Five months since the fight between Spider-Man and Arrow vs. Deathstroke. Five months since not only Anya was bitten by one of the OsCorp spiders, but so was another girl.
There have been sightings of another Spider-Girl.
Nobody knows who or when exactly she first appeared, but they learned it was some time after Slade's attack. There were even other sightings of other "vigilantes" around the city either inspired by the Arrow or Spider-Man.
But this new Spider-Girl has been putting most of them in the wrong light in recent days. She is currently the suspect in the mutter of a high schooler which this vigilante was seen fleeing the scene from. There were no reports of anyone else in the vicinity, no signs of anyone other than the victim and Spider-Girl.
Right now the police got a tip of where Spider-Girl was currently at. They didn't know why she was here, but that wasn't exactly what they were here to find out.
A swarm of officers was led by Captain Yuri Watanabe. They swarmed the outside of the building and Yuri was starting to get a group of officers to head inside.
"Listen, this vigilante that the press is labeling "Ghost-Spider", she's been spotted in this building. We have her cornered, but if you think we have her outnumbered, then you're sorely mistaken." Yuri warns her men about what they're going against. "I've seen what one of these Spiders can do up close. They can take down armies. She may not be as experienced as them, but that hasn't stopped them before. Do. Not. Underestimate her. Get in, take her down. We can't let her slip out of our grasp again."
She then sent her men up with the task to capture her unharmed. Not like they were a parable of doing any harm to her either way.
Yuri walked over to her car and picked up a megaphone to get a warning to Ghost-Spider. There wasn't any way for her to escape, without being spotted or seen anyway. So this means that they can talk to her and ask her to surrender.
"To the individual by the name of Ghost-Spider, we have you surrounded. Surrender peacefully, and you will not be harmed." Yuri gave off her warning.
There was silence with nothing but the sirens of the cars filling the streets. All of the officers around had their guns pointed up at the building. Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Nothing was coming.
It was starting to worry everybody. Everyone was either worried that they were given the wrong address, were in the wrong place, or somehow managed to escape.
But that's when something finally did happen in the form of a window being shattered. The window burst open as Ghost-Spider put all of her weight into the window and shattered it on her way down.
Ghost-Spider wears a black bodysuit with white areas that form a spider design, a white hood with an interior lining that is magenta with cyan web patterns, matching magenta-and-cyan designs on her upper arms, and cyan soles to her boots.
All of the cops opened fire on the escaping criminal yet didn't manage to make a mark on her. All she was missing is the fact that she couldn't swing away because of the rain of bullets.
When she came closer to the ground, Ghost-Spider landed on the roof of one of the cars. She then leaped to avoid the tranq darts and kept flipping to shoot webs to contain the cops in cocoons. None of the entire squad stood a chance, which was followed by her webbing up the entrance of the building.
"Officers down, send backup."
"Won't do you any good," Ghost-Spider said with a sigh.
That's when her Spider-Senses went off and she spun around. One of the cops tried to shoot her in the back, but she managed to leap just when the shot was made. She flipped over the car and landed behind the cop before she webbed the gun. Yanking the weapon out of their hands, and throwing it into one of the cop car windows.
Ghost-Spider then looked over towards Yuri who had her hand stuck to a car. "You know...you should really send more backup next time. Or be better prepared."
With that, Ghost-Spider leaped and swung away from the scene without a scratch on her. No cuts in her suit, not even a scratch from the glass.
Yuri sighed and banged her head against the car and groaned. She wasn't prepared enough as she hoped she was. The police may trust vigilantes now, most of them at least, but there were still others who didn't wish to involve them in police matters.
But Yuri knew that to fight a Spider, you were going to need to send a Spider after them.
Back with Spider-Man and his Spider Friends, he has taken them to a new hideout that they now have in store. With his closet not being the most secure or bigger of places to hide, Walter may or may not have looked the other way and slipped an entire floor off of the building top. Nobody was using it except for storage, even then, it wasn't much to store.
If there was any place secret to hide the Spiders, then where better than the building that they own? Peter can sneak in without the people stopping him. Or they can sneak in through the roof and avoid surveillance with their skills.
Now they have a new fancy set up with monitors from the closet base, several new manikins to store spare suits (as well as some alternative suits), and even a place where they can store a lot of gadgets.
But right now, Peter was in the middle of training Anya to hone in on her spider senses, as she's been having trouble with it in recent weeks. There wasn't anything that they could really do to help her as it's always a mental thing. It's different for everyone. For Peter, it took time to get used to the tingle in his head. Miles took a bit longer and still had no real way of controlling it.
"You need to focus," Peter said as he was using a tennis ball shooter to train her. "The more focused you are, the more your senses will identify the problem."
Anya yipped as she was knocked on the head with a tennis ball. "Ow!"
"Ah, I remember my training," Miles said with a grin and a sigh. "But mine involved a murderous psychopath in a Scorpion suit."
Mary Jane looked at him with a raised brow. "You really wanna start comparing?"
"Just saying." Miles shrugged. "Maybe she just needs the insensitive like that."
"I don't feel good throwing her into the line of fire as I did you," Peter informed him and watched Anya keep getting hit in the arms as she shield her face. "When I did it with you, it was a need for help. I wasn't willing to put you in danger like that unless you were ready. And even before that, you had at least two months of training with Stick."
"I've been at this for months, and still can't get the basic senses to work," Anya stated, only to end up getting knocked in the back of the head. "How many balls are in that thing?!"
Peter chuckled as he got a ring on his Spider-Phone. Name pending.
He stepped away from the training Anya and quickly answered the phone. "Captain Yuri. I never got the chance to congratulate you on your promotion."
"It helps both of us protect the city," Yuri said with pride. "But right now, I need a favor. From all of you."
Peter was shocked when he heard the request. The last time that she and the rest of them were together was shortly after that incident with Mole Man. Mostly after the past five months has been steady criminal after steady criminal. Nothing that the two Spiders couldn't handle on their own.
Anya has also been taken on a few of them, trying out either a new suit or trying out the skills that she has learned. She did well against the Mirakuru soldiers, as well as the smaller criminals. But it was like her skills got weaker instead of stronger.
There could be a number of reasons why her powers got worse over time. The first and least likely was that it was just random luck, and the most likely was the environment where she gained her powers. Due to the extreme environment where it was life or death, her powers must have pulled themselves into overload to try and keep Anya alive due to her near-death experience.
"We'll meet at the prescient," Peter confirmed and hung up.
A while later, Yuri made her way to the alleyway of the prescient and looked around the area. She didn't see anyone coming and walked over to lean on the wall, waiting for when they would show up. When she heard what sounds like thumping, she knew that her men had arrived.
She looked and saw that Peter stood there in the same suit he wore during the Mirakuru attack, just with a few stitched-up scratches and colors. Miles came leaping and landing on the brick wall on the side of the building.
Then Anya came swinging and tried to land on the opposite wall of Miles, but she doesn't exactly have the best control and ended up slipping off. Screeching in fear, she landed and grabbed onto the trash container.
Anya now wears a black spandex costume with a white spider symbol connecting from the shoulder down. She also wears her hair in a ponytail; most likely so it won't get in the way while she is fighting.
"Is there like a new one of you popping out every year?" Yuri asks them.
"I'm starting to consider the same thing," Peter admitted as Miles leaped down to his side. "What'd you want to talk to us about?"
"I guess you've seen the news. The reports of another Spider?" Yuri asks them.
"You mean Ghost-Spider?" Miles asks and crossed his arms. "I thought you guys didn't want us to have anything to do with that case."
"My commanding officer, yes," Yuri replied with a sigh. "But today, she took down a dozen of our best. Making the SCPD look a bit bad."
"And after everything that went down with Slade, that's definitely something you don't need." Miles guessed.
Yuri nodded as she pulled out a case file from her jacket. "We need all the help we can get. And that means that we need to call in Spiders or take down Spiders. This is all we've got on what went down."
"What exactly went down?" Anya asked as she slid out of the trash.
"At first, nothing new." Yuri shrugged as they started to scroll through the file. "Just seemed like another Spider-Hero. Or one of the other dozen vigilantes everywhere. I even thought she was one of you. But then she turned over a bad lead."
"What'd she do?" Miles asks when Peter then held up a photo of a deceased kid. "She killed someone?"
"A boy. No other people were found at the scene." Yuri sighed and was saddened by his death. "Ghost-Spider was the only one there. No fingerprints. Blunt force trauma to the head was the cause of death."
"Looks like the signs of getting punched by one of us," Anya said as she looked over their shoulders.
"Then we should look into this," Peter said as he was worried about there being a murderous Spider out there. "We'll call in if we find anything out."
"It's not gonna be easy. She seems to be well trained." Yuri tells the team.
"So are we," Peter promised her they knew what they were doing.
And with their business concluded, the three of them turned around and shot a web before yanking. They all then swung away and started running and climbing up different parts of the building. Miles was climbing up the fire escape whilst Peter was leaping back and forth from the
The next morning, Peter was back in his bedroom and was looking over the police file that Yuri handed out. He was looking to see if there was any sort of pattern that leads to where she lives. But as he kept looking, it seems she knew what she was doing and knew to avoid detection. Seems that the only pattern is that when she slips up, she is spotted by someone.
As he was looking over all of the data, he felt like he was getting a headache and rubbed his head. "Okay, where are you?"
There was then a knock at the door and Peter was wondering who it was. "Peter, you awake?"
Peter smiled as he heard it was his mom and was happy about it. Ever since that encounter with Slade, Peter had been glad when he saved her from the monster. He wasn't glad about how it could have possibly ended, but he was glad nonetheless that he saved her.
"Yeah, mom, I'm here," Peter confirmed.
Moria opened the door and walked inside to see what her son was looking at. "What is all of this?"
"It's that case that the police didn't want us to be a part of," Peter explained as he looked it over. "Captain Yuri was getting angry and decided that we would be useful in a fight between her."
"And how do you plan to stop her?" Moria wonders.
"Well, we need to find her first," Peter said as he closed the file. "But nothing here is of any use. So, Miles is out right now with Anya looking for anything. MJ had band practice, so she was going to be gone for a while. Whoever this Ghost-Spider is, she's good at keeping herself in the shadows."
"Well, while you are waiting, there is someone downstairs waiting to see you," Moria informed him.
"Who?" Peter was surprised to hear.
"Go see for yourself," Moria said as she gestured to the doorway.
Peter was wondering what was with all of the secrets and just decide to go with it and walked to the living room and see what was going on. He made his way around the house and downward toward the living room where he immediately froze in shock. There in the middle of the room, looking out of the window, was someone who couldn't possibly be there.
"Hey, Peter, look who I found." Walter joked as he gestured to the figure.
Then the figure turned around and showed off his ruffled hair and smiled when he saw Peter. "Hey, Pete. Miss me?"
Peter was shocked when he saw the man and was amazed. "Harry?"
Harry Osborn. He was finally back in town.
The Ghost-Spider in question, also known as Gwen Stacy, was currently sleeping in her own garage and even on her drum set. She was tired after her chase with the police last night and didn't even remember falling asleep in her Spider-Girl suit. She only woke up when she heard the doors to her garage open and woke up in a panic.
"Ooh, webs! Band practice." Gwen whispered in fear. Then she looked down at her suit and immediately panicked as she ducked downward. She kept some spare clothes in her bag that she kept in her garage just for emergencies like this. By the time the doors opened, she was already changed, but her hair was a complete mess, but there wasn't anything that she could do about it now. "Hey, guys!"
"Whoa, Gwen, what happened to you?" Mary Jane asks when she looked her friend up and over. "You look terrible."
"Yeah, what happened to you?" Gloria asks her.
"I got chased by a SWAT team across six city blocks," Gwen said in a sarcastic tone. "Obviously."
But none of her friends took it seriously as they just laughed it off. MJ then placed her guitar case down and opened it.
"Come on, let's get to practicing," MJ tells them as they prepared to play.
When they were set up, they got right into playing their music and trying to work on their beats. None of them knew that their paths were going to collide and turn into dozens of different consequences.
