Pokémon Academy – A Legend in the Making
Summary –Kobukan Academy, a place where people need to graduate from the Academy to become what they want, to either be a trainer, coordinator, researcher or anything in-between. Join Ash as he becomes a legend in the making.
Tags – Alternate Universe, Harem, Older Ash, Older Characters, Alternate Dimension, Ecchi, OOC Ash, Smarter Ash, Overprotective Pokémon for Ash.
This is sort of based on the game, Pokémon Life Academy.
Pairings - Ash/Harem
Why Harem? - I know that most of the people who read this absolutely hate this genre, but I like it if it is done right. And for a shitty excuse, I can't choose between the girls in the series and in the manga.
Notes – Now I know that having a harem is basically ruining a fanfiction for some, but others seem to enjoy them. I will try my best to incorporate relationships with Ash the best I can.
This is in a Dimension, in the Multiverse where it is more 'advanced', and people can't travel around until they completed the time in Kobukan Academy or in other Academies or have special permission from the Professor of the Region and the Police and has officially registered in the Pokemon League.
Author Note – There will be Manga characters and Anime Characters appearing in this book either as side characters. And there will be people and Pokémon from all the anime so far. Including regions and Pokémon itself, but only available in a certain region.
Rating – M for Dark Themes and Language
Crossover – Pokémon, Slight Yu-Gi-Oh GX
Regarding Counterparts and people form the Manga – Some characters will appear as Students, some as Professors and some even as professional coordinators and battlers. The only thing that hasn't changed is Champions and Elite Fours.
Disclaimer – I do NOT own Pokémon or any of the related cross-over references. I only Own OC'S that will appear in this book and I own the Plot-line.
Romance won't be a massive writing point; I'll just go on with the flow. I'm not writing who Ash will be with as it will be spoilers.

Volume 1, Chapter 1
A battlefield, that was colored in gold trimmings, it had a field entirely compromised of lush green grass, that was cut short to an impecable degree.
It was darkened so you couldn't see the competitors on either side awaiting in their little boxes of the battlefiend, all you could hear was the deafening crowd cheering, hoping for a good match.
The middle of the battlefield, a spotlight shone upon a person wearing a referee getup, short red sleeved shirt with a Poke Ball symbol on his chest, short black pants with two additional pockets, and a pale man with short black hair and black eyes.
"Welcome to the Final Battle everyone, It's for the title of Pokémon Master! From the Red corner, we have the uprising superstar, Ash Ketchum!"
The official announced, and a spotlight shone over Ash, revealing him to be in his late teens, consisting of a blue collared shirt with short sleeves, white trim, a black undershirt, darker blue jeans, a red and white hat, and red high-top sneakers. He had jet black hair under his cap, he had two 'z' shapes on his cheeks and had brown eyes. He also had a serious expression on his face, but you could clearly see the excitement flowing through them.
"From the blue corner, we have our undisputed champion, who hasn't been challenged in over a decade. Please welcome, the Pokémon master!"
As the spotlight was about to shine on the figure, it was suddenly blurred and became distorted. The distored figure's mouth opened, however, what came out of its mouth, was not normal, in fact, it didn't even sound like someone foreign...
Instead, it sounded like his mother.
"ASHTON KETCHUM! GET UP, YOU WERE MEANT TO BE UP OVER AN HOUR AGO!"
Ash was heavily surprised by the interruption in his dream and fell off his bed comically with a thud, successfully banging his head on the ground.
"Oof!" He grunted out in pain as soon as his face contacted the floor. Well, if he was drowsy, he certainly wasn't now! That shit hurt!
Groaning as he picked himself up off the wooden floor, he brushed himself off the dirt before recomposing himself as he coughed gently, before he started to look around the room, which could also be considered his little 'sanctuary', with multiple different Pokémon items, even a massive plush of a Snorlax located within the far corner of his room. His room had plain blue wallpaper, along with some lighter blue trimmings along with edges, and a single light bulb that is around a Voltorb, which shines red and white to give off the necessary lighting that he wanted, and required.
Standing completely upright, Ash stood at a rather modest height of 5'6, meaning that he was at about average height for a fifteen-year-old male that was from Kanto, but certainly shorter than an average fifteen-year-old from the Sinnoh region. His body frame was on the leaner side of things, and whilst not that impressive, he did have a bit of muscle to his frame, simply due to the fact that he had been helping Professor Oak at his lab, and ranch for the past year or so now.
Yet, it was Professor Oak, who was the main reason why he was enrolled in Kobukan Academy in the first place, as he might've pulled a few strings in the right places to have him enrolled a year early.
Some might've called it 'favoritism', but Proffesor Oak simply saw it as a little... push in the right direction to nurture all of the talent in the right direction, rather than having it wasted.
Shaking his head away from those thoughts, Ash was about to get dressed and head downstairs when he heard his mother's voice ring out once again, "Ash! Get your ass down here, now!"
He couldn't help but wince as he heard the hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Give me five minutes, mom!" He yelled from his room, he heard a slight 'hurry up' from behind the door, and then some slight thudding, which told him that his mother was now walking down the stairs, probably warm up breakfast... again.
Ash looked down at his pajamas and sighed quietly to himself, "I really need to get new pajamas, if someone sees me like this…" He begun, before gulping lightly, thinking of what people would think of him wearing light green pyjamas with little Voltorbs on them, "I'll be the laughing stock of the campus." He muttered quietly to himself and proceeded to go to his wardrobe to start changing.
As Ash made his way downstairs, he was dressed in a blue unzipped jacket with white trims and a black zipper with a black undershirt, that clung to his muscles around his body, he was wearing blue jeans with red sneakers, his raven black hair was still messy, but was mostly hidden under his official red and white Pokémon league cap. He also had black fingerless gloves to keep his hands warm and make it easier to do certain things.
He made his way to the dining room, to where he could already see his breakfast waiting on the table. He sat down at the table and began eating his pancakes, that melted in his mouth, and he couldn't help but give a moan with how tasty his mother's cooking was, and he just leaned back, allowing himself to fully enjoy the meal before him.
"You know dear, that you only have about half-an-hour before the exams start?" He heard his mother ask when she came around the corner and leaned against a wall and looking rather amused at the sight of Ash enjoying her cooking.
Ash's eyes bugged out of his head comically, then he started to inhale his food quicker than a Ninjask's wings flapping!
Within mere moments, the stack of six pancakes was demolished, only leaving bits of syrup left on the plate as his knife and fork were quickly plopped down on the edge of said plate.
Standing up, Ash soon rushed over to his mother who was trying her best to not giggle her heart out and gave her a massive hug, before finally pulling away, and getting one last look at her for what would possibly be for a very long time.
His mother has brown eyes and brown hair. She wears a pink short-sleeve jacket with a yellow undershirt that has a yellow apron over the top of it, a purple skirt, and light green shoes. She had slightly tanned skin from the housework and gardening work she does. She was slightly shorter than Ash standing at about 5'5.
She was Delia Ketchum, a single mother, but was also a successful restaurant owner in Pallet Town, well that was because she has the only restaurant in Pallet Town, meaning that it was very popular with the small population of Pallet Town, and sometimes even got visitors from Cerulean, or even Celadon due enjoy the local cuisine, or enjoy the rural area.
The Ketchum name was pretty famous in the small section of Kanto, just because of how well received the restaurant was in Pallet Town.
"Don't forget to change your underwear, everyday young man." Delia said strictly while tapping Ash's nose.
"MOM!" Ash yelled out, an embarrassed blush on his face as he pulled away from her, "I'm fifteen! I know what I'm doing with myself!" Ash shouted out with a face that could put a tomato to shame.
He seriously hated it when his mother did things like this! It was so embarrassing!
"I know, but you will always be my baby boy." Delia said, placing a small kiss upon Ash's nose, "Now, get going young man, I have your bag packed and on the door handle." She said, shooing him off with her hands.
"Thanks mom." Ash murmured out, rubbing his nose hoping to get the soft pink lipstick off of it, "I'll call you later!" Ash said before he quickly bolted out the door, completely forgetting his one and only Poke Ball that was left on the dining room table.
The special Poke Ball was most like a regular Poke Ball, however, it had a special little marking on it in shape of a lightning bolt.
Delia couldn't help but sigh as she heard the front door slam closed, along with the sight of the Poke Ball still on the table, "He already forgot something…" She muttered out, before shaking her head, "Oh well, he will just have a harder time in the exam now." Delia said to herself in an exasperated manner, before picking up the Poke Ball, making a plan to mail to the academy later today.
"'Scuse me! Coming through! I'm late!" Ash shouted as he ran past some people, while apologizing to the ones he's knocked over or accidently bumped, he was trying to find a facility that was here only until the exams finish.
He saw it, it was a very tall building that looked like a flying dome of sorts on top of a hill with a railing over the side and a small forest overlooking it. It was deep blue, with panes of glass that were clear, but had a purple tint to them. As he saw it, he quickly sprinted over to the people marking off the name list.
"Mark everyone else, nogoers." The gruff man said as he was about to pack up his stand and let the others know that no-one else was coming.
"WAIT!" He heard two voices shout out behind him... well one from behind and one from directly besides him.
"M-mark, A-Ash Ketchum present." Ash said while bending over and catching his breath from the decent run he just had.
However, both saw a random hand come grabbing at the railing, and a boy who looked to be about one year older than Ash made his way over the railing and flopped down on his back with a resounding thud.
"Ouch…" The boy murmured out, a small wince on his face as he landed rather harshly upon the concrete. He stuck his hand up into the air and shakily croaked out. "J-Jimmy... is... also present." The boy now known as Jimmy spoke out, his voice rather shaky from the pain that he just experienced, and the quick rise and falls of his chest meant that he was breathing rather heavily as well.
However, in a mere flash, he was back up on his feet, giving everyone a bright smile as he stuck his thumb up, "I'm alright!" He yelled out, giving Ash and the older male a large sweatdrop.
Now that he was upright, Ash could get a look in for his height, and it seemed that he stodd at about 5'4, and he was wearing a backwards baseball cap that was golden and blue, and has a bit of dark blue hair that came out of the cap end and spiked up then came back down over his face, he was also wearing a red jumper that was completely zipped up and had a white zipper and white pockets at the bottom of it. He also had a black undershirt underneath the jumper, he was wearing gold and black shorts with red short socks and gold and black sneakers.
"You guys were just in time." The man spoke out, getting rid of the small sweat drop that he had upon his forehead, "Although, I think the final battles are happening now." He spoke out again said, completely unfazed by both boys' reactions and promptly ticked their names off the little sheet.
However, as soon as both boys heard that the final battles were happening, they both rocketed up and rushed to the inside of the faculty.
The guards that were guarding them, were packing up but sweat dropped at the scene they just witnessed.
Inside the facility, it was beautiful, it had many battle fields on the floor, and seemed to have cost a lot of money to both build, and regularly maintain. There were also many different levels on the outer section, that allowed many other people who had been accepted to overlook the battles, either taking note of how others battled, or to see who weren't strong enough to get into the Academy in the first place.
Although, the entire color scheme of the inside of the building was rather bland, and only having spots of light blue, and dark blue along certain areas, but other than that, it was a simple greyish-white in color.
The chairs that people could sit on, looked to be made from red plastic that looked relatively comfortable with a nice back rest to lean back and relax whilst watching the battles as well.
"I guess I should formally introduce myself." Jimmy stated getting Ash to turn towards him. "I'm Jimmy, I'm from New Bark Town, in the Jhoto region." Jimmy introduced himself and stuck his hand out in front of him.
"Ash." Ash introduced himself, "Ash Ketchum, resident of Pallet Town." Ash introduced himself and gave a handshake to Jimmy.
After that they both had an awkward silence and kept walking forward to the seating area.
"So... Ash, how old are you?" Jimmy asked the boy with a critical eye as he was in Ash's personal space.
"Uh... well, I'm fifteen." Ash replied to Jimmy's question, as Ash slowly backed away from Jimmy.
As he said that, Jimmy seemed to gain stars in his eyes and quickly bolted to Ash's side and clasped his hands together with his. "WOW! YOU MEAN YOU ENTERED ONE YEAR EARLY? HOW!" Jimmy said very excitedly, luckily there were only a few who heard this, but they just scoffed at it.
"U-uh..." Ash murmured out, a little freaked out at the moment, "B-by helping... Professor Oak... looking after the Pokémon at his lab."
"Wow! And being able to study underneath the famous Professor Oak!" He spoke out, his eyes gaining stars in them, then he seemed to deflate a bit, "I was stuck with Professor Elm, and he… isn't the most exciting person to be around either."
"Professor Oak can be a rather… eccentric individual at times as well, often forgetting people's names, even though he has known them for a very long time." Ash spoke out, revealing on the Professor Oak's many quirks in that department.
Jimmy nodded his head at that, rather thankful that Professor Elm didn't do stuff like that, "I'm glad Elm wasn't like that... but he really does lose himself in his work... and is rather fascinated by Pokemon eggs..."
Ash simply chuckled at that, "I do remember Oak rambling about this Elm person."
With that being said, both Ash and Jimmy sat down at the chairs, and they were able to witness some of the battles being played out.
They could tell that it was going to be a start of a budding friendship.
"Some fascinating Pokémon have been used hasn't there?" Jimmy asked while they watched the last battle, a brunette girl from Kanto named Giselle just absolutely demolished the test, only using one of her own Pokémon to pass the test, however Ash could tell she was one of those rich girls who are very arrogant and use money to get things.
The way she carried herself as well... dear Arceus above, help him if he had to be in the same class as her...
Shaking his head away from those thoughts, he glanced towards Jimmy, "Indeed, some interesting Pokémon she used." Ash replied after getting some goosebumps watching that battle with a Pokémon he has never seen before.
"So, are you going to use your own Pokémon or use rentals?" Jimmy said trying to get some more information from his new acquaintance.
Once that simple sentence was done, Ash suddenly remembered something very important, "Shit!" He cursed out, nearly startling Jimmy, "I forgot my Poke Ball!"
Palming his own face for his stupidity, Jimmy couldn't help but to sweat drop a little in embarrassment, 'Is everyone from Kanto this… unique?' He thought to himself. However, he shook his head, "Well… that's not good." Jimmy spoke out, "Looks like you have to use the rental Pokemon… and I've heard that they are… not the easiest to use." He spoke out once again.
"I know… I've heard from Professor Oak." He murmured out, leaning back a bit, he couldn't help but to give a small sigh as he did so, "Well… I guess I need to head down to the rental service area." He muttered out, before getting up and starting the long walk to the service area.
He still couldn't believe that he forgot the most important part of this exam. How he could forget his partner so easily, he would never know.
"Can Jimmy come up to the second battlefield for his entrance exam." The announcement system called out, causing a small echo to ring out in the building, "I repeat, Jimmy please report to the second battlefield!"
"Yahoo!" Jimmy cried out, garnering some weird looks from behind nearby. He simply rubbed the back of his neck, slightly embarrassed by that outburst, before he quickly made his way down to the arena.
It took Ash a few minutes to make his way down to the rental service area – which was a small shopfront that had a great view on the main battlefield, but couldn't see the other battlefields all that well - where he could see a female clerk standing behind the counter, with a small television in the corner of the store where she could watch the ongoing battles happening on the smaller fields around the building.
Once Ash was within distance, he could see that it was Jimmy, who was battling with a Quilava, who was the evolution to Cyndaquil, the starter Pokemon the Jhoto region, and he was going up against a Pidgeot, one of the more powerful Pokemon of the Kanto region.
It would be tough battle, and it looked like Jimmy was on the backfoot, but Ash believed that he would be successful in his exam.
He didn't know why, but Jimmy just had this... energy about him that made him believe that was the case.
"Hello." Ash greeted out, garnering the attention of the female clerk, tearing her attention away from the television, she blinked a few times, before her eyes laid upon Ash.
"Hello, welcome to the rental service, is there anything I can help you with?" She greeted out, like she knew what to say by heart as she gazed at him, a hint of curiosity within her eyes.
"Yes, I would like to know what are the rules involving these Pokemon." He asked, he hadn't read the rental Pokémon rules before he came here, he was going to use his own Pokémon, but his memory had not allowed him to do that.
The clerk blinked a few times, before she gave a small smile before answering,"Well, the rules are simple; first you can only choose one Pokémon, because the entrance exam is a one-on-one battle, and whether you win or lose, you must return that Pokémon." The female clerk spoke the first rule, Ash nodded his head for the first one, that was a given. She then made a gesture towards a long line of Poke Balls, some of them were regular Poke Balls, but some of them were different, Ultra Balls, if he remembered correctly, "As you can see, there are regular Poke Balls, and then Ultra Balls." She said, taking a breath, "The Pokemon in the Poke Balls are more common, and easier to command in battle, whilst the Pokemon in the Ultra Balls are more powerful, but they are harder to command in battle." She said, smiling softly, however, her eyes gleamed, "However, whats inside of these Poke Balls, no one but our company knows~ They have been randomized after each battle of the rental system, so you may get a Magikarp, or something like a Pinsir!"
Ash nodded his head, "What about the Ultra Balls?" He inquired politely.
The clerk blinked, before smiling, "Well, inside the Ultra Balls... it could be something like an Aerodactyl, or something as extravagant as a Blastoise!"
Ash nodded his head once more, a soft frown marring his face as he gently tapped his foot on the ground.
Whilst he was interested in picking the Pokemon within the Ultra Ball, just to see what it is, it was far too risky at the moment, and he didn't want to have his exam fall to the balance of a Pokemon that might not listen to him.
However, his musings were suddenly cut short when the female clerk bent down, and picked up something behind the counter, before handing him a weird scanner-like device.
Ash blinked when he saw what it was, judging by the small giggle he heard, it looked obvious as to he didn't know what that was.
"That right there is a Pokémon scanning device, it is yours to keep as it is part of the regulations that we give them to people who participate in the entrance exam, whether they win or lose." She explained to him, getting Ash to nod his head in understanding, "This allows you to check your Pokémon's moves and ability, it's almost like a Pokedex but a prototype of the real thing." The clerk said with a small giggle.
"Thanks." Ash said gratefully, and pocketed the small device, "So, do I just choose a number, and leave this up to luck?" Ash asked as he pointed towards the different Poke Balls on the shelf.
The clerk seemed surprised and it showed on her face when she blinked a couple of times, and she looked at Ash with an indescribable stare.
"You want to use these Pokémon, even though that you know the risks?" She asked confused, she just saw Ash nod his head and continued to walk up towards the counter, basically leaning over it to get a better look at the small hints on the Poke Balls.
"Well, while it wasn't my plan to do so, I don't have a choice, really." He explained, a small embarrassed smile upon his face, "But, I believe that I want the experience to handle something that I haven't been a partner with for very long." He simply said.
A little bit of self-confidence couldn't hurt anybody.
"I see." The clerk simply said, nodding her head at Ash with a small smile on her face, "Well you can take your pick on any number." The clerk said getting back into a more professional nature.
Ash nodded his head; he used a bit of thinking time while carefully looking over the Poke Ball markings that determine the Pokémon in them.
Taking a deep breath, he decided upon the Poke Ball that he wanted to test his luck with, "Alright, can I please take Poke Ball number five?" Ash spoke out in a confident voice, clearly able to hold his nerve, especially when asking for something.
"Are you sure?" She asked, however, seeing Ash nod in response, she turned around and got the fifth Poke Ball from the shelf, and gently placed it down on the counter.
"Here you go, sir, Poke Ball number five." The clerk said with a small smile and a small but graceful bow at the hip.
"Thank you." He spoke out, taking the Poke Ball in hand, before giving it a small once over. From what he could see, it had this bug-like design on it, meaning that whatever was in this ball, was a Bug-type Pokemon.
Not exactly the easiest type to use, as it was at a disadvantage most of the time, plus, it was also very hard to tell what sort of Pokemon it could be, as there were a lot of Bug-type Pokemon in the world.
It could be anything from a Beedrill, to a Scizor. You just never knew until you let the Pokemon out of the Poke Ball.
With that, Ash gave one more smile towards the clerk behind the counter, before he started to make his way down the hallway, and into a room in which he would have to wait until his name was called.
There was no point going back up the stairs and doing that large journey, just for his name to get called halfway.
Coming into the spare room, he instantly noticed that it was rather spacious and plain white in color, but it also had different entrances to the battlefield, with a large number above each doorway to help whoever was in here differentiate each entrance to the battlefield.
But, he also noticed that he was the only one within the room, giving him the large spacious room to himself.
Looking down at the Poke Ball in hand, he couldn't help but to allow a nervous smile upon his face.
It was time to let whatever Pokemon was within the Poke Ball out, so that he could see what he was working with.
However, before he could do so, the announcement system blared to life once more.
"Ash Ketchum has chosen Poke Ball number five from the Rental Service."
As the announcement went off, he couldn't help but give a small sweat drop. Whilst he would rather have that remain a secret, he soon came to understand that it was to help the judge that he would be battling, to prepare him to have a stronger Pokemon, as the rental service Pokemon were probably that much tougher compared to a normal Pokemon that a trainer might be taking into the exam.
Plus, it was still the facilities Pokemon, so it was probably best that a loud reminder would be blaring into the system, in case someone decided to try and knick off with the Pokemon that didn't even belong to them.
"Oh well…" He murmured out, before looking at the Poke Ball in hand. It was time to meet his Pokemon partner for this exam, "Come on out!" He called out, throwing the Poke Ball in the air.
Almost instantly, a large flash of white appeared, and soon started to slowly form the shape of the Pokemon that would be his partner for this battle, and soon enough, the glowing light faded, revealing it in all of its glory.
As Ash looked towards the figure that came out of the Poke Ball, he was met with a very creepy Pokémon, that even gave him a bit of chills running down his back.
It has a red body with black stripes and markings on its rear that form a face. In the center of its head is a small, white horn. Additionally, it also has small purple eyes and a pair of white mandibles. The creature has four yellow legs with purple stripes; long, pointed growths on its back appear to be remnants of its fifth and sixth legs. It stood at about 3'07", making it a very, very large creepy crawly that could easily give someone nightmares if they had a fear of spiders.
"Ariados… creepy." Ash said, with a slight murmur towards the end hoping that the Pokémon didn't hear him.
"Ari? Dos." The Pokémon spoke out creepily as it blinked and was looking at the place it was in, the way it moved was very creepy, even walking up the walls and started shooting little webs out of its body to support itself.
Ash pointed towards the Ariados with the device, and he was surprised with how it looked.
Ariados
Female
Swarm
Bug Bite, Poison Jab, String Shot, Toxic, Infestation
"Here, girl." Ash spoke out towards the Ariados, who heard him and looked at him weirdly, either in curiosity or in surprise at him knowing its gender, it didn't see the object in Ash's hands.
It crawled its way back down to the ground via a String Shot that was launched towards the ground, and carefully went over to Ash.
Ash slowly knelt down a little, bringing himself closer to the height of the arachnid Pokemon, he cautiously took his hand out in an open palmed fashion and carefully put it atop of the Ariados' head and pet it.
"Aria!" The Ariados cried out in happiness with its eyes closed, seemingly putting her head closer to the hand and nuzzling into it. Like a very big and creepy kitten.
"I'll be sure to use you well Ariados." He spoke out softly to the Pokemon, getting to give a little cheer of delight as it nodded its head, before holding up the Poke Ball yet again, "Return." Ash spoke out once again, this time, the Pokemon was enveloped in a red beam as it was returned to its Poke Ball.
Ash looked towards the webs that Ariados spat out, they were now fading away into nothingness in a blink of an eye.
"Ash Ketchum, please report to the main battlefield!" The announcement system called out once again, "I repeat, Ash Ketchum, please report to the main battlefield."
Ash heard the announcement, he nodded to himself and looked around the room, trying to see the main entrance towards the main battlefield. He found it in the middle of the room at the back.
Straightening out all his clothing and fixing his hat, he proceeded to confidently walk towards the battlefield through the unique entrance of the room.
Making his way out onto the main battlefield, he saw that there were plenty of trees around the sides but had lots of space dominating most of the battlefield.
'Perfect for Ariados, what luck.' Ash thought to himself as he waited for his tester to take to the field. Although the only thing that disturbed him was that when he took a glance up, he could see, and even feel dozens of eyes on him.
It made him a little uncomfortable, having never been in the eyesight of so many people, but it would be one of those things he needed to get over. Especially if he wanted to become a Pokemon Master!
On the top row of the stands, stood Jimmy, in his new get-up which consisted of a deep blue jacket with some aqua trimmings along the edges and still had his previous outfit on underneath, barring the jacket, the jacket had a logo, which was on the breast pocket, and it consisted of the letter K written and curved through the letter A with a Poke Ball surrounding it.
The logo for Kobukan Academy.
"Let's see if he can do this." Jimmy spoke out suddenly, as he saw the test administrator enter the field, dressed in white and black, with a black jacket that had a white zipper, and small white trimmings, and some black dress pants and brown dress shoes.
"You know this kid Jimmy?" Asked a female beside him, he looked briefly towards the girl and she was wearing her deep blue jacket done up and had an aqua blue skirt that ended just above her knees and had deep blue pockets near the waistline.
The girl was Marina, who was of medium height, and was rather slim in figure. She has long teal-blue hair tied in low bunches behind her ears and spiked bangs at the front, dark eyes and pale peach skin.
"I'm sure Marina, I think there is something special with Ash." He spoke out to her, "The way he walks, and even looks speaks values of how he is. Even though he has a rental Pokemon, and has only known it for a short while, I do believe that is completely confident in himself."
"Interesting." A quiet and monotone voice spoke out from behind Jimmy and Marina, they both were spooked and saw that it was another girl who radiated an aura of coldness.
She was wearing the same deep blue jacket, but it was opened, showing her purple undershirt that clung mostly to her chest region, she was also wearing white long pants and pinkish-red shoes.
"Uhm, who are you?" Jimmy and Marina asked simultaneously, whilst both looking at each other and looked away blushing, a little bit of embarrassment as the two childhood friends spoke out in unison.
"All you need to know is I'm Sabrina." Sabrina replied in her normal monotone voice that could creep anyone out in a dark place.
"Nice to meet you Sabrina, but what is interesting?" Marina asked whilst Jimmy looked back towards the battlefield while the test administrator was explaining the rules.
"Ash Ketchum." She started, "He is... interesting." That was all she said before leaving to get a better vantage point, leaving a dumbstruck Marina who soon relayed the information to Jimmy.
"Ash Ketchum. I welcome you to the battle exams!" The tester spoke out, "I will be your tester today, but since you chose the Rental Service, I shall use a tougher Pokémon, and you will lose a few marks for using a Pokémon that isn't your own!" The balding man said with a blank face and had his eyes hid behind some dark sunglasses.
Ash was left stunned, he didn't know that there was a penalty for using rental Pokémon, he thought it would have gained more attention and maybe higher marks.
Maybe that was a little selfish to think about though.
Simply nodding his head in understanding, he waited for the man to continue talking and explaining the battle rules.
"It will be a one-on-one battle. The winner will be the person with Pokémon still be able to fight, if it happens to be a draw, then our teachers will run over the footage and finally reply to your entrance on whether you pass or fail." As soon as he said that, a referee started to approach the middle of the field, and off to the side near the edge if the Poke Ball symbol on the field.
The balding man took a Poke Ball from his belt and revealed the Pokémon in a bright flash of white.
"Dodrio, come on out!" The man said before releasing the Pokemon from the Poke Ball, out of the bright white flash came a large, wingless, three-headed avian Pokémon.
Each head has a long, sharp beak and a black feathered, V-shaped crest. It has bristly brown feathers covering its heads and upper body, while its lower half has a smooth layer of black feathers. Its wingless body rests on two long and slender, but powerful legs with feet that have three clawed toes in front and one in back.
"Trio!" Dodrio exclaimed and started rapidly moving the three heads around but the middle one was staring directly at Ash.
'Dodrio, well this won't work for Ariados, but it needs to happen! I might be at a disadvantage, but I truly believe that we can pull this off.' Ash thought to himself, before pulling out his Poke Ball, and with a call of, "Ariados, I choose you!" He threw the Poke Ball into the air, and with a bright flash of white, Ariados appeared on the battlefield.
"Aria!" It cried out, showing no fear at being in front of a Flying-type Pokemon, all it was showing was a raw determination burning in its eyes to win this battle.
Back in the stands, although this time on the other side that Jimmy was in, there were a few other students watching on, some in interest, some in disinterest as they thought that this battle was over already, thanks to Ariados' massive weakness to Flying-type Pokemon.
However, there was one student watching on in keen interest, although it was mainly her eyes that were glued onto the Ariados and its temporary trainer.
This student was standing up, having her hands on the railing to support herself as she looked down on the battlefield, while she stood a little shorter than most, only standing at 5'1, she still had this charm about her.
She has long yellow-blonde hair that was tied in a ponytail with a layered fringe at the front, and she also had a slim build for a female, and she was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt under a yellow tunic dress that is edged with green, blue tights and purple ankle boots. Her eyes are a dark greenish-yellow. However, over the yellow tunic dress she wears her Kobukan Academy jacket over her shoulders.
Which was also the same color as her tunic dress, except a bit darker, and with golden trimmings, showing that she got sorted into Raikou Yellow.
"I'm impressed." She spoke out, with a very soft and clear voice, "This Ash person, seems to have built a very strong bond with his rental Pokemon." She spoke out once again, with a hint of happiness in her undertone as she witnessed a bond that strong in such a short amount of time.
"He is special, just like you Yellow." Spoke a more deep and masculine voice that held a bit of arrogance in it from beside her, she didn't need to look to know who that was, she could already tell by the voice of who it was.
The girl now known as Yellow nodded her head briefly but kept her rapt attention Ash's battle.
"You are right, Gary, I can sense something from the air around him, and it seems to have a calming effect on the surrounding Pokémon." Yellow spoke out softly, showing she was quite shy when speaking about other people who might have different talents.
The boy, now known as Gary has spiky auburn hair and black eyes that were shining in self-confidence, bordering on full on arrogance. He wears a black collared shirt, purple cargo pants, a black necklace with a lavender bead, purple wristbands, a light gray fanny pack, and black sneakers, he also had his blue Kobukan Academy jacket – showing he was in Suicune Blue - zipped up halfway to his chin, so you could see his shirt underneath.
"It's just a shame that our bond was broken, by something so petty." Gary muttered to himself, however, Yellow had overheard it, and she turned her attention to him.
She tilted her head confusedly at Gary and blinked a couple of times, "What do you mean?" She asked with a metaphorical question mark bubble appearing above her head.
Gary gave it a small shrug, "When we were kids, we used to be friends, but after an incident regarding an old, rusted Poke Ball, it caused a shift to happen, and we were never really close after that." Gary spoke out with a small sigh at the end, "Petty, I know, but we were kids, and we didn't know better… then, we just… grew apart."
"Oh…" She spoke out, "Well, I hope things can work out again." She said, rather cheerfully, showing her to be a rather optimistic girl.
Gary sighed and continued, "When you grow up with said person, and know him like I used to, he is known to hold grudges for a very long time." He spoke out somberly as if he was remembering all the good times they had together when they were younger.
"Ariados, I choose you!" They both heard Ash yell out and released his Poke Ball from his hand.
Gary turned around and watched with a keen eye as he saw the Pokémon appear from a bright white light.
In another part of the stands, Jimmy and Marina, they were both cheering for Ash, well… Jimmy more so than Marina.
"Woohoo! Go Ash!" Jimmy shouted out which caused more than a few sets of eyes to watch him with some confusion, but mostly amusement.
Jimmy suddenly fell face first to the ground with a massive bump forming on his head and had swirls in his eyes.
"Idiot." Marina spoke out bluntly and had her hand clenched in a fist and was above where Jimmy once stood, showing she did the massive blow towards him.
"Please ignore him." She spoke out, looking at the few sets of eyes that fell upon them before, "He's... special." Marina spoke out after trying to find the correct word to describe her childhood friend.
The people did just that, turning their attention away from the looney people and back to the battle that was going on.
Jimmy popped up and got really close to Marina's face and spoke in an agitated tone and even had a slightly agitated expression judging by the slight tick mark appearing on his forehead, "I'm not special!" He vehemently denied, "I'm just cheering for a friend I made earlier today!" Jimmy spoke out comically and quickly jolted away and leant over the balcony to get a closer look.
"Oh yeah?" Marina questioned, her eyes lighting up as she embarked upon her next question, "What do you know about him, if he is your 'friend'" Marina asked in a condescending tone of voice and walked closer to Jimmy and stayed away from the metal rails.
"Uhh…" He begun, but then suddenly snapped his fingers as he looked back to her, "He is fifteen years old! And he got invited to the Academy by Professor Oak!" Jimmy spoke up proudly, with a smile like he just won the million Poke dollar lottery.
"You are hopeless." Marina spoke out bluntly, shaking her head in an exasperated fashion.
Jimmy was about to retort to that statement but was interrupted by Ash himself.
"Ariados, I choose you!"
In a flash of white light, Ariados's body was seen forming on the field.
Ariados looked around and she soon felt many eyes on her, however, they didn't seem to bother her, as instead, she locked eyes with the large avian Pokemon and gave a shrill cry, raising her mandibles in the air and clicking them once, signifying her eagerness to battle.
"Ariados vs Dodrio, begin." The referee shouted out as he took a couple of steps back to watch the battle from a safe distance.
"Alright, Ariados! Start off with a String Shot!" Ash commanded out to his Pokemon for the day. Ariados halted for a swift moment, her entire body shivering as a small ball of thread started to form between its mandibles, and soon, it gave a shrill cry as it shot the massive ball of threat towards the Dodrio.
As soon as they large ball of thread was within the air, the air pressure caused it to unravel, revealing a large, web-like pattern that soon tangled itself up on the Pokemon, with a few, strong, silky webs tangling around the Pokemon's feet.
"Use your beak to destroy the webbing on your feet!" That was all the man told the Dodrio, and instead of cringing and dancing about like a headless-chicken, the Dodrio gave a rather mean look towards the Ariados as it started pecking away at the webbing, causing some loose strands of web to scatter in the small breeze.
"Good." The man murmured out, before pointing in the direction of Ash and the Ariados, "Now, Drill Peck!" As soon as the command was heard by the large flightless avian Pokemon, all three beaks on the Dodrio glowed a bright white and the Dodrio became a spinning tri-drill of heads and Ash was caught off guard by the sheer speed that the bird possessed.
It was so fast in fact, that before Ash could even shout a command to dodge, Ariados was struck head on, with the large drill attack going directly into the thorax of the large spider Pokemon.
"Damnit." Ash muttered to himself, mentally berating himself for not being any quicker, "Ariados, shake it off, and use Toxic!"
Giving a slightly weaker shrill cry, Ariados' body was soon covered in a deep, purple miasma that just reeked of pain and suffering.
"Quick, dodge!" The man called out, not wanting to get hit with an attack that essentially made the battle a ticking time bomb.
Without wasting another moment, Dodrio gave a trilling cry, before it started to run away, using its surperior ground speed to get away from the spider Pokemon.
"Not so fast, Ariados, String Shot! Bring it in!" Ash quickly commanded.
"Aria!" Giving a cry as it followed her temporary trainer's orders, the harsh, purple miasma continued to radiate off of its body, however, with a display of skill that was rarely seen in Pokemon, it started to charge up its String Shot.
"What!? A double move!?" The man yelled out in shock. Never in all of his years of teaching and doing these examinations had he ever seen anyone pull of an extraordinarily challenging move.
"Dos!" Shooting out another large ball of threat from its mandibles, the aim of Ariados was true, as it expanded largefully before fully enveloping the flightless Avian Pokemon in large, sticky webs.
"Trio!" With a sharp, shrill cry as the Pokemon was entangled within another complex layer of webs, it tried its best to use its sharpened claws to gain anything upon the ground, however, the sheer strength and willpower alone was not enough to stop it, as it inched ever closer to the Ariados, as its large eyes gleamed in delight at seeing its prey so close.
Yet, it looked like he was about to experience it firsthand!
"Now!" Ash yelled, bringing his hand up and making a fist to show his excitement.
"Aria~" With a sharp cry, Ariados let loose a barrage of toxic purple tendrils that wrapped around the encassed Dodrio, pulling it even closer to its awaiting doom.
Once in striking distance, Ariados' mandibles extended out, before the purple miasma built up around them. Then, with frightening speed, it bit down onto the Dodrio's encased body, making give a loud cry of pain as it thrashed about, trying to knock the Ariados off it's body.
But once again, the power within the bite of the Ariados proved to be too strong for the avian Pokemon to knock off.
The man seemed to look a little shaken up, a light layer of sweat appearing on his forehead as he looked at the quiet gruesome sight before him, "Dodrio, use Drill Peck to get away!" He called out.
With the command heard, the Dodrio once again opened its eyes, showing a burning determination to get away from its predicament.
Once again turning into a living drill, it managed to break away from the trap that it had been stumbled upon, before it raced away, kicking up lots of dirt and dust to try and hinder the Ariados' sight.
However, seeing that, Ash merely chuckled, something which was heard by the examination man, "What is so funny boy?" The man said, a little peeved at the disrespect being shown towards him.
"You fell into my trap." Ash simply said, before looking at Ariados, "Ariados, jump up high and use Poison Jab!" He called out.
"What?" The man questioned, obviously confused. However, moments later his eyes widened as he saw the reason why Ash was chuckling.
As the Drill Pecking Dodrio made its way back, it had fallen into yet another trap! Only this time, there were large, looming branches above the Pokemon. Something that Ariados can easily take advantage of!
Giving a trill of victory, Ariados formed another web, and shot it towards a thick, overhanging branch, where it soon hung upside down, her eyes landing upon the drilling Dodrio that rushed over closer to her, "Ariados! Poison Jab!" With Ariados' mandibles now covered in a nasty, purplish hue, it broke away from the webbing that it had created for itself, using gravity to help with its momentum and power.
"Dos!"
"Trio! Trio!"
As the plume of purplish energy finally dissipated, everyone could see that Ariados was standing on top of the downed form of Dodrio, looking ever so proud of itself as it clicked its mandibles in happiness.
"Drio..." Was all the Pokémon said before it flopped to the ground, all six of its eyes gaining swirls in them as it kicked up a small dust cloud.
"Dodrio is unable to battle. Ariados wins the battle!" The referee called out, pointing the flag downwards, and then using his free flag, he pointed in Ash's direction, "Ash Ketchum has passed the final examination!"
"Good job, Ariados!" Ash called out to his exhausted Pokémon, Ariados, hearing the praise that she was getting from Ash, quickly scurried off the downed Dodrio, allowing it to be returned to its Poke Ball.
As Ariados quickly skittered upon the ground, it soon came to a halt, just before Ash and looked up at him, her eyes wide and shining as she clicked her mandibles, "Aria?"
Unable to hide his smile, Ash gently kneeled upon the ground, closer to Ariados' height, "You did amazing, girl." He praised her gently, running his hand down the back of her head, "I'm proud of you." He murmured out.
Hearing even more praise, Ariados was unable to hide her glee as she leaped upon Ash, covering most of his upper body as she clicked her mandibles happily, using her front legs to support herself as she leaned down.
However, that also had the adverse effect of causing a few ticklish sensations to fall upon Ash, "Ariados~ Quit it!" He whined out, trying his best to squirm away from the large spider Pokemon.
Hearing the chuckles coming closer to him, Ash paused what he was doing, gently grabbing hold of Ariados' front legs, and doing his best to get away from the looming mandibles that were clicking with sheer excitement. And, as he tilted his head, he noticed the examiner coming closer to him, the Dodrio's Poke Ball attached to a small little necklace, and he was gently clapping at his downed opponent, "Congratulations, young man." He said earenstly. He offered a simple smile, and rubbed his balding head, "Welcome to Kobukan Academy."
Despite himself, Ash couldn't help but grin happily at hearing that sentence once again.
END CHAPTER 1
So, Ash is yet to be placed, I might have him be 'Moltres Red', as a bit of a downgrade, due to him using a Rental Mon, rather than his own Pokemon. In Yu-Gi-Oh GX, I remember there is two roommates, so, who will be the lucky two?
For Harem, it is yet to be decided, so you guys can leave suggestions in the comments - it can literally be anyone, any generation, Kanto to Paldea. HOWEVER, this is going to be a longer fic, Ecchi Moments and such, not straight out smut. Character development, drama and such will be abound, so please, do be detailed with everything! What drives their relationship? How do they meet/how they get along? When they get comfortable, how do they act 'round each other?
Some characters will be flat out rude, annoying, and dickish, while others are standoffish, and might be more than they seem.
If you want to contribute to the plot, or want to leave ideas for future chapters, please do let me know! I'm always open, and willing to listen to ideas!
