Angel Attack
It started, as always, with a dream. Ever since Akko had linked her mind with that of the legendary Godzilla, he would visit her in her dreams to inform her of any threats, but most of the time, nothing serious came up. Tonight though, Godzilla dropped a dead thing in front of Akko. It looked like some elongated jellyfish with insectoid legs and two whipping tentacles on the side of its head. "What is that?", asked Akko. Godzilla simply looked up to the sky. "An alien?", asked Akko. Godzilla nodded. "You've fought aliens before", said Akko, "What's so special about this one?". Godzilla simply growled as he looked to the sky. Suddenly, they were surrounded by yellow lightning! Godzilla roared before disappearing.
Akko awoke with a start in her bedroom. She threw the blankets off and looked out the window, checking for any signs of a storm. Thankfully, it was a clear sky that Saturday, but Akko couldn't help but wonder. Just then, Diana, her new girlfriend(Akko still couldn't believe it herself), burst into the room. "Did he show up again?", she asked. "Yeah", said Akko, "He 'said' something about fighting aliens, but this time, it was different. Then, we narrowly avoided getting hit by lightning". "I really think you should consider redoubling efforts to sever your link to that foul creature", said Diana. "He and I have a deal", said Akko, "I serve as his right hand and he leaves everyone I care about alone". "What about the ones you don't care about?", asked Diana. Akko tried to come up with a point against that, but couldn't. "I know you want to keep us safe", said Diana as she took her hands, "but this Godzilla is too dangerous. He knows every strategy that could kill him, and he likely knows how to use magic". "I know", said Akko, "But, maybe there's some good in him". "Better to be safe than sorry", said Diana, "Now get dressed. We have a surprise for you".
A few moments later, Akko had changed into her uniform and followed Diana. "What's the surprise?", asked Akko. "As I've told you a hundred times in the last two minutes, I can't tell you", said Diana. Just then, they turned a corner and Akko's jaw dropped. Standing in front of her was Misato Kagari, a woman with a red jacket, purple hair, and brown eyes. "Oka-san?", asked Akko softly. "Atsuko", said Akko's mom as she hugged her.
"So what brings you here, Oka-san?", asked Akko as she and her mother walked through the school grounds. "Come now, Akko-chan", said Misato, "I get a letter saying you can't come home ever again and you thought I wouldn't come"? "That's fair", said Akko, "But I didn't want you or anyone else to get hurt by Gojira". "I know that", said Misato as she ruffled her daughter's hair, "But a part of me thinks it's not just us you want to protect here". "What makes you think that?", asked Akko. "Remember what I taught you about the hibakusha?", asked Misato, "I'm no fool, Akko-chan. I know you're afraid of suffering like them". "It's not that, Oka-san", said Akko, "What I'm more afraid of is losing everyone I love because of this". "Akko-chan", said Misato, "I know better than anyone you won't allow that to happen either". "I've failed before", Akko said softly.
Meanwhile, in her basement lab, Constanze was putting together something new. "Whatcha got going on there, Cons?", asked Amanda. Constanze handed her a manga borrowed from Akko, then pulled the tarp of off her project. "Oh, I see", said Amanda, "Building another robot". Indeed, this robot had a silver head with blue eyes and permanent smile, a red arrow on his chest, yellow highlights on the arms, and blue boots. Constanze then held up a sign that said: "His name is Jet Jaguar". "Cool", said Amanda, "What can he do?" Constanze pushed a button, and Jet Jaguar walked over and punched a concrete block in half! Just then, a drone flew in to attack, only for Jet Jaguar to shoot it down with his laser vision! "Awesome", said Amanda excitedly. Constanze pointed to a crude drawing of Jet Jaguar beating up Godzilla. "That's all well and good, but I have a better idea", said Amanda…
A little while later, Jet Jaguar was dressed up in a trenchcoat and fedora, walking arm in arm with Amanda. "O'Neil, what sort of mischief are you up to this time?", asked Diana. "Nothing like that at all", said Amanda, "I'm just showing my friend, J.J, around the school. J.J, this is Diana". Jet Jaguar bowed to her, with Diana doing likewise. Just then, Akko and her mother walked over. "Hey, I didn't know you brought another friend here, Amanda", said Akko, "Oka-san, this is Amanda." "And this is J.J", said Amanda as Jet Jaguar bowed to them each. "Nice to meet you", said Misato, "I've been warned you're quite the troublemaker". "Ma'am, you're only in trouble if you get caught", said Amanda, "and I don't mean to brag, but I have never been caught. Right J.J?" Jet Jaguar flashed a peace sign. "Seems like your friend is verbally challenged", whispered Misato. "He's just shy", said Amanda, "Constanze relates to him a lot. He's like a brother to her". Jet Jaguar nodded along with this. Just then, a butterfly flew over and landed on Jet Jaguar's outstretched hand. "A true romantic at heart", said Amanda. "That's weird", said Misato, "I've only seen this kind of butterfly back in Chiba". "J.J, take a picture", said Akko. Jet Jaguar's eyes flashed briefly before the butterfly took off. "What was that you did with your eyes?", asked Diana. Suddenly, Jet Jaguar pointed at something! Everyone turned, and while they were distracted, Amanda and Jet Jaguar ran off.
Some time later, Misato and Akko sat down with her mentor, Professor Chariot. "Alright Professor", said Misato, "What exactly has changed?" "Aside from Akko getting her grades up", said Professor Chariot, "I'm afraid the school's magic barrier may not hold up under another attack". "Is there a way to fix it?", asked Akko anxiously. "Not without another philosophers stone", said Professor Chariot, "Akko, I know you're scared by the possibility of Luna Nova's destruction, but Headmistress Holbrooke wants me to assure you that everything is under control". "I give it about five minutes before something goes wrong", said Misato. "Probably less", said Professor Chariot as an embarrassed Akko buried her face in her palms.
Unknown to everyone, something massive fell from the sky and landed in the forests far from Luna Nova. It opened its nine eyes before stretching out its four legs, shambling towards Luna Nova.
Meanwhile, Amanda looked over the photo Jet Jaguar took of the butterfly while looking through some books. "I didn't expect to see you here", said Diana. "When something catches my interest, I investigate", said Amanda. "What did you and J.J find?", asked Diana. "Not much", said Amanda, "Something about a Shinto moth goddess sending these little guys out to warn of upcoming disasters, but with our luck, that could be anything". "Well, since you two are here", said Diana, "I want to try out a spell I just learned". "Knock yourself out", said Amanda. With the wave of her wand, Jet Jaguar's clothes and outer armor disappeared, revealing his inner mechanisms. "J.J, you were a robot this whole time?", asked a shocked Amanda, causing Diana to groan and hold her head. Jet Jaguar simply shrugged. "It's a spell to reveal someone's true character", explained Diana, "In case of shape shifters or mind control spells. Evidently, J.J is another one of Constanze's contraptions". Just then, Jet Jaguar put down a book and pointed to its contents. "What is it?", asked Amanda. "According to this", said Diana, "some thousand generations ago, a three-headed devil sent an army of Angels to destroy the Earth, only to be sent back into space by Guardian Monsters. There's a prophecy that when a human soul merges with the most powerful monster on Earth, the devil will return to seek revenge". "Well shit", said Amanda. Just then, they caught sight of a spider-like being with nine eyes and four, long stalks for legs! "It's Matarael", said Diana, "The Third Angel".
Akko and Misato saw Matarael approaching before feeling the ground shake. "Akko-chan, what's going on?", asked Misato. "He's here". Just then, the ground exploded, knocking Matarael over. Out of the crater arose Godzilla, who roared a challenge to the spider Angel! He then fired his atomic breath, only for the beast to block the attack with its A.T Field! Then, Matarael tried to stab Godzilla with its leg, only for Godzilla to snap it half with his jaws! Then, he knocked the Angel back with his tail! Finally, he crushed Matarael with a single stomp of his clawed foot! Then, as storm clouds circled overhead, Godzilla let out a thunderous roar! Lightning flashed across the sky, revealing a three-headed, golden dragon flying overhead. "It can't be", said Professor Chariot. "It is", said Akko, "Ghidorah".
