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I'm fine," she said, her voice shaking slightly. "Just a bad dream."

As she lay back down in bed, trying to calm her racing heart, she couldn't help but wonder - was it really just a dream? Or had she somehow tapped into something dark and dangerous, something that was waiting for her just beyond the veil of her own consciousness? She knew one thing for sure - she never wanted to experience that again.
