The sound of a stream flowing filled the Nursery Den of Streamclan, where the she-cats took care of their young. The sun shined through the bush leaves, the crickets stirred in the medium-long dried grass. The clan cats sat in groups: three young apprentice cats sat by the stream, while nine warriors talked.
A medium-long furred, black-brown she-cat with a white heart on her chest; white star on her forehead; mittens; grey flecks; white tail tip and white inner ear fluff with blue eyes, layed on the cool dirt in the nursery with a bangled, greyish-silver she-kit with a long sock on her front left leg a small sock on her back right leg, with green eyes, curled up underneath the she-cat's front leg. A few fox-lengths away, a short haired, white-pawed, dark ginger she-cat with blue eyes sat with her short haired, grey, blue-eyed tom-kit.
A medium furred, brown-eyed, dark grey tabby tom trotted in with a mouse in his mouth.
"Stonepelt." The black-brown she-cat greeted as she dipped her head respectfully.
Stonepelt nodded in respect to the black-brown she-cat.
"Stormheart."
He then looked to the other she-cat.
"Crystalshade." He mewed as he padded up to her and placed the mouse in front of her.
He then rubbed his head against hers. Stonepelt looked at the kit and smiled as he sat next to her.
Stormheart stood and licked her kit, "Crystalshade, do you mind watching Ghostkit while I go eat?" She questioned.
Ghostkit looked over to Crystalshade and smiled.
Crystalshade nodded.
"Yes, yes," she began exposing her kind-soft voice, "Go, eat."
Ghostkit padded over to Crystalshade and Stonepelt.
"Hi! Slatekit, Stonepelt and Crystalshade," she chirped, making Stonepelt and Crystalshade smile.
Stormheart smiled and walked out through the small entrance to the den. She squeezed through the opening and padded past the apprentices, then to the fresh-kill pile, where fish, mice, rats and a mix of birds were piled. She grabbed a rat and joined the warriors.
A brown she-cat apprentice with a white chest, underbelly and boot on her front left leg and black inner ear fluff, blue eyes looked over at Stormheart and smiled, flicking her tail in greeting.
She looked back to her fellow apprentices, "I can't wait to see what task Fawnclaw has for me!"
A short furred, creamed point, black-brown, amber-eyed tom nodded and stood, lashing his paw out at a rock, sending it flying into a bush.
"Ashshade said she has a great task planned for me!"
"Agreed, Lynxpaw!" A black and white blue-eyed she-cat purred in agreement as she looked at the other she-cat apprentice, then to the cream pointed tom, "You too, Bushpaw." She smiled, "Coalstar said he wants me to join the next gathering!" She mewed in excitement, "I can meet other Clans! What about you, Shadowpaw?"
Shadowpaw - a golden tabby she-cat with three white paws (two on back and one on her front right paw); a white snip on her nose and green eyes - nodded, "Yep! Everyone has lots of tasks, the more warriors, the merrier. Me and Spottedthistle are going to go hunting."
A blue tom with a black tail and yellow eyes, padded over to the apprentices, "Are you excited to see what your tasks are?" The tom's voice boomed.
The four apprentices looked up and bowed their heads, the black and white she-cat smiled, "Greetings, Coalstar!"
Coalstar smiled and nodded, then sat, "Greetings, Cometpaw."
Cometpaw looked at her friends. "Shadowpaw was just saying how more warriors are better." She meowed, as she wrapped her tail around her paws.
Coalstar nodded, "And she is right. If someone is willing to attack, we have lots of warriors to defend our home."
Bushpaw leaped to his feet and raised his tail, "And we'll defend whoever does!" He jumped onto a rock beside Shadowpaw, "No clan will fight us! We're too strong!" He mewed as he stood on his hind legs, then jumped next to Coalstar and sat down with a proud smile, "Isn't that right, dad?"
Coalstar chuckled, "Yes Bushpaw, you have a strong spirit of a warrior." He said, making Bushpaw smile, "But you need to be less energetic."
Bushpaw's smile fell, then rose again, "But if I'm not energetic, who will spread fun?"
The five chuckled,
"Bushpaw!" A deep she-cat's voice called, making the apprentice look over to a medium furred grey she-cat who had white flecks, dark grey paws, muzzle and ears with amber eyes.
Bushpaw looked to his friends, "I gotta go…" he looked over to her, "Coming, Ashshade!" He called after her, then trotted off.
"I better go find Spottedthislte. She might want me to do training…" Shadowpaw trailed off, then trotted off leaving Lynxpaw and Cometpaw.
The two glanced at each other and chuckled.
Coalstar looked at Cometpaw, "You too, Cometpaw." He stated as he stood, "I'll be at 'Log Over Stream'." He stated, trotting up stream.
Cometpaw looked over at Lynxtail, "Well. I better get going." She smiled and began to trot off after Coalstar.
Lynxpaw looked around and stood, "Hey, Rapidpaw!" Lynxpaw called as she trotted up to a brown tabby tom with dark ginger points and amber eyes.
Rapidpaw looked over, "Yes?" He questioned as he scratched his ear.
"Do you know where Fawnclaw is?" She asked as she licked her front paw, "I'm meant to be training."
Rapidpaw nodded, "I think I saw her at the 'Cliff Place'."
Lynxpaw smiled, "Thanks!" She then ran off.
–TIME SKIP–
Ghostkit pounced on Slatekit, making him use his back legs to kick her off.
Ghostkit hissed and jumped onto a rock, "You can't defeat me!" She mewed as she crouched into a pouncing position, making Slatekit laugh.
"Yes I can! I'm the most powerful cat in the forest!" Slatekit meowed, as he looked down and slammed his paw on the ground. When he looked back up, Ghostkit had vanished. He raised a brow and looked around, "Uh…"
Ghostkit pounced on him and pinned him to the ground, Slatekit hissed in fear and clawed at her face.
Ghostkit let out a hiss of pain and jumped off him, "Ow!" She squeaked as held her paw up to the ridge of her nose.
Slatekit cringed, "Sorry, Ghostkit! I thought you were a fox or something!" He whined as he walked over to her
Ghostkit smirked and pounced on him and jumped into a bush and onto a rock, "Didn't expect that!" She growled.
Slatekit laughed and jumped on her, knocking her off the rock.
