The missing scenes if you will for episode nine.

Even if I found this episode to be rather good, it still felt it needed the little extra touch. And so here is something like that.

This is mainly written from Omega's point of view with her inner most thoughts coming to view.

Part of the Bad Batch Add-ons series

Echo is gone and I am so mad about it!

'Adapting to chance is hard, even more so when an important piece of the whole is gone missing.'

"Yeah, so another planet. Another stupid mission! Getting real tired of this all!"

Omega glares only at the ground. Kicking the small pebbles of rock on her path making them crash against each other. She doesn't really care about the place, the planet, any of it.

Finally looking up having the Crosshairesque scowl plastered on her face. She isn't feeling this mission at all. Her usually chipper self gone. Guess it was left on Coruscant. With Echo.

"They don't care about Echo. It was like he was never there. They all just moved on! Just like that! Like it was a now big deal at all! How could they do that?"

Omega's glare gets more angrier, her scowl more defined as if trying to bore a whole into the backs of her brothers. At least they would feel something then, right?

But none of that happens.

And so, Omega just follows in the footfalls of the others. Going through the motions only, like she has done ever since… Coruscant happened.

"Omega. You will stay with Wrecker as our look out." Hunter gave the orders as they had reached the mine entrance.

"Being the look out was Echo's job." Wrecker complained. Him clearly wanting to do more than simply stand around in the dry, lifeless rock they were currently on.

Omega could not blame him for it though. "I will stay. Wrecker, you go with the others."

"No, it's too dangerous. You two stay. Together." Hunter wasn't having a debate about this. He was the leader after all and what he said was what the others did. Period.

"Fine." Omega kicked another small rock in frustration and took a seat on the ground. Lately, it was moot to argue with Hunter. Ever since Echo had remained with Rex, Hunter had grown more and more grumpier and he wasn't as easy to influence as he had been before.

"Hunter would have made a much better look out with his skillset than Wrecker anyway. And Wrecker could have been the one drilling the Ipsium. But why bother to explain. It doesn't matter. None of it matters. Echo would have pointed it out though. Then again, he wouldn't have had to do that, because if he was here we wouldn't be a man short."

Omega was positively stewing now. Her mind filled with anger and bad thoughts. She did not like it nor her situation at all. But there was little she could do about. She was feeling the way she was now and she needed to. Throwing the small rocks she cold find aimlessly into the distance.

"What's wrong with you?" Wrecker dared to ask.

"Why do you care?"

"Omega…" Wrecker had no idea why the Kid had been like this ever since Coruscant. Then again, Wrecker himself had been too wrapped up in his own internal turmoil. As no matter what Hunter or Tech had said, Wrecker missed Echo. Just like he missed Crosshair…

"If we had gone with Echo, none of this would have happened." Omega finally looked up and at Wrecker.

"What do you mean?" Wrecker was playing the dumb card on purpose. At least Omega was talking to him now. As before coming to this mission, Omega had sulked and spent time by herself. Not even coming to get the Mantell Mix with him which had been a first for sure!

"I mean if we had done what Echo suggested before, the squad having joined with Rex, we would not be here. On this rock. Doing Cid's bidding." Omega was surprised to hear her own words. But it was how she felt right? She was done with the mercenary thing. Done with Cid. There were others out there, their kin, who needed their help. And Echo had made his choice to help them. So why had not the others? Why had not Omega?

"Whoa Omega! That… that is… well, I had not even considered you wanted to go with Echo and Rex."

"Why not?" Omega really looked at Wrecker making him feel all confused.

"Well, I thought you liked exploring. Seeing new places and doing new things." Wrecker was surprised to hear Omega was the one voicing the exact same sentiment Echo had before remaining with Rex and his cause.

"I did. But what good is it if I know there are other clones out there much worse off than we are." Omega had finally started to see the bigger picture. Staring to understand the reasoning for Echo leaving. Something which had nothing to do with her or the Batch. Something which she had initially believed to be the case, but she had been wrong. Echo had left to join Rex because he wanted to help. To give others a future they all wanted.

"I. Well I guess you have a point." Wrecker could not see fault in Omega's deduction, like there really had been none in Echo's point either.

"I know I do." Omega got up and glanced around. There was nothing there to really look at. Sure, the colours of the planet were nice. But nice wasn't what Omega really needed at the moment. "And just for the record." She sighed heavily glancing around once again before turning back to Wrecker. "We too should to the more." Echoing the words of the one out there doing the exact thing.

We're family aren't we, all of us?

'Family is the worst! The quarrels, the misunderstandings… but in the end, is all about forgive and forget and finding the right balance.'

"We are a family. Aren't we?" Omega was starting to have her doubts about it all. As so far, it had been the driving force behind her thought process. The five, six of them being a family unit. Not simply unfeeling soldiers. As even if Crosshair was with the Empire, Omega had never really given up on him. Not really. He was simply misplaced until they got him back. But now, withe Echo too gone… it was becoming too much all of the family members split out there doing their own thing.

Tech simply glared at her for a moment, not really having an answer to give. He was trying to process what Omega had told him. But the emotional aspect of the situation eluding him still.

Omega stared back at Tech. Something occurred to her then. Something she needed to be cleared up too.

"When you said the Bad Batch existed long before Echo…" Omega had Tech's full attention. "And that it would be there long after Echo." She paused again, seeing the somewhat confused look on Tech's face. "Does it mean it will exist long after I am gone too?" Omega's tone was rather teary now, her thinking about the possibility getting her all choked up.

"I. No." Tech managed. His thoughts running a klick a minute trying to process this whole situation. Trying to find the best words to tell Omega. Because for some reason, he was beginning to understand where Omega was coming from. Even if they were both clones, they were very different. "No, it is not what I meant." He sighed heavily. "Forgive me Omega, but I am finding it difficult to process all this, these emotions you are having because of Echo leaving. And while I cannot sympathise, I can emphasise with what you are going through. I do have feelings even if I do process them differently from you." Tech looked at Omega looking back at her. Listening intently to what he was telling her. "Do you understand what I am saying, Omega?"

Omega was silent for a moment and then nodding agreeing she simply said. "I think I do Tech."

Omega jumped up from her seat. In one swell swoop she had her arms around Tech, hugging him tightly. Leaving no other option for Tech except to reciprocate. Not that he minded being at the receiving end of Omega's affections. It was something new for sure. And something he could easily adapt to.
