Chapter 1 - Welcome to Lakewood Academy

Ash sighed tiredly to himself, he tried his very best to keep his eyes open as he looked out of the planes window. However, all that he could see was the vast, open sky, with large, fluffy clouds and a small smatteing of Avian Pokemon, mainly of the Wingull and Pelipper species, and underneath all of that, all he could see was the vast ocean, yet, being situated thousands of feet in the air, it was too high to even begin seeing the details of the ocean, or the rolling waves beneath, or catch sight of a fish Pokemon.

'Man... how did Mom get enough money to send me here?' Ash thought to himself, resting his chin upon his palm. He tried, and tried to think about how that might've been the case, but no matter how hard he thought about, or the vast, endless possibilities, nothing was coming to the forefront of his mind, 'A more... normal education would've been fine... but no... she had to send me to a Boarding School... in a completely different region!'

Now, whilst Ash may not've been the most... social person ever - mainly due to the fact that Pallet Town didn't have that many residents, nor children his age - and for his love for video games, but he still would've much rather be going to school in the Kanto region, a region in which he grew up in, and had a solid understanding of said region, and still be semi-close to his dear mother - yes, sue him, he was a Mama's boy at heart - and not going to a completely different region, not knowing much about it.

The worst part was the fact that it was a BOARDING SCHOOL! He had to LIVE there for the semesters, and possibly even the Holidays should he be unable to pay for travel expenses back to Kanto!

"Attention passengers, we will be landing in Geshana region within twenty minutes. The weather in Vluiton City is clear, and comfortably sunny." The pilot spoke out, "As we begin our descent, we ask of you to make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened, and all electronic devices are off." if you could please put your seatbelts back on, that would be greatly appreciated." A few moments passed without anything spoken, before the pilot spoke once more, "Thank you for choosing Air Swellow, and we hope that you come back to us soon." With another small anouncement ringing out, there was a sudden *ding* as the speakers turned off, before smaller, much more annoying *bings* and *dings* started to ring out, causing Ash to look up slightly, and saw the red seatbelt button flashing red, signifying that it was time to buckle up.

Something that he did rather grudgingly. Having a seatbelt wrapped around yourself in an airplane was rather annoying, plus the material was very, very strong and it actually dug into his skin through his clothing if he wore it for too long.

But, he did presume that safety was better than his own personal comfort...

So now, all he had to do was wait for the next twenty minutes until they touched down onto the runway, and Ash would finally be able to take his very first steps in a new region.

Stepping outside of the airport after what seemed like hours after waiting for his luggage - whcih was one large suitcase, with more smaller bags strapped to it via handy-dandy zip-ties, and a bit of tape, Ash looked outside, almost in complete shock as he gazed around the massive city.

'Arceus...' He thought to himself, tilting his body forward as he peered down what seemed to be a bustline mainstreet, lined with many, many highrise buildings, billboards and other bright signage everywhere, and tehre were people everywhere too, in fact, all that he could hear was the shuffling of footsteps upon the pavement, sounds of cars travelling about, and the occassional chatter from a passerby! It was so much to take in all at once, and he could feel his heart thumping in his chest as his body struggled to handle the sheer sensory overload, 'This place is massive! Probably even larger than Celadon City, and Saffron City combined!'

Taking a few deep breaths through his mouth, and exhaling out of his nose, a frown soon marred Ash's face as something came over him, 'How... how do I make it to Lakewood Academy?' He thought to himself, 'My mom didn't even tell me that information... all she said was something about a bus taking me there... but where is the bus stop?'

He didn't even know what the Academy looked like itself, and there was certainly no signage about leading him to believe that it would be in any which direction.

Shaking his head clear of those thoughts, he took another deep breath, clutched at the handle of his wheely suitcase, before he started to stroll forward, trying his best to ignore the large, bright signs that seemed to litter the very street.

Perhaps if he couldn't find a bus stop nearby... perhaps it would be best to try and talk to someone nearby...

"Great..." Ash muttered to himself despairingly, "I'm already lost in this new region..." He gave a deep sigh of annoyance as one hand raised to his nose as he started rubbing it, trying to soothe his frazzled nerves, "Why can't things be simple... like they were in Pallet Town... why does a city have to be so complicated..."

He spent what felt like the past hour or so just trying to find a Lickitung of a hint about the whereabouts of a bus stop, or even a bus station - or hell, even Lakewood Academy! - but everything had been so overwhelming that he just couldn't find anything! Nobody was even coming over to help him either, apparently the city folk were way too stuck up, or self-important to even dare think about helping a tourist - well... foriegner - out.

What started as shock and awe, was quickly replaced by absolute dread that could be smelt from miles away, and a sense of despair as he was lost in a new region, with nobody he knew around him, and without the help of his mother.

Why did the world hate him at the moment?

Questions that would never be answered.

Groaning in annoyance, Ash spotted a metal bench, and as soon as he gazed at it, he could feel his legs aching for a rest, and he could feel his arm start to go numb from pulling a large, heavy suitcase around in the blazing sun for the past hour or so.

"Maybe I just need to sit down, and regather myself..."

With that said, Ash simply plopped himself down onto the bench, groaning slightly as he landed just a bit too hard upon the hard surface, and pain raced through his bottom, and he quickly placed his suitcase between his legs, and just stared ahead of himself.

Minutes past, and all that Ash could do was just stare at the busy main street, watching as cars drove by, stopped at the red lights, then start up once more as the lights turned green. At the same time, droves of people wearing business attire strode by him, even not paying attention to him, or taking some minor glances at him, but simply ignoring him.

Sighing to himself, Ash leaned his head back on the metal seating, before closing his eyes.

"Excuse me."

Suddenly snapping awake, Ash yelped slightly as his body lurched forward upon instinct. He quickly looked left and right, to see who talked to him, however, he soon spotted someone sitting next to him, and he gulped slightly as he gazed at her.

This woman... seemed to have some serious quirks. She had spiked blonde hair that was shaved to one side, and her ears had large piercings, her eyebrows had piercings upon them, and even her nose also had a few little studs that glinted in the light. And add on to that appearance, she also seemed to have a black leather biker jacket that that had 'spikes' jutting from the zipper, and ripped jeans that were more faded gray than blue, and she wore some rather edgy looking sneakers.

However, his interest spiked massively when he noticed a rather interesting belt wrapped unevenly around her waist, keeping her jeans up. The belt had little holes in them, but those holes contained Poke Balls within them. Two Poke Balls, and a Dusk Ball to be precise.

'So... she is a Pokemon trainer...' He thought to himself, quickly glancing away from her middle, lest he be routed as a good for nothing pervert. And as he looked back at her face, he noticed those eyes of hers, and that staunch face.

She looked very scary. However, her eyes were currently gleaming with amusement as she held back her chuckles as she witnessed the 'dimwit' before her.

Clearing his throat, a light blush upon his face, Ash spoke, "Y-yes?"

"What's the problem, bud?" She asked, although it wasn't in an overly friendly manner, but at the same time, wasn't exactly... harsh.

Ash took a few moments to have an inner debate to himself. His mother did say to never talk to strangers... but... well, now was a time to simply ignore that life lesson, "Just lost..."

"Yes, I can see that." She said, chuckling softly, she raised her hands behind her head, and peered at him through one eye, "Lemme guess... you ain't a native of Geshana?"

He nodded his head mutely, his blush only deepening when he heard her chuckling. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed her put one leg up over the other, and leaned back on the bench.

"So... where are you headed?" She asked, "If I'm feeling nice, I might help."

Ash's eyes lit up, and he quickly took upon her offer of possible help, "Well... I'm looking for Lakewood Academy." He said, before chuckling embarrassedly, and rubbing the back of his neck, "I kinda... don't know where it is... or even what it looks like..." He said, although he whispered that last part.

The woman looked at him weirdly, before she covered her mouth, and a loud, unwomanly snort ripped from her nose. Then, the chuckles began, before they soon evolved into a full blown guffaw as she slapped her leg, "Hehehe... really!?" She said, looking at him with sheer astonishment, "You... you don't know what the Academy looks like? And you are somehow enrolled there!?"

Ash frowned at her, but he simply nodded his head.

That simple action all but caused her laughter to deepen as more snorts ripped free from her.

It took a while for her to calm down, and she quickly wiped tears away from her eyes with her ringed fingers, "Oh that's fucking rich!" She said, before taking a deep breath to compose herself once more before looking at him, and sent him a lopsided smile, "Listen, kid, Lakewood Academy is about half-an-hour thataway." She said, pointing ahead in the general direction, "And that's via transport... walking... maybe about an hour and a bit."

"Oh..." Ash deflated. He didn't have enough money on him to afford a cab, and he really didn't like being on a bus all that much, it stank to much, and it was loud and cramped on them. But there was simply no way he was walking that far with a heavy suitcase lugging behind him constantly, "Well... could you help point me in the right direction to a bus stop... or a train station?"

"Sure, the least I could do to help a poor lost tourist~" She jested, rather rudely mind you, before she wrapped her arm around his shoulder and brought him in closer. Yet, despite the current situation, Ash gently bit upon his bottom lip as he felt his body pressing into her own.

'Stop it, brain!' He yelled mentally, clenching his eyes shut as he felt his body give a natural reaction to this sort of contact, 'Think gross thoughts... think gross thoughts...' Then, an image of a shirtless Professor Oak appeared within his mind, and his body shuddered at that mental image, throughly killing off any 'mood' that could've arisen.

"Right over there." She said, positioning herself in such a way that her index finger was pointing towards the bus bay, completely unsheltered, and unsigned, about three or so streets down, "If you are in luck, then a bus might take you before nightfall..."

Ash bit upon his bottom lip, before nodding his head, "Thank you..." He said softly, flashing a rather embarrassed, yet sincere smile towards the gothic-looking woman.

The woman simply grinned, revealing that she actually had a golden tooth that gleamed in the light, "Don't mention it." She patted him on the shoulder, almost teasingly, before she groaned as she got up from the seat, "Good luck~" She said, giving him a wave before striding off into the distance, her hands resting in her pockets.

Watching her walk off, he soon lost her within the mingling crowd that somehow never died down. Shaking his head, Ash grabbed hold of his suitcase before groaning as he stood up, wincing slightly as his muscles begged him to sit back down.

But he couldn't now.

He needed to get to that bus stop.

Sighing softly to himself, Ash slowly made his way down the street, and slowly getting closer to the un-signed, unsheltered bus stop... hopefully there were still buses that were going to Lakewood Academy...

END CHAPTER

If y'all wanna contribute to this story, by all means, leave some ideas down in the comments!

When it concerns students, teachers and other characters, I'm planning to have a mix and match type thing going on, so some characters may be students. Other characters may be Teachers/Professors, and some may be other characters that aren't students, nor Professors.

Concerning Dorms, it's gonna be a two person set up, much like in the game 'Pokemon Academy Life' in which is a heavy inspiration from this! So, you can decide who will be Ash's roommate for this - they'll be stuck together in a living space, so keep that in mind. Doesn't have to be a guy, could be a girl, but better have a damn good reason!

It's gonna be Harem - don't complain - so, if you want, you can leave some ideas, along with a reasonably development route with Ash and said female character! Be detailed, not just 'Have Ash with _'.
