Despite not necessarily being a particularly social person, Herse was a person who could easily get along with just about everyone and was just as easy to get along with. The most likely and prominent factor for that being her kind and gentle nature, something that earned her a place in the house of Hufflepuff. Despite being in the house often considered the leftover-house by the other houses, Herse had acquaintances if not outright friends in all four houses of Hogwarts, many of whom had been people Herse got paired up with in class. The only people who didn't get along with Herse were people who almost actively wanted to antagonize her, namely Draco Malfoy of the Slytherin house. There was the youngest male member of the Weasley family, Ronald, who Herse wasn't particularly fond of, mainly because he hadn't been particularly nice to Hermione, who had come to Herse to vent on occasion about her frustrations with Ronald, which often ended with Herse giving her friend a gentle hug (after asking for permission).
Quietly watching the soon-to-be first years fondly, reminiscing about how it was only a year ago she was in the same boat, Herse turned her attention towards the teachers' table. Taking particular note of the fact that a lot of the teachers were looking at the most recent addition with looks of annoyance and contempt. Gilderoy Lockhart, the famous author of questionable authenticity and the Hogwarts newest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Tilting her head in order to get a better view, Herse spotted something that she was quite surprised was still present from her first encounter with the newest member of staff, the (admittedly somewhat faded) bruising on Lockhart's wrist from when she grabbed it when he tried to touch her somewhere he shouldn't and gave it a very firm squeeze, the only thing stopping her from crushing it being him promising to not bother her again out of damaged pride, even if most of the bruise was hidden underneath Lockhart's sleeve. A brief flash of Io's memories called forth the mental image of the arrogant Revenant who basically held Io hostage while Hermia was forced to search for Blood Beads in the area known as the Ruined City Underground and spent most of his time staring at Io's body eerily, not that it was obvious due to his Purifier Mask completely covering his face, much like how Io's own Purifier Mask would have if it wasn't for the fact that the left side of its eyeshield had broke at some point prior to meeting Hermia.
As the last ones of Hogwarts newest students took their seats at the tables of the house they got sorted into, Herse stopped paying attention to what was going at the staff table in favor of giving a nervous first year, who had taken a seat next to the heir of the Attendant of the Blood's memories, a gentle and reassuring smile, making the first year calm down. After a speech from the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, containing various announcements for the year, during which Herese only half paid attention to due to getting somewhat distracted by one of Io's memories popping up in her head, something that had started to happen randomly whenever Herse wasn't paying attention ever since Io's memories fully awakened, in which the Attendant of the Blood got to witness the memories of another Attendant together with Hermia via a Vestige, more specifically the Attendant of the Ribcage, after which Io asked her 'charge' to allow her to accompany Hermia and the rest of her crew on their journey, Herse and the rest of the house of Hufflepuff made their way towards the basements, the location of Hufflepuff common room and dormitories.
