A Step Forward Into Terror
As the storm subsided, Godzilla snorted and walked off. "Now where's he going?', asked Misato. "Off to get allies", said Akko, "He's telling me to warn everyone". "Little late for that", said Amanda as she ran over. "How do you figure?", asked Misato. "We have a total end of the world scenario here", said Amanda, "It's in this book right here". She showed the book to everyone, point specifically to the picture of Matarael. "That's not all", said Diana, "That thing over there isn't alone. There's more of them out there". "I can handle this", said Akko, "We need to keep the school safe". "That shouldn't be a problem", said Professor Chariot, "I'll alert everyone right away". "Diana, I need you with me", said Akko as she took her by the hand.
They went into the library and Akko immediately got to work drafting an email to Andrew Hanbridge, her friend over at the local boys school. "Must we rely on both this infernal machine and Andrew's help?", asked Diana. "He's the one who forwards this stuff to his dad", said Akko, "Besides, it's not like we have any other friends in the government." Just then, Sucy walked over. "End of the world, huh?", she said. "Yeah, pretty much", said Akko just as her other friend, Lotte, walked over. "So, what is this, the second time we've stopped something like this?", she asked. "Third if you count that whole affair in London", said Sucy, "I just hope we don't have to deal with Varan again". "There's a good chance we will", said Diana. "Done", said Akko, "Now all we have to do is wait." "For what? More monsters?", asked Lotte. "I don't know, maybe", said Akko, "Honestly, I kind of hope this time the army can beat the Angels".
At that moment, Andrew checked his email to find what Akko had sent him. His father, Earl Hanbridge, an older man with fading blond hair and glasses, looked over to see it. "What do you think?", asked Andrew as he brushed his black hair back. "I think this is exactly the sort of situation we set up our foundation for", said Earl Hanbridge. "A shame they couldn't pull through during the Missile Crisis", mused Andrew. "I'm aware, son", said Earl Hanbridge, "But just as our witch friends chose to isolate themselves from the mortal realm, including the Kaiju, so too have our other friends chosen to ignore incidents involving magic. Well, until now that is". "That's another thing I've been meaning to talk to you about, Father", said Andrew, "I have a feeling Akko won't like our consultant". "Her expertise was useful in recreating the machine", said Earl Hanbridge, "If we are to stand a chance against all threats terrestrial and extraterrestrial, we have to put aside our differences". "I just hope Akko will understand", said Andrew. "We have our ways, son", said Earl Hanbridge as he pulled out his phone, "Let us extend unto her an invitation".
Later that day, Andrew arrived at Luna Nova in a black helicopter. He stepped out, followed by some armed guards. "Who's that?", asked Misato. "Andrew Hanbridge", said Diana, "He's a family friend of mine". "Akko", said Andrew, "My father has invited you and your friends to convene with him at our...secret hideout. God, that sounds dumb". "What if we refuse?", asked Misato. "Time is of the essence", said Andrew, "There's no time to argue". "Let's hear him out", said Akko, "Maybe they have a way of stopping Ghidorah and the Angels." "I'd say it's worth a try", said Amanda, "and if they give us trouble, we'll have Constanze and J.J take care of them". "Count me in as well", said Misato.
They got into the helicopter and were soon flying over the ocean. "So... how's the piano thing coming along?", asked Akko. "Just fine, given the circumstances". "Looks like we're picking up some turbulence", said one of the pilots. Suddenly, a massive, neon-blue bird with no eyes flew up beside the helicopter! "What the hell is that!?", cried Amanda. "It's Arael, the Angel of the Sky", said Diana. "We're almost there", said the pilot, "But nothing short of a miracle will get us out of this". Suddenly, Rodan burst out of the sea and attacked Arael! "That'll do it", said Misato. Rodan slashed at Arael with his claws, only for the Angel send him flying back with an electrical burst! Undaunted, Rodan flew in and stopped in mid-air, sending a large burst of wind that knocked Arael away! Rodan grabbed the Angel with his talons and dove back into the sea! "There's the landing point", said the pilot. "I have a feeling our German companion will love this", said Andrew as the helicopter approached an oil platform.
Rodan and Arael continued to clash beneath the waves, with Rodan slashing at the Angel with his claws! Just then, Godzilla swam in and sliced off one of the Angel's wings with his dorsal plates! Rodan grabbed its head and pulled it out of the water before bludgeoning Arael with his beak, killing it instantly! The oil platform opened up and the helicopter descended into a chamber that lead into a massive cave, with multiple steel buildings lining the cave walls. The helicopter landed in front of black, metal pyramid near a docking platform with fighter jets. Constanze was already taking photos. Just then, the cave rumbled ominously. "I take it that was Arael?", asked Sucy. "No", said Andrew, "That was something else." "Godzilla?", asked Lotte. "Most likely", said Diana
Everyone was lead into the control room, which had a large window looking out at the ocean floor. Just then, Earl Hanbridge stepped forward. "Good to see you've all made it", he said. "Who are you?", asked Misato. "My name is Earl Paul Hanbridge", said Earl Hanbridge, "And you are?" "Misato Kagari", said Misato, "I'm Akko-chan's mother". "I think the better question is where are we?", asked Diana. "We are in Castle Bravo, home base for our organization, Prodigium", said Earl Hanbridge, "Normally, we wouldn't civilians into this place, but as you know, it is a matter of great importance that you are here". "So you know about the prophecy?", asked Amanda. "Indeed", said Earl Hanbridge, "Ever since Prodigium and the world of witches joined forces, we've been combating threats from both the Kaiju and those who use magic for evil. I would like, if I may, to show you something"…
He lead everyone to a platform in front of the black pyramid and pushed a button on the control console. The pyramid then opened up and scaffold moved towards the platform. Inside the scaffold was a new Mechagodzilla, with black armor, red eyes, long arms that ended in five-digit claws, serrated dorsal plates, and a tail that ended in a blade. "You rebuilt that thing?", asked Amanda in shock. "No", said a voice, "We built a new one". Everyone turned to see Professor Croix descending from a floating platform, dark goggles hiding her eyes. Akko scowled at Professor Croix as she smirked. "Long time, no see", she said. "Not long enough", snarled Akko. "I know you're wondering how I built this", said Professor Croix, "Godzilla was kind enough to provide a test subject: the dead body of the Angel Bardiel. It, along with the body of the Angel Shamshel, were sufficient enough to create a new Mechagodzilla". The cave rumbled again. "Looks like our guest is waiting for us", said Earl Hanbridge. "Yes", said Professor Croix, "Godzilla will fall in line with us". "Why would you say that?", asked Lotte. "Godzilla has been a thorn in our side for far too long", said Professor Croix, "Once Ghidorah is dealt with, we'll make sure he never attacks humanity again".
"What would happen if someone was mind-linked to him?", asked Misato. "They'd be free of his influence", said Professor Croix, "Why? Are you his lawyer?" "I can't believe you", said Akko, "It's not bad enough you made it so Professor Chariot can't fly, but now you have to insult my mother?" "So goes life, I guess", smirked Professor Croix. She stopped smirking, however, when Akko grabbed her by the throat and lifted her into the air with one arm! "Akko-chan, what's gotten into you?", asked Misato. "Akko can't come to the phone right now", growled Akko as her eyes glowed a deep purple. "Wait a minute", said Diana, and with the wave of her wand, she casted a spell. Just then, Akko faded away, revealing Godzilla, whose eyes were also glowing purple. "He's controlling her", said Misato. Just then, armed guards appeared and aimed their weapons at Godzilla, only for Diana, Lotte, and Sucy to throw themselves in front of him. "Don't shoot", said Sucy, "It's just a projection". "Gojira", said Misato, "I wish to speak with my daughter. Can you let her back in?" Godzilla regarded Misato before dropping Professor Croix. At once, he faded away and Akko appeared. Suddenly, she his hit with a tranquilizer dart! Then, the cave rumbled again. "Pack it up, fellas", said Professor Croix, "We've finally captured Godzilla".
