Chapter 4: Dwarfin Quirks
Chapter Summary: Shouta recovers under the care of the kind but rambunctious dwarfin children. While staying there he realizes there's more to them than meets the eye.
Shouta awoke in the cottage the next day, or at least he assumed it was the next day. It was still dark outside and the only light came from the lantern he had brought in the night before. He blinked a couple of times to clear the fog from his eyes and brain. He had to think a bit to remember where he was and why, but when he did he let out a breath containing several emotions as it was all he could do at the moment.
None of what happened yesterday seemed real, it was more like a dream;
His stepfather wanted him dead and Shouta was literally forced to flee into an enchanted forest that almost killed him before finding a cottage belonging to seven children, who could use magic. (If they were telling the truth that is.)
'Scratch that earlier thought.' There's no way this could be a dream because there's no way he could ever imagine any of that happening—except maybe the first part.
Shouta winced at the pain that shot through his body as he tried to sit up, not helped by the multitude of blankets that had been tossed over him with good intentions. Most of his wounds, while deep, were nothing that he couldn't manage. His leg, on the other hand, was a different story. Shouta grunted as he slowly pushed it over the edge of the bed. He was sure it wasn't broken; Shouta had broken his leg once cleaning a ledge, so he knew what it was like. However, the bite marks were deep and made any movement a pain.
Still, Shouta was a stubborn man and through sheer determination managed to stand with only slightly more than a little stumbling. Once he managed to stand on his feet he looked himself over.
While the kids had good intentions they clearly had no idea how to bandage a person properly and just wrapped him like a mummy. He had let it go however since he was in no position to treat himself. (That and he was only half-conscious at the time.)
He glanced around at his surroundings. It was hard to see with only one light, but even with that, he could see that everything was filthy. No scratch that, filth was cleaner.
Dust was everywhere in thick layers, only disturbed by the occasional footprint. Cobwebs seemed to decorate every corner and window like paint patterns. (Luckily there didn't appear to be many spiders.) Toys and trinkets were scattered everywhere. Honestly, the fact that he didn't trip on them while bleeding was nothing short of a miracle.
'Hasn't this place ever been cleaned?' Somehow he doubted it.
There was a polite knock at the door before it opened.
"Uh-um, Mr. Aizawa?" It was the dwarf with the green hair and freckles. Izuku, he believed. "Are you awake?"
"Yeah." Izuku kept his distance at the doorway while he stared up at the man with caution, worry, but mostly curiosity.
"Um, should you be up yet? You're really hurt after all..." Seeing his expression, Shouta sighed.
"Probably not," he admitted and let himself slump back on the bed, making his earlier struggle pointless. Izuku hesitated a moment before stepping towards him. He carried a lamp with him which helped to make the room brighter. Shouta was a bit relieved by that as he didn't have to strain his eyes as much to see.
"Um! I-I have breakfast for you." The dwarf boy pulled out a dark red apple. Shouta hoped the bandages hid his grimace. Because his arms were wrapped in columns he couldn't reach out to grab the apple. Izuku seemed to realize this after a beat.
"Oh! Right. Sorry, um-do you need me to feed you?"
"No," Shouta still had a little pride. "Just hold it a moment."
Somehow he managed to balance the apple between his covered hands and bring the fruit to his mouth.
"What time is it?" he asked before he chomped into the juicy fruit.
"Oh! I think it's—2 'o clock?"
"In the morning?"
"No, in the afternoon." Shouta raised his brows.
"Really? It's still…" he nodded to the window where the dark was only countered by the lights outside.
"Yeah, it's always dark here," Izuku explained. "We're not sure, but we think the trees are too thick for the light to get through. We can't remember ever seeing the sun." That was—depressing. He never thought about it before because it had always been there but now he couldn't help but think how comforting it would be to see daylight after the hell from the night before.
There was an awkward silence that Izuku decided he needed to fill.
"So, um, the others are at work today but Momoyao and I stayed behind to take care of you," he explained. "S-so if you need anything, let us know, okay?"
There was another knock and the dwarfelle in the red swimsuit entered.
"Is he awake?" Momo asked. Then she saw Shouta sitting up in bed. "Oh! Um, good morning..." Shouta returned the greeting as she shuffled over, holding a bowl in one hand and a lamp in the other. With a third lamp added, the whole room was lit up now. "I found some nuts for you in case you wanted some."
"You really don't have to go through all this trouble..." Shouta muttered. He was used to getting all this attention from Hizashi who was like an overly affectionate puppy. Everyone else in his life kept their distance because of his appearance and scullery worker status. Unless they wanted to give him more work that is. To receive this kind of care from others, and from children nonetheless, was embarrassing.
"It's okay!" Izuku said with a surprising burst of enthusiasm. "We don't mind at all. And to be honest, it's kinda refreshing to see someone new, ya know? We haven't had a guest… ever!"
"Besides, that's what you came here for, right? For help! So we're going to do all we can to help you." Momo added as she leaned forward slightly. Shouta had to turn away from their bright, eager-to-do-good faces. He was glad the bandages around his face hid his blush.
"Are your parents okay with all this?" Come to think of it Shouta didn't think he saw any adults since he arrived. He had been too exhausted to worry about it last night, but now that he had gotten some rest the question had popped up in his mind.
The dwarf children went quiet after Shouta asked the question. When the silence continued Shouta looked at them. Momo had turned her head away, her lips pressed into a thin line as she hugged herself. Izuku looked as if he was holding back tears as he forced a smile.
"We—we don't… I mean..." He couldn't even start the sentence but he didn't need to. Shouta understood enough from their expressions.
"I'm sorry-" he started to say. Izuku shook his head, throwing his tears like a sprinkler.
"It's fine! I mean, no it not…but," he rubbed the arm of his shirt across his eyes multiple times. "But it happened a long time ago. Be-besides it's not like we're alone. We have Tenya, Ochaco, Toru, Tsuyu, Denki, and each other." He reached out a hand to grasp Momo's. Momo smiled back, though there was still some loneliness behind it.
"S-so it okay. It's okay…" Shouta turned his gaze away from them and thought about his next words carefully.
"...My parents are dead too," he admitted, causing the others to look up. He continued, "I don't have anybody ether… except Hizashi. So, I know how it feels."
"Hizashi… Is that your friend?" Momo asked. He nodded.
The silence fell once again as neither wanted to push the other in fear of bringing up bad memories. The lack of adults did explained why the house looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.
"Uh, um, we should do something, shouldn't we?" Izuku said after a bit. "Though I guess you can't do much, can you…? Oh! I know!"Izuku ran to the bed with red and blue sheets. From under the pillow, he pulled out a book, moving aside a doll. Once he had the book Izuku ran back over and crawled onto the bed where Shouta sat. He placed the book on his lap and Shouta noticed that the book was quite old. The leather was worn while the pages were yellow and threatened to fall out. On the cover there were faded shades of where letters used to be. They read, "The Legends of All Might."
"Since we have nothing to do, we can read this!"
"Oh. Wonderful..." Momo said in the tone of someone who had heard a story a thousand times but didn't want to be rude and ruin someone's enthusiasm.
"All Might, huh?" He recalled Hizashi mentioning him in a couple of tales once when they were younger. He also found mentions of him the library when he would sneak in to read.
All Might was a legendary warrior who was said to have defeated the Demon King and his army an eon ago. Shouta chalked it all up to fairy tales though. Izuku nodded eagerly, eyes sparkling.
"Yeah! He's the greatest hero ever!" he said. He opened the book and started reading;
'Long, long ago the world was overrun by demons, led by a Demon King who had used his army to conquer all the lands. Stripped of the will to fight back the good people were enslaved and exploited by the wicked ruler. Long did they suffer under the wicked king's reign until one day a group of people found the courage to rise up against the evil rule. They fought against the darkness and despair, bringing hope to where there was none. These people were called heroes and the greatest among them was All Might. Using his power he smashed through the darkness and defeated the demon lord. Thanks to him harmony returned to the land, earning him the title of the "Symbol of Peace."'
Shouta noted that Izuku was paraphrasing a lot, as his words didn't match the book, but didn't think much of it. He was having fun and he supposed that was all that mattered. As Izuku read Momo leaned over to Shouta on his other side. Izuku was so caught up in his story that he didn't notice.
"Sorry about this," she said in a whisper. "Izuku is a little obsessed with All Might."
Obsessed was right. Izuku read off all the tales of All Might; how he slew the demon king, the demon bird, demon cat, demon spider, demon dog, and all the other demon creatures. He also told Shouta of how All Might only used broadswords and only one of a certain steel with a special leather made from dragon skin. All Might also used a special morning dew carefully gathered to style his hair. He also had a special concoction to brush his teeth which gave him the perfect smile—Before the day was done Shouta knew every trivia question and answer about All Might except how to end the damn trivia questions. Though that was answered when Momo convinced Izuku to save some stories for later.
"We don't want to overwhelm with All Might's greatness!" she had told the boy, to which he agreed.
Shouta let out a sigh. Who knew that dwarf children knew so many tales about All Might—wait a minute.
Something occurred to the human that had not occurred to him the night before because of how out of it he was.
"Are you all really dwarfs?" The two blinked at him, tilting their heads at the odd question.
"Yeah?"
"Why?"
Dwarfs weren't considered to be real. There was no mention of them in history books and they were only given the passing mention in fairy tales. So were the kids telling the truth about what they were, or was that just what they called themselves? He doubted they were purposely lying. They seemed too honest to do that. He thought about asking but decided it wasn't important, at least not now.
The "dwarfin" children stayed with Shouta all day, helping him with all they could. Shouta felt bad about this but really did appreciate their efforts. For their part, they seemed to enjoy it, which helped with his guilt a little.
The rest of the dwarfs returned later, not that he could say when exactly (the clock was downstairs). Shouta heard their arrival as they came up the stairs.
"Hey Momoyao, Izuku, Mr. Aizawa! We're back!" Ochaco called as she opened the door.
"And we have berries!" Shouta heard Toru say. He still wasn't used to a voice coming out of nowhere no matter how friendly it was. She was holding a bag that Shouta assumed had the berries.
"Thanks..." he muttered. He couldn't take them because of his hands, so she set them on the bedside table.
"Was everything okay while we were gone?" Tenya asked all of them. "No sudden urges for blood or flesh, or turning into bats?" Shouta bit back a sarcastic remark.
"I'm fine," he said.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. Momo and Izuku were here to help me." Momo and Izuku beamed brightly.
"Momoyao!" Ochaco went over to the older dwarfelle. "I tore my shirt today, can you make me another?" She showed her a small hole near the elbow.
"Sure! No problem!" With that Momo created a pink tunic from her arm.
"Thank you!" Ochaco pulled her old shirt off and tugged on the new one. Then she threw it into the pile of clothes in the corner. There were a lot of piles around the room and Shouta was willing to bet that there others around the house.
He was perplexed at first but realized that it made sense. They were young children with no adult supervision. It wasn't irrational to assume that without someone to push them to clean up they wouldn't bother. And with someone who could make whatever they needed when they needed it there was no reason to try and fix anything, assuming they even knew how.
That said, the idea still annoyed Shouta. Maybe it was because Shouta had to make, repair and sew all his clothes himself. He kept his mouth shut tight, however.
After a few minutes of chatter Ochaco, Momo and Toru went to grab apples for everyone to eat. Tsuyu and Izuku had left to help Tenya find his spare glasses before asking Momo to make another pair. Apparently, he cracked the lends at work. Whatever that was.
He took a deep, exasperated breath and laid back, partly from boredom, partly from exhaustion. He closed his eyes against the soft thumping in his head. He didn't know how long he could put up with all this. This was only day one. How long was he supposed to lie there doing nothing but listen to kids—being kids?
Shouta thought he was alone but opening his eyes he saw that wasn't the case at all. Denki stood at the far side of the room, watching Shouta intently. The man raised a brow hidden by the bandages.
"What?"
"You may have tricked the others but I'm on to you, vampire!" the boy huffed, pointing accusingly at him.
'This again?' Shouta rolled his eyes as he let out an exasperated sigh.
"I already told you, I'm not a vampire," he said, trying to remain patient.
"Ha! Nice try," Denki scoffed, his mouth twisting slightly. He was still pointing at Shouta. "But a real vampire would never reveal that he was a vampire!" Shouta thought on this.
"True," he conceded. "But only to a potential threat, otherwise why waste the time?" Denki looked offended by this.
"We're threatening!" he whined loudly, chest puffed out.
"Not really," Shouta leaned back, staring at the ceiling. "You're barely 3 feet tall. And none of your magical quirks would be harmful to a vampire." 'Except maybe Momo who could maybe create a sword.' But no need to say that out loud though.
"Not true! My quirk would!" Denki argued, crossing his arms across his chest. He was scowling deeper than before. Shouta probably should have stopped but he was having fun teasing the boy.
"You think so?"
"I DO! See!" Denki held out his hands and aimed at a pillow. His body became surrounded by electricity. A small stream of lightning shot from his index finger. Shouta watched the scene with eyes twice their usual size, focused on what used to be a pillow.
As feathers rained down around them, Denki turned to a startled Shouta with a cocky grin.
"See! I'm super powerful!" he bragged.
"I...I guess so!" Shouta conceded. He had no idea that any of these kids could conjure lightning. He wondered what else they could do?
Denki stood a little taller now, his chin slightly tucked to his body. His eyes twinkled with glee and a bit of pride.
"Wanna see more?! I can blow up a lot of stuff!" he said, just a little too happy at the idea. Shouta practically jumped inches off the bed at the idea.
"What?! No-!"
Denki aimed his hands at a table and blew it up as well, creating a small fire.
"Okay!" Shouta said loudly, starting to get nervous. "That's enough-"
"What's going on?!"
The other dwarfs burst into the room, startling the blond. Because of this he accidentally created more electricity than he meant to and shocked himself. Denki's body lit up like a star before going dark. Izuku and Tenya, who hurried over, caught him as his smoking body fell back.
"Denki! Are you alright?" Izuku asked.
"Eh, heh, heh, heh!" the blond babbled back. The other two sighed.
"Is he okay?" Despite the boy going crazy in an immature attempt to show off, Shouta couldn't help but worry.
Denki swayed back and forth, his face looking dopey as he blathered to himself. He gave a thumbs up.
"He'll be fine!" Momo assured him. "He gets like this when he uses his quirk too much and fries his brain."
"That's 'fine?'" No one seemed to have heard Shouta. Tenya puffed up as he and Izuku held up the static boy.
"He really shouldn't do that! He's going to get hurt one of these days!" he complained. If he was trying to scold the blond he was wasting his breath. Denki was in his own little world as the other two boys helped him climb into bed.
"More importantly, are you alright, Mr. Aizawa?" Tsuyu asked.
"I'm fine… but what the hell was that?!" Shouta managed to keep the squeak from his tone but his eyes were still wide.
"Oh, that was just Denki's quirk." Tsuyu said as if a boy throwing lightning around wasn't anything special at all.
'Why am I questioning this?' He was in an enchanted forest, in a cottage where seven dwarfs, who shouldn't even be real, lived. One was invisible while another had a tail. And it wasn't like he was a stranger to magic; Runes were used around the palace all the time and Hizashi could talk to animals and amplify his voice. He should not be as shocked as he was.
To be fair though, there was a big difference between seeing a rune lying around once in a while and seeing a child create lightning from their hands.
"Mr. Aizawa?" Shouta was pulled from his thoughts and saw that the others were watching him with concerned looks. "He didn't try to hurt you, did he?"
Shouta thought about this, then shook his head. While things got out of hand and dangerous almost immediately Shouta didn't feel that there was any malice in the actions. A lot of childishness though.
"No. He was just showing off and got carried away."
The others sighed in relief.
"We're sorry about that," Momo said. "It's just… We're not used to guests, visitors, or just—anyone…"
"So… you've never seen a human before?" They shook their heads.
"Nope. Never seen a human, an elf, a troll, a goblin, a dragon, a unicorn, or anything." Toru mumbled from her bed and a mass of stuffed animals. She was a hugging a bunny like toy.
"Unicorns don't exist," Ochaco called from her area.
"Do too!"
"Nuh-uh! Unicorns are just zombie horses that got their heads impaled with swords-"
"Huwah!" With a strange battle cry, Toru threw her pillow at Ochaco, who tumbled back out of her bed. Izuku was worried she was hurt until the young dwarfelle popped up with a determined frown.
"So! You have chosen WAR!" she cried as a fiery aura surrounded her. She grabbed her own pillow, sucked in her breath, and floated into the air like a balloon. There she took the aerial advantage to toss two pillows back at Toru. "Huwah!"
"H-hold on! We can't just start-" Toru ducked so the pillow hit Tenya in the face, interrupting his talk. Toru popped up with an unseen cat grin.
"Hah! Missed—Ahh!" Toru was hit with a pastel green pillow. Tsuyu's face had a mischievous gleam to it.
"The powers of water and air unite!" she called.
"All right!" Ochaco floated down and down to give Tsuyu a high ten. Toru popped up with a pout.
"I'm outnumbered! Momoyao! Help me!"
"I really don't think we should be—wahh!" Momo fell forward when a pillow hit the back of her head. When she popped back up her hair had fallen around her and was fraught with static. Her eyes became sharp with annoyance.
"Oh, so THAT'S how it is, hm? Fine!" She created small 'throw pillows' from her arms and legs. "Let's play!"
"Momoyao, please! You're supposed to be—ACK!" Tenya dodged out of the way with a rapid speed that Shouta could barely keep up with. When he blinked Tenya had appeared in a different spot. "Girls! That's enough! This is highly immature-!" This time a pillow did hit him.
"Tenya!" Izuku exclaimed.
"Ha! Got 'im!"
Just like that, everything spiraled out of control. Suddenly there was a small war on hand with the boys-minus Denki-trying to rein the dwarfelles in. And failing.
Shouta watched the chaos with tense annoyance as things got wilder and wilder. During the fight, Momo had even made a small catapult to launch the pillows at Ochaco, who bobbed around like a bubble. Feathers fluttered like snow from the pillows that fell apart upon impact with a person. Shouta didn't want to intervene as he didn't want to overstep his bounds but things were really getting out of hand. Shouta tried to calmly settle them, but they didn't hear him over their rambunctious play.
"Hey now, let's all…"
"Die, demon!"
"You're going to—"
"Hah! You're no match for my-"
Having failed to get their attention, he tried to ignore them, but the intense mountain size headache wouldn't allow him. Finally—he snapped.
"ENOUGH!"
All the kids froze where they stood (or floated in Ochaco's case). Shouta couldn't even rub his throbbing temples because of the way his arms were wrapped.
"Look at this! You're going to hurt yourselves. Not to mention you'll destroy your house at this rate. Then you'll have to live in the woods." They all shuddered at the thought. The girls all became sheepish for getting carried away.
"Sorry, Mr. Aizawa…" They all apologized.
Shouta fell back on the bed with a loud sigh. He should ask Momo to make him a white jacket because Shouta was going to become insane before his recovery was done.
It took all of Hizashi's willpower to keep his composure as he returned to the palace. In theory, it might have been wiser if he hid somewhere in the kingdom for now, and Hizashi did consider it, but then decided it would have been pointless. Hiding would have been a waste as the king could use magic to find him. And who's to say that Shigaraki wouldn't activate the spell on Hizashi's throat and kill him from a distance? Then what? No. As much as his survival instincts denied it, this was the best option. That didn't stop his heart from beating against his rib cage like a frightened animal. Speaking of hearts and animals;
His gaze drifted down to the box in his hand. It wasn't easy—he had several new bruises and a few sore bones to prove that—but he did kill the beast in the end and gets its heart. He felt bad for the creature but if its heart helped to fool the king, then it was worth it. If not—well, at least Snow White was safe. Hopefully.
Hope. Hizashi found himself hoping a lot ever since he was summoned by the king;
Hope that everything would be okay. Hope that his trick would, the curse would be lifted, and he could find Snow and they could run off together, faraway from the king and his madness, and live happily ever after. It was a faint hope, but it was the only thing keeping him from crumbling to pieces.
He swallowed to moisten his dry throat, which gave a painful twinge at the action. Wincing, he lifted a hand to his throat, reminded of what his fate would be if the plan failed.
The servants opened the doors to the throne room. Hizashi entered with the same fear as he did the first time, only he carried in his heart a blazing resolution that kept the dark terror at bay.
His gaze was low, focused on every step he took and every sound they made. The room was brighter than the last time he was here, but not by much. Just enough so that he could see the king who lazed on his throne. Shigaraki watched him with a blank face.
"I trust the deed is done. Otherwise, you wouldn't dare approach me again," he said, voice low and warning.
Without a word, Hizashi held out the jeweled box that was given to him to hold Snow White's heart. He didn't trust his knotted tongue at the moment. As he did so, a manic grin crossed the king's face.
"Excellent!" Shigaraki stood to take the box from Hizashi's stiff hands. With a wave, the entire room started to spin in a swirl of shadows.
Before he could blink Hizashi was in a different room, a room darker than the throne room. He almost thought he went blind, but then he saw the ominous black flames in the gloom.
'Shit.' This wasn't in the plan at all.
"Be grateful," Shigaraki told him. "Not many get to see this room. Consider it part of your reward."
The king turned and started to walk down the hall. At first, Hizashi couldn't see why, but then he saw the darkest thing he could ever imagine;
A mirror towered at the end of the room. Just looking at it emitted feelings of horror that even Hizashi's worst nightmares couldn't achieve. The longer his eyes stared at it, the faster his heartbeat. But he couldn't look away. No matter how he wanted to, his eyes were transfixed on the murky surface of the mirror. Inside his mind, there was a fight between his instincts whether to run or strike. Neither mattered as his body was paralyzed. So he stood and watched.
The King approached it, the jeweled box with the heart in hand.
"Looking glass upon the wall," he said as he held the box in front of him. "At my command, you will show me all!"
Hizashi took a sharp breath as the outline of something his mind couldn't process appeared on the thick glass.
"Your wish is my command, my king." a voice rumbled throughout the room, its tone reminding Hizashi of rattlesnakes.
Shigaraki spoke as if he took a childish pride in holding the box and its contents.
"The problem has been solved, and I didn't have to waste a spell. And with this," He held up the box. "Not only will I once again be the most powerful warlock in the lands, but I'll have a new power that I will use to bend the lands to my will."
There was a look of sheer madness on his face as he spoke but also a look of triumph. It quickly fell away, however. There was a dark hollow laugh that echoed from the darkness all around them.
"Oh my king," the mirror spoke. "You may be strong now, but Snow White still possesses the power greater than yours."
Hizashi narrowed his eyes under a furrowed brow.
Snow White possessed magic? Since when? That was the reason Shigaraki wanted Snow dead? Because this—thing told him that?
Shigaraki growled.
"Snow White is dead!" he yelled. He thrust the jewel box forward and opened it. "Take a look for yourself! This is his heart! Cut out and bared for me to feast upon!" Hizashi grimaced at the mental image. The creature in the mirror laughed once more, loud enough to make the hunter flinch.
"Snow White lives. And with him lives the power that will take yours away," he told him. "What you hold is the heart of a beast, in both your chest and your palms."
Hizashi moved. There was no door in the room that he could see, so he threw all caution to the wind and charged at Shigaraki, dagger in hand. Sadly he didn't even get close before something reached out of the floor. He felt it wrap around his entire torso, pinning his arms completely to his side before dragging him to his knees. Hizashi struggled, trying to pull his arms free, or at least loosen the bonds, but it was no use.
The king approached him, kicking the fallen dagger into the air and catching it with one hand.
"You must be the dumbest man in all the kingdom. Not only do you go against my power and betray me, but you try to kill me?" Though his voice was drawled, his eyes were blazing. As he spoke the dagger melted in hand until it was a pile of goo. His rough, cracked hand grasped Hizashi's chin. He tried to pull away as his face started to singe, but the king forced the hunter to look at him.
"Did you really think any of this would work?" he asked, his dull tone hiding his anger. "You must really be an idiot." Hizashi forced a laugh, making the king's frown deepened.
"You're one to talk! You actually thought I'd kill Snow White? Not a chance," he sneered. "Do what you want, but I'll never let you hurt him!" The bindings tightened around Hizashi enough that his bones started to crack.
"Urgh!" Hizashi gritted his teeth to keep from crying out, though a little blood dribbled past his lips.
The king stood above him, glowering.
"We'll see about that!" His eyes flared and Hizashi screamed.

A/N:
*Ever notice you have a favorite word while writing? I think mine's "however" and "though."
Meta notes:
*Yes, I took a lot of influence from the Light Novels.
*It's hard writing Shigaraki in this role. All For One, as well.
Dwarf Notes:
*An evolutionary advantage that dwarfs have is that they heal quite fast, whether it's from physical wounds or sickness.
**Poisoning them is neigh impossible. The only poison dwarfs have been known to suffer is alcohol poison.
***Some say that they'll die from the hangover to kill them, however, this is suspected to be a dramatization as most only die after they slam their hammers into their heads to stop the headache.
*Most Dwarfs obtain magical abilities around in their late childhood. What these abilities are is the luck of the draw.
**Izuku doesn't have a quirk because he's half-human which cancels out the magic. However, if he was ever trained he might be able to use human magic.
***Dwarf bloods are usually very proficient in using runes.
**Tsuyu is technically quirkless as well. Her abilities come from her Merrow blood and she only has the physical ones.
