Author's note: I do not own Closers. Also, this is based on the winter voice drama. Also, characters may be a bit ooc.
Beta read by a mysterious person.
"Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" a person yelled.
Right now, UNION was on a relief campaign as the civil war within the ranks of UNION was over when Omega Knight was defeated along with Jina Grace. Not only that, but the head of UNION, who is now known as a traitor, was on the run.
It's Christmas right now, and UNION sent out its members in groups to help the citizens of Busan recover from the damages of the dimensional war along with recent events. Earlier, members of CLOSERS were out giving gifts to children…but not in the normal way.
Rather, they sent out gifts to people's houses in the form of a gift-giving competition.
Currently, Seha Lee, one of the members who was a part of the competition, was taking a break playing on his video game console as he was done delivering gifts to people's houses while greeting them at the same time. "Haah…I am so tired right now…" he thought to himself as he was mashing buttons on his game. "Ah! A rare item! And it's for the character I need! This is useful!"
As Seha continued to play, he did not notice that someone was watching him afar. That someone is Mirae, one of the members of Rattus team.
"Seha…he doesn't seem to be busy, and since I am not busy as well…maybe I should talk with him…" she thought to herself as she went over to the bench Seha was sitting on and took the remaining space for herself.
He didn't notice her since he was too focused on his game. Wanting to get his attention, Mirae tapped him on the shoulder and called his name. "Seha?"
As she did, Seha paused the game for a moment and turned. "Mirae?"
"Yes, Seha. Are you alright? You look like you saw something frightening."
Seha let out a small sigh. "Sorry, I just thought you were Sylvi," he said before he went back to playing. "What are you doing here?"
"Me? Well…since I'm done with giving out the presents…I figured I might look at the night sky for a moment," Mirae replied.
"I see…" he said as he looked at her before turning back to his screen. As he kept playing, Mirae began looking at the night sky. She was mesmerized by the stars in the sky.
"Wow. To think the night sky can be like this…it's nothing like the one on the island…"
After a few minutes, Seha put his game away. As he did, he noticed Mirae, who was still stargazing. "Hm…Mirae seems to be enjoying looking at the stars…" he thought to himself before he began to do the same thing as well. "Wah, tonight's stars seem to light up brightly…"
For a moment, the two did not say anything as they were focused on looking at the stars. Then Mirae decided to break the silence.
"The stars…are pretty tonight," Mirae said.
"Yeah. It's hard to believe that during the dimensional war, something like this still exists," Seha replied as he was stargazing.
"Mm…" Mirae muttered. "Hey, Seha. Can I ask you something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"Well…I understand that we are handing out gifts to people for Christmas, but what is Christmas? Considering that people are celebrating it, does it mean it is special?"
Seha chuckled for a bit. "Yes. And about how it is special…well, I am not an expert on this, but I think it is special because it allows people around the world to spend time with either their family or friends and give gifts to each other."
"I see."
The two continued to look at the stars before Seha decided to go back to his game console again. As he was playing it, Mirae heard the sounds coming from the console and glanced at it. For a moment, she was interested in it. "Hey Seha, what is that?"
"Hm? Ah, this? This is a video game console. You know, the one Sylvi and Eunha threatened to destroy if I slack off," Seha replied.
"Really? They threatened to destroy that small thing? Why?" Mirae asked as she got closer to Seha to get a closer look at the game console, making him blush for a moment.
"Well…how about I show you," Seha said as he continued to play his video game. Immediately, Mirae watched him play with mounting interest.
"Hey, when you are done with that level…can I try it?" Mirae asked politely.
"Hmm…sure. Give me a few seconds, I'm almost done with this boss fight," Seha replied. "Come on…almost there…and yes! Phew! That's over." After a few seconds of saving his progress, he then gave his video game console to Mirae. "Here."
Mirae then grabbed the game console and looked at it with wonder in her eyes. "So this is what you have been playing…um, how do I play it?"
"Well, it's actually simple. Move the character with those buttons over there on the left," Seha said as he pointed at said buttons. "The buttons on the right let the character jump and attack. The button on the left is the jump button while the button on the right is the attack button."
"I see, and I suppose the goal is to reach the end of the level?" Mirae asked as she was starting to get it.
"Yes. Although I would start off with level 1. To make it easy for you."
Soon, Mirae chose level 1 and started to play. Immediately, she was mesmerized at the tiny screen in front of her. "Wow. So this is a video game console…it's like looking at a different world," she thought to herself. For a few minutes, she was going through the level with ease, although Seha did give her some tips on clearing the monsters in the game.
"Right here. Get that item box," Seha instructed.
"Mm. Thank you," Mirae replied. It was then a warning sign appeared on the screen. "Hm? Warning?"
"Ah, the boss is here."
"Boss? You mean something big is coming soon? That means I have to beat it to clear the level, right?"
"Exactly."
Immediately, a giant monster appeared on the screen of Seha's game console. For a moment, Mirae slightly gulped before moving on to the boss fight.
"Tch, this is quite tough…and this is only the first level…"
"Good job Mirae. You're almost there. Just a few more hits," Seha encouraged.
After hearing Seha's words, Mirae felt like she was not going to lose and continued to fight the boss. After a few minutes, the boss was almost out of health. "Alright, this is the end!" she thought to herself as she mashed the attack button a few times, beating the boss. "I…I did it. I beat the boss monster."
Seha let out a small smile. "Great job Mirae."
"Mm. Thank you," Mirae replied with a small smile on her face as well. For a moment, something sparked within her, and she felt like continuing. "Um…if you don't mind…can I play it again?"
"Hm? Sure."
And then, Mirae played again, with help from Seha of course.
(Meanwhile, behind a corner of a nearby building…)
"See. I told you so. The real winners are Seha and Mirae," Eunha said as she was looking at the aforementioned pair from afar.
And she was not alone.
"Wow. To think Seha was capable of something like this…and I thought he would not allow other people to touch that thing," Sylvi said.
"Spying on Seha and Mirae…we shouldn't be doing this! It feels like we're invading their privacy!" Bai said.
"Shh. Be quiet. We don't want them to notice us," Tina said.
"Plus, this isn't spying. I just happened to look by and got interested in this," Eunha said.
.
"Oh~ To think something like this could happen…is this a flower of love blossoming in winter?" Ken said amusingly.
"Be quiet. He's just offering her to play his game," Pan replied.
(Back with Seha and Mirae…)
"Wow. That was quite fun. No wonder you're always playing," Mirae said.
"I know, right?" Seha replied.
For a moment, silence occurred between the two until Mirae decided to continue the conversation. "Hey Seha…there's something I want to ask."
"Sure. What is it?"
"Well…about what you said earlier during the competition…you would really let me win?" she asked with curiosity. "I mean, you were handing out gifts faster than me…"
"Ehe…to be fair, Eunha did sort of 'motivate' me a bit…" Seha said with a chuckle.
"True…but still, you would let me win? Why?"
"Well…the way you were handing out gifts to people while talking to them at the same time…it left a smile on my face. I feel like that was the right thing to do," he said with a blush on his face.
At that moment, Mirae was slightly stunned with Seha's words as she felt something warm going through her body. For a moment, Mirae did not know what to do or say, making Seha worried for a bit.
"Mirae, are you alright?" Seha asked.
"Mm…yeah, I'm fine…" Mirae replied.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah…um…Seha…if you don't mind…can I stay with you for a bit…like this?" Mirae asked.
For a moment, Seha did not say anything, making Mirae wonder if she was bothering him or something. Then Seha gave her his answer.
"Okay. You can sit with me."
Mirae had a soft smile on her face and rested her head on Seha's shoulder. "Ah, sorry about this."
Normally, Seha would be slightly embarrassed by Mirae's action. However, for some unknown reason, he was not…and instead, he let out a small smile as well as he let Mirae rest her head on his shoulder.
"It's fine."
And the two stayed like this, ignoring everything else besides them.
(Meanwhile, with the others…)
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, what is this development between those two?! And in a short amount of time?!" Sylvi said.
"See! I told you! Love blossoms anywhere at any time!" Ken said triumphantly.
"Shush! Be quiet! Don't ruin the moment!" Eunha whispered.
"Yeah. This is starting to get good," Tina said in agreement.
"I can't believe we are still doing this…" Bai muttered in disbelief.
"You're telling me," Pan said while letting out a sigh. "Just why did I join them…?"
