Thunder roared as lightning flashed across the dark night skies and the rain poured down hard on the ground below even though the wind howled and shook trees and other debris around the storm In the City of Wichita Kansas people were scrambling to get in doors and out of the rain before they got sick. This was the main goal for one family currently driving down the highway in a Blue 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, the family was a family of three a husband,a wife and a 9 year old son, they were known as the Richards.
The husband's name was Tommy, the wife's name was Julia and the son's name is Samuel, Tommy is an Accountant and Julia is a kindergarten teacher, they were driving home after seeing a movie. What made this whole thing even more bizarre is that this thunderstorm came fast and out of nowhere it was sunny one second and now it was dark and cloudy with water falling from the sky.
The windshield wipers moved back and forth wiping away the constant rain water slightly obscuring his view of the road. As they continued driving down the highway they began to notice that the rain was coming down extremely hard as they saw that the road was beginning to fill with water to the point where the threat of a flashflood was a sure thing.
"Oof it's coming down hard."Julia said leaning forwards towards the windshield look at the sky Tommy nodded his head looking at the watery road then he looked at the rearview mirror which showed Samuel who was looking out his window with a placid expression on his face. "We're going to be home soon buddy don't you worry."Tommy said with confidence.
Samuel wasn't all that worried because he knew that would make it home fine because they've been in bad weather before and they turned out ok, Samuel didn't fear Thunderstorms on the contrary he was interested in them was well as all other forms of weather that's why when he grows up his dream is to be a meteorologist. Samuel continued looking at the sky and watched as the rain fell and splashed on everything insight as lightning lit up the sky and the sound of Thunder echoed through out the air however that wasn't the only sound that echoed through the air.
Samuel couldn't hear it all that clearly because it sounded a little distant but he heard it well enough, To Samuel it sounded like a hawk call but something was wrong with it it was a little deeper than it was supposed to be and judging by the way it resonated through the air it was like whatever made that sound was much much bigger than it's supposed to be.
Samuel looked towards his parents who continued looking at the road "Mom Dad did you hear that?"Samuel asked Julia looked back at Samuel confused "Hear what dear?" "That sound, it sounded like a hawk like a big hawk i think."Samuel said tommy scoffed looking around at the rain "what kind of bird would fly through this mess?"Tommy asked with a little chuckle.
Samuel didn't answer that as he continued looking at the sky hoping to probably see a massive bird if there was one out there then that was then Samuel saw it. Out in the distance approximately about a mile away diving out of the dark clouds and then soaring in the sky was an extremely impossibly massive bird.
It's wingspan looked about bigger than a jumbo jet, even though it was a little far away Samuel could still make out some details about it's appearance, it looked like a giant Bald Eagle with the same coloring as one it also has some key difference one being it's mammoth size and the other being that it had a tyrannosaurus like tail covered in brown colored feathers and the end of it's tail and to add further weirdness Samuel could see a bright yellow lightning bolt like mark near the end of it's tail.
Samuel watched as this Mysterious bird flew through the rain going the direction of which they were coming from, then the bird flapped it's giant wings which caused loud thunder to echo throughout the sky and spooked Samuel. What's it just perfect timing or did this wierd bird caused it somehow.
Samuel watched as the Bird continued to soar in the air before it moved upwards and disappeared into the dark clouds with lightning flashing after it, Samuel couldn't believe what he just saw as he turned towards his parents with excitement on his face "Did you guys see that?!"He exclaimed Tommy was watching the road and Julia had her eyes closed as she opened them to look back at Samuel.
"See what?" she asked "In the sky there was a bird, I mean a really big bird, it went up into the clouds!"Samuel said making Tommy and Julia look at each other in confusion thinking their son lost his mind "This storm is playing tricks on you champ you're seeing things,we gotta get you home."Tommy said staring forward determined to get them home
Samuel looked back at the window and stared at the cloud bank waiting for something else to come out, Samuel was certain he didn't imagine it, he knew he saw a massive bald eagle in the sky but the question still buzzed around his head as he continued watching as lightning flashed and thunder roared.
What was it and where did it come from?
