Title: Different Choices
Spoilers: Assumes you've seen all the episodes up to and including 2.11 "Day I Met the Devil."
A/N: My contribution to Evil Author Day 2023. I chose to post this unfinished story in honor of the upcoming 5th season premiere of the show.
***Content Warning*** There are several mentions of minor violence towards Zeus and Apollo in this story. For specifics, see the end of this chapter.

Warning!
Do not attempt to read this story straight through from beginning to end, because it won't make sense. The chapters of this story contain the different adventures Magnum could have as he deals with the problem at hand.
From time to time as you read along, you will be asked to make a choice. Your choice may lead to success or disaster. The story you end up reading will be the result of your choices.

Chapter One: The Adventure Begins
Thomas Magnum was startled awake from his long-needed sleep by the muffled ringing of his phone.
Because Higgins had to deal with something related to the landscaping of Robin's Nest – he never did get the full story – Thomas had had to handle their latest case on his own for the past few days. Aside from a couple of calls to Juliet for help in accessing information from a computer, they hadn't spoken in the past two days.
It took longer than he'd care to admit, but he'd finally found the proof that his client's company was being sabotaged in a variety of ways by the disgruntled brother of an unjustly fired employee. By the time he'd chased down and caught the brother and finished with the HPD, who had taken the guy into custody, it was way, way past his bedtime. Nearly 24 hours past his bedtime.
He'd been a little alarmed when he'd made it back to the estate and didn't remember how he'd gotten there, hoping he hadn't run any red lights or caused any accidents along the way. So tired he could barely stay on his feet without swaying as if drunk, Thomas kicked off his shoes, dumped the contents of his pockets on the coffee table, and collapsed onto his sofa instead of attempting to go upstairs to bed.
The muffled ringing some time later was annoying enough to wake him up. Without opening his eyes, Thomas felt around for his phone. Opening the eye not smashed into the pillow, and looking at the display, he realized it wasn't his phone that was ringing.
As he put his phone back down on the coffee table and closed his eye, the ringing suddenly stopped. A moment later the ringing started up again.
Still feeling exhausted from the recent long days, Thomas debated what to do next.

If Thomas decides to investigate the source of the ringing, go to Chapter Three.
