Learning that Marcus was an android was the ultimate betrayal. But Breana could use it to her advantage. Marcus knew all of her secrets, as well as all of Douglas' secrets. He had already had feelings for her, and computers could be programmed. and as a sentient being, even a robot, Marcus didn't deserve to be left to die.
So under the cover of night, Breana silently left the house with a wagon. She had placed a temporary bug in Eddy's code to deactivate him so she wouldn't be disturbed. It was only a thirty minute walk to the rubble of Douglas' ruined lair, and Marcus' body was surprisingly nearer to the surface than she thought. She may not have had super strength, but it was worth the effort it took to dig Marcus out.
He was in some kind of stasis from the damage to his body, and it looked like he had already tried to dig himself out.
Breana felt a muscle twitch as she dragged and lifted him into the wagon. "Shh, I got you." She would be sore in the morning but it would be worth it to bring Marcus home.
