If That's Okay

The sun shone above in the blue sky, and the sandbar, just off of Whale Island, far from the ports and ships, was empty sans for Mito and Palm.
"Isn't this great?"
"What is…?"
Mito kept walking, hands clasped behind her back. "Being on the beach, and we have such a beautiful day for it too."
Palm nodded. "Yes, it certainly is…"
"And the water looks amazing."
The waves moved forward and backward as they kept walking along the shore.
Mito was unsure of what to think of Palm at first, getting used to living on Whale Island with her. Palm was quiet, kept to herself, but in this instance, just walking on the beach was comfortable for her.
"If it's okay, we can just walk here, it's fine by me." Mito said aloud, her voice reassuring and gentle.
Palm smiled slightly. "I appreciate that, thank you."
"Don't mention it, I don't think we can swim in these waters just yet." Mito replied, looking off to the sea, beyond the horizon.
Palm stepped closer to Mito, and her hand slowly moved to grasp onto the other woman's, their fingers threaded. "Right now, being here with you, it's perfectly alright."
Mito turned to face Palm, and she smiled back. "Glad to hear that."
