So this is going to be an angsty sort of outlet story, not all angst all the time but I think a dramatic opening is for the best in where I want to go with this. If you follow me for my works in the Harry Potter fandom, those will be getting back into circulation. I took a lot of time off due to family stuff and life stuff and I want to apologize for that. I am back and while I won't be in an immediate groove, I have that spark of creativity flowing once more and I want to let it out so lets all say it together people- THE KING IS BACK!
Cold purple eyes glared at the room before her, her face otherwise expressionless. She had been written off as an idiot for too long and now they wanted to pull this shit?! No, she was not going to allow it. She would sooner surrender her body to an enemy village to be killed or raped and bred for the rest of her life before she suffered this travesty of what was probably supposed to be some form of reparation by her father and mother.
"Care to repeat that last sentence Iruka-sensei?"
The brown haired chunin shivered, not that he was the only one it seemed as several students were shivering as well, as the room seemed to drop at least fifty degrees only a moment before. Of course he was aware why it had. He was aware of who had caused it and what the consequences could be if he actually repeated the words again. Unfortunately, he was mandated to have all the kids who passed the genin exam be informed of who their teammates were.
"Team 7, also marked on my paper as Team Uzumaki, consists of Menma Uzumaki-Namikaze, Sa-"
The whoosh of air made several people jump before the crash of steel embedding in slate pierced the air. No one dared to move as the person responsible for the action, hurling their headband with such deadly accuracy and force at the front of the classroom that it pierced the chalkboard slate and managed to crack it into two solid pieces while the headband was buried in the wall behind half way through the village symbol, stood and yanked open the window next to her. "I'd rather be de-limbed and kept as breeding stock by Iwa than have to start a kunoichi career with them" she hissed darkly. "I quit, I don't need that level of stress with them." As soon as she was done talking she was gone out the window.
Not even a moment after the girl was gone out the window, not to mention into a ball of violet flame summoned midair by three handsigns shocking many of her classmates, two puffs of smoke appeared in the classroom.
"Team Uzumaki-"
"The worthless loser quit mom. You and dad were right about her not having the right stuff to be a ninja" Menma, a spitting image of his father the Yondaime Hokage, said with a smarmy tone.
"We all knew she was worthless anyways. If she had any actual value, you and dad would have trained her with."
Menma turned and looked at his sister Sayaka with a flat start. Him, Sayaka and Naruko may be triplets and Naruko may be the first born but she was worthless. Their parents gave them special training, their godparents gave them special lessons and let them sign their summon contracts, they even had joint training with other clan children and what did the loser get? Nothing. She got nothing because that was her worth. She was lazy and stupid.
Kushina Uzumaki-Namikaze, Head of the Uzumaki clan within Hi no Kuni, frowned at the declaration by her son. Yes, they had trained the younger two of the triplets first but that was because they had the Kyuubi's chakra sealed within them. Yes, they had passed on Naruko's training temporarily until the younger of the triplets, bearing the Kyuubi's foul chakra, had the beginnings of a grasp of the demonic energy sealed within them. It was not just for the good of the younger triplets themselves but everyone around them given the foul and corrosive nature of the Kyuubi's chakra.
"Who threw away their headband and caused this? It's an impressive display of strength."
Kushina's gaze turned past her companion, Minato's former student Kakashi Hatake and the teams co-sensei, to look at the destruction. The thick slate of the chalkboard was in two pieces practically down the center of it causing the sides to rest agains the floor.
"Naruko, right after I said she was on a team with her brother and sister. She also had choice words about rather being limbless breeding stock in Iwa than start a ninja career along side your other son and daughter. She said she didn't the stress it would cause" Iruka said shuffling the papers. He already saw that this was going to make a lot of wrong waves and cause trouble. For a child of the sitting Hokage to make such vile and pointed comments was not only unheard of, it was absolutely blasphemous.
Shino Aburame and Shikamaru Nara, heirs to their respective clans and among the smartest in their class, shared a silent look. What couldmake the oldest daughter of the Yondaime react with such vitriol for being on the same team as her siblings and mother? Something was incredibly wrong, pieces of information were absolutely missing making the already questionable actions of the girl much more curious. No one said stuff like that without reason.
"Take Menma and Sayaka to the roof Kakashi, I'll be back with Naruko." Kushina didn't give the silver haired man beside a moment to speak before she was gone in a swirl of leaves.
The silver haired jounin sighed before he told the younger of the triplets to meet him on the roof. He couldn't explain the feeling gnawing at his gut. Something felt horribly wrong but he didn't know what. If there was ever one thing he trusted in his life, besides his sensei and his sharingan eye from Obito that saved his life more than he cared to admit, it was his gut feeling. Something bad was going to happen, he just knew it.
On the other side of the village, Kushina appeared at the home she shared with her husband and children. She had hopes that Naruko would be sensible if given the chance to explain properly why things had happened the way that they had. Making her way to her oldest daughters room, she knocked three thimes before listening. Nothing, no movement at all. Her concern hitched up another notch as she turned the knob and pushed the door open.
Lament not your solitude. Expect no sympathy, no regard. Nothing. But if something should dare harm us, show them no mercy. That is our code, so to speak. Just the way we are, deeply unforgiving.
Kushina felt her stomach drop as she looked at the words crudely carved into one wall of the windowless room. It had been ages since she had seen those words. Ages more since she had... given them their due.
The flutter of a piece of paper turned her head to see a dusty desk that had a journal and a letter on top. Crossing to the desk, she opened the letter to see if it would shed some light on where Naruko had gone. If she had read the clans books in the library, there was a lot more explaining to be done than just leaving her out of training.
Minato, Kushina or the little demons hell bent on destroying my life that are publicly referred to as my 'siblings',
If you are reading this, then one of two things have happened. One, I am missing and you finally decided to look for me but could not find me. I only have one thing to say to four of you- I hope you all die a horrible death and that you rot in the worst realm of hell reserved for traitors. If it wasn't the decree signed by Minato-baka declairing me not to be treated at a hospital or clinic under the penalty of death, the shops outright charging me more than a jounin ninjas B-rank mission pay for expired food or the little monsters getting their posse of mindless clan heir friends to chase me until it was unsafe for me to return to this hell hole, I would probably still be here. But I'm probably not. If you don't believe me, the copy of the decree hung in every is in the envelope onto top of the journal where I documented every injury I've received in this village and had to treat myself. Mind you, that journal is a copy. I stopped keeping multiple journals once the rape attempts came into play.
Kushina felt horror settle into her face as she put the letter down and tore out a folded declaration like the letter said. Reading it over, she felt disgutst and anger flood her veins as not only was Minato's signature on it with the Hokage seal of his design but those of the Elder Advisors and the Shinobi Council members.
Assuming you didn't believe me and checked the decree, I'm glad to have your attention for once Kushina-san. Or, should I say I would have been happy because situation number two is a lot more dire. For you. Situation number two is I said fuck it, and you and everything you stand for, and decided to kill myself just to spite you and this village.
It's sad when the spirit of a demon treats you more like a human than a village full of the alleged things.
Either way, I'd say its nice knowing you or something but I would be lying.
Tears fell from Kushina's eyes as the letter from shaking hands. Her own daughter had run away or killed herself..because of them. Because of the village.
A violent explosion rocked the village making her curse as she wiped her eyes and shunshined away to where the chakra source had flared, the proclomation crushed in her hand.
"My apologies for the inconvenience Daishi-san."
"Oh non-sense princess, I was headed home to Kumo anywways. The long trip gets lonely hauling my wares so I'm glad to have the company." An older man waved off his companions concern. His eyes briefly shot over to his companion, a teenaged girl with purple eyes and silver hair.
"That's not what my apology was for" the girl said before her hands grabbed either side of his face and twisted with enough force to snap the mans neck. He had seen her face and her eyes would be enough to out her at the nearest outpost now the carriage was enough of a distance, not far enough that turning around would be a hassle at all, so he had to die. It was just lucky enough the horses didn't spook as the young girl laid the mans body in the back under a tarp. His family would be able to lay the man to rest, she woud give him that much out of respect.
'Respect for the dead, Matatabi would love you.'
The girl didn't respond, not to be rude but she had to come up with a ruse to get past the checkpoint at the next major town. By now Konoha would have felt the explosion from her diversion and would be swarming on it. As good as that was, it would spiderweb out to make the checkpoints more on alert for invaders attacking the village. Getting an idea, she placed a hand on the dead man and concentrated as she focus chakra to her hand. Utilizing the technique taught to her, she felt her hair lengthen and lengthen and become the same color before her eyes turned a dark shade of brown as her skin took on a darker shade.
"That should be enough to pass me off as his granddaughter returning his body home for burial" she muttered to herself while urging the horses to continue their path toward the mountainous country and its shinobi village.
Minato was jolted out of his seat as a sudden explosion sent tremors throughout the village. "ANBU! On me!" he ordered leaping out the window towards Training Ground 44 where the source of the explosion seemed to be. Were they under attack? If so, who was dumb enough to-
"She actually did it.."
Kushina and Minato, not to three quarters of the shinobi in the village, were met with an awe inspiring sight when they got to the famed training ground. Instead of a dark, imposing battle ground enclosed by military gates, the inside seemed... normal. With the exception of a column of smoke erupting from the very heart. No eerie silence, no ominous cracking, no monstrous hissing of hidden animals within, it was just quiet save for the rustling of leaces in the trees.
"Jounin Mitarashi, why haven't you investigat-"
"I already know what happened, Naruko killed herself." Anko gave no look to her fellow shinobi as she turned to look at the Hokage and his wife. "And I'm glad she did."
Most of the shinobi went to open their mouths but the ominous sound of a click revealed she was clutching a deadly nest of wired suspending a death cloud of kunai over all their heads.
"She told me if she ever did it, it would be because of you two and this village. Beating her, starving her, your proclomation that barred her from medical treatment at the hospital or clinic under pain of death." Anko's eyes burned with hatred as she glared at her boss and his wife before turning to the other shinobi and kunoichi behind them. "And how many of you tried to kill her? Rape her? Beat her within an inch of her life? I recognize a good number of you here now. I should kill you where you stand as just for her!"
A strange whistle filled the air making Anko's head sharply turn to the right. For a moment she thought she saw something before it dawned on her. No, the gaki wasn't deadd, she had escaped! Of course! But she couldn't let them know, not yet. She had to buy the girl time. "I quit!" In one motion, she used her free hand to throw her headband aside and release the wire as she used the reverse summon feature of her summon contract.
Thinking fast, Minato slammed his hand on the ground erecting a wind barrier to deflect the kunai. Only instead of steel kunai raining down to try and kill them, they were...paper slip kunai? Something was wrong here. "Get in there and find pieces of who or what set off the explosion. Now!" he ordered. "Something is wrong Kushina, I never-" Minato never got the chance to finish as Kushina balled her fist up and buried it into his stomach forcing all air from his lungs.
"Then explain why your signature and Hokage seal are on this with the Elders and the Shinobi Council members!" Kushina snarled, her chakra flaring violently and parting her hair into nine ominously floating tail like bunches.
Mintato looked at the crumpled paper and felt his heart stop. He knew he had never signed this! Not on that day, not on any day! Yet he could not deny that was his signature or his official Hokage seal.
Lady Kushina! Lord Hokage! We found remains of a purple eyed blonde! We cannot tell the gender but the partial face we found has whisker marks on it."
Kushina didn't spare her husband a look as she marched into the Forest of Death to retrieve her daughters remains, what little might be salvageable. She may have failed her in life but she would get her child the respect she deserved in death.
