Hey guys, I'm back with another chapter of Banished Star, I hope you enjoy it. Disclaimers: see Chapter 1 for details.

Before you read, I would like to thank all of you for reviewing on my previous Chapter, also these chapters are most likely going to be short, (around 1k words) to shorten update waiting times. I understand the frustration that comes from waiting for an update and wondering if the story died, so I will try to update as often as time allows.

"...okayyyy, that still doesn't explain why you were coughing up blood!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, still wanting a clear explanation.

"Okay, okay, I was getting to that!" The shadowed pony said, before going into another coughing fit. Immediately causing Fluttershy to pull a hanky out of nowhere to give to the pony, who thanked her for her kindness before continuing with the explanation, "The reason I coughed up blood is because... it's because I'm dying."

"WHAT!" Everypony screamed, concern and shock clear on all of their faces.

"But that shouldn't be possible! You're immortal." Twilight reasoned, trying to figure out how that was possible.

"It's true. I'm dying. This was caused by my use of light magic before being sealed in Limbo." Ira replied, "I am a being made of dark magic, it would only make sense for me to be harmed if I were to use light magic. After all, I'm only immortal while ponies still need me. which is both a blessing... and a curse."

"But enough about me, what about you?" Ira continued, changing the subject, "You must have been doing something before coming here."

"...I was Princess Celestia's student for a long while before I came to Ponyville." Twilight responded, thinking back on her studies, "but she never said anything about you."

"Thats a good thing, it means that somepony finally succeeded in bringing peace and harmony to this land." The spirit of hatred explained, "Now I can rest easy knowing that I am no longer needed to help."

And with that he disappeared in a swirl of shadows, his destination unknown to those watching.

It had been three days since his meeting with the Bearers, and his subsequent pardoning by Celestia, who he was still slightly scared of, for obvious reasons. He was wearing his traveling clothes, an old looking navy cloak with a hood to hide his face, it was embroidered with silver depictions of various leaves and vines. It was an old thing, a remnant from his Shinobi days. Although, he was getting lonely... nah, he'd manage. He always has, ever since... no. He wouldn't go down that road again. He was Naruto Uzumaki, the last shinobi, and he would not fail again. Believe it!

With his resolve strengthened, Naruto set out for the northern most reaches of Equestria. His goal: to locate the Crystal Empire and help fix whatever caused it to disappear in the first place. Now that he thought about it, it was a tall order, eh he'll find a way. What that way was he didn't know, but he did know that he would find it. If he didn't find a way, well, he'd have to make one, and nothing was going to stop him.

Grrr...

On second thought, maybe he should eat something first, an army marches on its stomach after all. Yea, that would be wise, he was always impatient when he was hungry. Then a thought struck him, where was he going to eat? He was fine with grass and ferns, but after a while they tended to taste dull. Maybe he could introduce this age to ramen. Then an idea formed, he would start a ramen shop, to fund his trips and investigations into the Crystal Empire. Yea, that sounded like a good idea, but where would he build it? The answer hit him like a runaway cart.

Ponyville.

He would set up shop in Ponyville, it was a great idea if you think about it, it would let him meet the Bearers 'officially', assuming they didn't tell anypony about him. It would also allow him to send reports to Princess Celestia, mainly about his adventures and findings regarding the Crystal Empire. The more Naruto thought about it, the more he liked the idea.

It was decided, he would set up a ramen shop in Ponyville, send a message to Celestia, and build a small house in the Everfree Forest. After that he would-

a series of coughs racked his body, scattering his thoughts temporarily; it was getting worse. Naruto guessed that he had about... 2 years left before... what would happen exactly? Would he go back to normal? Would he die? Would he start to age again? Would he return to his human form? Or would something else happen? He honestly didn't know. He was strangely okay with that. Naruto had lived along life, not the best, but certainly not the worst. It was nice to have a time limit again, the feeling that you have to make the most of what little time you have. It was weirdly comforting, it made him feel mortal again.

What was he thinking about again? Ah, yes, the ramen shop, he'd have to start soon, or he wouldn't have enough time see it open. It was exciting, something to do with his life now that he was free from his prison. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice that he had wandered into a town.

"Hi!" Somepony greeted for somewhere in front of him, "I haven't seen you in Ponyville before, because I know everypony in Ponyville, and I mean everypony in Ponyville!"

Bright pink, that's all he saw before the mare continued, "That means, *loud gasp*"

And with that the strangely energetic pink pony left his field of vision. 'What a wierd place, I think I'll like it here.'
